Clinton-Obama War Creates Serious Tensions at DailyKos
March 15, 2008 10:14 AM
This is how ugly things have gotten between supporters of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama -- Clinton supporters are staging what they call a "strike" at the influential liberal website DailyKos.
It's not really a "strike" -- blogging for these diarists is not a job, and stopping their blogging won't cause them financial hardship.
But, that said, these diarists' boycott of DailyKos is indicative of the turmoil in which the Democratic party finds itself.
Read more on their "strike" HERE.
- jpt
UPDATE: I asked Kos himself, Markos Moulitsas, what he makes of all this.
His response: "First, these people should read up on the definition of 'strike.' What they're doing is a 'boycott.' But whatever they call it, I think it's great. It's a big Internet, so I hope they find what they're looking for."

To WardCleaver,
My point was: We are ALL Americans. Evidently I didn't make the point clear. Sorry.

People do make mistake and most mistake can be corrected or it can correct itself but this one never and never can. I will never vote for Obama even if Dem has Obama/Clinton ticket and will consider 3 times before I cast Clinton/Obama ballot also.

Olberman should be boycotted - of all the news media pundits out there - he is the most hateful and biased against Hillary. The others appear neutral.
Acccording to him, barack is a saint.

Poor Hillary and Ferraro are the victims, right? We know Hillary is ALWAYS THE VICTIM.
One thing I do know is that the Clintons do and have always shamelessly pandered to African Americans. They have played the race card over and over again in this election and please don't insult me by saying they have not. Bill Clinton makes his frequent visits to all black churches during the election...just like he always did. But ONLY during elections.
Does it surprise anyone that all you hear on the news now is how the flames of racism in America have been fanned?
Whether it is a crazy old black minister or a crazy old elite white woman, we are back to a 1960's mentality here in 2008.
Have we wiped out years of trying to move beyond racist sentiments? From a quick look at the headlines I would say apparently so. But, I really think the American voters are as sick and tired of this as I am. I think they will make up their own minds and not be swayed by all this rhetoric.
I'm pretty sure when they do, it won't be in favor of Hillary Clinton. But this is coming from a crazy white woman who likes to think Americans really are better than this.

The bloom is off the Obama rose. The blank canvas is becoming a disturbing painting. Obama offers no unity or change in a good direction. He's spent 20 years being told to hate. It's too much for some of us to accept.

Obama has run a dirty campaign behind the scenes. His supporters are the most hateful people I've met since the neocons during the WMD days. If one asks questions regarding, or voices opposition to Obama's platforms, they are personally attacked and called racist. This is an attempt to intimidate people into silence. This is race baiting at its worst. Imagine what this country would be like if Obama sat in the White House. No way will I, and may others, support Obama. My allegiance is America, not the Democratic Party.

GHM - your putting the cart before the horse. Settle on your candidate first... and if a Democrat becomes the Prez., we can just recall all our military throughout the world and station them at our borders. No one gets in and we will be free inside our isolationist country while the rest of the world decides the the global economy for us. Stop the world, we're getting off. No troops outside, no NAFTA, no need for international treaties... just ourselves alone!

I just went to the Daily Kos site. I couldnt agree more. The lopsided, anti-woman, gender-biased, messed up media, overzealous and hypocritical Obama supporters hate mongering individuals who have taken over the web and mass media must stop. I for one support the boycott and wish it would go further to include msnbc and other media outlets who continually debase Hillary Clinton based on gender and refuse to hold Obama to the same measuring stick. I am beyond doing whats best for the party. Its now a matter of doing whats best for humanity. Whats fair and just is a much stronger conviction than whats best for the party. Its not the demobama party but the democratic party.

VICTIMS FOR HILLARY UNITE!!!! Such an odd story. So from what I could gather from going to DK, these folks are boycotting posting because they don't like the things people are saying about Hillary? God, get used to it... its only just begun. If she somehow managed to become president... you'd be in for 4 years of hell people. That is if you can't stand people saying bad things about her. They've been beating her up for the last 15 years. She's not well liked if you haven't noticed. She kinda brings out the worst in some. This is not news to anyone who's been awake in the last 15 years. Dang.

Have the Democrats messed up their chance to win the White House? After Sermongate it appears so. Most Americans will not support Obama because he is now irrevocably tied to a man who spews anti-American comments. The Republicans will show Obama and Rev. Wright embracing and play "God D America" in the background. Enough said. They say a picture is worth a thousand words. Well, show the picture and play the words. It will move Americans .... Black Americans, White Americans, Asian Americans, Mexican Americans... ALL Americans to vote for anyone other than Obama.

Well, let's see...
Has Senator Obama bublicly elevated the Republican candidate above Ms. Clinton? Nope, opps, that was Hillary.
Has Senator Obama, in a red rage ranted "SHAME on you Hillary Clinton!!!" Nope, opps. That was Hillary.
Has Senator Obama waited a week or so to see how internal polling says he should respond to rantings from his spouse and/or senior staff? Nope, opps. That was Hillary.
Did Senator Obama go negative on TV in the Wisconsin primary? Nope, opps again. That was Hillary.
Did Senator Obama go negative on TV in Texas and Ohio while declaring he was using the "kitchen sink" attack? Nope. Opps again and again. That was Hillary.
Did Senator Obama wait for internal polling when one of his own spoke out-of-turn? Nope. "Not on my campaign." Fired, end of story.
Thank you, Senator Obama, for acting as Presidential as possible while the kitchen sink is being continuously thrown at you. You are demonstrating a "Class Act."
As to Alegre, DailyKOS will miss her. But we won't miss her laundry list of fellow-travelers who have whined, often thrown around the f-bomb, and in general made Senator Clinton's supporters look so little and trite.

The point is, we are trying to judge which candidate has the character to be president. Hillary supporters are trying to lay the sins of Obama's minister on him but they turn a blind eye to volumes and volumes of Historical evidence of Clinton transgressions. It's a politcal ploy to distract us from her lack of integrity. Hillary Clinton has the reputation of being the most polarizing person in modern politics. Obama did not create that reputation. Hillary did.go obama 08

You know what "obama supporters," you're in for a damn rude awakening, sooner than later.
I'll tell you what, when someone can say THIS about Bill Clinton, two months ago, and not hear a peep from you or the media, then I know who's hypocritical, and talking out of both sides of their mouth. You're JUST LIKE BUSH SUPPORTERS!:
Sen. Bill Perkins of NY:
"This is not Bill Clinton's backyard or his plantation. Underscore, plantation, underscore backyard."
Does Bill Clinton own slaves? Cuz I personally feel smearing a once-good enough Democratic President in favor of a perceived "black" candidate is pretty racist.
Secondly,
YOU DO NOT ATTEND A CHURCH with a pro-nounced focus on "black values," with a pastor who has been friends with Louis Farrakhan (do you admit he's a racist, and anti-semite, or are you going to lie about that too?) for a long time; a trip to Tripoli in what, 1984? and Wright gave an award to a guy like Farrakhan and called him a great man...this has all been recent, but Obama feigns surprise that his personal friend/mentor for TWENTY YEARS is so racially focused?
Oh please...along with Michelle Obama's thesis on "racial divide" and disappointed that her thesis showed that her fellow black peers lost their "black identity", Wright's close association with Farrakhan, Obama's close association with Wright (for TWENTY YEARS!) coupled with Senator Perkins "plantation" comment pretty much tells me how hypocritical Obama, his supporters, and the mainstream media are.
Furthermore, as a flaming liberal, I'm disgusted that Obama supporters are sucking up what the MSM has to sell them, after we've spent the last 7 years denouncing them for giving bush cover on EVERYTHING.
You people are ridiculous.

Obama may in fact still take the nomination as the Super Delegates would support him if he murdered his wife, but the real deal that will seal his fate will be in the general election. Obama should bow out now, let Hillary have it and lets move on
Posted by: Mark | Mar 16, 2008 11:12:46 AM
Our pledge of allegiance states that we are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. When you think about these words, if you are an honest person then you have to admit that they are not true, because we are divided, we don't all have the same liberties and there is certainly not justice for all.
Right now a large number of white Americans are outraged at the words of the Rev. wright, while a large amount of black Americans are wondering what they are outraged about.
A lot of white Americans see his remarks as racist and unpatriotic, they feel that he hates whites and America.
A lot of black Americans feel that his remarks have some truth to them. That We have bombed several nations for our own selfish reasons, we have killed many innocent men, women, and children.
When he said that America's chickens were coming home to roost after 911, most white people took that to mean that he is saying that America deserved to be attacked.
Most black people look at it as a what's good for the goose is good for the gander type of issue, that just like America loves it's citizens and think it was unfair for someone to kill thousands of innocent people in the workd trade center, then those other countries love their citizens too and America can't go around the Globe creating chaos and not expcect somenone to strike back at us.
The Rev. Wright didn't lie about these things. When he said that Hillary didn't grow up as a little black boy with a single mother, Hillary never had to watch a cab whizz past her because of the color of her skin, Hillary has never been called that offensive word, all of those statrments are true and the only thing racial about them are the actions that many in this country take against people of color.
The remarks that most people saw on tv and the internet were excerpts taken from two different speeches and the editors did't show what Mr. wright said before or after those comments. The media did this on purpose to incite anger among whites and for a large part it has worked. But the honest white people are not angered, only saddened that this great country of ours in 2008 is still so racially divided. They are saddened that a good man is being wrongly condemned because of the words of another that make some people uncomfortable.
I have heard so many people say that the world is watching our election process, I say, God is watching and I don't think he is pleased, and I think that is why he has been trying to get our attention and we need to wake up and listen. For example; There was a terrible storm in Atlanta over the weekend that people are saying "came from out of nowhere"
Devastating tornadoes struck four states on Super Tuesday. There was a really bad snow storm in Ohio the day after the primaries there. there were snowstorms and wild fires after the Texas primaries , there are more incidences also, but the words I have heard after every one of these instances were "We have never seen anything like it"
Gas prices are out of control, thousands of people are losing their homes and jobs, groceries are so expensive that many people who once could eat a healthy diet can no longer afford to do so. Our dollar is constantly falling in value, Our education system is steadily getting worse and crime is rampant. Until America recognizes the wrongs we have done and continue to do and don't try to rectify them, this nation as a whole is going to continue to suffer.
II Chronicles 7:14 If my people which are called by name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.

I find it rather ironic that Clinton supporters are suggesting that "These Obama-bots will vote for B.O. no matter what, they'll even cheat in the caucuses for him. They don't listen to reason. In fact I don't think many of them have any frontal lobes in their brains, just operate from somewhere in the limbic system." After the "3:AM" ads, do we really need to ask who is operating from a fight or flight mindset?

Can someone point out just one example of Obama demonstrating good judgement? You can't use the Iraq war vote because Obama has already stated he didn't know how he would have voted because he wasn't in the senate at that time and didn't see the intelligence reports (even though he gave a speech in 2002 being against the war--a speech is not the same as a vote). I'm seeing several examples of Obama's poor judgement that include his relationship with Rezko and purchasing the house/land deal, drugs/sex story and Larry Sinclair, and Rev. Wright's inflamatory sermons, etc...
Please point out one example of good judgement of Obama that has nothing to do with the Iraq war.
Posted by: terry | Mar 16, 2008 9:51:22 AM
Obama should ust try to bow out gracefully. The long-term, close personal relationship with Reverend Wright is a nail in the coffin for the Democrats to claim the White House. There is no place for those sermons that have been blasphemous, hate mongering, and anti-american. It's insulting that Obama says he wasn't aware of the Reverend's comments. If the media finds the "smoking gun" of Obama, his wife and/or children being at one or more of these sermons then it's over for him as people will realize not only his very poor judgement in selecting friends/advisors but that he is lying about it now.

ATTENTION; Delegates/Super-Delegates, Do you see what Hillary has done since S.C.? For Praising McCain who is a Republican, to her Racist Comments, she should be BOOTED from the Democratic Party
Posted by: Demo Rules | Mar 16, 2008 7:46:51 AM
At this point, I'm thinking that McCain can have David Duke as a running mate and still beat the Dems... even if they forced the two into a so-called dream ticket.
Every week, it seems as if the two Dem nominees have found more ammo to ensure a Republican victory. Is this some sort of weird but brilliant strategy to over-expose the candidates so much that if the public found out that either one performed animal sacrifices, we would only shrug it off?
I can't wait to find out Hillary's tax forms: did she donate to the Nation of Islam? Did she make millions speculating on the mortgage bubble bursting? Is she part owner with Bill in the Empire Club? Is she in fact client no. 8?
Stay tuned for another chapter in "Primary Colors II - the Unauthorized Sequel"

Obama needs to step down, he can never be elected now. I thought he had a great chance but after the preacher and his good friend in jail in chicago, man i dont think so. Obama cant sit there with a straight face and tell us he never heard this preacher say these things before or had not heard them , because he has said he listens to the disk of his preachings. I just cant buy that one at all, SORRY!!!!

Obama should be commended for his ability to appreciate the good in people despite their flaws or certain of their beliefs. America needs more people like this.
Every ne of us is a mixed bag, as is America. We are all imprefect. America is imperfect. We all could improve ourselves. America could be improved in the same way.
One of the biggest flaws I see in America is peoples' inability to get along with (and tendency to demonize) others who think or believe differently than they do.
We need a president who can promote tolerance of differences. We need a president who supports people for their strengths, despite their flaws. We need a president who doesnt divide and judge people on oversimplistic criteria. We need a president with the courage to see the world in more gradations than just black and white.
Jesus did just that. He was someone who encouraged, above all else, acceptance of others. He mingled with people regardless of their class or status. And he spoke against judging one another (in the sense of condeming someone).
Some things to think about.

darlin, you said "What's all the hoopla about here anyway about some preacher? I just read that obama got another 9 delegates from Iowa and net 3 from california. Which makes him lead Clinton by like - what? 155 pledged delegates? with several superdelegates leaning to throwing in their lot with the leader?"
The answer - kool-aid.

Hillary will mist up and shed some tears in Pennsylvania, touting her ONE year working as an advocate for the Children's Fund before spending EIGHTEEN years as a corporate lawyer and serving double digit numbers of years on the board for Walmart. She will ask older white women from the working class to send her money, because she has loaned five million dollars of her many millions to her campaign. She will not release her tax returns or her WH files. She will insinnuate that the she is having a tougher in the US as the very rich white wife of the President of the US than a black man raised by a teen single parent, bearing the name "Barack Obama." Her surrogates, including her co-president partner, Bill, will use the gender and race cards. The Clinton dynasty's ads will feature the fear and slime politics of personal destruction, including the scorched earth politics that is destroying the Democratic Party. In the meantime, the party elders like John Edwards, Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi sit on their hands and watch the Roman circus proceed and the imperial Clinton co-presidents move on to an unconstitutional eight more years in the WH.

We should have expected Obama to be swift boated on the issue of the reverend. I kind of doubt that there is a single black person in the country who didn't at some point in their life find comfort at a church much like wright's. I saw some of the tapes, and heard nothing beyond what we all know. Yes, it's a racist society in lots of places, and yes, it's enough to make people's blood boil. But instead of ranting and raving all day long, they tolerate the indnigites during the week, then attend a find black church on the week end with some proper fiery sermon, and that helps exorcise the devil. Which devils BTW seem to be lurking big time on this board. many probably the same crowd whp cheered on the military - with its disproportionately many black soldiers - to just go on into Iraq and bring them some of that good american democracy medicine.
Get used to it - you all - Obama will be our next president. There really is no other choice...

Obama is: charasmatic, gives people hope, is a very talented speaker, promises big change, rallies the people, and has overzealous followers, ……………… Sounds a little like Adolf Hitler, doesn’t it.
I mean, really, think about that! No, Obama has no plans of genocide, but don’t be blind like the Germans of the 1930s. NO politician is a savior. NO politician has the power to solve all our problems. NO politician can change things by himself, unless he is a dictator like Hitler was.
Please consider that as you decide who you’ll vote for. Remember the old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”

The Obama supporters have been incredibly nasty for many months. there are other liberal discussion groups - DU - where the Obama people said very nasty and obscene things about Hillary. Their hatred for our former First Lady and your current Senator goes beyond rational thinking.

Will the real Senator Obama please stand up!
Mr. Obama has run his campaign based on one good judgement, not even a vote. He claims the people he surrouinds himself with are the best. These were to be his closest most trusted advisors. So far, they have been proven to be racists, crooks, and behind the scenes deal makers. He keeps aplogizing for the decisions(judgements)h he has made, about the people he has judged to be his mentors, and advisors. Our country can not take the chance. We don’t have the time to see what he truly has up his sleeve. He apparently, like Geoerge W. Bush, beleives the American voters are ignorant and will vote for charisma and charm, not experience. I HOPE too.I hope the voters get it straight and vote for our country and not against it. Vote for our economy, not hope for a change. Vote for our national secutity, and for our rights. The racism that the Obama campaign keeps screaming about is their own. The media just couldn’t see that through their own cloud of misinformation.
Obama we need you to STEP DOWN NOW!!!!!
YOU ARE A WOLF IN SHEEP CLOTHING!!!!

The Clintons hook up with Rush Limbaugh and they wonder why the rest of the Democrats think they've lost their minds. Really.
Well, now that Politico and Huffington are starting to ask why Hillary has had it so easy with her business ties, at least someone other than Kos and KO will be talking about it. Media Matters is talking about problems in fairness for Obama at ABC as well, and you know god don't like ugly. Just ask CNN!
Jake, you could answer what Media Matters is saying about ABC's coverage of Obama and McCain. I'd be curious to hear what you think.

I sometimes strongly disagree with the framing of the topics and the content on Political Punch, which may unnecessarily fan the political conflicts out there (just think about the title of this blog for example), but I do respect its author as someone who is willing to entertain opposing viewpoints, civilly. That's the same reason I find myself drawn to Andrew Sullivan's and Josh Marshall's blogs.
I mention this because I feel a bit sorry for ABC at the harshness of many of the comments on here, not that this is the only site prone to a long string of nasty arguments.
I think many if not most of us are sick of the harshness of politics in the US. Yet judging by the comments here (and on most web blogs) it seems it's just a reflection of the American people.
If we're going to complaining but the gridlock, divisiveness and combatitiveness of American politics, maybe we have no one to blame but ourselves.

notricksplease: it is very, very clear that you have very selective eyes and ears and only pick up dribs and drabs here and there that you think support your view of Obama and you totally ignore all the details of facts that go against your view and that will take away your ammunition against him. Obama has answered all these things and taken action to rectify his mistakes. He has and is admiting his mistakes in public and has and is taking steps to be open and transparent in his activities. Why do you ignore Clinton's mess and the fact that she has failed to match Obama in publicising her activities and decisions. If you want to demonstrate that you are unbiased and are able to see all sides, then also speak about Hillary's mess, speak even about McCain's mess. The bottom line is that Hillary Clinton should have had a good long think before starting this fire. Let's see who gets burnt to a crisp.

Democrats are not fighting each other but fighting for the truth to come out. Democrats are being responsible because the only way to know the truth is through fierce debate. To elect the wrong person because democrats want to play goody-two-shoe will be disasterous for the country. I hope more debates had been conducted when Bush was running and we might not have this mess on our hands now.

By the time the dems are done tearing each other apart, McCain will be a breath of fresh air. If Obama does not win, blacks will not vote. If Clinton does not win, Southern woman will vote by race and hand McCain the white house.
it is inevitable, i hope mccain picks a democrat running mate.

One of sound mind should never underestimate the power of unity.
Whereas many see and believe that Obama is the candidate of change, at that Hillary is a seasoned politician who does not really have anything new to offer other than the fact that she represents the possibility of the first female US President, our beloved war hero who guarantees a continuation of the current administration's policies basks in the sun, quietly yet systematically gathering and mobilizing the conservatives in preparation for November's general elections.
While the freshman, Obama battles with the junior Hillary, soiling each others reputation in the hope of converting a handful who haven't already made-up their minds as to who they will vote for, the GOP is quietly taking notes, on what attack works; they are ecstatic that their potential challenger is being lynched for them without having to spend a dime; the GOP relishes the bloodbath the democrats are involved in and come November, a divided party will be all McFury will need to waltz his way to the Whitehouse.
The notion that Hillary could somehow win the nomination without tearing the party asunder has not escaped the Party leaders. The majority of Democrats has elected Obama and will feel betrayed if for some reason, the superdelegates decide to deny him the nomination and give it to Hillary.
The only reason the party leaders have not publicly come out for the winning candidate is because their base is practically split. The female baby-boomer and older are vehemently supporting Hillary while the youth, the future of the party and the black voters are totally backing Obama.
When these two blocks, the core of the Democratic base are at odds with each other, the Democratic Party ceases to be a power to reckon with but becomes a joke; a cake-walk for the GOP.
While rules are meant to guide and protect us, there are those who think that they are meant to be broken. As important as Florida and Michigan will be in the fall, they broke the rules and should pay the penalty. The candidates agreed to this prior to the beginning of the primaries, but are now reneging on their pledges to penalize the two states.
This might have been the best chance for a blackman or a woman to win the US-Presidency, but because of the immaturity of the Democratic Party, Lazarus McFury, will justly continue the long tradition of "every white boy and only the white boy born in America having the potential to be the future President of the United States of America."
This infighting is not good for the Democratic Party and if Gov. Howard Dean, the chairman of the Party can not use his influence privately to end this bloodbath quickly, then he and the party leaders, Pelosi and Reid should publicly embrace one candidate, the one that they believe has the best chance against McCain, preferably the one whose endorsement will not permanently damage the party.
This way and only this way can the Democratic Party, the father of the Republican Party avoid another devastating split such as the one back in 1825 when the Democratic-Republican Party split to form the modern parties. Of course the Republican Party would further split giving rise to the Whig Party before it dissolved in the late 1850's and its members reverted back to the Republican Party.
That said, the Party leaders should not go to Pennsylvania without an establishment backed candidate because that will solidify the split. The youth and the black vote, ubiquitously the future of the party, will feel betrayed and will seek consolation and recognition amongst the GOP; they will easily vote for Lazarus McFury in the fall.
I strongly believe that Hillary fought well, just like my good friend Mike Huckabee; but unlike Huckaboom, she fought a dirty and vicious battle, throwing everything at her opponent and preferred presidential candidate; providing unnecessary and unsolicited yet much appreciated fodder to the McFury campaign; nevertheless, hers was a loosing battle and in the best interest of the Party, should step down and let Obama prepare for McFury.
Step Down Hillary and let Obama and Adm. Fallon prepare for the general elections. He might give you the position you are best suited for; Secretary of State.

OBAMA NEVER ADMITS ANY MISTAKES. WHEN HE WAS FOUND COPYING WHOLE SPEECH FROM ANOTHER PERSON, HE SAID:"THAT IS NO BIG DEAL" INDEED, IF HE HAD DONE THAT IN HARVARD, HE WOULD HAVE GOTTEN AN "f". WITHOUT ABC'S INVESTIGATION, HE WOULD NEVER ADMIITED THAT REZKO HAD CONTRIBUTED MORE THAN $100,000 WHICH IS FAR LESS THAN THE ACTUAL CONTRIBUTION. NOW HE IS ADMITTING DRIBS AND DRABS BUT STILL NOT THE WHOLE TRUTH. INSTEAD OF ANSWERING A VERY GOOD QUESTION FROM SOME SHARP JOURNALIST:" DO YOU HAVE GOOD JUDGEMENT WHEN YOU SOLICITATED REZCO'S HELP IN BUYING THE MANSION?" HE JUST WALKED AWAY. GEE, HILLARY MUST HAVE COACHED HIM TO DO ALL THESE WHICH CLEARLY SHOWED HE DOES NOT ONLY MAKE LOTS OF MISTAKES, BUT HE SIMPLY CAN'T ADMIT THEM AND FIND ALL WAYS TO EXCUSE HIMSELF. SOMETIMES THE EXCUSES HE MAKES ARE ABSURD, JUST LIKE NOW HE IS BLAMING THE "DIVISIVE" FORCE FOR HIS TROUBLE.

When there's an Obama-Clinton ticket, we'll see who the true Dem supporters are.
Posted by: KT | Mar 15, 2008 10:21:22 PM
Hillary is not fit to be commander in chief, she has no class. Obama should not pick her as VP, she will bring some negative dirt to the ticket. If Obama is realy for change, Hillary has no place in the ticket. Go get Al Gore and make the dream ticket with him. If you can't get AL Gore, get Jon Kerry. If you can't get Kerry, try even Schwarzenegger. If nobody wants the ticket THEN get Chelsea Clinton but Hillary no way. This is an advice from a Hispanic.

OBAMA IS THE MASTER OF DIVERSION. IN ORDER TO DIVERT ATTENTION FROM HIS DIFFICULT PROBLEMS OF LYING ABOUT REZKO AND PRETENDING IGNORANCE ABOUT HIS PASTOR'S ANTI-AMERICA STANCES, AS USUAL, HE POINTS FINGER AT THE HILLARY CAMP. THIS IS COWARDLY BEHAVIOR. INSTEAD OF FACING HIS OWN PROBLEM SQUARELY, HE MAKES SNIDES AT THE INNOCENT PEOPEL WHO HAVE NOTHING TO DO WITH HIS TROUBLES.

Well, if it is dirt you want to concentrate on with regard to Barack Obama, why don't you all go the whole hog and begin to look at the connection between Hillary Clinton and the very same Rezko; as well as the huge connection between Hillary Clinton and the private detective Anthony Pellicano who is also undergoing a trial right now in Hollywood? The bottom line is that Hillary Clinton publicly announced that she was going to use the kitchen sink approach to blunt Obama's momentun and so started all the disgusting insults, back-handed racist remarks, etc., etc., etc. Hillary Clinton should never have gone there, knowing full well the amount of baggage she is carrying. It is an old tactic - when you have mess to hide, go on the attack to try and deflect attention from that mess. Hillary's baggage is a train wreck load of tinder just waiting to blow up in this excruciating fire that she has so recklessly lit. Folks want to feed on dirt and drama, then Obama is small fry. Go check Hillary Clinton out and do your research with the same diligence you research Obama. Her dirt and mess goes back many years and involve a lot of people. She doesn't talk about 35 years of experience for nothing! It is Hillary Clinton's backers, especially the African-Americans, who need to stop swooning over the memories of the Bill Clinton years. take their rose-tinted spectacles off and see the Clintons for what they have become. When you see and understand the mess that surrounds Hillary Clinton, it then becomes absolutely frightening to think what she would be able to do with the power of the office of the President of the United States.

I agree with Rick. Obama is a Trojan horse for hatemongers. I sometimes think he really is sincere in wanting to unite America, unfortunately, he has been used by some very undesirable people for their own nefarious purposes and his poor judgement will bring his downfall. It's really rather tragic.

I HAVE ONE (OR MAYBE TWO) WORDS FOR ALL OF YOU WHO SAY THAT OBAMA SHOULD HAVE KNOWN WHATEVER AFTER 20 YEARS......
& GIVE HILLARY A PASS ON ANY RESPONSIBILITY LIKE THE MORE THAN 20 YEARS SHE DID BUSINESS WITH THE CONVICTED FELONS SUSAN & HER HUSBAND, WHAT SUSAN YOU SAY. HEY, LET ME ANSWER WITH THAT WORD.
THE WORD(S): WHITEWATER
NUFF SAID.

Context. Evaluating what people say, especially when it appears to be something controversial, within a gestalt, or context, takes spiritual maturity.
I would ask those who read what follows from such a place - a place that wishes the best for all...
I am a former chaplain (Caucasian and female) who attended two seminaries and spent part of my life in "The Church."
After reading many of the posts on this latest "Wright" controversy, I decided to check out, not only the church in question, but the reverend's theological training and background. (I was assuming, based on what has been written and reported, that this was possibly some guy who had received his degree from a less-than-reputable seminary and was probably preaching his so-called "Gospel of Hate" out of his own sense of...whatever.)
Come to find out, Rev. Wright received his Master of Divinity degree from the University of Chicago Divinity School. Hmm. Not exactly "fringe" stuff. And also discovered....he received a doctorate from United Theological Seminary (Ohio)...a school that dared to graduate a woman way back in 1886! Wow. Progressive, to say the least.
Then I checked out Trinity's website. Lo and behold, I found nearly 60 specialized ministries meant to support and uplift - including a singles community ministry that even offers a group just for "same gender loving" folk!
More wow. (And where's all that hate?)
So, does this mean I agree with the way Rev. Wright expressed himself on the occasions that have generated so much controversy? No. However, knowing his impeccable theological training, and noting the extensive educational backgrounds of Trinity's staff...
...and noting as well the remarkable ministries they provide to a wide variety of people within and around their community...
...my inclination is to simply try to "walk in his shoes." And remember the era he grew up in. Remember what he probably witnessed. Or experienced directly himself. Oprah? Not even a possibility at that time.
Many are soooo quick to judge and condemn... people. So quick to crucify...people. Without attempting to understand.
Without attempting to open....the heart. And by so doing...
...choose to see only the "flaws." All the while refusing to see any of the grand and glorious.
This is a man who grew a congregation of 72 to a congregation of thousands. A man who, in his own way, attempted to preach the gospel to those who were living a radically different version of "The American Dream." Quite simply: They were his family. And they were hurting.
No, Barack did not withdraw himself from this pastor who allowed his anger to get the best of him on more than one occasion. But I admire the senator for that. Why?
Because I did the withdrawal thing from my family when it became evident our values were different. I was going to show them...that they had to agree with me or else. And it was a mistake. A huge mistake.
Three years later I returned. More mature. More able to look past our points of difference. More able to find our points of commonality. And more able to express love.
Guess what happened? I found, to my surprise, that I actually had more influence on them by sticking around and being myself...modeling those values so dear to me...than I did when I left them, rejected them.
Thank you, Barack, for "getting it." You had to know the political risks of sticking with "your crazy uncle." Yet you chose to anyway. Until the climate got so bad...
I'm sorry things are such that you feel you can no longer even talk with the man without getting condemned, ripped to shreds. Just know, I see the good in him. I didn't take offense. Rather...I tried to understand. And hope I succeeded.
P.S. Thanks, too, for allowing Geraldine the same kind of error by giving context to her remarks as well. Patently absurd comments? Yes. Just like the ones that came from Rev. Wright. But racist? You said no. And I agree. The era they lived through...no doubt played a role here. You recognized such.
Spiritual maturity at its best.

This is rediculous...
Enough is enough.
The entire thing needs to END. I don't care WHO wins, just that someone does. There is too much division for this to be America.
I hate what is happening. I needs to STOP! The only way to end it is for whichever democrat to have the other as VP. It'll at least pacify a large portion of the fighting public. But that's not going to happen either.
