Clinton-Obama War Creates Serious Tensions at DailyKos

March 15, 2008 10:14 AM

This is how ugly things have gotten between supporters of Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama -- Clinton supporters are staging what they call a "strike" at the influential liberal website DailyKos.

It's not really a "strike" -- blogging for these diarists is not a job, and stopping their blogging won't cause them financial hardship.

But, that said, these diarists' boycott of DailyKos is indicative of the turmoil in which the Democratic party finds itself.

Read more on their "strike" HERE.

- jpt

UPDATE: I asked Kos himself, Markos Moulitsas, what he makes of all this.

His response: "First, these people should read up on the definition of 'strike.' What they're doing is a 'boycott.' But whatever they call it, I think it's great. It's a big Internet, so I hope they find what they're looking for."

The point is, we are trying to judge which candidate has the character to be president. Hillary supporters are trying to lay the sins of Obama's minister on him but they turn a blind eye to volumes and volumes of Historical evidence of Clinton transgressions. It's a politcal ploy to distract us from her lack of integrity. Hillary Clinton has the reputation of being the most polarizing person in modern politics. Obama did not create that reputation. Hillary did.go obama 08

You know what "obama supporters," you're in for a damn rude awakening, sooner than later.

I'll tell you what, when someone can say THIS about Bill Clinton, two months ago, and not hear a peep from you or the media, then I know who's hypocritical, and talking out of both sides of their mouth. You're JUST LIKE BUSH SUPPORTERS!:

Sen. Bill Perkins of NY:
"This is not Bill Clinton's backyard or his plantation. Underscore, plantation, underscore backyard."

Does Bill Clinton own slaves? Cuz I personally feel smearing a once-good enough Democratic President in favor of a perceived "black" candidate is pretty racist.

Secondly,

YOU DO NOT ATTEND A CHURCH with a pro-nounced focus on "black values," with a pastor who has been friends with Louis Farrakhan (do you admit he's a racist, and anti-semite, or are you going to lie about that too?) for a long time; a trip to Tripoli in what, 1984? and Wright gave an award to a guy like Farrakhan and called him a great man...this has all been recent, but Obama feigns surprise that his personal friend/mentor for TWENTY YEARS is so racially focused?

Oh please...along with Michelle Obama's thesis on "racial divide" and disappointed that her thesis showed that her fellow black peers lost their "black identity", Wright's close association with Farrakhan, Obama's close association with Wright (for TWENTY YEARS!) coupled with Senator Perkins "plantation" comment pretty much tells me how hypocritical Obama, his supporters, and the mainstream media are.

Furthermore, as a flaming liberal, I'm disgusted that Obama supporters are sucking up what the MSM has to sell them, after we've spent the last 7 years denouncing them for giving bush cover on EVERYTHING.

You people are ridiculous.

Obama may in fact still take the nomination as the Super Delegates would support him if he murdered his wife, but the real deal that will seal his fate will be in the general election. Obama should bow out now, let Hillary have it and lets move on

Our pledge of allegiance states that we are one nation under God, indivisible, with liberty and justice for all. When you think about these words, if you are an honest person then you have to admit that they are not true, because we are divided, we don't all have the same liberties and there is certainly not justice for all.

Right now a large number of white Americans are outraged at the words of the Rev. wright, while a large amount of black Americans are wondering what they are outraged about.

A lot of white Americans see his remarks as racist and unpatriotic, they feel that he hates whites and America.

A lot of black Americans feel that his remarks have some truth to them. That We have bombed several nations for our own selfish reasons, we have killed many innocent men, women, and children.

When he said that America's chickens were coming home to roost after 911, most white people took that to mean that he is saying that America deserved to be attacked.

Most black people look at it as a what's good for the goose is good for the gander type of issue, that just like America loves it's citizens and think it was unfair for someone to kill thousands of innocent people in the workd trade center, then those other countries love their citizens too and America can't go around the Globe creating chaos and not expcect somenone to strike back at us.

The Rev. Wright didn't lie about these things. When he said that Hillary didn't grow up as a little black boy with a single mother, Hillary never had to watch a cab whizz past her because of the color of her skin, Hillary has never been called that offensive word, all of those statrments are true and the only thing racial about them are the actions that many in this country take against people of color.

The remarks that most people saw on tv and the internet were excerpts taken from two different speeches and the editors did't show what Mr. wright said before or after those comments. The media did this on purpose to incite anger among whites and for a large part it has worked. But the honest white people are not angered, only saddened that this great country of ours in 2008 is still so racially divided. They are saddened that a good man is being wrongly condemned because of the words of another that make some people uncomfortable.

I have heard so many people say that the world is watching our election process, I say, God is watching and I don't think he is pleased, and I think that is why he has been trying to get our attention and we need to wake up and listen. For example; There was a terrible storm in Atlanta over the weekend that people are saying "came from out of nowhere"
Devastating tornadoes struck four states on Super Tuesday. There was a really bad snow storm in Ohio the day after the primaries there. there were snowstorms and wild fires after the Texas primaries , there are more incidences also, but the words I have heard after every one of these instances were "We have never seen anything like it"

Gas prices are out of control, thousands of people are losing their homes and jobs, groceries are so expensive that many people who once could eat a healthy diet can no longer afford to do so. Our dollar is constantly falling in value, Our education system is steadily getting worse and crime is rampant. Until America recognizes the wrongs we have done and continue to do and don't try to rectify them, this nation as a whole is going to continue to suffer.

II Chronicles 7:14 If my people which are called by name shall humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from Heaven and forgive their sin and heal their land.

I find it rather ironic that Clinton supporters are suggesting that "These Obama-bots will vote for B.O. no matter what, they'll even cheat in the caucuses for him. They don't listen to reason. In fact I don't think many of them have any frontal lobes in their brains, just operate from somewhere in the limbic system." After the "3:AM" ads, do we really need to ask who is operating from a fight or flight mindset?

Posted by: Dave | Mar 16, 2008 10:50:04 AM

obama has handled Hillary quiet well.
she can't catch him.she's done!her protest are just that.

she can go back to the senate and live out the rest of her days as the junior senator of new york.

Regardless of who does better in November this nomination race is over. Yesterday,Obama picked up as many additional delegates in IOWA as Hilary did in winning Ohio. This is a delegate race and it's over.FIGURE IT OUT!!!!

Can someone point out just one example of Obama demonstrating good judgement? You can't use the Iraq war vote because Obama has already stated he didn't know how he would have voted because he wasn't in the senate at that time and didn't see the intelligence reports (even though he gave a speech in 2002 being against the war--a speech is not the same as a vote). I'm seeing several examples of Obama's poor judgement that include his relationship with Rezko and purchasing the house/land deal, drugs/sex story and Larry Sinclair, and Rev. Wright's inflamatory sermons, etc...
Please point out one example of good judgement of Obama that has nothing to do with the Iraq war.

Obama should ust try to bow out gracefully. The long-term, close personal relationship with Reverend Wright is a nail in the coffin for the Democrats to claim the White House. There is no place for those sermons that have been blasphemous, hate mongering, and anti-american. It's insulting that Obama says he wasn't aware of the Reverend's comments. If the media finds the "smoking gun" of Obama, his wife and/or children being at one or more of these sermons then it's over for him as people will realize not only his very poor judgement in selecting friends/advisors but that he is lying about it now.

ATTENTION; Delegates/Super-Delegates, Do you see what Hillary has done since S.C.? For Praising McCain who is a Republican, to her Racist Comments, she should be BOOTED from the Democratic Party

Posted by: Demo Rules | Mar 16, 2008 7:46:51 AM

At this point, I'm thinking that McCain can have David Duke as a running mate and still beat the Dems... even if they forced the two into a so-called dream ticket.

Every week, it seems as if the two Dem nominees have found more ammo to ensure a Republican victory. Is this some sort of weird but brilliant strategy to over-expose the candidates so much that if the public found out that either one performed animal sacrifices, we would only shrug it off?

I can't wait to find out Hillary's tax forms: did she donate to the Nation of Islam? Did she make millions speculating on the mortgage bubble bursting? Is she part owner with Bill in the Empire Club? Is she in fact client no. 8?

Stay tuned for another chapter in "Primary Colors II - the Unauthorized Sequel"

Obama needs to step down, he can never be elected now. I thought he had a great chance but after the preacher and his good friend in jail in chicago, man i dont think so. Obama cant sit there with a straight face and tell us he never heard this preacher say these things before or had not heard them , because he has said he listens to the disk of his preachings. I just cant buy that one at all, SORRY!!!!

Posted by: JACK SLOAN | Mar 16, 2008 3:03:44 AM

Obama should be commended for his ability to appreciate the good in people despite their flaws or certain of their beliefs. America needs more people like this.

Every ne of us is a mixed bag, as is America. We are all imprefect. America is imperfect. We all could improve ourselves. America could be improved in the same way.

One of the biggest flaws I see in America is peoples' inability to get along with (and tendency to demonize) others who think or believe differently than they do.

We need a president who can promote tolerance of differences. We need a president who supports people for their strengths, despite their flaws. We need a president who doesnt divide and judge people on oversimplistic criteria. We need a president with the courage to see the world in more gradations than just black and white.

Jesus did just that. He was someone who encouraged, above all else, acceptance of others. He mingled with people regardless of their class or status. And he spoke against judging one another (in the sense of condeming someone).

Some things to think about.

darlin, you said "What's all the hoopla about here anyway about some preacher? I just read that obama got another 9 delegates from Iowa and net 3 from california. Which makes him lead Clinton by like - what? 155 pledged delegates? with several superdelegates leaning to throwing in their lot with the leader?"

The answer - kool-aid.

Hillary will mist up and shed some tears in Pennsylvania, touting her ONE year working as an advocate for the Children's Fund before spending EIGHTEEN years as a corporate lawyer and serving double digit numbers of years on the board for Walmart. She will ask older white women from the working class to send her money, because she has loaned five million dollars of her many millions to her campaign. She will not release her tax returns or her WH files. She will insinnuate that the she is having a tougher in the US as the very rich white wife of the President of the US than a black man raised by a teen single parent, bearing the name "Barack Obama." Her surrogates, including her co-president partner, Bill, will use the gender and race cards. The Clinton dynasty's ads will feature the fear and slime politics of personal destruction, including the scorched earth politics that is destroying the Democratic Party. In the meantime, the party elders like John Edwards, Al Gore and Nancy Pelosi sit on their hands and watch the Roman circus proceed and the imperial Clinton co-presidents move on to an unconstitutional eight more years in the WH.

We should have expected Obama to be swift boated on the issue of the reverend. I kind of doubt that there is a single black person in the country who didn't at some point in their life find comfort at a church much like wright's. I saw some of the tapes, and heard nothing beyond what we all know. Yes, it's a racist society in lots of places, and yes, it's enough to make people's blood boil. But instead of ranting and raving all day long, they tolerate the indnigites during the week, then attend a find black church on the week end with some proper fiery sermon, and that helps exorcise the devil. Which devils BTW seem to be lurking big time on this board. many probably the same crowd whp cheered on the military - with its disproportionately many black soldiers - to just go on into Iraq and bring them some of that good american democracy medicine.

Get used to it - you all - Obama will be our next president. There really is no other choice...

Obama is: charasmatic, gives people hope, is a very talented speaker, promises big change, rallies the people, and has overzealous followers, ……………… Sounds a little like Adolf Hitler, doesn’t it.
I mean, really, think about that! No, Obama has no plans of genocide, but don’t be blind like the Germans of the 1930s. NO politician is a savior. NO politician has the power to solve all our problems. NO politician can change things by himself, unless he is a dictator like Hitler was.
Please consider that as you decide who you’ll vote for. Remember the old saying, “If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.”
