For Her the Bell Tolls,* by Sen. Hillary Clinton
March 25, 2008 11:19 AM
The First Lady took off her flak jacket, discarding it like a blanket on a hot night.
Bosnian sniper bullets awaited her on the ground.
"That below," said Sinbad, motioning to Tuzla as the plane descended.
"Is war," the First Lady said. "In war, it is necessary to have discipline."
"And to live under that discipline it is necessary we will die?" asked Sheryl Crow.
She clutched her guitar as if it were her child.
"Without discipline we will all die anyway," said the First Lady.
The airplane began to dip.
"How are you so brave in the face of death?" asked a sergeant.
"I've done this before," she said. "I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base."
The sergeant turned to her.
"Isn't it pretty to think so?" he asked.

Keith Obamamann went into a rage about this stuff last night ranting (nearly screaming)that Clinton should be 100% right on these things if she's running on her experience.
OK - so is Obama 100% proven in the areas that he's running on??
Judgement:like having a friend like Rezko for 17 years and engaging in boneheaded real estate deal with him?
Change - like the kind of change he did not try to bring about in his segregationist church?
And oh so much more..

Brilliant, Jake. Please make it available everywhere fine blogs are shown....
I love this. And Hemingway would too.

Hillary should have promised Sinbad the Secretary of State job before she started pushing her Bosnian Adventure Tale.

Where is the Digg button??? This deserves to be seen by everyone! Best blog entry of the campaign season...

People supporting Hillary and then in the same paragraph talking about Bush's war ought to remember that Hillary voted for the war when she considered it politically expedient to do so. Blame her too for the war then.

Holy Crapola, that is funny!! Excellent work Jake.

or the moral of the story is that if Hillary answers the phone we should make sure Sinbad is in the room...I think he is available to make sure she doesn't misspeak... or "her mind (and McCains)doesn't play tricks on her."
...or us.
restore the beacon that America was and is...President Obama in the fall.

Oh man is this funny stuff. Clinton writes with such passion. Crow is clutching her guitar as if it were a child. Wow! Hillary should become a writer.

So the moral is the story is that Sinbad should be the one who answers the Red Phone at 3am.

we will stop trying to make her into Laura Bush if you and she stop trying to make her into Winston Churchill...ar at the least you try making her in to Bill Clinton...
she was not involved in the actual negotiating and her spousal involvement may be the same level as Nancy Reagan in the later years or Barabra Bush for that matter...
this is not a woman like Condie rice...or Madeline Albright
this is not a woman like Nancy Pelosi or Ann Richards...
her roll tried to be involved with policy, once and failed...and even that they kept it all hidden so we have no idea why she failed.
Her role was as First Lady. That is someone with access to the president... I wouldn't have voted for someone who was his attache either.
On experience ...she loses to mcCain... on judgement and her own accomplishments she loses to Sen Obama.
As we are paying for now with both the war and Michigan anfd florida becoming a hornets nest (if she was so for the people and has such good judgement why did she not fight for them when it counted...and only when it counted for her...sounds like her judgement is based on getting to be President)

"...the mind can play tricks on your memories...." Posted by: Roger Miller Mar 25, 2008 12:20:31 PM--
LOL!, Roger. Her mind isn't playing tricks on her memories: Her mind is playing tricks on OUR MEMORIES!

Toby...you are right, it wasn't all tea and coffee. There was a lot of lying, cheating, and stealing...you know, the Clinton way!

If Hillary has lied about something that is so obviously simple to discredit, how many more lies are in waiting. The Clinton tax returns and Clinton library donor records would be nice. It is hard to believe that they went from broke to a net worth of between 10 & 50 million dollars with no liabilities. The Bush adminstration has been very good to them or it is more likely that the ex-prez took advantage of his connections to coin money like no other ex-prez before him.

Everyone trying to make like everything Hillary did as First lady was teas & coffee meeting. This was a misstatement after 12 years. She had a office in the West Wing of the White House with the decision makers. She was no Laura Bush so stop trying to make her into Laura Bush.

This is what happened to Al Gore. They made a big deal of exaggerations and helped elect George W. Bush.
Now, what do we have? Iraq war. 4000+ soldiers died. 500+ Billions spent. why? Because journalists' ignored their duty to the country.
Now, they are making a big deal of what Hillary spoke. Does Jake Tapper and others know that the mind can play tricks on your memories and reinforce or mute certain memories.
Why don't they talk to leading experts in that field.
My feeling is that most of these journalists are not very smart and try to think of themselves as super intelligent.

We should hold our leaders accountable. We see what lying got us into in Iraq.
Posted by: james | Mar 25, 2008 12:18:37 PM
So what how many trips do you think she took as first lady this is all bs she is smart well traveled and her husband was the only two term President since FDR . And you can't tell me that as first lady she didn't know what was going on BO has no where near the experience she has he needs to run now so he doesn't have a record to bad they don't get along cause it could be sixteen years of smart Dem's in office and thas what it is going to take to get us out of this depression we are headed for go read Only Yesterday and maybe you will understand the trouble we are facing.

Who cares? This is from 12 years ago? Do you remember what you did 12 years ago in specific details? Obama lied(just last week) about not hearing hateful anti-American, anti-white comments from his former pastor the Rev. Jeremiah Wright. He sat silent in a pew for 20 years listening to Wright's racial rants. Yes, lets give Obama an even bigger platform to spew this hatred to our country. Obama is a liar and a hypocrite, but has the audacity to divert the public's attention by orating the historical relevance of racism?
The issue isn't race. The issue is his lack of honesty. We have had a "liar and denier" president for the last eight years. The only "change" Sen. Obama offers is that the lying and denying will be done in an extremely silver-tongued, eloquent manner.
Vote Obama..." LIES YOU CAN BELIEVE IN"

You should add this line:
"This Tuzla thing is as bad as a gang fight between the Bloods and Crips, said Sinbad, the comedian who's last television gig was during Bill Clinton's first term."

Roger Miller
Just because you are lsot in this blind faith of these two self-empowering political figures... doesn't mean that when a reporter reports something that is negative against the Clintons...that is true...
and he has said things in the opposite direction to...
but it just so happens this is so small considering the lists of problems that the press does not cover with the Clintons...
Can you not see this is a candidate with a long list of ethical questions and unfortunately we have been blinded by our own arguments with the Republican party that we do not see that negative stories toward the Clintons may be more true than not true.
But out of our own arguments we have placed them on a pedestal that they are far from deserving. This is a couple that is rocked over and over by lies and scandal. The republican party disd not have enough time , or people or connections to create all the scandals and situations involving the Clintons...
and neither does Sen. Obama...but the Clintons have shown over and over they will trash anyone that tries to come up against their own political power.
For your kids and grandkids...you have to wake up.
