Obama Implies Clinton Thinks It's Her 'Turn' to Be President
March 27, 2008 4:00 PM
At a $1,000-a-head fundraiser at the Credit Suisse building in New York City today, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, took a brand new whack at Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, adding to his usual construct that he “decided to run not because of some long-held ambitions or because I thought it was somehow owed to me" the notion that "certainly I wasn’t presumptuous enough to think it was my turn."
Obama also pooh-poohed the notion that Democratic divisiveness would hurt the part come November, saying the primary and caucus process “has gotten people engaged in politics who were never engaged before or who had forgotten what it’s like to be passionate about politics...“I am absolutely confident that by the time this thing is over, the Democratic party will be completely unified."
He added, "for those of you who are just weary of the primary, and feeling kind of ground down or that it’s like a Bataan death mark, I just want everybody to know that the future is bright.”

Where have you people been?..
Are you paying attention or just listening to your local news outlets.
Bill & Hillary Clinton attended jeremiah wright's church and even invited him to the white house do some research and see what i'm talking about.
What do you mean when one states it's not his turn?.. I thought that anyone over 35 can run for the presidency? And as far as Mr. Obama not being qualified what has Hillary done during her 8 yrs. iIn the white house?.. She had no say in policy or did she veto any policies that came across bill's desk?... Did she sit-in at high level meetings?.. i think not... People pay attention do not let the media dupe you.. I actually like Hillary and had a chance to meet her and Bill here in NY last year but i ddon't think she is the one.. Mr. Obama has new ideas and i'm sure he'll assemble an administration that will be top shelf and all he has to do is make major decisions like that FOOL that we have in office now and what Bill did during his reign it's not the presidency...IT's the PEOPLE THAT HE CHOOSES to be apart of his team that will help him lead this country out of the shame and hate that BUSH has put us in. We are HATED around the world because of this man and all he is thinking about is his OIL BUDDIES that have a major stake on what's going on in this crazy world that's why we are in IRAN.. Once Again.. I'll Ask are you paying attention!

I really get a kick out of reading all of you bickering back and forth. You all sound like a bunch of elementary school kids....and "bullies", at that. No wonder the world is in such bad shape, with all this "hatred" from people like you all. What ever happened to "love one another"? I guess this is what happens when you take religion out of schools...you see how you act. The terrorists said we would destroy ourselves from "within"...it is definitely happening. Sit back, read and listen to all the previous comments. Where does all this "hatred" come from? Some of you need to read your bible and "cool down". This is just an election......not the end of the world! But the way all you "fuss and carry on"...then maybe it is???? I will pray for you all.....you definitely need someone to. God Bless You all....you need it.

and he is insulting my black people also, he and crew have convienced the black community-a vote for him will make their lot better. it will not. He will owe so many people positions and favors because-when you do not know much or anything you have to rely on the kindness of others. and that is what he has had to do.
Black Brother and Sister in PA, NC,
WVA, Indiana, and others left to vote please do not give your vote away blindly-what has he said he will do to help our community. Hillary has been shoulder to shoulder working on issues that help poor and black people-let obama go back to chicago and increase his political resume by doing something for the people in his state, first.
Vote for the most qualified-that is how your lot in life will change. not because of the color of a person skin.
Vote Hillary-in your best interest

Sorry, Soup. They won't listen to you. the masses are to riled up with pitch forks and torches and nothing's going to stop them until they get to Dr. Frankenstein's castle...even if they destroy the village to get there.

I don't blame Mrs Pepitone for being so angry at Obama. After all,Obamas pastor called her and all Italians "garlic noses."Thus far Obama has managed to insult Italians,Jews, and all white people in general. Is this a way to unite our country?

the more obama opens his mouth and has to backtrack on first one thing and then another-clearly shows he only has HIS and his handlers interest at heart.
When critizing Hillary I wish obama supporters would start their sentences off: saying-He should win because his plan for (you fill in the issue) is this or that.
But you can't because he has to wait until hillary puts out her plan.
because he only copies hillary
Hillary is smarter than Obama. she has a good command of the issues-and he stumbles when asked a question about the issues. He only has his own interest at heart.

Damn right it's Hillary's turn to be President .... because she is the most qualified person TODAY. This country is in a complex mess right now -- economic recession, declinding education standards, shattered foreign relations, and a failing war. Obama is completely unqualified TODAY to do anything except insire people through rhetroic ... and at the end of the day, though, what does this rhetoric accomplish? How does inspiring people change the economy? or repair foreign relations? or decrease costs in the health care system? It does NOT. What works is hard, tenacious fighting ... and we all know from the past few weeks that Hillary Clinton is a hard-nosed, tenacious fighter (no one can dispute that). You may not want to go out for a beer with her and call her your 'pal' .... but I'd rather have Hillary in the White House answering that phone at 3 am (while I'm out drinking beer with my pal Obama)! Besides, there is NO doubt that with Hillary as the nominee, Barack Obama will be her running mate (it's her logical choice). We get Hillary today, and Barack Obama will gain 8 years of experience to earn HIS turn at the presidency (when he is ready) in 2016. By then, Hillary will have cleaned up all these messes, and Barack can take us to a higher level of unification and peace. Think about it, people .... killer democratic presidents from 2008 to 2024. What a wonderful world ....

Hillary will be our next president because the country needs her.
Obama is one of those ultra liberals that believes in receiving something for nothing. He is simply not ready to be president and yes Hillary has earned it.

One more thing: the position of President is NOT an entitlement, want it though they may. It is a position of willing servitude. The President of The United States is in the service of the People of The United States, not the other way around. It is the highest honor to be elected to that position, but lest these politicans forget ( and to often the people forget as well), it is a position that can also be taken away. That McCain, Clinton, and Obama wish to be "hired" for that position is noble. BUT IT AIN'T ENTITLED TO ANYONE! I don't care who you are. So I say again: get off the Enquire-style crack the media's been putting in the Kool-Aid and talk about the issues. Vote for who you want WITHOUT the name calling and hateful negativity because if you don't, the ground your party sits on (with it's renewed enthusiasm to get more of its constituents engaged in politics again) won't be able to grow another thing for a decade, so irradiated it will be. We Independents will be watching.

I don't know if American's problems are based on too much education. I remember the founding fathers of this nation saying, "You don't have to be a scholar, a doctor, teacher, e.t.c" to become a president of this great nation. That all that is required is a heart full of love. I am simply saying that anyone of us can be the president of the USA as long as we know for a fact that we are all created equal in the site of God, and that what ever is good for Mr. A, should be good also for Mr. B, and vice versa. The issue of experience on Sen. Hilary's part is baseless the fact is that she has no pure judgment when it comes to making decisions, her judgment is clouded by the needs coming from the lobbyist sponsoring her campaign as long as she has those ties she can not lift America out of this mess. Obama on the other hand has made decision that mattered most to you and I, stopping the members of the house from eating free meals at the expense of our birthright, and making well know to us that the war in Iraq will use up our social security savings and make indebted to the rest of the world. To me that is pure judgment, that is well thought of. Please people open your eyes and see the truth and not the experience. Sen. Hilary is a pure politician, while Obama has our interest at heart.

Well at least 'Salad' read my post and didn't get caught in this web of destruction. Maybe that's what's wrong with our country - we're so hellbent on being right we can't see when we are wrong. People put away the guns, drop the slanders, stop the bickering - your pride isn't at stake here. This is an election where we are to debate topics - nothing more. You are being spun and it's not by the other candidates. It's by the media and by dishonest blogging. Stop and do your own research. Don't let Wolf or someone else tell you what to think. That item on your head is useful for something other than a megaphone. Use it and we'll become a better society - NO MATTER WHO WINS. We have the power to tell THEM what we want. We have the power to HAVE our country back. This isn't about who is the figure head at the moment it's about us and what we can do. If we're always berating one another we'll never see past ANY OF THEIR LIES. And yes they all have them just like I would if I were in that type of spotlight. Close your mouths, open your ears, and your mind will follow. Be smart and stop acting like we're in elementary school.
You know what - Screw it you can have this sinking ship I'm off to somewhere were I can make my own choices and have a better life. The elite class has succeeded in creating a country of self-righteous dupes who will destroy each other to the THEIR way. Look around you what are we fighting about? This is like arguing over the toilet seat placement - WORTHLESS. I can only say this - today I am ashamed to be even remotely involved with our society. Now before you say I'm anti-american think about the EXACT wording I used. I am for what the country stands for as a Democracy. I believe in Equality for EVERYONE. I believe in the Constitution. I believe in Free Markets. I don't believe in destroying anyone to "get mine" or make my point. Nor do I believe that anyone else should be undermining me with that type of action. Our society is destroying itself with our actions. Please Please stop this nonsense before we self implode.

Obama is the one who thinks it is his turn to be president because he is black...It is the old race card again..I am black so I deserve every thing or else. He is a Jesse Jackson clone..
NO OBAMA TODAY, NO OBAMA TOMORROW, NO OBAMA NEXT MONTH and NO OBAMA IN 08..

Well, let's see how racist we can get. It's no wonder other countries are sitting back and laughing at us. If this is the sort of rhetoric Stella & Mariann Pepitone are taking into the voting booth, I can only say this country is headed for more strife and grief. So much for the "Great American Melting Pot" our beautiful country stands for. Word of advice ladies: pick your candidate for the issues they stand for and leave the racist crap out of it; the country doesn't need it. Meanwhile, cooler and far more calmer and "maturer" heads (independent/democratic/republican)will let the politics sort itslef out (minus all the media hoopla you two seem to buy in to and get worked up over...on BOTH candidates)...and make our decision in November.
Posted by: Eric | Mar 28, 2008 2:06:19 PM
I have been a democrat for a long time
but if Obama is the nomienee in November
I will not vote at all- Obama is not following the script of Kinnedy or Carter he is following Bushes script-he is also arrogant.
I think he should have a swit made of red, white and blue.Whats with all the flags be hind him every time he talk to a group.
What has Obama done to deserve to be Presedent? does Obama think that he is entitle to be President because he is half black. If Clinton drops out of the race and Obama wins--- it will not unite the democratic party or the Country. But it will put McCan in the white house.

Obama is sooo enjoyable to watch. A++ Charisma -- much more camara friendly than either Clinton or McCain. The tv media should get behind his presidency -- if for no other reason than that he will be great for their ratings.
Posted by: Laura | Mar 28, 2008 1:40:36 PM
Lets vet the candidates by any other criteria that the Clintons suggest except the criteria defined in the constitution.
Obama can and most likely will win in November.
The Clinton legacy will not win this election.

Best line I've read in weeks. Wish I could credit the original source:
"Hillary claiming executive experience is like Yoko claiming to have been a Beatle."
Still ROTFLMAO

What give Obama the idea that he should be president. He hasn't been around long enough to get the experience and knowledge to run this country. Hillary and McCain can throw rings around him when it comes to intelligence. Obama wouldn't know what to do from day one. His pep talk copied speeches has the white and black people fooled. But I am no way fooled by him. I can read him like a book without the cover. He uses some of Hillary's words in a round about way and other president's. He has the nerve to campaign for president of this country and attending a racist church for 20 years. But it shouldn't surprise me, he was a racist as a young boy and it is in his book. He did not like the white people and yet the white people are dumb enough and I mean dumb, to vote for him. They should vote for their own race like the blacks vote for Obama. And knowing his pastor was anti-american they shouldn't vote for him at all.

Yes, it's Hillary's turn, so waht?
Posted by: golfgirlusa | Mar 28, 2008 12:34:34 PM
It's obvious that she feels like it's her turn and that he's encroaching on what she is entitled to. It's been clear to me since the beginning that she resents him having the nerve to run and challenge what she sees as rightfully hers. Obama is simply stating the obvious here.
