Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Poll Dance:
I agree with most of the comments that the media has been unfair to Sen. Clinton. Its only Obama that they are covering and even with this negative thing about Wright, they are saying it has not affected him but it has. Have friends who were Obama supporters before no longer favoring him because they cannot believe somebody who has been with the pastor for 20 years do not believe in the same things. Tell that to the Marines. CNN is the number one promoter of Obama, which is why I dont watch the channel anymore. Its obama's face in CNN everyminute. It should be boycotted for being so unfair.

I, too, am troubled over the inequity of the media in favoring Obama. It's so bloody obvious. They've gone out of their way to protect Obama over the Wright issue, even giving faulty headlines like "Obama Not Hurt over Wright", etc.. BALONEY. Obama CANNOT win the general election. Conversely they are all over Clinton over the silly Bosnia thing. PUH-lease. In the beginning I was for Obama but now I'm 100% for Hillary. This whole Bosnia crap is the final straw. The media is trying to destroy her now and it will backfire with Clinton supporters big time.

The Commander Guy: re:Connecticut and the Quinnipiac poll, they did thier poll during the day, when most people are at work. They were on my caller ID for 11:30am. So if you are not a blue collar stiff that is when that sample was taken. Plus most once core democrates in Connecticut are in that 26% that are turning to McCain if Obama is the nom. I for one don't even want to even be in the same party as the man and already switched my registration.

Some other Polls jump out at you today too.
Rassmussen has McCain winning Oregon against HRC. Obama thumps him there though. Is Washington McCain country too against HRC?
Also Hillary is barely hanging on to California (PPI) and Connecticut (Quinnipiac) within the margin of error against McCain.
You gotta wonder what the people of Connecticut have against Hillary. But I guess they have their reasons.

The One number from the WSJ/NBC poll that stands out the most is the APPROVAL rating for HRC.
Her approval rating is down to 37%. It is just slightly higher than GWB.
Man that's bad. But I guess people know her and have made up their minds.
Posted by: The Commander Guy | Mar 27, 2008 3:58:08 PM
Yeah, spin damage control for BO's spiral downward. Obama's numbers have gone down and NBC/Wallstreet decide to poll on Hillary's approval numbers out of 700 people. The one thing I learned in statistics; You can work the numbers any way to make any argument. The sample selection is key. I understand a huge part of the sampling was African American participants who supported Obama but would vote for Clinton if she became the nominee. The thing that always cracks me up with the Polls is how it's interpreted as percent and verbalized with "32% OF AMERICANS". Seven hundred people does not constitute "all" Americans.
Posted by: Priscilla | Mar 27, 2008 3:49:47 PM
After reading pages 12 and 13 of the NBC/WSJ poll on the Obama pastor, the damage to the Barack Obama candidacy is far worse than the media is admitting.
On the question if Hillary Clinton is alienating African-American voters, I was surprise to find 63 % of African American voters indicated having a very positive(29%) or somewhat positive (34%) feeling toward Senator Clinton.
Also, Barack Obama negatives among all voters double since 2007.
Question No. 16 clearly indicates voters having doubts on Barack Obama candidacy.

Most polls do not take into accounts the large numbers of Latinos and Asians that will under NO CIRCUMSTANCES VOTE FOR OBAMA.That will make it very difficult for him to win California,New Jersey,Florida and Washinton state, where there is the largest concentration of Asian voters.Once Hillary is the Demo nominee, she will win all those states easily in November.

Typical White woman from Texas. I have a Masters Degree, as well as my husband. I am also African American, I wouldn't vote for Obama if he were the only one in the race. His camp spread that propaganda about the ill educated voting for Hillary. His ignorance, as well as his arrogance sickens me. They spread that crap and the America public buys it. I am one of the ones that will be endorsing McCain if Obama is nominated. Being I am a PROFESSIONAL there are a vast majority of us within my profession that will be endorsing McCain as well.

Poll numbers are small samples which change daily. Assuming election results from them is almost the equivalent of tea reading. Rest assured, the polling will be shifting a lot between now and April 16
Posted by: katrina | Mar 27, 2008 1:30:01 PM
I'm not surprised that more Hillary people would vote for McCain when Obama gets the nomination.
They have been given a steady diet of negative propaganda that seems to work well on the less educated or older white folks steeped in racism. Some of them may stick with their convictions, but I seriously doubt they would actually vote for McCain. They would probably stay home before that.
One thing for sure is a large number of the Obama supporters that say they would vote for McCain WILL if Hillary strong arms or buys the nomination. There are a large percentage of those voters who despise Hillary's tactics and all the Clinton baggage they would bring back to the White House.
As a former Republican voter, I was surprised (when working volunteer events for Obama in Texas) at how many people, black and white, that were Republicans supporting Obama. We are a strong core base for him regardless of what the pundits say. We chose him in the beginning and we are staying with him.
Obama has a large core group of idependent thinkers of today regardless of race and not the blind followers of yesterday.

To save the Democrats, it is time for Obama to drop out.

Saw Gov. Rendell on PBS with Charlie Rose yesterday night, he said "Keith Oberman should be on Obama's payroll".
Very true.
And with so much, so constant and so massive media negative campaign against Clinton, it would be a surprise if people and polls are not affected.
Remember media during Iraq war?

I don't think Obama will ever carry the states of Florida and Michigan in the general election if he blocks them voting in the primary. Looks like he's shooting himself in the foot. I watched Greta last night and she had a young man on that told of Hillarys' and Obamas' "misspokes" and she couldn't hold the light to Obama. It was really no comparison to what he has mistruthed about and Hillarys' Bosnia episode. The general that had such a hard on for her is strictly military and I didn't put too much thought into his irate remarks. Just another blowhard wanting to get in on the fame of this election. Probably thinks he has spoiled her chances of getting the nomination. Not so as far as I'm concerned. If I need someone in my corner I sure would like for it to be her. She is one tough woman. The jerk that thinks the question asked of Chelsea is exactly that, a JERK! That's an nunya dead issue.

Jackson,
you said "Well, 31% of Clinton supporters will not vote for Obama ... this is not a negative for Clinton ... it is a BIG negative for NObama."
I have a feeling that there will be more and more republicans that will choose to vote for Oboma that may very well offset that 31%. However I do have a geat deal of respect for both Hillary and Bill as well as McCain.

If Gov. Clinton and the people running against him in 92 (kerrey and paul tsongas...) had "let the campaign play out" in the primaries there is a highly probable chance with all the scandals going on he would have never been President because the long fight would have hurt him that bad...
but his opponents then both put the party and country first.
Posted by: dl | Mar 27, 2008 10:44:17 AM
Well, 31% of Clinton supporters will not vote for Obama ... this is not a negative for Clinton ... it is a BIG negative for NObama.
Clinton gets bad press if she is tough .. and bad press if she is not ... so what is new?
She will be our next President ... and will probably be one of our best so far!!

Time the American people wised up......Thanks.
As far as the question asked about Billy boys love affair.I think the kid had a right to ask this question...If you play in the arena with the dogs you will get bit, like Billy said, if you can't take the heat you should not be here.Words from her own Fathers mouth.Again two sets of rules one for the Clinton's and one for us Bu-- she is fair game

What amazes me is that no one is allowing “democracy” to play out. The democrats would rather dictate who should win, and when someone should bow out of a “democratic” race. Obama has even aggressively blocked voices from being heard. (FL and Michigan should vote McCain across the board)
The entire Democratic nomination process is undemocratic to begin with. I guess, why not tarnish it further?
The caucuses are anti-democratic. The elderly, single parents, families, in general, the handicapped, etc, could never “waste” their time hanging around “bargaining” for who should be the nominee versus the “right” person. Bribery and bullying to get others to agree with you on politics is so anti-democratic.
The superdelegates are anti-democratic. Why on earth would we allow elitist’s to decide for us? They know better than we do? How patronizing.
An additional comment: Hillary could actually win the nominee if the media covered her as they covered Obama for the past year. Hiding information, projecting their own views without true reporting at all. What say we push for Hillary for the next few months via the media outlets and see how the race would flip overnight?
What a shame.
Congratulations President McCain.

When military generals have doubt about a candidate honesty, then it is over becasue that candidate cannot be a trusted "Commander in Chief". The General who was taking care of Hillary's visit to Bosnia was unhappy and disappointed because the good work he and his men have done to protect Hillary and Chealsy were presented under a "I mispoke". Polls are clear anybody who has these high negatives like Hillary is not electable in general elections. So Hillary does not have the pledged delegates, not the popular vote, not the big number of countries, etc. God Bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

There will be another poll out this afternoon showing something different. What is important is that the voters in this country have the chance to choose who they see best qualified to be president. All of this name calling most people don't care about. It is just a distraction, but I do see the media is back to bashing Clinton in every way possible. Obama needs a pillow cause of the Wright contraversy and so they have to go back to beating up on Cinton.
Posted by: Michael | Mar 27, 2008 10:08:53 AM
actually that poll says that it "oversampled" african americans...and it polled too few Latinos to even show what they thought. It is highly flawed. Sorry. I can take a good poll with bad news for Clinton but not a bad poll with bad news for Clinton (or Obama).
Posted by: tony | Mar 27, 2008 10:06:54 AM
Ok,
You Obama supporters really want a fight? Well, you'll have it.
I'm sick and tired of this nonsense. Clinton does not decide whether I can vote or not. As a Floridian, I make that decision. If my vote is not counted, I will do everything I can to re-expose Obama for the facist that he is.
So, do you still want a fight. How about if we continue talking about the lunetic racist Rev. Wright and the fact that Obma sat in the pews for 20 years exposing his children to hate speeches?
How about Obama's involvement with William C. Ayers, the self-proclaimed Pentagon Terrorist?
How about the disgraced Tony Rezko who gave $140,000 to Obama?
So, if you want a fight, bring it on. Otherwise, keep your mouth shut and let us in Florida and Michigan exercise our constitutional rights.

It's funny to see how Hillary supporters question a poll with bad news for HRC.
Don't they realize that lying and fabricating experience stories are much more damaging to a candidate than any "guilt by association" accusation?
There was no pressure on Clinton that would excuse her to twist things a bit. Lying about her experience was her own initiative, and that's why most voters will no longer believe anything she comes up with to highlight herself.
It was the dumbest thing to do. Now ALL her experience claims are down the toilet. For if you HAVE the right experience, why would you focus on fabricated fantasies?

Well, Good Morning America Poll?
Give me a break! There are a total of 12 people who watch that show.
If you want real poll numbers, check out Rasmussen, Gallop, etc.
Hillary is still leading in the national poles.

The difference between the candidates can be summed up in what Bill Clinton said in WV. No problem "lets go have an argument" That is how politics is done in America"
Barack's position is lets have a dialog.
The clintons "the us against them" politics that has not benefited the american people only the politicians benefit. This started during the Clinton administration and has caused bitterness between Republican and Democrats since. Just what we need, it doesn't take strength to fight, it takes more strenght to unite and the Clintons don't have that kind of strength.

How about a discussion of the "over sampling" of the African Americans?
Posted by: AnnL | Mar 27, 2008 9:49:32 AM
Hillary will not recover. And she's totally losing her grip on the subject of our enonomy. Which she can't afford.
Michael Bloomberg stood side by side with Obama for the second time in four months today. He introduced Obama at his speech on the economy at Cooper Union College.
They have spent time with each other in the past, but Bloomberg's latest appearance with Obama is fueling speculation about whether the mayor will officially endorse the presidential candidate.

"But voters seem to care about the name-calling and the tackles. In a recent Gallup poll, almost 30 percent of Clinton supporters say they'd go for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., over Obama if Clinton loses the nomination"
They simply do not get it. We will switch because McCain is moderate and and patriotic unlike the Obamas

Out side of on line polls how many people here have ever been polled? they should have a poll on the polls
Posted by: Bishop | Mar 27, 2008 9:46:33 AM
to sam what i said was not racist, its not a fair sampling of voters to cocentrate on one demographic, that is unless you beleive in the gobbles school of journalism ,tell the big lie.also i have found that susa /survey usa methodoligy is sounder and provable as they post the breakdowns by age, gender and race and the percentages of each group polled.so if the truth hurts then you can call me anything that makes you feel better.

NBC's report this morning indicated that Hillary's negatives were way up, but incredibly failed to begin the report with the information that she and Obama are tied in their primary poll. Where is the balance in reporting? Of course, Hillary's negatives are up. The sniper news report -- her lack of honesty about it -- were not good things for her. But, as many of us have pointed out, Obama has done embellishments that were equivalent to this. The media fails to report it or fails to give this similar notice.
There has got to be more equivalency in reporting. The reason many of us support Hillary enthusiastically even though we recognize her flaws is that we firmly believe she is the better candidate -- not just that she will ultimately beat McCain -- but we believe she will be the better president. Obama does not have the experience to be president. He may someday, but not now. In many respects, he is a creature of the media. The unfairness of it troubles me greatly.

you guys don't understand middle america. the wright thing is killing obama--we can't voice it, that would not be politically correct, but the question arises: is this black man the person we want for president. increasingly the answer is no--we are afraid of him...so how do we win, when we can't carry the reagan democrats, can't carry the rustbelt states, can't carry the west and can't carry the south?
it is either clinton or another democrat or McCain.
here we go again with the mcgovern, dukakis, jimmy carter past revisited.

So this what Dean meant by "things" being done. A suspicious poll by MSNBC and media Obama lovers trying to supress the Clinton vote. Do you media folks every talk to real people?

more comments from obama's pastor--Wright reveals all his misguided beliefs and my fear is that Obama holds them close to the vest. a lifelong, yellowdog democrat, if clinton doesn't get the nomination, i am voting for mccain. i don't trust obama.

All the more reason for Ol'Tonya to keep swinging for the kneecaps.

And polls have been correct how many times this primary season???? Pollsters are just as corrupt as the MSM. I know at least 20 people who have buyers' remorse so I can't believe this story. Obama is toast and getting help from the media, pundits and pollsters. I do not trust my country anymore! Let the primary continue until the end. Obama is fighting the revote for MI and FL because he knows he is toast when you add those numbers. If he wins without Fl and MI he will always be viewed like Bush: illegitmate!
