Questions

What's stopping the Democratic presidential candidates from stepping forward and saying that even more important than electing their individual candidacies is electing a Democrat? What's stopping Sen. Barack Obama from saying if he doesn't win the nomination he will work his heart out for Sen. Hillary Clinton, and vice versa? (Vice versa is actually more important, since Clinton is the one who has implied McCain is more prepared than Obama to be commander-in-chief.)

Where are Roger Clinton, and Tony and Hugh Rodham these days?

That Bosnia sniper story was being questioned weeks ago. Did no staffer tell Clinton to double-check the facts before repeating the embellished tale (and actually making it worse) last week?

Is anyone telling Michelle Obama how some of her comments sound to middle Americans her husband needs? Does she care or is she writing them off disdainfully?

And what is Barack Obama doing to reach out to these blue collar folks? Economic addresses at Cooper Union?

How is it that John McCain is 71 years old and still doesn't know how to give a speech?

Why did Barack Obama choose a spiritual advisor and mentor who agrees with the teaching of James Cone and Black Liberation Theology?

Why didn't Barack Obama choose a spiritual advisor and mentor who agrees with the teaching of Rev. Martin Luther King Jr? Rev. King warned against "drinking from the cup of bitterness and hatred."

Barack Obama, if after 20 years of attendance at TUCC you haven't been able to change the anti-white and anti-American preaching, why should Americans believe you can bring racial reconciliation to our nation?

Obama has said many times that he would support Clinton if she is the nominee. Give me a break!

DogSoldier - I've seen those figures too and I don't like them. Obviously, people aren't writing checks to superdelegates (although Bill is reminding them of the positions he got them and how much they owe him, and being Bill, probably promising them many other things as well...). So where is that money going?

Posted by: Mara | Mar 27, 2008 5:36:23 PM

Because they are both going to be on the same ticket and the difficult part is trying to figure out who will be on top. I say let there be real change and let the WOMAN be on top. Try it, you'll like it.

Funny, I heard Hillary say several times, even during the last several debates, that the Democrats will all unite and work to put a Democrat in the White House........but I HAVE NOT HEARD obama the egocentric say one word like that......

Rob, Indianapolis,

YOU SAID "How is it that John McCain doesn't know he shouldn't start a speech talking about how he remembers Pearl Harbor?"

I'm really trying to be respectful of all the candidates here; and I don't think we should be making fun of them, however, that was just way tooooo funny. I started laughing so hard I almost had to get the KLEENEX.

Absolutely Hillarious,

Donna

oh, I have one, related to election coverage: what happened to Campbell Brown's face?

Posted by: cordelia525 | Mar 27, 2008 1:47:49 PM

No Ken, it's not Obama's fault. The new rule at the DNC is "We will seat you, but we reserve the right to refuse you service."

The DNC is having a hard time. Be kind to them. It's the right thing to do. :-)

How is it that John McCain doesn't know he shouldn't start a speech talking about how he remembers Pearl Harbor?

Posted by: Rob, Indianapolis | Mar 27, 2008 1:39:02 PM

As a Florida voter. Why is Obama working so hard to keep my vote from counting? Where is Obama family other than his wife? O! I forgot the REV.

Posted by: Ken | Mar 27, 2008 1:19:42 PM

Jill-Here are latest figures. Wow!

Obama: $694,000 (40% of his superdelegates)
Clinton: $194,000 (12% of her superdelegates)

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 27, 2008 1:13:59 PM

Jill-Since 2005 Obama has given 52 of the undecided superdelegates a total of at least $363,900, while Clinton has given a total of $88,000 to 15 of them. So who's buy who there Jill?

Bill Elliott writes:
"We should be praying for a brokered convention and elect Al Gore as the nominee. Hillary as his running mate."

geevil writes:
"Why is it that the media is trying to shove Obama down our throats?"
-----
We should be praying for the convention to nominate John Edwards, for Clinton and Obama to return to the Senate, and for most of the Democratic "leadership" to resign, or be taken to task by pikes and cudgels -- or whatever it takes to retire them.

Why IS the media trying to elect Obama? It's more than misogyny: 'twas the media that ignored and ridiculed John Edwards. 'Twas the media that scuttled the populist campaign of Howard Dean.

Posted by: Navarro | Mar 27, 2008 1:02:43 PM

Jill-So what race am I? Now, Pac money? In Obama's eight years in the Illinois Senate, from 1996 to 2004, almost two-thirds of the money he raised for his campaigns -- $296,000 of $461,000 --came from PACs, corporate contributions, or unions, according to Illinois Board of Elections records.
Obama's US Senate campaign committee, starting with his successful run in 2004, has collected $128,000 from lobbyists and $1.3 million from PACs,His $1.3 million from PACs represents 8 percent of what he has raised overall. Clinton's Senate committee, by comparison, has raised $3 million from PACs, 4 percent of her total amount raised, the group said.

Didn't Michelle Obama say she would have to think before voting for Clinton? Then why should I not think twice before voting for Obama God forbid he steals the nomination?

Posted by: Josh | Mar 27, 2008 12:41:41 PM

ken,
I hope all parties concerned will be able to agree on something in Michigan and Florida, but I don't think that it's fair to put all of the blame for what happened there on Obama.

Posted by: ddpwoman | Mar 27, 2008 12:34:30 PM

We should be praying for a brokered convention and elect Al Gore as the nominee. Hillary as his running mate.

Posted by: Bill Elliott | Mar 27, 2008 12:32:17 PM

If there is no revote in FL and MI and Obama wins the nomination. I will not vote for Obama and I sense and heard many people say this. It's all about the eonomy and fairness and not just getting the nomination. I think by not having a revote is a criticl blow to the individual vote's right. If the Democrats lose the general election. Howard Dean and Nancy Pelosi got to go!!!

Posted by: ken | Mar 27, 2008 12:28:58 PM

Persio,
YOU SAID,"Too Many people do not like Obama."

Judging by the number of people who are voting for him, there seems to be quite a few people who like him.

YOU SAID, "Too many people see he's getting a free pass in the media."

I'm not sure how anyone could say he's been getting a free pass, especially in the pass couple of weeks.

YOU SAID "Too many people will vote for anyone but Obama."

I think many more will vote for him especially after that speech.

YOU SAID "Too many people are disgusted by his association to Wright and his church and his light denouncement of his stand."
I think many more are impressed with the character of a man who would be willing to risk his candidacy to stand by someone he loves.

YOU SAID "Obama blames Hillary of being a liar,..." Unfortunately, and with all due respect to Hillary the Bosnia story doesn't help to prove that she is the most honest person.

YOU SAID"..Obama himself has gotten caught in lies..."

What lie?

YOU SAID "THATS WHY!",he cant win.

I SAY, O YES HE CAN! O YES HE CAN!

To the questions in Trapper's article, the obvious answer for all sides is just WHO is asking those questions and for what purpose?

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 27, 2008 12:14:00 PM

Dear JPT:
I remember Clinton said so, the latest I can recall is when she met the 200 black press people. Please check.

I don't remember Obama said this, maybe I am wrong though.

She said McCain would bring his life long experience to the debate about commander-in-chief, that is true, isn't? And remember Obama said it is "old politics" that you cannot say anything good about GOP if they are good on something (after he was accused of saying GOP is full of ideas)?

Too Many people do not like Obama. Too many people see he's getting a free pass in the media. Too many people will vote for anyone but Obama. Too many people are disgusted by his association to Wright and his church and his light denouncement of his stand. Obama blames Hillary of being a liar, Obama himself has gotten caught in lies. THATS WHY!

Posted by: Persio | Mar 27, 2008 11:50:31 AM

macondo,
how do you know that happened? I don't recall hearing that. What was the reasoning behing that action?

Posted by: ddpwoman | Mar 27, 2008 11:35:28 AM

Don't forget the question: Why did Obama block re-voting in Florida and Michigan?

Posted by: macondo | Mar 27, 2008 11:31:31 AM

The media shoved McCain down the throats of the Republicans. Welcome to the media party Democrats.

Persio,
you said," OBAMA IS NOT CAPABLE OF WINNING THE NOVEMBER ELECTION AGAINST MCCAIN."
Why do you think that's true.

Posted by: ddpwoman | Mar 27, 2008 11:20:26 AM

Question:
Is anyone telling Michelle Obama how some of her comments sound to middle Americans her husband needs? Does she care or is she writing them off disdainfully?

Ans. If they weren't before I'm sure they are now. However, I am one of those middle Americans and I think you'd have to be pretty easily offended to be offended by Michelle, I don't think most Americans are as easily are that offende. Not the honest ones anyway. I think she cares very much and in no way is she writing them off.

Posted by: ddpwoman | Mar 27, 2008 11:17:08 AM

OBAMA IS NOT CAPABLE OF WINNING THE NOVEMBER ELECTION AGAINST MCCAIN.

Posted by: Persio | Mar 27, 2008 11:12:48 AM

Obama has already said he would put all support behind Clinton if she were the nominee. He has said this on several occasions. Clinton has not. She will take her toys and go home if she doesn't get the nomination.

To len - Sorry, Colin Powell sold out when he caved in to pressure to back Bush on the Iraq invasion when he knew better. Not strength of character in my book.

Posted by: Brenna | Mar 27, 2008 11:01:24 AM

Obama does not want to talk reporters, you know why, he is afraid of questions. But he is not afraid of dictators.

aha aha aha

" real American are trying to earn a living as Bill Clinton says"

....

Bill Clinton and "earning a living"?

?

I must have misread.

Questions

Who are those questions for?
Why not ask them yourself?
Remember though,Obama freaks out when you ask him 8 questions.

Posted by: geevill | Mar 27, 2008 10:49:22 AM

No Democratic Candidate even own the nomination without winning CA/FL/NY/NJ/OH/PA.

OBAMA can make history. Democratic party leaders are full of idiots if they nominate OBAMA.

Posted by: tony | Mar 27, 2008 10:47:57 AM

because this inside politics stuff only matters to the media while real American are trying to earn a living as Bill Clinton says.

Question

Why is it that the media is trying to shove Obama down our throats?

Posted by: geevill | Mar 27, 2008 10:46:09 AM

Another question, a more relevant one.

Will Obama be able to beat McCain in the GE?

Here's part of the answer -

In stark contrast to John McCain and the Republican Party's struggles in the West and Southwest, Democrats are surging. Democrats saw record turnout in Arizona, with 368,828 people turning out for Democrats compared to the previous record of 239,000. [CNN Political Ticker, 2/6/08] In Colorado, Democrats saw twice the number of caucus-goers as Republicans -- 119,184 to 55,845. In Nevada, it was a 10 to 1 difference...

A series of polls conducted by Myers Research/Grove Insight showed Democrats leading or running even in a generic presidential horse race across the Rocky Mountain West. Among independents, Democrats led 46-18 in Colorado, 32-18 in Arizona, 28-20 in Nevada, and 28-24 in New Mexico in the polls. And with 59% of western voters saying the country is on the wrong track, McCain’s promise of a third Bush term may not be the way to go.

Short answer: Obama will crush McCain in the GE.
