Spitzer Speaks
March 10, 2008 4:10 PM
The crime-busting Governor of New York came before the cameras and said the following, per the AP:
"Good afternoon.
"For the past nine years, eight years as attorney general, and one as governor, I have tried to uphold a vision of progressive politics that would rebuild New York and create opportunity for all. We sought to bring real change to New York and that will continue.
"Today I want to briefly address a private matter. I have acted in a way that violates my obligations to my family and violates my, or any, sense of right and wrong. I apologize first and most importantly to my family. I apologize to the public, whom I promised better.
"I do not believe that politics in the long run is about individuals. It is about ideas, the public good, and doing what is best for the state of New York. But I have disappointed and failed to live up to the standard I expected of myself. I must now dedicate some time to regain the trust of my family.
"I will not be taking questions. Thank you very much. I will report back to you in short order. Thank you very much."

Where did Spitzer get the money to pay for these bimbos?? This started as a bribery investigation, and we know where the money was going...but where did Spitzer get the money to spend in the first place??
I imagine that the only reason he hasn't resigned yet is that he is trying to work out a deal with the state's attorney, and maybe he has a lot more to deal with legally than just buying some love...

Do Attorneys General usually file amicus briefs on behalf of private litigants in insurance cases?

From Spitzer;
"Today I want to briefly address a private matter???"
Is this guy serious? A private matter?
He is the top law enforcement official in the state. The office which he holds, quite arguably is among the top 5 or so in the country. He broke the law. A law he so passionately prosecuted in his years of State Attorney General. He is a public figure. This is not a private matter. A rectal examination is a private matter. This is public.
Since the story broke all major news media, who have been his ally since 2001, most notably the NY Times, NBC and ABC, have been attempting to spin, spin spin……They’re as shameful as he is.
The picture of him tight-lipped on the cover of the NY papers is poetic. Because that’s exactly what we are going to get from him.
He needs to resign. There is no assessing this situation. Not even the Clinton damage control team can repair this.

At least he did not go to a Prayer Breakfast with pastors and rabbis and said "I am not client no. 9"!
Let's ask Hillary "What would you do?"... "What would you advise?"

$5500 an hour ??... I can see why we have deficits in the economy. Did you see his poor wife? It isn't fair. How can someone with this opportunity be so stupid?

If the Clintons hadn't been so occupied these days tearing down an originally great nomination battle, their good friend Spitzer would never have been caught.

It's not the party, it's the person. I wouldn't fault John McCain for Mark Foley.

HILLARY A POSITION JUST OPENED UP IN NEW YORK... HOW ABOUT LEAVING NOW AND GO GET IT..!!!
Posted by: Lawrence | Mar 10, 2008 5:12:46 PM
Once, JUST ONCE...
I'd like to see a politician making up some series of excuses and apologies, then turning to his wife to 'thank her for her support'....
and then she just kicks his teeth out.
And for those crowing about a Democrat going down - he was only *one* of the clients - when they go through the files, I'm sure they'll get people from both sides of the aisle. Since this is just a "local" operation, it won't be squashed nearly as effectively as the Pamela Martin Associates client list has been.

$5,500 an hour!!! The Democrat governor of New York truly knows how to spend tax payer's money. Every night, a middle class family's annual income is down the hole.

I'm more worried about the REPUBLICANS PICKING OUR POCKETS, to the tune of a ten billion dollar deficit than what this yokel does in his pathetic sex life. It's time to look at the big picture folks.

When the wife of the Democrat governor of New York can not trust a Democrat governor, how can you trust a Democrat president?
