From Sen. Hillary Clinton's Senate office:

STATEMENT ON BREACH OF SENATOR CLINTON'S PASSPORT FILE

WASHINGTON, DC – This morning, Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice contacted Senator Clinton in order to inform her that the Senator's passport file was breached in 2007. The State Department will be briefing Senator Clinton's staff this afternoon to provide details about the recent unauthorized breaches of passport records. Senator Clinton will closely monitor the State Department's investigation into this and the other breaches of private passport information.

i see articles on msm that condi rice apologized to obama for the passport thing - apparently mccain and hillary don't get the same apology.

also, read that obama is demanding a congressional investigation!

I guess that's no big deal, MSNBC and CNN.

Apparently a lot of you have forgotten that nearly 1,000 FBI files on prominent Republicans (a lot more ominious than the breach of passport files of three individuals) were discovered in the Clinton White House.

This is all Bush's and Cheney's doing, but, of course, the Mr. Hope campaign was trying to blame the Clinton campaign for his passport breach. Backfire!

The Bush admin. is a criminal regime.

This is disgusting.

Is this Watergate II?

The trainee who looked at Clinton's file was not fired. The employee who looked at Obama and McCain's file last week was only disciplined. But the employees who looked at Obama's files in January and February were immediately fired! Big question is what made the Jan. 9 and Feb. 21 breaches of Obama more serious than the fall '07 breach of Clinton and the March 14 breaches of Obama/McCain? I tell you this story has legs, big legs. The media are smelling blood-

As an independent still sitting on the fence, these passport breaches are really shocking..

Many in the media are already downplaying the unauthorized access of Hillary's file saying it was just a trainee. But why is it that it happened last year and why is Hillary just finding it out now?

While it may be nothing to do with the same topic, the breach of candidates passports will have an implication on President George W. Bush bill of the administration' surveillance program, granting immunity from prosecution to telephone companies that took part.

Democrats should take this breach of passports as an example of how the Bush administration can not be trusted protecting the American people under 4th Amendment against arbitrary search and seizure of private documents.

Gee, do you think that Keith O. will spend an hour on the breach of Hillary's passport?

Obviously a rhetorical question, but, um, no. As you know, Olbermann is an Obama shill. I just wish he'd admit it, like Bill Maher, instead of claiming to be objective.

Some temp office workers were bored - that is all. They probably looked at lots of famous people's passport information.

This is not a story. Now, the fact that Obama continues to play the race card - that's a story. It smacks of deperation.

And, of all people, he gets Richardson in the middle of this. No one ever accused Richardson of being fair. Add his history of sexual-harrassment.......

Gee, do you think that Keith O. will spend an hour on the breach of Hillary's passport? How convenient that this started last night and took the heat off of the Obama campaign for the Kerry, McCaskill and "typical white person" comments. Also took the attention away frome the polls which seem to be going in Hillary's direction.

This is so funny!

Obama you and your news stations who are in the tank with you can't blame your arch rival!

Sorry this is too funny!

And it takes a year to report that breach to Hillary?

Is there ANYthing the Republican administration has done right in the past 8 years? Not that I remember.

I'm glad Obama and a top-notch administration will clean up this mess.

Posted by: Gregi | Mar 21, 2008 12:32:36 PM

I guess Obama and MSNBC were trying to cook up a conspiracy and blaiming Hillary for all of this.

Its disgusting what the State department have been doing and I am glad that Obama can't cook up a story saying its Hillary.

I am glad this is the story of the day and his endorsements is just going to the side.

This is apprehensible and the state department needs to find out the motives behind this gaffe

Posted by: carol | Mar 21, 2008 12:31:37 PM

OK, now CNN posts that John McCain's passport file was breached as well. LOL

Posted by: marie | Mar 21, 2008 12:30:50 PM

Now State says McCains passport info was also snooped...

no wonder there was that horrible backlog in passport processing all last year...workers were too "busy" with other stuff
