There Goes Another Hillary Superdelegate

March 10, 2008 2:29 PM

What the…?

New York Times is reporting: Crime-busting Governor Eliot Spitzer told aides this morning of his involvement in a prostitution ring.

Developing hard, as Mr. Drudge might say….

It is a c=very sad turn of events- there os no valid candidate for the presidency.
Hillary is an epitome of corruprion and hypocracy. Obama Hussein BArak has noexperience- he is running "for the change", same as Hitler and mussolini in their first quest for power!
And I don't like MsCAin either.

Posted by: paula | Mar 12, 2008 2:26:28 PM

To the person who said Hillary should denounce and reject Spitzer. Are you joking? How can she renounce and deject that which resembles her husbands activities? Did he not fool around on her to many times to count? She would look even worse of a hyprocrite than she already does. No, she should just keep her trap shut.

Posted by: Daniel | Mar 11, 2008 2:37:20 PM

the media can't blast HRC on her 'experience' because she played good strategy and called them bullies. So from here on out, any negative stories about her can be responded with by saying the press is just picking on her and not actually respond, just like she is doing with her taxes currently.

Posted by: Louis | Mar 11, 2008 12:37:36 PM

So what’s Hillary’s experience everyone just says her years in Washington and as first Lady. The other day this claim of hers to helping to bring peace to Ireland was disputed as silly by the guy who actual did the work who went on to say she was a cheerleader at best. So why does the press continue to giver her pass on this. Her Kosovo trip had nothing to do with any real diplomatic work and she did not have the security clearance required to be privy to the information that would allow her to negotiate anything this claim is bull and the press needs to stop giving here a pass on it and expose it for what it is typical Clinton lie.

Posted by: NoBillery | Mar 11, 2008 9:00:13 AM

I find it funny how everyone who is voting for HRC has forgotten all of the corruption associated with Clintons. I also think that it is hillarious that she is using her years as a first lady to qualify her experience as President. I have always liked Bill Clinton, and respected Hillary, although I have never cared much for her. And the more I hear her speak the more I realize why I don't like her. She sits so smuggly on television as if she is entitled to the nomination as well as the presidency. Everything that comes out of her mouth is about "me" and what "I" can do, and what "I've done. There's never much about what we will accomplish as a country. I just hope that the people of Missipi and Pennsylvania will smart enough to see through all of the political posturing, do some critical thinking, and a realize that we need to move forward. A vote for Hillary Clinton, is a step back into politics as usual, with her and her husband creating back door deals, to appease the special interest, while handing the American people a bone or two (figuratively speaking), to keep us satisfied, while they are raking in as much money as they can behind fronts such as NAFTA, The Tri-Lateral Commission, The World Trade Organization and WAL-MART. I hope that the Obama's win in these two states is so convincing, that she will be pressured to concede. Which will allow the Democratic Party to focus on beating John McCain. I can not fathom another four years of "Bush Lite".

Posted by: critical thinker | Mar 11, 2008 12:19:18 AM

Sam, please cut that silly Rezko crap. FOX would be all over it if there was some Obama scandal to the found there. Instead this is how they deal with the case on their site in a Q & A section:

Q: Why is Rezko on trial?

A: Prosecutors allege he tried to shake down companies seeking contracts from Illinois regulatory boards for campaign contributions and payoffs. They say he used his influence with Gov. Rod Blagojevich to get people appointed to the boards and then threatened to have them block contracts unless the companies paid millions of dollars in kickbacks.

Q: What does that have to do with Obama?

A: Nothing. No one has alleged that Obama has anything to do with the charges against Rezko, nor has Obama been charged with any wrongdoing. Obama has donated to charity the money that Rezko donated to his campaigns, as well as money from other Rezko friends and partners, a total of $150,000.

Posted by: FOX | Mar 10, 2008 10:54:36 PM

This is the more reason, we should start electing women as they are less likely to behave like dogs.

Men in general are disgusting. That's just the way it is.

Posted by: SO | Mar 10, 2008 10:34:04 PM

This is nothing compared to what is likely to come out of the Tony Rezko case.

Tony Rezko created the Obama candidacy. He created and molded him and bankrolled his elections. There is no way in the world that they are that clever to cover their tracks. Simply not possible.

Stay tuned people!

Posted by: Sam | Mar 10, 2008 10:29:54 PM

Hillary's major claim is that she has won big democratic states. Whoever the democrat is, I guarantee you they will win those states. You have to show that you are not ONLY able to win with democrats but with independents and republicans also. That's what will be a winning factor. I think democrats are so desperate to see a democrat that any candidate will suffice. Whose goin to be able to get that over the party line support. You can't just look at who can get democrats. Hillary has gotten where she is so far because of her name and her gender. Every chance she gets she says " a real change would be a woman president" Its over-bearing. She doesn't have the ability to win on her positive. It just killed her that Obama was winning when he hadn't been speaking about Clinton at all. He can bring people with positive energy. Hillary wants to play on people's fears and negativity. I don't see that as being a good leader. You can say that Clinton will be a good change but the problem is too many democrats are reaching back to the 90's for support. The 90's are over! Stop looking back. Shouldn't we as Americans want better. Lets not be fooled by her popularity in the democratic establishment. We need to look at her on a serious note. She has spent more time avoiding prison than doing anything for this country. Im sorry but being a first lady doesn't make you qualify. If something would have happened to Bill, Gore would have been president. Not her. So she was not co-president like some people like to say. Shes fooling everyone. She won't release her tax returns but she was urging Rick Lazio to do that when she ran against him for senator. Shes a hypocrite folks.

As Mrs. Clinton has said...

GET REAL!!!

Posted by: Toni | Mar 10, 2008 9:35:22 PM

This news has nothing to do with Hillary.
It is about men and their disgusting way they behave. Who can anyone trust a men?.
MaCain, Obama....

Posted by: pat | Mar 10, 2008 8:22:07 PM

Moot, Jake has it right: Hillary loses 1 super delegate. Spitzer's successor (if he quits, and he should) would be David Paterson - a super delegate himself who already endorsed HRC.

BTW, Obama again had to super delegates going his way today, one from North Carolina and one from Mississippi.

I quote Politico's Ben Smith: the direction of that movement is as good an indicator as any of whom insiders are laying bets on.

Posted by: Handler | Mar 10, 2008 6:36:33 PM

I would not stand by my man if he committed such acts, and I don't like whe sight of women (Hillary Clinton, Mrs. Spitzer) who do.

I cannot imagine Michelle Obama creeping in the dust for the sake of her husband.

The Obama's are in love, isn't that great when you think of it on a day like this? Aren't they a great couple and family to represent our nation? I think they are.

Let's have a really strong woman in the White House by voting for Barack!

Posted by: magnolia | Mar 10, 2008 6:29:26 PM

For those that are not convinced of Clinton's corruption, there is a report on a Chinese web site. Bill Clinton bought stocks from a Chinese government sponsored company and sold stocks for more than $700,000 shortly. Severn months later, Hillary started her prsential campaign. This Chinese company was found fraud later in New York and claimed bankruptcy. Stay tune for upcoming new scandles.

Posted by: Cheers | Mar 10, 2008 6:28:58 PM

It's apparently a moot topic.

Should Spitzer resign, the Lt. Governor will take over, and he is also on record as supporting Clinton, according to CBS Marketwatch. (Apparently there was a bit of a cheer going up when the story broke on the floor of the Exchange)

Posted by: Moot | Mar 10, 2008 6:09:36 PM

Let's have a President in office who enjoys a great marriage and a great family life, a family that actually sets an fine and inspiring example.

Lat's have Barack Obama for President.

Posted by: Karen Wing | Mar 10, 2008 6:06:27 PM

Democrat leadership is full of sleazy characters like Governor Eliot Spitzer. That is why we cann't afford to put a Democrat in the White House.

Posted by: JL | Mar 10, 2008 6:00:27 PM

Then Marion shouldn't Obama be guilt of guilt by association to Rezko? Exact same difference, none.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 10, 2008 5:57:23 PM

Now we know what SPitzer means when he claims that Hillary is reall, really EXPERIENCED!!! Three diamonds??

Posted by: mel | Mar 10, 2008 5:57:16 PM

I would be highly surprised if another client on that ring's list wouldn't be called Bill by his friends.

Posted by: Marion | Mar 10, 2008 5:45:14 PM

He endorsed Hillary Clinton. Perhaps she will say “-(as far as i know), i never asked him to endorse me, it was Bill who asked him, I was on a 3 AM,red phone call, with McCain!”

Posted by: CHIR | Mar 10, 2008 5:43:48 PM

Nothing wrong with that title, Jake. It's a relevant fact since all the talk is about endorsements and super delegates these days.

Not to be compared to "Clinton supporter killed her husband" (which could be relevant if there was a political motive) bu to all the fuzz about Farrakhan's (denounced AND rejected) support of Obama, and Farrakhan is in no way a super delegate.

Posted by: Kent | Mar 10, 2008 5:42:32 PM

Hillary should "denounce" and "reject" this king of prostitutes if not I see a very ominous consequence in her campaign.

Posted by: Jayboz | Mar 10, 2008 5:40:31 PM

Thangamma, I agree with you. The fact that Spitzer may have messed around does not mean that Hillary was involved.

Shame on Spitzer and Hussein Obama both.

Posted by: Chester | Mar 10, 2008 5:38:53 PM

This kind of title is really disgusting. Should someone report a local crime as "Obama supporters guilt of robbery" or "Clinton supporter killed her husband". Really misleading and disgusting.

Posted by: nosense03 | Mar 10, 2008 5:36:15 PM

How is this different than the Obama's dirty little secrets I have been reading on CNN, ABCNews, and online?

Posted by: Jessie | Mar 10, 2008 5:35:39 PM

What's all the noise about Spitzer. Birds of a feather flock together. You now see the reason why he endorsed the Clintons.

Posted by: Jayboz | Mar 10, 2008 5:35:01 PM

Char Char if thats the case shouldnt headlines also Rezko/Obama trial continues today. Guilt by association goes both ways.

Posted by: toby | Mar 10, 2008 5:34:04 PM

If this sex scandal is going to drop gas prices than I say you make it the top story until i pay $2.00 at the pump. If not, he is a man...why should anyone be surprised? This is why we should elect a woman to the White House.

Posted by: mona | Mar 10, 2008 5:31:32 PM

"New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer formally endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential bid Monday, calling the New York Democrat someone who has "proven herself time and again."

Proven herself time and again? What did he mean? Isn't that a pretty obscene remark?

Posted by: Limbo | Mar 10, 2008 5:16:19 PM

Juliette, that is why we can not trust these Democrates.

Posted by: Kitty | Mar 10, 2008 5:15:46 PM

A prostitution ring?

Is that the now famous 3 a.m. ring?

Posted by: Harold Boyd | Mar 10, 2008 5:14:03 PM

Interesting, how old news can suddenly become breaking news again:

New York Gov. Eliot Spitzer formally endorsed Sen. Hillary Clinton's presidential bid Monday, calling the New York Democrat someone who has "proven herself time and again."

"We know there is one person who can bring us back, one person who has the vision, the courage, the guts to say what has to be said, to stand up to those interests who do not like to be stood up to," Spitzer said.

LOL!

Posted by: Juliette | Mar 10, 2008 5:10:12 PM

It has everything to do with Hil. Aren't we playing Guilt and/or experience by association?? If she can dish it out, she should be able to take it!!

Posted by: Char Char | Mar 10, 2008 5:05:05 PM

Do you REALLY think Democrats have any control at the moment with only 51 votes in the Senate, and an overbearing, overpowered Republican presidency?

Posted by: Barrel | Mar 10, 2008 4:58:53 PM

Tracy: I missed typed. Mr. Obama's name is mentioned in Brian Ross's report. That is the basis of his report.

Posted by: russell | Mar 10, 2008 4:58:35 PM

Stacy: What was the article about?

Posted by: russell | Mar 10, 2008 4:55:23 PM

Here we go already. This is the kind of EXPERIENCE we will get with a CLINTON ADMINISTRATION. If she got her experience from just being near Bill Clinton, what did she get from being around Spitzer. And she blames Obama of guilt by association. What a joke.!! Is this the experience we need?????

Posted by: Char Char | Mar 10, 2008 4:51:55 PM

Posted by: Russell

This article is not about Obama. Where in the article is his name? Two wrongs don't make a right. Here guy, let me give you some kool-aid, pun-.

Posted by: Tracy | Mar 10, 2008 4:49:55 PM

Oil $107 a barrel. A democratic congress and a democratic senate and this is what we get?

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 10, 2008 4:49:04 PM

For those Obamaniacs who are trying to link Spitzer to Hillary should look at Brian Ross's story about the news out of the Rezko trial. According to Ross it came out in the trial today that Mr. Obama was one of eight officials who were consluted on oppointments to a Illinois state board which was later involved in a fraud scheme. Looks like the Rezko trial is starting to shed some new light on Obama's political dealings in Chicago. Maybe we need a special prosecutor to sort it all out. You know like the one they used against the Clintons! I am sure with 50 million we can find something and if not political wrong doing then he could always take a look at his sex life.

Posted by: Russell | Mar 10, 2008 4:39:20 PM

Hey, "Kitty", I really don't care what Democrats do with their sex lives as long at the Republicans stop picking our pockets to the tune of a 10 million dollar deficit.

Posted by: WestCoastMessenger | Mar 10, 2008 4:39:08 PM

Well they better be finding something that both of them can say with this because after all the fighting between them they have to both remember that they are running against the Republicans for President, and this does not look good for the Democrats.

Posted by: SJ | Mar 10, 2008 4:34:32 PM

Oh goody, keep 'em coming the Hillary Superdelegate drop off!

Posted by: RuthieM | Mar 10, 2008 4:32:26 PM

Perhaps what is most interesting is both the Clinton and Obama campaign teams are in hurried talks as we write dealing with how each will respond to this development today or if they respond at all.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 10, 2008 4:28:41 PM

There Goes Another Hillary Superdelegate:

That is there angle, not the sleez that this guy is or what he was caught doing its more look Hillary has one less super.

Disgusting reporting to say the least, the British was correct US media does not do their job.

Posted by: SJ | Mar 10, 2008 4:27:00 PM

How in the world is a story about Spitzer being involved with a prostitution ring an angle against Hilary Clinton? If there was any doubt about media bias against her, this should prove that there is. It's deplorable.

Posted by: druggstohr | Mar 10, 2008 4:24:06 PM

This should be a lesson to cocky Obama I don't know who told him the Republican want to lose this race, he will be next.

Posted by: SJ | Mar 10, 2008 4:22:37 PM

Seems like its only the foreign press that is willing to take a shot and investigate who Obama really is.

No matter what happens on the political scale here in the US the reporters always find a way to link either Hillary or Bill to it.

At least FOX seems to be doing some home work now for a change so hats off to them.

Posted by: SJ | Mar 10, 2008 4:20:02 PM

A new lead article just posted. It does mention party affiliation.

Posted by: Sinecure | Mar 10, 2008 4:19:02 PM

Mike Denhof....I am sure Al Gore is not endorsing Obama because he does not want to seem ungrateful to the Clintons. On the other hand, he probably realizes that it was the shadow of the Clintons that cost him being president. I think the fact that he has not endorsed Clinton is very telling. I don't expect him to endorse anyone soon. As for Edwards, I am sure he wants a role in either administration so he will not endorse anyone either. It is not the right thing to do politically.

Posted by: John | Mar 10, 2008 4:18:15 PM

Pretty soon the news will come out the drugs deals Obama did when younger! Also the gay guy that filled a law suit against him in Minneapolis.
This is all fun stuff!

Posted by: Brenda_DC | Mar 10, 2008 4:16:45 PM

Notice that in ABC's article on this website that the Democrat party not mentioned. I suppose that if Governor Spitzer had been a Republican, his party affiliation wouldn't have been mentioned except in the headline, first and last paragraph and, perhaps a few more places. After all, they're just reporting the news, not producing propaganda.

Posted by: Sinecure | Mar 10, 2008 4:14:13 PM

Jake is there any word on Spitzer for resignation or something along that line?

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 10, 2008 4:13:20 PM

1 down and 237 cronies to go.....just heard though that the Gov. of MI who is pushing Hard for Hillary to get those votes is out of a job at the end of her term as she term limits out...and a job with Hillary's White hOuse has been offered....talk about doing the people who voted you in dirty!

Posted by: Sam | Mar 10, 2008 4:06:20 PM

I.A.T Smith:

If Obama has Hillary as VP who will Obama hire as his food taster?

Maybe that'd be a good job for Bill.

Posted by: SuziQ | Mar 10, 2008 4:03:27 PM

Another case of another MEN's poor judgement or lack thereof.

As a men I don't think men have judgement, so I am voting for Hillary.

Posted by: steve | Mar 10, 2008 4:03:16 PM

Jack, you are very quick to report anytime Obama's name comes up in the Rezko trial. You never report on the case of Peter Paul vs. Hillary Clinton and the campagin finance fraud HRC is being sued for. Is she off limits?. She has not been vetted by you guys. The media just believes her "I'm vetted." She just denies everything. You media are the ones that did not question George Bush's Iraq war and now don't question any aspect of HRC. Are the media just sheep to the loudest and most successful deceivers?

Posted by: erizin | Mar 10, 2008 4:01:21 PM

Obama4, your comment is really stupid.
have some respect, I don't care which candidate you support, but please show some respect.

Posted by: pat | Mar 10, 2008 3:57:56 PM

This is actually sad news for Mr Spitzer's family. My heart goes out to his wife who was "forced" to stand right next to him as he made his statement of apology for "Impropriety".

As for his support of Hillary, it goes without saying that it is another stain on her already blemished legacy. I just wonder what BILL will have to say?

Posted by: k armond | Mar 10, 2008 3:54:20 PM

When two friends are fond of same type of entertainment.. of course they will follow, support, and bond with each other.

So, I am not suprprised Elliot Splitzer is supportive of Bill & Hillary who are supportive and defenseive of same type of entertainment...P?m"ing.

Now vote for Hillary if you are supportive and defensive about same type of entertainment...and if that does not sound entertainment then vote fo Obama....simple choice...just ask how moral are you in your bheavior.

Posted by: morrn | Mar 10, 2008 3:50:57 PM

Does anyone know if or when he resigns?

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 10, 2008 3:50:19 PM

Obviously, this Democrat governor has the money to use the services provided by the prostitution rings.

Is there a say that "Democrates fall in love,..."? But fall in love with prostitutes is just too much, isn't? This happens when you Democrates throw family values out of the window.

Who knows what is in Obama's closet.

Posted by: Kitty | Mar 10, 2008 3:48:46 PM

Chan, lol.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 10, 2008 3:46:58 PM

I think it is better for HILLARY CLINTON to serve as VP for OBAMA. That is the best solution.

Posted by: I.A.T Smith | Mar 10, 2008 3:46:47 PM

Dogsoldier, I heard that a few years ago and I still remember the outcome.

Posted by: Chan | Mar 10, 2008 3:37:49 PM

Sorry, JT. Won't do it again.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 10, 2008 3:37:31 PM

Right, Kitty, the republicans have made us so poor even democrat governors are now forced to run prostitution rings in order to fund state services these days. You do realize of course that only republican have the money to use these services now-a-days. You know the family values republicans.

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 10, 2008 3:28:16 PM

Now politicians' sex escapades will be front and center in the news including President Bill Clinton.

Monicagate back in the news. Poor Hillary.

Posted by: Maritza | Mar 10, 2008 3:20:56 PM

Gov. Eliot Spitzer, the crime fighter. This is unbelievable. We need to ask Bill if he knows any of the girls involved in the prostitution ring. I'm still waiting for the juicy details.

Posted by: Chan | Mar 10, 2008 3:20:32 PM

I have it on firm authority that
Drudge passed on the gimmie pun.

Posted by: flyover | Mar 10, 2008 3:12:14 PM

Maybe the MSM could stop competing for the Matt Drudge Award and start reporting on the issues of this election. Like foreign policy. Or foreign policy advisors. Who are Clinton's advisors? Who are McCain's foreign policy advisors (or on-call advisors as he says)? Last night I googled McCain, foreign policy, and advisor. Guess what #8 was? A post on Political Punch. That is scary. Start reporting.

one less for HILLARY !!!!

Posted by: anderson | Mar 10, 2008 3:01:21 PM

It only vaguely has to do with Clinton, in that if Gov. Spitzer is forced to resign, he will lose his superdelegate status. So she'll have one less than she started this month with.

And hey, he got to use another bad pun.
