I believe that Hillary Clinton has the experience it takes to be the President of the United States. The deification of Obama due to his race by certain media wonks is frankly frightening and very Carl Rovian. A candiate has to be more than gender and skin color to win a national election against John McCain.

I am trying to see if I can make a comment I ahve been blocked for three months.

Sandy, Obama didn't lose Ohio or Texas and Hillary didn't win. Apparently you haven't been paying attention. the republicans voted for Hillary to keep this going in order to have her money pay for the attacks against Obama. it is time for Hillary to bow out gracefully even after winning three states she won 187 delegates and Obama won 184 delegates, she can't catch up so she needs to give it up and come support Obama.

SURE they are. And maybe if they weren't dragging Tony Rezko and Bill Clinton, all would be peachy.

Trouble IS -- outside the corporate publishing world in which we play here -- there's a Depression on. What the country needs is another FDR, and these guys aren't that.

If the "Democrats" -- hardly worthy of the name, given that neither of their compromised poster children can even commit to national health -- want to 1. save the Republic and 2. carry the general election (it's not clear that they DO want to win the election, IS it??), what they'd better do is have a long think, then go to Denver and nominate John Edwards.

Pretending that the whole world is made up of upper-middle-class suburbanites who are pretty well satisfied with the domestic situation, and big on NAFTA granularities and the military may not carry the day, this time (just like it didn't, LAST time) -- especially if some "terrorist" event more substantial than the Times Square bombing should, as seems not unlikely, materialize.

John Edwards. Really.//

Peace - Gore did not bow out HE LOST!!!

Got to love libs they are so blind, they fall for rhetoric like a cobra, but just remember the great economy and sercurity that we got From President Bush will faulter under a Lib President, just as it is now starting under a Lib congress!!

Open your eyes McCain is the Best man/woman for the job!! (hey you dems should like McCain anyhow, he is closer to a Democrat then your two candidates who are closer to a Marxist Socialist then anythingelse)

Posted by: spock | Mar 6, 2008 10:57:47 AM

I think for the sake of the Party, Hillary has to swallow the bitter pill and bow out as Al Gore did to Bush in 2000.

The math does not work at all even if it will take up to June. Neither candidate will reach 2025 delegates and not even Hillary will catch up to overtake Obama.

To make even the matter worse, Texas are 40% counting delegates after caucussing. Obama is far ahead of Hillary and he is continuing to make a gain in his delegates numbers.

It is the time now to do what is working for us, and stop wasting time and money.

Get this Florida is saying it will remove the name of the Democratic nominee from the ballot in Nov, if their delegates aren't seated. OUCH!!!!

Holy Smokes. They mean business.

Bill and Hillary should never play second fiddle to Mr. and Mrs. not proud to be Americans.

A bag of hot air or an empty suit. What a battle!

Posted by: surelock Homes | Mar 6, 2008 9:00:04 AM

Let's not get so personal.

These are two great candidiates.

The DNC must ensure 'one person, one vote' and ditch this 'superdelegate' lark.

If humans can step foot on the moon, then i suggest that an Obama/Clinton ticket, whoever is VP, is workable; you all just have to want it to work.

You democrats, when will you learn to see the divide and rule tactics of th erepublicans and quit it to ensure your success

Practice reverse divide and rule; which is working well in your favour with the Clinton/Obama race. Make the independents and reasonable republicans vote for either one of your candidiates by ENPHASISING ONLY THE STRONG POINTS OF EITHER ONE IN PUBLIC, SUPPORTING THEM BOTH, AND VOTING FOR YOUR CHOICE OF PRESIDENT AND VP AT YOUR CONVENTION. Dont giev the hawks and lunatic zealots anothre chance to laugh at you - remember the shambles that was and is Al Gore - where the hell is he now? Dont let it happen to these two much more serious democrats.

Posted by: Taj | Mar 6, 2008 8:46:13 AM

I have to disagree with everyone that says this is bad for the democrats. This keeps both Hillary and Barack in the news. This allows them to get more familiar with the remaining states thus making either one stronger for the Fall contest. However, I do hope that there is a decision by June. I would like to see a Obama-Richardson ticket. I think McCain would not stand a chance. Obama 2008!

Snow from Maine . Hillary has the name durrrrrrrrrrrr need more then that to run a country. But you know what let her get on the ballot and see what they do to that name .They are a disgrace to this country.Where are her tax records her papers all the time in the White House see where the dirty money comes from.He strstegy to asl Obama to be VP is nothing but a ploy...She is a =cagie b----

Take it all the way to the convention, Hillary. There is no turning back now.

Destroy Obama in 2008.

Defeat McCain in 2012.

Go Hillary!

Newsweek: The conventional view is that the Clintons approach power the way hard-core gun owners approach a weapon—they'll give it up only when it's wrenched from their cold, dead fingers.

Posted by: DaveJ | Mar 6, 2008 2:24:31 AM

Obama wants the whole shamile.

He talks and acts like he is the president now, and he is not even the Democrat nominee yet.

He has one heck of a big ego!

"HEADLINE"
Clinton surges to comeback in TX, Ohio, and Rhode Island !

"FINEPRINT"
Delegate spread changes by two.

Hillary will win the White House, and stay there 8 years.. She will pick a VP that will carry on for the next 8 years.. I hope that I live that long, because it will take that long to clean up the mess that the Republicans have made in the last 7+ years.. GO HILLARY !!!!!!!!

Posted by: J.Murphy, CA. | Mar 6, 2008 12:46:32 AM

Honest name one other woman other Hillary who has name recognition. Hillary has been able to get over 13 million people to come out and vote for her. Who else is there?

Posted by: ILovetheUSA | Mar 5, 2008 11:24:55 PM

If I were to bet right now, I would wager that when the dust settles we will have a Clinton-Obama ticket. Both Clinton and Obama have earned a place on the ticket. Obama must be on the ballot, but Clinton is the real heavyweight. She is one tough, savvy, smart woman who will be a great president.

Posted by: hopesprings52 | Mar 5, 2008 10:57:25 PM

hey do the math people if this were the general the electoral collage to this point would be hillary 263 to obama 188 so really who is trying to steal what, also lets talk about thease sham cacuses ,for shame texas you disenranchised about 1,700,000 texas dems last night.thats how many did not take part in the second set of voting.talk about calling the kettle black, this shows that this whole cacus system discriminates against those of us with busy lives{you know work, kids and keeping a house} so dont talk to me about will of the people, its the will of the elite.

Posted by: don tufts | Mar 5, 2008 10:54:48 PM

why would Hillary settle for the vice-presidency under Obama? that would be totally dumb on her part... and would provide us with an untrustworthy, unproven leader who has at times shown, smooth talker that he is, he's a tad tongue tied and short sighted when the teleprompter goes missing.

Better for her, should worse come to worse, to switch sides and be the VP for Mcain. That at least would prove a fine choice for the country...

Frankly, I think Hillary's going to win, and B O is going to tank.

Meanwhile,

Good for You!

Give 'em Hell, Hillary!

The Dem Party selection process is deeply flawed. It features a mind numbing combination of caucuses and primaries. It features a mind bending allocation of delegates doled out on a proportionate basis and it has a boatload of superdelegates. It's got to be fixed. I say simplfiy it. Hold straight up primaries in every state, award delegates on a winner take all basis, and get rid of the superdelegates. The current system stinks and is bad for the Party.

Posted by: hopesprings52 | Mar 5, 2008 10:23:09 PM

She is using this as a ploy you honest think she would ask him to run with her???I for one will never vote for the Dem is her name in anywhere on the ballot....She is not the woman for this job many more are better then she will ever be.

Posted by: honest | Mar 5, 2008 10:02:18 PM

An Obama/Clinton ticket will not work. It just draws attention to the inexperience question - does this mean she will be aswering the 3am phone call on his behalf? A Clinton/Obama ticket wont work... it destroys the Obama "urgency of now" and "new politics" argument and turns Obama into the Clinton's step-and-fetch-it!

Posted by: smartprimate | Mar 5, 2008 10:02:12 PM

Hillary should not lower herself to get on the same ticket with that "shallow, flaky candidate".

Obama promise to do anything to get the Presidency. I am beginning to see he meant it. I actually think he will do anything.

I would hate to turn republican!

Posted by: seah | Mar 5, 2008 9:52:40 PM

It's not going to happen. I think Hillary is posturing for the guaranteed VP slot now.

Posted by: emo chalk | Mar 5, 2008 9:11:52 PM

The media would love that, though the democratic party won't let it happen. The media will continue to play up "how tight this race is" to keep viewers glued to their televisions, though this race will end well before the convention in June.
