[Turn toward Obama and smile]

March 21, 2008 1:13 PM

Note the following stage direction in Gov. Bill Richardson's prepared remarks in his endorsement of Sen. Barack Obama, accidentally included in the version disseminated to the press.

"In part because of these experiences, Barack and I share a deep sense of our nation’s special responsibilities in the world.

"[Turn toward Obama and smile]

"Barack Obama, you are an extraordinary leader who has shown courage, sound judgment and wisdom throughout your career."

Richardson did turn to Obama, though he didn't smile so much.

(He'd actually just gotten done with an anecdote about Obama helping him during a debate, and it was more time to get serious.)

Richardson called for Sen. Hillary Clinton to get out of the race, though not in so many words, saying it was time for Democrats to unite and fight Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz.

"It is now time for a new generation of leadership to lead," he said.

Betty: MSNBC,Cnn,CBS,NYT, list goes on who don't hide the fact that they are pro Obama. I therefore today call on all like minded americas to write congress and ask that the constiution be changed so that they can not say anything negative about Hillary! They are sexist in their reporting especially Chris Mattheews and they just want to defeat her because she is a woman?

Is Bill Richardson's endorsement a reason for Superdelegates to vote with their reasoning and not according to who won the State?

Obama set himself up for the Wright issue. Obama came out and demanded Don Imus be fired: Here is Obama's words: "He didn't just cross the line," Obama said. "He fed into some of the worst stereotypes that my two young daughters are having to deal with today in America. The notions that as young African-American women -- who I hope will be athletes -- that that somehow makes them less beautiful or less important. It was a degrading comment. It's one that I'm not interested in supporting."

"And the notion that somehow it's cute or amusing, or a useful diversion, I think, is something that all of us have to recognize is just not the case. We all have First Amendment rights. And I am a constitutional lawyer and strongly believe in free speech, but as a culture, we really have to do some soul-searching to think about what kind of toxic information are we feeding our kids," he concluded

Obama sat his own Kids in Wright's church and made no mention of the "toxic" garbage Wright fed his own kids. Talk about a double standard. Well, I guess Don Imus was "WHITE". And a typical white person at that.

Betty. He had too?!?! You mean he can be pushed around by Fox news?

Posted by: Haha | Mar 21, 2008 3:45:54 PM

Karen, you did not answer my question, why did Obama have to denounce it unless he took it out of context too! Is he IGNORANT too?

Besides, you don't know my religion so any comments about Catholics and all just do not apply to any person asking the same question.

Ninak: Now that you have told us where Hillary was can you tell us where Rev. Wright is? Inquiring minds want to know!

Posted by: russell | Mar 21, 2008 3:36:29 PM

Ken,
we want to point out all that's wrong with Wright; but we can't accept what's right under our noses.

SO SADDENED; If you're around on these blogs somewhere, I just want you to know that I agree with all your points and I noticed last night that I posted after you did and it sounded like a bit of a contradiction to your post, it was not in response to your post.

NinaK-Wright, NinaK. Would you help Betty raise money so that the Obama side can make an ad say you guys want to shut Fox News down? Please? Please?

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 21, 2008 3:34:30 PM

That's David Axelrod for you.
Obama's entire campaign is a staged show.
Axelrod is running Obama's campaign like this is an "American Idol" contest instead of an election to chose the most qualified person.

Posted by: OxyCon | Mar 21, 2008 3:33:44 PM

Karen, so Obama took it out of context too!

Posted by: Haha | Mar 21, 2008 3:33:01 PM

Ken,
this is my point. What I wrote in my blog about the presidents was not America bashing. It is America's history as well as America's present. My point was not to bash America it was merely to help you and others understand the reality in which I live. I am not complaining about it. I am simply not denying it.

Betty: Fox News broke the story first! Then Brian Ross of ABC news on GMA showed the viedeos that he and FOX were able to purchase from the churches website I think they were sold as "the best of Rev. Wright". It took MSNBC and CBS and others two more days before they reported on it. Then it was only a small part of their reporting until it exploded!

How do you suggest that Fox News be silenced I don't think even Mr. Obama would be for that. I think he appeared on Fox last Thursday to explain the Wright story. If Fox is so bad why did he go on their network?

Posted by: russell | Mar 21, 2008 3:32:05 PM

Saying "typical" black/white/asian/latino all the time (as Obama did yesterday) is not exactly helping to close the racial gap. You are just stereotyping without any respect for people's individuality. If this is his way of getting past racial issues, then it is not working!

Posted by: Haha | Mar 21, 2008 3:30:43 PM

Betty-Is there some way we can get you to do an ad from the Obama side saying "We" have to "shut" Fox News down? God, I'd help pay for that. Russell would you help Betty get on air for this?

Posted by: Dogsoldier | Mar 21, 2008 3:27:17 PM

Here is the digg link of Rev. Wright's message in context. Please digg the link so that the rest of the world hears the truth. Wright was quoting an American Ambassador that was on fox news when he was speaking about 911. I found this very disturbing. go to 6:20 of the video this is very interesting.
I'm an Idependent. The truth about each candidate is out there. We just have to be willing to do our homework before we pass judgement. No one ever talks about almost 800 bills Senator Obama introduced in his time as state senator. Everything from child care to workers rights and ethics reform.

If you really look at his track record it has always been to help people. And to not just go along with the crowd like others have done.

Keep in mind his major was in Constitutional Law. Who better to lead our country than a Constitutional expert. Isn't that what We need most right now?

We don't need a Republican or a Democrat or a black man or a woman. We need someone who will go to work for the citizens of America. And whoever is best qualified should be our next president.

If people are willing to say anything or do anything to get elected, then that consitiutes a desire for thier own personal greed and asperations. I also question anyone who spends too much time trying to cast doubts about someone else.

America is still a young country and we need fresh young Ideas and Leadership to keep America alive and growing.

America needs to get over this stupid gang metality of I'm a Republican I'm a Democrat. We're all Americans First. and whats best for america is what we should all be thinking about.

Betty: So nice you had to say it twice!

Posted by: russell | Mar 21, 2008 3:21:28 PM

Betty: Preventing free speech is not the hallmark of democracy! What you want is only speech that praises Mr. Obama. When Fox News broke this story the MSM staye away. Then Brian Ross showed the dvd's that Rev. Wright was pushing as the best of Rev Wright and I am not joking about that. If it had not been for Fox News the MSM would have swept this under the rug. Thank God for freedom of the press!
