Young Girl in Clinton Ad Cuts Obama Ad
March 22, 2008 10:35 AM
The the Obama campaign has cut a youtube video using Casey Knowles -- the young woman from the Clinton campaign's "3 am" ad -- showing how the Clinton campaign took the stock footage of her as a little girl to make it scarier (blue tint, "scratchy voice")….and condemned "the politics of fear that Sen. Clinton uses to drum up votes."
I never thought it was particularly significant or surprising that a young former actress in Seattle would be supporting Obama. But her deconstruction of the Clinton ad is interesting.
What do you think?

It's pretty sad when actresses feel used by the roles they take. This should be a lesson. Actors and actresses don't take work in politics. They make you feel dirty and your parents will never be able to show their faces again.

lol
That Casey Knowles is awesome!
They should use that ad on national TV.
It is young, energetic and enthusiastic Americans like these who will have to be motivated and mobilized to save the American dream.
President Barack Obama will be a good leader for them.
The old geriatric Clinton and McCain are TOO SET IN THEIR WRONG WAYS to recover America from 8 years of Bush-whacking of the country that is wasting lives and limbs in Iraq, and is now leaving Americans homeless at home.
It was the Clintons Monica-related scandal that denied Al Gore and enabled the destructive Bush.

She sounds like a very inmature kid
crying because she hasn't done more
with her acting.

She'll be old enough to vote in November.
The '3AM' ad was just out-and-out fearmongering in my opinion, so I agree with the deconstruction. Personally, I think this ad is good, especially the last line - "I approve this ad - and not the other one." Classic.

And this is relevant how? Not news, not even relevant, as I think I heard that this child is only 17, and can't vote.

I was waiting for this to happen. she hasn't hit it big time since she slept on the job years ago. What's next....a takeoff on "Dear Mr. Gable?"...forget it, the rock stars fans wouldn't understand.......and he probably wouldn't either...............

Carville is once again in full flight as de facto spokesperson for Sen. Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. While his remarks may pass as “just Carville being Carville” among the largely secular political classes, they are in reality deeply hurtful to millions of men and women of Christian faith. His Good Friday likening of Governor Richardson to Judas Iscariot arrogantly reveals the contempt he actually has for the people of our country that he allegedly loves.
Carville’s continued presence in public forum is no longer appropriate. He should take his millions and disappear to commune with his like in some far off land where carnival hucksters go to amuse themselves. Our First Amendment gives him the right to demean any religion he choses, but it does not mean that we have to listen to him.

Am I on the right comment thread?
I was fascinated by the ad deconstruction, as it reminded me that voters of Casey's generation are so aware of these things. I suppose it started with MTV and progressed to You*Tube, but I must say I didn't think of the blue filter or the scratchy voice although I was well aware of the pandering to fear meme.
From what Casey had said on news shows earlier, I was expecting something but this was different. Well done! Or as Casey says at the end:
"I approve THIS message. Not the other one."

All these comments show how our media and pundits distort and compromise the truth to have this devisiveness continue within our country and within the two campaigns. so the vast majority of people are misinformed or wrongly misinterpret what the news media reports or what they hear out of the pontificating self inflated pundits.
Unless you are following the campaigns day in and day out and CNN and MSNBC, reading the NY Times, LA Times, Washington Post and all the blogs, plus staying hooked into the websites moment to moment, you only get a partial view or a slanted view of these positions, speeches, gaufs, bashing and conference calls.
The truth is, Barack said what he said in his - speech - watch and listen to the entire speech and then think about what it means and what he is saying with out parsing each word - but hearing the broader concept and appeal to our nationa and our better side.
The truth is - watch the ad by the young girl now working on the Obama campaign that was in the 3:00 am ad by Hillary - What she says is the truth - how she feels - no spin - It is her words.
The truth is Florida and Michigan were punished, both campaigns agreed that they would not campaign and that the votes would not count - The truth is both the legislatures could not come to an agreement and a fair and legal way to revote - This is not Obama's fault but it is disingenuous of Hillary to now say that they should count and accusing Obama of denying these voters their rights - It has only to do with the two states and the DNC and both candidates having the moral integrity to follow the rules and to be honest!
This is why I would never vote for Hillary if she somehow becomes the nominee - because she does not have the moral intergrity to be fair and just- Above all that is what we need in our new president!

She's just going for her 15 minutes of fame.

We should judge a person by their actions and not their words. The fact that Obama choose Mr. Wright as his spiritual teacher for 20 years speaks well for actions. Words are easy to manipulate and it is unlikely that Obama's recent speech was written by Mr. Obama anyway. Mr. Obama has a powerful and power hungry staff including his wife that will do anything to get him elected to power. But clearly this man Mr. Obama is not to be trusted with the future of our great country. And regardless that he is fashionably black and that many of you have some desire to prove to yourself or to others that you are not prejudice and that you like black people with an attitude of ‘See, I like black people, I voted for a black person.’ Such an attitude of voting for a person because of their race is the definition of prejudice.

People, just ask yourself what you have got from those who claim they have "Experience". They use this say to convince you that they are the best ones.
The way they conduct their campaigns, answer properly questions during debates, make you feel good about them, is the only indicators of driving you to make the best choice.

Nice ad.
Good comeback.

Obama is too big liar. He hided his race card until now. If he showed his race card at the beginning, he has already lost. He wasted too much money on the campaign. That amount of money can help lots of people who lost their home in credit crisis.
Economy is the highest priority in this election. We need the country to be transitioned to prosperity, then talk about other fantasy --- 'hope' 4 or 8 years later.
Young voters, you really want a peaceful home, peaceful environment, a lead with peaceful mind. You don't want a leader with hateful mind.

Young voters, don't be vain, wake up. What will Obama bring to you, to this country? He will being the bitterness of race fight, the old story to your memory. Don't be addicted in the 'hope' fantasy. He promised an 'empty' hope.
Any actor can be used in an AD, it's not suprising. One actor supports Obama, doesn't mean the whole AD supports Obama.

cba,
The only reason you obamamites are saying it's over is because Obama "is pulling" a Bush and stealing the primaries by not allowing a revote in Florida and Michigan. You think you may have won the battle but to quote my second choice John McCain, "My friends, you have lost the war."

A pathetic attempt by Obama campaign. I would say as pathetic as their releasing Bill's photo with Wright. As a matter of fact, that ad makes even more sense now in light of Wright's comments and Obama's 20-year association with him.

The only way Hilliary gets in is if she pulls a Bush and steals it. But since she and her harpies have drivien the country to this point, it seems that whoever "loses", will vote for "Insane McCain" (some "Democrats") and start World War 3 with IRAN. Thanks harpies, I hope you have that bomb shelter built. I thought you guys were going to leave after Bush got in, in 2000, WELL.... you've had eight years, just couldn't make it happen huh? Thought so.
