Air America Host Suspended for Attacking Clinton
April 03, 2008 8:39 PM
At a recent event for KKGN, the Air America outlet in San Francisco, talk show host Randi Rhodes had some rather pointed remarks about Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, and former vice presidential nominee Geraldine Ferraro, likening them to the world's oldest professionals.
You can watch Rhodes's remarks HERE.
The Huffington Post reports that Air America has suspended Rhodes:
"Air America has suspended on-air host Randi Rhodes for making inappropriate statements about prominent figures, including Senator Hillary Clinton, at a recent public appearance on behalf of Air America in San Francisco which was sponsored by an Air America affiliate station. 'Air America encourages strong opinions about public affairs but does not condone such abusive, ad hominem language by our Hosts,' said chair Charlie Kireker."
Rhodes was telling a comedic monologue, but she was clearly also not happy about Clinton's constant reminder to pledged delegates that they can vote any way they want under Democratic Party rules. One can view this incident as a lone incident, or one can view it as symbolic of Democratic anger with Clinton.

Randi Rhodes should be fired like Don Imus was. What she said is far worse. For years Rhodes has been screaming how W had destroyed all of the good work the Clintons did in the 90's. Now, some tall dark and handsome man flashes his pearly whites and she turns into a groupie with a mouth, no less. Women like her and Oprah are mind boggling. I suspect they will not and cannot support a more powerful woman. These types of women apparently need men to lead them.

Thank G-D they finally took her down.
She is a foul-mouthed, arrogant full of herself creep who single handedly is splitting the democratic party (something she accuses others of doing). On her last day on the air she was bashing Hillary so hard that one caller said as a result that if Obama didn't get the nomination she would vote for Ralph Nader. Is this the unity we're looking for???
Even if this incident was used as a pretext to shut her up...I applaud it!

I never liked Randi Rhodes before she went on her anti-Clinton tirade -- she's coarse, loud-mouthed, and hectoring. Since she has made it her mission to trash Hillary I've stopped listening. I'm very, very happy to hear that she's been suspended from Air America, hopefully for a long time. Where I live Sam Seder has replaced her, and that's a substantial upgrade.

On Jay Leno, HRC said she had to dodge
sniper fire at the local airport on her
way to the show.
When troops in Bosnia, Iraq and
Afghanistan are facing real fire on the frontlines this kind of comment is
thoroughly disrespectful. And she's
is running for President! Of which
country?
It does not reflect well on the
intellectually-challenged people voting
for her either.

Randi has been running with the boys in talk radio for too long, she thinks she is one of them. There is nothing more sickening than a woman who is a male chauvinist pig. Regardless of how she feels about Saint Obmama and the second coming, she had no right to attack Clinton on such a personal level. Her actions tell more about her and the Obama following than about Clinton.

It seems there is a lot of anger being expressed -- some of the posts are "livid" --
All of these comments began because of an Air America host using inappropriate and unacceptable language during a broadcast or gathering.
It just proves a point --
aggression breeds more aggression
hate speech breeds more hate speech
It would be good to get back to the issues.

When I hear terms like the following:
silent majority
henchmen
so called woman
threw his white grandmother (who raised him) under the bus
gang.
My hear my way or else.
If women are a majority of the Democratic party, why are there less than 10 female senators and less than 1 or 2 female governors in recent years.
If women have been there from the start and had to claw their way up, why are you targeting Obama for your frustration? Why not go after those men (by men I think you mean white men) who you feel like should be supporting women (by women I think you mean white men)?
I think it is fascinating to watch those intra community (I mean within the white community) conversation spill out into a public debate. I was amazed when I read what the NY NOW chapter president said about Kennedy owing her organization his superdelegate vote because NOW had supporting him throughout the time he was in office.
What is the exchange? Is it respect, esteem, or something else? What is the quid pro quo exactly? Whether it be Dodd, Kerry or Kennedy, what have male politicians promised in the past that they are now reneging?

Randi Rhodes for Veep!
Posted by: anon | Apr 4, 2008 1:59:38 PM
I am kind of shocked. Damn.
I know how black people attack each other when we are in an argument. I've watched women hit other women on how well they raise their children, maintain their households, what kind of man they have, or even whether they are capable of getting a man, but I've not seen this kind of attack.
I am not guilt free on attacking a woman on the above bases. I have never disagreed with another woman on her political beliefs and called her a whore or a b*tch or intimated her husband cheats on her because of her political beliefs. Rhodes hit on a divide I didn't even know existed amongst women.
It is ad hominem. It is abusive. I don't think it is true either.
I don't know much about Rhodes but ugh, it looks bad. Should she be fired on the basis of this rant? Is it as bad as Don Imus?
Ladies, what do you think? We do tend to be vicious when it comes to dissecting other women, is this fair game? Are we at the point that we'd shred Hillary and Geraldine along these lines?
I think Hillary should stay in long enough to address gender within her community. There are women who have come out against her and who support her. Do their support or lack of support stem from how they feel about her ability to represent other women?

Not This Woman - Not at This Moment
Gender bias is very acceptable all around the world, and it's been rearing it's ugly head in the democratic primary.
Generally, I think it's a good thing for the most part, that our society has an open, friendly, often humorous dialog about gender. It's better that tip-toeing around our differences, as we often do on racial and religious issues, afraid of saying the wrong thing and causing offense. Most of the time, I wouldn't find a lot of this stuff offensive.
On the other hand, we have allies, such as Saudi Arabia, where women are beaten for being raped, aren't allowed to drive a car, or attend school. There are practices like arranged marriages, honor killings, forced abortions, sexual slavery, and female castration that we, as a world power, should be more outraged about, more proactive to end than we are.
I wonder how many people know the percentage of women who are raped and/or victims of domestic violence during their lifetimes? I believe it's 1 in 4 or 1 in 5. Women in some countries are still treated as property.
Women have had to fight for the right to vote, own property, and a lot of other rights men took for granted and still do. You can say a lot of things about Hillary Clinton, but you can't say she hasn't been an advocate for women and children her entire life.
So, yes, I take gender slurs against the first woman to have a serious shot at the presidency of this country seriously. I don't think they have a place in the discourse any more than racial slurs against Obama. Denigrate her for her policies or her integrity, but not because she's female. Not this women - not at this moment. It denigrates all women. Like her or hate her, all women deserve this one small concession in the dialog. Women's suffering is usually the last to be acknowledged or addressed.
In this election, for once, we should be as sensitive to gender slurs as we are racial slurs and be proud of these historic candidates we've selected.
I'm not some rabid feminist, but I am extremely proud that a women has broken through and come so close to leading this country, but just like there are ignorant people who won't vote for Obama because he's a black man, there are people who won't for for Clinton because she's a woman, and I've encountered quite a few of them. They call me "honey" and "babe" and tell me not to get emotional.

Hillary has been touting herself as the
"3:00 a.m. red phone candidate".
According to a news report, her poorly
managed campaign is about 14 million
dollars in debt including the 5 million
she loaned to it.
She should know that the red phone and all the other phones will be diconnected by the phone company because she can't pay her bills.
And the lights will be turned off by the utility company.

Bush
Clinton
Clinton
Bush
Bush
Clinton (Hillary?)
Bush (Jeb?)
Clinton (Chelsea?)
The darkest days in history of the US happens in the hands of this two families: two wars, 9/11 and the worst economy ever since WW II. What other proof do we need?
Hillary asked who is the commander of chief able to make split-second decicions on 3 AM. Certainly not her. I rather put my trust in an emotional stable person with outstanding communication skills and a pragmatic approach, advised and backed-up with the cleverest staff.
Does America deserve better??
Yes it does.
Does America have nothing better??
Yes we do, his name is Obama!

ok kay,
THIS IS THE LAST TIME I WILL REPLY to you
The media is slanted in favor of obama
and even they reported how John Lewis was being threatened by his people
Shelia Jackson Lee is another one
stephanie tubbs jones is another one
all of the black elected officials that support clinton are being threatened by their black people (obama has caused this divide) these people have a right to support whomsoever they please.
If you support obama-I hope you will be able to say you support him (to yourself-don't write back and tell me-that you support him because you are sue he is going to be able to make your life better-in exchange for you helping him)
since you support him-please start walking his talk
Posted by: jgaw | Apr 4, 2008 11:58:53 AM
ok, Kay,
While I was giving thoughtful consideration and trying to answer your comments to me.
while I was writing-you had to go and write the crazy stuff you just wrote to me.
I can tell from your comments-you need hillary to be in the white house fighting for you and your interest.
I thought I was communicating with a halfway intelligent person..
I will not reply to anything else you have to write.
but I will tell you this-
please do not just vote for obama because he is black
I would not vote for hillary just because she was a woman.
there is a lot more to consider.
try to find out something more about obama that what the media is feeding you.
because they are tainted.
You do not have to tell me-I will keep my vote.
and if by some miracle obama gets past mccain and the right wing machine of karl rove and co.
and obama gets into the white house
I'll bet you will be wishing you had kept your vote also.
from the note you just wrote to me I can see what kind of change obama has had on you.
the country is headed for big trouble
Posted by: jgaw | Apr 4, 2008 11:39:29 AM
Jgaw,
We dont need your vote, go and vote your lier Hillary.
I think she has promised you position when she lied and become president.
Your only vote can put Obama in white house, so keep your vote with you.
Obama will win and win big in November.
You and your Hillarians are big dividers not Obama
Posted by: Kay | Apr 4, 2008 11:07:10 AM
Jgaw,
If Hillary will not accept to be 1st American woman VP let her go and create her own party so that she can control the party as she want and continue to lie so that she can become president. she can not control us here at D party,
I am a white guy but disgusted to hear a black person telling us that Obama has divided the D Party, even the black community. Can you explain how you came about this so the rest of us can look into it and decided whether to support Hillary or stick with the divider she Obama is
Posted by: Kay | Apr 4, 2008 10:59:25 AM
if obama was winning because he was half as smart as hillary on how to handle the issues,i would vote for him
but I have listen to him too. he is not.
People who hate hillary clinton-(which is not a good reason-when we are talking about the country and the issues) are voting for obama
black people are voting for obama because he is black
obama handlers and all the sd jumping on the obama bandwagon are supporting him in hopes of getting something in return
john mccain and his war machine will be president-because the dem. picked the wrong person to run against him
none of these should be reasons to pick the president
Hillary is the only one who has a plan to help this economy-and get the country back on the right track.
now obama supporters do as you leader has told you-write you comments back to me and unite the party.
he will not get my vote in nov.
Posted by: jgaw | Apr 4, 2008 10:54:48 AM
bkmc, I know you haven't noticed, but
obama
has a lot of negatives-and a growing list of negatives.
the sad thing about this whole dialogue
is as with all obama supporters
all you can do is talk negatively about hillary-
obama's supporter alway talk about he is going to unite the country.
obama and his supporters have divided the party.
suggesting that obama ask hillary to be his vp and that she accept it
would be like the student who always spent their time throwing spitballs at the professor and then asking the professor to sit down while the student teach the class.
this is what obama and his handlers have failed to think through.
(1st of all I guess it is ok.with the obama supporters the media, and obama surrogates trash hillary-and hillary should just take it. Why is that?)
Obama cannot win the white house against mccain because he will not
have the supporters of hillary
he will not have the support of dem in fl and mi, he will not have the "old money" of Geraldine F.
and his supporters will desert him-when he has to ask hillary for her support.
the rev. wright thing will come up
anytime you are turning your head to a certain part of the population being silenced and left out of the democratic process-in the long run we all suffer.
and I am not just talking about fl and mi voters.
I am talking about the black people who support hillary.
and any black people reading these comments know what I am talking about.
so do not but obama beside mlk just yet.
mlk would be ashamed of what has happened in the black community with this election.
Posted by: jgaw | Apr 4, 2008 10:40:04 AM
Far left Democrats. Don't flatter yourself. nobody wants you but your own group. That is why the McGoverns and Deans have imploded. Clinton and her supporters will let Obama fail on his own and the DNC behind with it.
Posted by: geevill | Apr 4, 2008 10:15:26 AM
I was delighted when Air America came to my area; that is if I drove about 5 miles from the broadcast antenna. I have usually liked Randi on the radio and on Washington Post Radio.
Then they put Stephine Miller on with her laughing hyena supporting cast and I have stopped listening to her.
I like Obama but I like Hillary too. So, when Air America started supporting people like a high school popularity contest vice talking the issues, i stopped listening to them. In fact, I now listen to O'reilly on the Factor more.
If you are going to be a politician, talk issues and not negatives against personalities. I suspect I will support McCain in the General election because the left has stooped to name calling. Especially the far left.
By the way, Jon Stewart started down the potty and body part road and I stopped watching him for a time. He has cleaned up his act some now. The same goes for South Park. They come up with some good shows and when you aren't suppecting they throw in degrading stuff that is filthy and I am not going to watch thoses shows either. But my grandchildren do and I don't want to support that type of candy. It reminds me when i was a kid. When ever someone said a four letter word, everybody laughted. It is silly, and it is not comety.

To make Hillarys supporter happy, I will suggest she start to run a good campaign, that is only way she can be accepted by me and other Americans.
She is a nice woman but the game is about to be over for her to come back.
There are too much negativity in her campaign. Attack John not Obama. Give John a jab on the right and let Obama give him another one on the left so that Democratic party can win in November. she should stop destroying D party by attacking Obama.
I think Obama will consider her as VP, trust me. She is going to be 1st American vice President.
Go on D party.
McCain is an old man, he is not the type of person the future generation want. Old people with old ideas.
Obama/Hillary ticket will be OK if she stop telling lies, she should not be under any sniper fire any more.
If she continue with the way she is going Obama will look for another VP.
But I want her as VP, we will ask Obama to consider her application.
Happy day everybody.

Jgaw you sound like a typical HillLover, get over it, Hill the "General Bosnian sniper" is finished, she has to do the right thing drop out. Hill and Ferraro are from the old school, old politics, they are yesterday, they have to understand that and support Obama for tomorrow. Hill is unelectable with more than 50% negatives, that is the end of it. God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.
Posted by: BKMC | Apr 4, 2008 9:54:33 AM
An Angry Democratic Woman, I think you're wrong. The reason people like myself are against Hillary is not because she is a woman but because she is a Clinton. We've seen this act before and it is very tiring. I am an Independent voter who actually voted for Bill twice but will not vote for Hillary because of the way both of them have conducted themselves in this campaign. It is truly shameful. They are no better than Republicans.

It's be come clear the the hateful far left who spew venom at Presdient Bush are now spewing their hate at Hillary Clinton because she refuses to quit in favor of an unelectable extreme liberal

dl,
You sound like a typical obama
supporter, and I appreciate your passion
but I wrote a comment from my heart
and you answered me back with
MSM soundbites.
which proves my point, obama supporters are following blindly.
not researching for yourself
You are probally one of the well off and financially doing pretty good.
good for you.
but if you are working class poor or middle class-I suggest you go back and read hillary clintons plans to help the healthcare, ecomony, affordable healthcare, etc.-you will see hillary has the plan to help us.
I am not a blindly following clinton supporter. and I will not make my comments from someone elses soundbites
obama cannot win the white house against mccain

You are wrong...still blindly following Clinton. Yes look at their experience...who spent more time not being political for their own career... who gave up time working in washington to help the poor, the laid off, the disenfranchised.
Who puts their own nomination ahead of the health of the party and the country.
Not only is she losing but most of the country doesn't like her... you are telling me her typical old time politics ...her strengths (fighting for something in a way that drives the congress further to their corners and knowing how to do that within the old time political machines) is better than someone saying "take down the machines", someone who say the people are who need to fight and unites people to do that in a way that no other politician has been able to with people that have never been motivated to...
Look at history...change happens when the people, who weren't motivated...suddenly get motivated. Not when some pol who has been part of the systems problems use the same tactics to say they will change it.
In Clinton's definition...
Abe Lincoln, MLK, Robert Kennedy, the American Revolution, Rosa Parks, Jesus for Chrissake ...would all be called "a fairy tale"...
who knows if this will be a great moment...but ...
"if one candidate is trying to scare you, and the other one is trying to make you think, if one candidate's appealing to your fears, and the other one's appealing to your hopes. You better vote for the person who wants you to think and hope."
This is about getting out of scare you politics and intimidation ("he can't win" - disgusting) and changing America to what it's promise and responsibility is... and that is not a fairy tale.

I seems unlikely Rhodes was suspended for her comments. I think AAR was just waiting for an excuse to do it. Once her program format moved to a non-stop commercial for Obama she had to have been losing market share, pissing off listeners, and generally tarnishing the AAR brand.
Rhodes is paid to have an opinion, yes, but she is primarily paid to entertain her audience. A non-stop Obama commercial is not entertaining.
Posted by: David H | Apr 4, 2008 8:54:46 AM
These idiodic liberals. I sent Randi Rhodes a mail a long time ago about the tone of her show, and of course, she ignored me. What these dumb fools forget is that MORE than half of the democratic party is women. And women make up the MAJORITY of the democratic structure, the ground game.. the phone banks, the polling place representatives, the behind the scenes work that campaigns rely on. We've supported these men TIME and TIME again, expecting them to stand up for us.. which some HAVEN'T. When guys like John Kerry and Chris Dodd choose a novice like Obama, over a far more practical candidate like Clinton.. we know the real reason and we are insulted. We are SICK of being taken for granted.
If Rhodes and these other so called "women" who use these terms against their own gender think that will endear any of us to their candidate, they are CRAZY. Keep up this rhedoric, and just enough women will deflect, giving McCain the edge. We are the silent majority, the forgotten majority. You guys count on us EVERY election, maybe we won't be there this time.
Posted by: An Angry Democratic Woman | Apr 4, 2008 8:46:11 AM
doreen,
you left the candidate who will work for the people-Hillary
go back and check what hillary will do to help-read her plans on the issues
(and if you can't stand her for some other reason)
just hold your nose and vote for her anyway.
your pocketbook will thank you for it.
I'll say it again
an obama or mccain presidency
will be a loss to the working class and poor in this country.
This election is all about the marriage of the economy to the iraq war
and neither obama or mccain can steer us back on the right track from either of those issues.
Mccain will keep us warring
obama-saying he was against the war in the beginning-and I will end the war
(as if his just saying that will end the war-because he has no real plan)
Hillary will set things right for this country-she owes it to us.
Hold your nose and vote for hillary
Posted by: jgaw | Apr 4, 2008 8:20:17 AM
Considering the regular remarks on Air America about Republicans, and President Bush specifically, it seems it only outrageous on that outlet to trash democrats.
Btw, which of the 2 listeners reported it?
Posted by: Crazy Politico | Apr 4, 2008 8:09:42 AM
Obama and his henchmen put Randi Rhodes up to it. Just like they sent those two college students to harass Chelsea about Monica Lewinsky. Let's not forget that Obama also threw his white grandmother (who raised him) under the bus during his speech. Obama and his henchmen are even worse than the Republicans. They are a horrible disgusting gang. If Obama's the nominee, I will either vote for McCain or I won't vote at all. Obama is a disgrace to the democratic party the the USA.
Posted by: Doreen | Apr 4, 2008 8:08:05 AM
the last 8 years has taught us the american voter has the luxury to not really take the voting process seriously, Everyone knows Al gore was smarter that geo. bush-but the media helped sway the voters then.
and it is happening all over again
Why are the clinton supporters digging in and saying "we will not vote for obama"
because this time around Hillary is smarter than obama-and all the people supporting him are supporting for the wrong reason-everything is listed. But none of his supporters are looking at the big picture clearly-these times are not right for someone who does not know the ins and outs of washington.
He has run on the notion he is going to be able to go to washington and change the way it works.
Well the career people of washington-the establishment-are not going to close their minds (as his supporters have) and just go with him.
We all know the media and the dem. elite have been shamefully supporting obama and not being fair to the other candidate-Hillary and no other opponent deserves to be treated this way.
And shame on obama-if he is so above the fray-whatever happened to the notion of beating someone fair and square-if he beats hillary it will not have been fair and square-
the greatest thing that should be helping obama win-is his command of the issues and having solutions for them
he does not-and he does not deserve to win.
so another election will be hijacked
if obama wins the dem nomination it will have been on
Democratic Elite supporting him-and being unfair to the opponent
Favortism from the media-(Everytime the media says something negative about hillary-they should ask themselves-would we be saying or doing this if she were a black woman?
Black people voting blindly for him
With all of those things going for a person how can they lose?
this election cycle (Just like with GBush-is all about the candidate-people wanted to have a beer with him,and now people are voting for obama because he is charming-and just seems nice)
and the american people get the shaft again.
After reading some of the obama supporters comments-i have decided for me
this is a waste of time
I will from now on out spend the time making calls for hillary-and hoping some of the states left to vote will do the correct thing.
to the people in the states left to vote
send the media a clear message:
We will not be duped again-
do not listen to the media who is clearly trying to steal the election for obama.
all of the people you watch and listen to on tv will be just fine financially
it does not matter to them who is in office. Many of them are all ready writing their books about this-which will put plenty more money in their pockets. and what will happen with the working middle class and especially the poor black people voting blindly for obama? It is going to be hard.
I heard al sharpton say-we are going to help obama get in there-and the minute we see he is not doing the right thing-we will call him out on it.
Well my friends-this is how these people make their living-so al sharpton having said that-he knows and we now know-al is going to be busy during obamas term in office (but mind you obama will not get past mccain)
If you think the rep. did a job on Kerry
just wait until you see what they will bring to obama.
Obama cannot win the white house against mccain. The media knows it
hillary and her supporters know it.
and obama knows it.

Rhandi Rhodes comedienne or not took it too far... she comes off looking like everything Obama is fighting against.
She hasn't done anyone any favors when she comes back fighting fire with fire.
2 wrongs don't make a right.
Although did you see the interview on Fox with Ferraro and Bill Hemmer. I have always defended her as just having made an obtuse mistake and then at this interview yesterday I found myself screaming some really not nice things at this woman in the TV set yesterday.
If you haven't seen it, what I realized was ...she's not stupid or ignorant (you ahve to see this interview)...Hemmer even started losing it on her...
She really has not ever gotten past the fact that Obama is a black man. She doesn't see anything...I mean anything past the fact that he is a black man...
You should have seen Bill Hemmer (who I think has now become your typical Fox guy) ...he was flabbergasted at what she was saying...because you realized (for those of who have always defended her as just being stupid) ...she's racist...but she doesn't even know it's racism...
She, I don't think, is hard pressed to see Obama as a human of her standing really seriously that is all anyone could take from her comments...you have to see the interview.

“One can view this incident as a lone incident, or one can view it as symbolic of Democratic anger with Clinton.”
or
One can view this incident as symbolic of the frustration that Obama supporters feel over the fact the Obama has not been able to put this thing away yet. He has momentum on his side; he has raised tons more money than Clinton; he has the media on his side; he has the Democratic elite on his side. And still – according to national polls, more than 4 out of 10 Democratic voters prefer Hillary Clinton.

Hillary has been elected twice to the Senate. Her first term was largely ineffective. Her second term has been entirely on the campaign trail. Someone PLEASE tell me how that translates into 35 years experience?????

"If a politicial doesnt want to get beat up, he or SHE shouldnt run for office" - Bill Clinton.
Stop whinning about Hillary-bashing.

As someone (a male) from 'another country' Hugh.
I happen to admire Senator Clinton and certainly do not regard her as a mediocre person or is that 'woman' HUGH. It is about time that a woman is given a go at the Presidency, why always a man? and why is serious consideration being given to Senator Obama who is so in-experienced?
The concept of Universal health care appeals as does experience in office, so Clinton is an obvious choice, cannot understand why any alternatives are being entertained. With all due respect to Obama supporters.

asatkins if you think the majority of America likes the way Obama solves problems, you're badly mistaken.
Obama will have NOTHING when he loses his meat shield, Clinton. (You think the Republicans are going to refrain the way Clinton has refrained from a truly dirty campaign? You ain't even SEEN all that Wright & Co. has to offer!)
What can be said FOR Obama, that isn't an insult against Clinton?
It doesn't take much brilliance to run a campaign that is based on activating hate. But NO WAY will the R.'s let THEIR candidates be trashed the way the Dems have allowed (and encouraged and assisted) Clinton-trashing.
Here's a more likely story: the Dems were so sure they had an easy victory they overreached, shooting not for a safe centrist but for a far-left "affirmative action" candidate with some pretty radical views (and some pretty radical friends, too).
But they pushed too hard, too fast and too ugly, and all the groups who were supposed to just vote the way they were told to, good little Dems (don't need to worry about THEIR feelings!) became outraged, and now refuse to step aside like good little soldiers.

Manda....
You say you can't stand Hillary, but you'll vote for her if she is nominated. And you want us Hillary supporters to vote for Obama if he is nominated.
I can not and I will not. All of you Obama supports are so hypnotized. Half of you say you're voting for him because he's charming.
And none of you are even fazed by his affiliation with a racist church for 20 years, or his associations with Lezko and other seedy characters. You overlook the fact that he voted present so many times, or that he told that big fat lie in Selma.(which the media put under the rug). It doesn't bother to you that the good old establishment boys are lining up behind him.
All you can say is that he has a velvety voice and he's charming.
What the heck is going on?
Posted by: RK | Apr 4, 2008 2:36:40 AM
So I'm watching Obama supporters in the comments here & elsewhere call for the other fellow (not themselves, of course) to act 'for the good of the party'.
Not that they themselves feel any need to court the voters Obama would need if he did win the nomination. Maybe they'll just send Chicago "machine" thugs to enforce their "platform": vote for us because we have better slurs to describe women, white people, and poor people! We got da best insults!
Like, why would any right-minded person want to attach themselves to a movement as repugnant as what Obama's candidacy has degenerated into? Who in their right mind would want to be associated with Obama's supporters?
Look at this. Even the women behave and talk like drooling drunks ranting about the b*** that dared to walk out on them. (SHE MADE ME SMACK HER! She deserved it! She NEEDED it! F- W- !)
How amusing to see people defend this sort of "discourse" even as they continue to blame the other side.
Everyone better shut up and go "show some unity", or else you might get called dirty names!
BOY THAT'LL SHOW 'EM!

No surprise that anyone from Air America spews vulgarity. Are they still on the air? Hmpf. Didn't realize that. They aren't successful... perhaps since they are hard leftists who can't make a point without going below the belt? The types that would bend over backwards and preach "tolerance" for a every perverted "lifestyle" but can't tolerate it when someone disagrees with them... When Hillary Clinton is targeted with this kind of hatred it shows how the extreme leftists of the Democrat party operate. If you disagree, you are a "racist" or a wh..... They are like rotten little children pitching a fit.
NOBAMA!
GO HILLARY!!!

Seriously, How can you vote against the better interests of the Democratic party? You would actually rather split the party even further apart by voting for another dismal republican era than vote for Obama? You are acting like children and sore losers. A protest vote reminicent of Nader Now who's acting "irresponsibly" and "irrationally"? Even I would stomach any democrat over MCain or any other republican nominee at this point. Get real.
I am absolutely dumbfounded over how hostile Clinton supporters are to Obama. I dont see alot to dislike. Not perfect but he doesnt claim to be. I just see a larger overzealous lot who remind me of the confusion I have about all those people who still support Bush or did for so long in the face of it all. I guess no matter what Hillary can do no wrong and Obama is just an devil in disguise. Good and evil. Black and white. Hmm sounds familiar.
I havent heard one reasonable intelligent response as to why Obama shouldnt be president. But Ive heard plenty of why I shouldnt vote Mcain.
A friend at work made a great analogy the other day, he's from Chicago and a die hard Cubs fan. The Cubs being the democrats. With all we have going for us this election I may have to admit we just arent up to winning.
At least there will be one hell of a party when Bush is finally gone regardless of the future. Yeah she said some nasty things. Get over it, a lot of people dont like what Hillary and Bill are doing. I cant figure you out. Just hope you come around or leave for good when its time to vote. With all the terrible things that are happening out there to the people and our planet, shame on you. We dont need shaky Democrats we need strong democrats. We have an opportunity to come closer together all sides young and old left or right as Democrats. We would be unstopable if we could be united. Both her and him are virtually the same on the issues. So what would be the big loss if he should get the nomination? You would really be voting for the same thing as far as it relates to the benefits to the lives of you your families and friends.

At one of her campaign in Michigan she said I know that this election will not count but now she want the voice of the people in michigan to be heard, even though only her name was on the ballot.
Hun!!!!!!!!, that is true. secret meeting with superD all the time, can we say Is this a power hungry? or want to become president at all cost.?
This make people think twice and I think this is why people start to thing negative about her.
Let chill out and wait for the next primary

Gosh, I guess Randi Rhodes will be ducking her head and running across the runway as shots from Clinton supporters fly over her head...

Her tax return will sun be released.
Not running for her safety, becuase she will not be under snipper fire anymore.

I agree with you McCain is going to win big. Obama will only carry Illinois.
Posted by: David | Apr 4, 2008 1:20:08 AM
JGaw,
Your vote will not mean anything, you might be black or pink, it does not matter. We need somebody who will bring change, some people said that white will not vote for him but majority of us donated to his campaign, he brought in $40m last month while other are behind.
Majority like his way of approaching problem.
One of our elder stateman has finally decided to vote for him sa superD former President J Carter. to mention name. But you are still sleeping in the dark age.
God save our soul.
Either you like it or not, he is our next president.
I will say no more. November election will say the rest.

Obama has not been able to touch the base he will not win the general listen to the media and of course they will tell you this primary will end july first and that wil be enough time for all to heal but I think not we have a split a big onein this party
Posted by: Bishop | Apr 4, 2008 1:00:09 AM
asatkins:
Thank you so much for your prediction
As you can see a lot of us are going to stick with the Obama cannot win against mccain in the general election
obama is not ready to be president
before he started his run for president
my black brother and sister didn't know anything about him.
as a black woman I have more reasons not to vote for obama than I have reasons to:
voting for obama because he is black is not the reason to vote for him
and I will not waste your time or mine (but I could)listing the reason not to vote for him
I would love to see a black person in the white house=but not this way the media and the obama people are bring change alright-they have brought a new way to play dirty politics
and as far as him being a uniter
I am seeing our country more divided than ever
he has divided the black community
because blacks who support him are threatening blacks who do not.
so if you do not support obama-you had better keep it to your self.
that is not uniting
We do not fully know obama
and the things the media are suppressing the rep will bring out and make it worse in the ge.
he will not win againsts mccain
the rev. wright issue will come up again
his mothers political views will come up and once fox news gets finished putting obama history against mccain the war hero-he has not got a chance
he will get the black vote and some white
but it will not be enough to win him the white house

@ Hugh..
To call Hillary Clinton mediocre is stunning. She was our First Lady for 8 years, Arkansas First Lady for 12 years, she is a lawyer, an author, a mother, a wife, a grammy winner and the first First Lady elected to the United States Senate and the
first woman elected statewide in New York. As the Senator representing New York after 9/11, she has fought to strengthen our approach to homeland security and to improve our communications and intelligence operations. As the first New Yorker ever named to the Senate Armed Services Committee,Hillary has been a tough critic of the administration's bungling of Iraq and a fierce advocate for proper equipment, health benefits, and treatment for military families.
AND SHE IS THE FIRST FEMALE IN OUR HISTORY TO CAMPAIGN TO BE ELECTED AS THE POTUS.
Mediocre...one wonders what qualities one needs to be called average.
You must be MALE. ROFL.

These media people amaze me. Before Obama, Bill Clinton was a rock star. I can understand the people on the blog but the media should be reporting the facts not showing their undying love for Obama.

Hillary is more change than Obama he is using all the old team players where are the newbies Hillary was great on Jay Leno. she has alot of people who will followif she runs independent its about time we had a real third party in this country.

I not in love , but note this is a reality.
I hardly post comments but whatever I say it will turn out to be true.
You watch coming Nov.
He is going to win big

Guys do you remember what I said last time?
If No, I said this man called Obama is unstopable.
He is still riding high.
only God knows where he got his talents
from.
This is the only man I think will Unite us and the world. I have given up I will vote for him.
He is going to win the November election landslide. John will not win up to 10 states.
Note my word again. I will come back to say I have told you

It's simply someone being hateful and whose verbiage is unacceptable to most people, regardless of who they're politically backing. She's not funny; she truly says and symbolizes nothing. It's the choice to centerpiece her that's the most telling.
Posted by: katrina | Apr 4, 2008 12:05:04 AM
it is so unfortunate that people will stoop so low and say just anything under the guise of getting a laugh.
what she said is not funny, and is not comedy-they were insults-toward (not matter what you think of them-the facts still remains)two women who most assuredly fought for her-and helped her to get where she is today. I can remember a time when there were no female djays.
anderson cooper did his part in race baiting tonight, and he continues to show his bias-while talking tonight he had a picture in the background of hillary and the caption-race baiting.
now he did not come out and say hillary was race baiting-but he had the picture there.
I hope all the voters left to vote
will send a message loud and clear-
to the media-we do not like the media favoring one candidate over another
Jane Fonda endorsing obama-just added another notch to the obama will not win stick. against mccain.
All the opportunist seem to be going for obama-noone really care who Jane Fonda is for-but jane knows bad publicity if better than no publicity
hillary was talking about the economy
months ago.
obama copies her
Hillary is the only one who can get us back on the right track
this is not the year for the symbolic presidential win.
Hillary 08'
and please do not forget obama supporters
he will not win the white house against mccain without hillary and the hillary supporters.

I remember a few years ago I heard Randi Rhodes say she has big crush on Bill Clinton. i do detect a hint of jealousy and her claws comes out everytime she talks about Hillary >:-)

More insight in Clinton political ethics, in today's Wall Street Journal:
"Hillary Clinton's chief campaign strategist met with Colombia's ambassador to the U.S. on Monday to discuss a bilateral free-trade agreement, a pact the presidential candidate opposes.
Attendance by the adviser, Mark Penn, was confirmed by two Colombian officials. He wasn't there in his campaign role, but in his separate job as chief executive of Burson-Marsteller Worldwide, an international communications and lobbying firm."

@ "How do other countries view our media? How do they view a nation that allows a former First Lady to be so deplorably assassinated by our pundits and
reporters?"
As far as I've understood, the only thing other countries fail to understand is why Americans would sent one of the most corrupt political families in the US back to the White House. While overseas there still exists a sympathy for Bill Clinton, people fail to see why such a mediocre woman as his wife would have the honor to run against a brilliant politician in the presidential race. They wonder as well if democracy in the USA is slowly being replaced by an oligarchy.

I listen to Rhodes and disagree with her on many things. But, she is an intelligent, and outspoken democrat who takes on Republicans with fire, can match the rightwing hosts any day. On Hillary, I think, most of Americans would agree with Rhodes, just because Clintons have stooped too low during this campaign. Bill is totally out of control, lost all the respect he had earned. Hillary continues to upgrade herself with new lies every day. How much more Americans have to take from Hillary and Bill? ENOUGH!!!!HILLARY GO AWAY!!!
