Clinton on Easley Street
April 29, 2008 9:57 AM
One week before the North Carolina primary, Gov. Mike Easley comes out for Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY.
Easley said that Clinton "makes Rocky Balboa look like a pansy," per ABC News' Eloise Harper, in a comment that assuredly will cause something of a ruckus among Clinton's myriad gay supporters.
Easley also took a shot at Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, though he didn't make any references to his looking like a "pansy."
"There’s a lot of ‘yes we can’ and ‘yes we should’ going on," Easley said. "Hillary Clinton is ready to deliver, that’s the difference.”

Talk about “chickens coming home to roost.” Obama began a vicious campaign against Hillary by going after her character in a shallow, insulting way. He gave praise to Reagan, which of course is fine. However, he took praise a step further (obvious political plan) to bring up Bill Clinton (a fellow Democrat) into a negative light in comparison to a Republican. You Obama, do not use Karl Rove tactics, your tactics are unique in a megalomaniac sort of way, until the real you slips in on the stump; i.e. “Bitter”. You thought that would work, but it simply added to a list of insults you and your campaign have developed for those voting for Hillary or McCain. Everything you have done IS political, no matter how low. But the people didn’t accept your political attacks on them. We believe in issues first as a people, naturally. Who a person is also means a lot. Many of us caught on to who you are long ago. I am glad the rest of America is finally seeing it too. By the way, I am half black and that side of me has cringed at many of the attacks you have made against the Clintons. We know Bill’s weaknesses. We also know their records. They are good people in general. You Mr. Obama are NO saint. I like Hillary because of her intelligence, determination and proven record of doing the most possible for the people. All of you use politics, but you used it by coming in as a “Unifier” when in fact you were performing a cannibalistic move on a woman who is respected by many. Your attempt to make your views seem elite, proved your elitist attitude in your “I deserve to be President” campaign.

Hilliary and Rev. Wright are in this together to get Barrack to Denounce Re. Wright to get black votes! Do not Believe? Wright was one of Guest Speakers at Clintons Breakfast club in White House! If not wondering? Read on Secret " Family Religion " in White House and tell me different?

Belle-Star...LOL! ,,"axelbama" I love it! You are much more creative than myself. Richardson really hitched his cart to the wrong horse. I think he is beginning to realize this.

Belle Star,
When they both had rally in Oregon,Bill R gave a speech which praised him and spoke like a salesman.
He spoke in Spanish eventhough not many hispanic attended the rally.
I wonder, what he is going to do now?

CD,
If you think Hillary tried to buy this election how about Obama?
How many super delegates have endorsed him?
Every time he lose, the next day he'd get endorsement.
That doesn't make sense at all.
He must made some promises to them.
Anyway, he can buy this election not Hillary because she is broke (Obama supporters said this).

Richardson's the one I almost feel sorry for. Given his uncharacteristically-hysterical demeanor in recent teevee appearances, maybe Axelbama extorted Richardson's "endorsement" in some way (if SO, now would be the time for Richardson to blow the whistle on 'em).

Nooo. Obama's outspending Clinton 3-to-1 again, just as in Pennsylvania (which he lost ANYway, before Reverend Wright and Alice Palmer).
Are Tarheels going for Obama's crap? Let's hope NOT.
Posted by: Belle Starr | Apr 29, 2008 3:57:49 PM
Hillary does not have the money to buy the election, unlike Bama who is outspending her again and losing again. What did Bama promise Richardson...VP? Maybe thats why "Pelousy" says no dream ticket.

What has Hillary promised Easley? She is trying to buy this election. N.C. - don't fall for this!
Posted by: CD | Apr 29, 2008 3:37:54 PM
It's hard to imagine that he has any organization to help her with. Everyone (including his old organization) is already lined up with the two candidates for governor. So in terms of effect, the endorsement is minimal: it is good for her because it means somebody who's popular endorsed her, but it's not anywhere near as significant as the fact that the 2 Dem candidates for Governor (who will actually be out there pulling votes) both endorsed Obama, or the endorsement of Clinton by Rendell back in PA.

Whatcha wanna bet that Wright's ALREADY talking/talked? Obama's having a press conference, and he's stuttering and stammering. I'd bet on Wright and the black church de-throning this fraud, doing the "media"'s job.

I was very glad to hear Gov. Easley endorsed Hillary.
Hillary did not give birth to the Rev. Wright. If you want to blame anyone blame Bill Moyers for inviting him to do an interview. That is what got the ball rolling.

I am so with you woodburykt. I am so disgusted with Olbermann and his spin on the Wright issue. Last night, they were spinning the Wright issue out to be a jealous man because Obama is getting all the attention. That's desperate journalism for you. I tell you this, Obama can't split from Wright and Wright has a very long leash to talk because if Wright spills all that he knows about Obama....its the end of his presidential nomination. I am so glad this nomination process has been prolonged...Obama's chickens are coming home to roost.

Seems we have our own axis of evil wanting to be president. Clinton had few endearing qualities to begin with but what she has done to the Dems is something else; She has gotten them at each other's throat. McCain will get us the same things that have put this country in the worst condition it has ever been in; today there is even fear that people will start hoarding food, can you believe that? Pity Obama, who didn't think that those in his own party would do a job on him but Hillary would be president at any price. But she has done a job on herself too because there isn't going to be a healing in November and many Dems are going to sit it out. The GOP might just give Hillary a medal; they certainly have much to thank her for.

The word is polarizing. She knows it and she is repackaging her polarizing, divisive image into that of a "fighter". Com'on America can't you see thru that? That woman isn't a fighter she is a dictator. Her and Bill and now Chelsea represent a monarchy this country cannot afford.
I'm sick of seeing her tout her "fighter" image to deflect the fact that she is is so polarizing and divisive. We have had 4 years of total gridlock in Washington and we are going to get 4 more if she wins the nomination or GE which she cannot do.
Her fighting image equates to four more years of George Bush. I ask you America, how has this been working for us?

Desperate indeed. Wright "chatted" with this (black, female) minister, then decided to go to the podium and throw the faithless Obama, supposedly his friend of twenty years, under the bus? The wonder is that this story even made it INTO the MSM.
This sounds like an accusation of witchcraft, which is right in line with the Axelbama campaign's anti-woman activities to date.

You Obama backers are delusional if you think Hillary is to blame for Wright shooting off his mouth again. He's on a BOOK TOUR people; he was actively pushing his to-be-released book.
Morning Joe pointed out this morning that politicians don't jump onto sinking ships - and they also don't back losers. Maybe Easley knows something we don't know yet.

News flash! I am shocked, shocked to learn that Obama, Clinton, and McCain are politicians. There is politics taking place here.
Politicians lie. They all lie, and they lie all the time. Don't let anyone tell you different.
The only way you can tell what a politician might do in the future is look at what they have done in the past; how they have voted, what people they associated with, and what causes they championed.
I support Hillary because of what she has done, the causes she has championed, and the people in her circle. Obama has not really done much, and I do not particularly like the people he has chosen to associate with over the years.

There is so much "I hate Hillary" in this blog. It makes my head spin. You see the same thing in the exclusively "red state" blogs. Perhaps these are the same people. However, I get the impression that that haters are either far left or far right. (The two extremes of the political bell curve.) This hatred seems completely irrational. The Clinton supporters seem less inclinded to hate Obama, though some do. Anti-Obamacans mostly seem to think he cannot win.
Just an observation. Please feel free to ignore this.

Way to go Hillary! This is a woman of true grit and determination in working hard for the American people. The Obamanations are pointing the fingers again, the usual defense for Obama is to go on the offense and blame Hillary, but Obama can't make excuses for 20 years with the crazy racist Rev. Wright. Where is Obama's 1999-2003 tax returns? Why won't he release them? Isn't Obama completely transparent?
GO and GO HILLARY 08!

For all of us who support Obama and as a former supporter of the Clintons, you will appreciate the fact how all of this will turn on the Clintons if we get enough of the MSM to report it!
I have been beating my head against the wall, as to WHY NOW? Wright has been silent for so long and there is no doubt that the Clintons have used some of the $129,000,000 that they have earned to get him in front of the camera enough to create anxiety among white working voters. Well, this white working voter will not fall for this crap...

All very interesting, but the big point is being missed. Most people opposing Obama may have questions/doubts about him. I think an incredible number of those opposing Hillary just HATE her.
In other words, he has some chance of converting his opponents. She has almost none. Especially with independents.

Easley gets it. If Clinton is the nominee, the election is more likely to be about the economy, health care, teh war... If Obama is the nominee, this election is going to be about Wright, Ayers, flag pins, Rezko, bitter/cling.... Obama's claim to be vested with a unique capacity to transcend our divisions and unify the country is now exposed as the fallacy that it has always been...

In my most humble opinion, it appears as though Rev. Wright and the Michigan branch of the NAACP are on Hillary Clinton’s side. They are out to make Obama look bad, and they are doing a really good job.
They want Hillary to win.
They need Hillary to win.
They loved the Clinton years.
So, Rev. Wright, the Michigan branch of the NAACP, and most people of Michigan want Hillary to win. So watch this, as May 6 approaches, Rev Wright’s comments and appearances will intensify. Obama will look bad, voters to loose trust, and Hillary will come out smelling like roses.
In addition, Rev Wright is making all of the church leaders and preachers of all RACES look really, really bad. Now that’s sad!!!!
Hey, Gov. Mike Easley...welcome to the team!!!
btw...REV WRIGHT DOES NOT REPRESENT THE BLACK CHURCH
Posted by: JustMyObservation | Apr 29, 2008 11:15:44 AM
If Hillary Clinton manages to cheat her way to the nomination, using race-cards and lies - I will not vote Democratic. Dean laughably tells us that we democrats will be nice little sheep and fall into the party line when the election comes in November.
Wrong.
I will not reward gutter politics. I would rather have 100 years of John McCain, than four years of Hillary.
The Democrats are probably better off picking a third person right now to serve as candidate.
Posted by: Irritated | Apr 29, 2008 11:05:32 AM
Where is the proof that the Rev. Dr. Jeremiah Wright is a manipulated shill of the Clinton campaign?
By contrast, this morning Hillary acted swiftly to change the subject AWAY from Obama's meltdown. There's some pretty substantial proof.
It is no one's fault but Obama's that he chose to stick with his politically expedient choice of congregations.
By contrast, Oprah Winfrey left the very same church over disagreements with Wright. Obama did not.

What pushed Easley into a public declaration of his support was Hillary's "obliterate Iran" recommendation, right? Just like John "bomb, bomb, bomb, bomb bomb Iran" McCain.
Like all these "pre-emptive attacks" have worked so well for us so far. No wonder the rest of the world is convinced we'll all on oxy-contin.

@ Carolina...
Your premise that the DNC has struck a money deal for the Super Delegates pledge to support Obama falls flat.
You must ask yourself...
WHY wouldn't at least 50% of the Super Delegates support Hillary from the start if she is such a great candidate? Wouldn't they have supported her campaign from the beginning since she was the inevitable nominee? Washington HATES the Clintons and don't want them back in power...why? They're dirty and if elected, not only will it be business as usual, the Clintons would have to give their return on the investments of the large contributors of Clinton's library...why haven't they released that info? They have a lot to hide, whereas, Obama owes NO ONE ANYTHING! Not only in Illinois, but in the US Senate, he passed the toughest ethics reform bill EVER! Clintons and ethics cannot be used positively in the same sentence.
I know it's hard...I loved Bill, notsomuch Hillary, but I supported her thinking that he would be a great ambassador to the world, despite his hound dog tendencies. Take a breath, and just let go! You'll feel so much better after you do!

From my own recollection, HRC spoke in NH and told the people of NH that Mich SHOULD NOT COUNT. She is no Rocky Balboa, she is Richard Nixon, champion liar.
From the ABC blog
Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., has staked her path to the Democratic nomination on the officially illegitimate contests held in Michigan and Florida somehow being recognized, in opposition to Democratic National Committee rules.
What's so remarkable about this is that two of the Clinton campaign's most important strategists have in the past taken the stand that these states should abide by the DNC's instructions -- even if that meant stripping them of their delegates.
In direct contrast to the positions they hold now.

Hillary has nothing to say about restoring the Constitution. If she wins, nothing changes.
She is the establishment. So what if the governor is for her. Her own husband Bill, used the unconstitutional practice of "signing statements" used by Bush and Hitler to ignore the laws of Congress. She is just another insider, with no sense of justice.
Her lies about counting Michigan tell it best. She told the people of New Hampshire that Michigan should not count, but now she says they should count. That is not "being tough as Rocky", that is being a bigger liar than Richard Nixon.

I hope you libs are happy with what you are doing to this great Country of the USA -
Causing Health care costs to rise, by enabling you Elitist Lawyers to sue over petty things, by attacking our Drug companies, by allowing Illegals into this country! Cut out that and Health care costs would drop dramatically.
Cause Starvation around the would by pushing an untested Ethonal and giving subsidies to farmers
Causing oil prices to skyrocket because of ethonal and not allowing us to drill.
Thanks Pelosi your helping by attacking the President, on the oil reserves which would do nothing to the price of oil!
Why dont you remove the taxes, that would save 35 cents and then if the states like your would cut theres that would save over a dollar! compared to if the oil companies 8 cents profit!
But instead you libs want to raise the taxes. Let us know is this part of Global 2000?

i guess, sen. clinton put the stick in rev. wrights mouth and made him say all the things he said.
I was wondering how long it would take before the obama rev. wright woes would be blamed on sen. clinton. and here it is.
maybe we should see if barbara reynolds called sen. clinton to see if sen. clinton asked rev. wright to speak.
if the clintons are evil
obama is the anti-christ.
because his disciples have it sewn up for him any way you slice it.
rev. wright is obama's problem
if obama had used better judgement
the first sign of rev. wright preaching over the last 20year what he is preaching now. he should have carried his family elsewhere to worship.
I thought you went to church for spritual uplift and renewal, not to have the preacher preach the dozens
and not all black churches are like that.

Clinton squeaks out an upset win in NC
If/when that happens, let's all watch Chris Matthews and Keith Overbight at MSNBC burst into tears.

Indiana looks good for Hillary, now it may be a lot closer in N.C. than anybody thought. The lifeboats on "good ship Obama" are being watched by the SuperD's to see if supporters start jumping in and paddeling away. This should be an interesting week for my gal. GO HILLARY 08
