Hillary Clinton's Clinton Administration Amnesia, Part Two

April 30, 2008 4:30 PM

Having taken many looks at Sen. Hillary Clinton's attempts to distance herself from the pro-NAFTA events she participated in, today we take a look at how she's bashing the Bush administration for letting the high-tech magnet manufacturer Magnetech head to China -- when it was her husband's administration that first allowed the Chinese consortium to buy the company despite concerns at the time about jobs and national security.

finally ABC is reporting on the clinton's lies--just ask george he will give you plenty of dirt!!

@just my observation
are you serious?
the first site you gave us was steven reynolds trying to make a name for himself-and you fell for it.
(this has NOTHING to do with sen. clinton)
and it does not relate to obama/wright
first of all it was former pastor of sen. clinton-more than 8years?\
rev. wright just became obama' former pastor-a few months ago-and it was not because obama left him-the man retired.
and obama did not even announce him as his former pastor until the neg press can out. and then the word former was used.
these preachers didn't marry the clintons didn't baptise their child
and the last 3 links were of the same story.
but you put listed them to make it look as if you had some REAL DIRT
let me ask you do you mind if we pick the next president on how well they plan to deal with the issues that face use today?
if you did not like it because obama was getting bad press for wright.
the answer is not to -well, lets go and see if we can cook up a sen. clinton pastor problem
when sen. clintons pastor comes out and says god dam american
and say black people are the cause of 911
then we can deal
but until then-stay on the issues

Senator Hillary Clinton should not be held responsible for every action of the Clinton Adm. She definitely was against NAFTA.
If voters believe this, they should also believe that Obama was responsible for Rev. Wright's performances and hate preaching, Bill Ayers terrorist bombings and Tony Resko's defrauding $100 million of other people's money simple because of the close association. Both candidates should be judged fairly.
If one more voter or super delegates chooses Obama, this country is indeed in trouble. Clinton for President.

john; nobody is debating your reaction. as a hillary supporter i agree with you on the issue of double standards. that is what we have been arguing ABOUT since the beginning of this campaign. NO DOUBLE STANDARDS PLEASE! state the facts, proof, citations, sources cited versus hysteria and insults. i agree with you also on your position that if hillary wants to take the credit for her husbands administration she also needs to take the heat.

Who the hell cares about who Hillary would date? Is that news?
She would lie about that too.

Posted by: dane | Apr 30, 2008 6:05:39 PM

jgaw: what media world are you living in, especially as you post on an abc news site. Hillary is the one who constantly talks about her experience in her husband's administration as being relevant and then cherry picks which experiences are now appropriate to discuss. It was ABC that did the hatchet job on Obama in the last debate with Clinton's former employee as the moderator. It was Obama who says that Rev Wright is an appropriate issue for discussion and then addresses the issue head-on. Clinton is now going on about this terrible specific job loss in Indiana when it was directly attributable to her husband administration. She can say that she wouldn't have done it but to pretend that it didn't happen that way is another Bosnia misstep. Clinton really will say and do anything, she lies constantly and has absolutely no integrity. Even The New York Times has turned against her vacuous deceitful politics. I'm sorry but there isn't enough estrogen in the world that could make Hillary seem like an honest person, she is morally bankrupt.

Is It Hillary's Turn to 'Denounce and Reject' a Problematic Pastor?

Hmmmmm, I wonder why none of these reports have surfaced on ABC, NBC, CNN, and CBS?

Posted by: JustMyObservation | Apr 30, 2008 5:49:53 PM

I am not sure who knew what and when:

See this excerpt:

"Magnequench began its corporate life back in 1986 as a subsidiary of General Motors. Using Pentagon grants, GM had developed a new kind of permanent magnet material in the early 1980s. It began manufacturing the magnets in 1987 at the Magnequench factory in Anderson, Indiana.

In 1995, Magnequench was purchased from GM by Sextant Group, an investment company headed by Archibald Cox, Jr-the son of the Watergate prosecutor. After the takeover, Cox was named CEO. What few knew at the time was that Sextant was largely a front for two Chinese companies, San Huan New Material and the China National Non-Ferrous Metals Import and Export Corporation. Both of these companies have close ties to the Chinese government. Indeed, the ties were so intimate that the heads of both companies were in-laws of the late Chinese premier Deng Xiaopeng.

At the time of the takeover, Cox pledged to the workers that Magnequench was in it for the long haul, intending to invest money in the plants and committed to keeping the production line going for at least a decade.

Three years later Cox shut down the Anderson plant and shipped its assembly line to China. Now Cox is presiding over the closure of Magnequench's last factory in the US, the Valparaiso, Indiana plant that manufactures the magnets for the JDAM bomb. Most of the workers have already been fired."

Read the article in toto and see where Bush 2 could really have stopped this and chose to do nothing:

to undesrstand nafta one has to approach it from a historical perspective-the economy then versus the conomic crisis of today. then; clinton led the county in unprecedented economic expansion and prosperity. clinton believed that nafta and trade relations in general would lead to democratization, improved relations with other countries, and improved human rights (think china). this was a massive undertaking into un- charters waters. does it need to improve absolutely. but at least clinton employed trade policy approaches to improve internnational relations instead of bombing other nations into submission like our president administration.

I wonder when will reporters start doing their jobs and reporting real things that concern us today and over the next four years.
Sen. clinton is NOT responsible for the decisions her husbands adm made. when she was first lady, all right minded reporters and everyone else knows that it was her job as first lady to support and do what she could to help.
if sen. clinton was against nafta during her husbands term-(as david gergen said) it would have been proper for her to not make that public.
I wonder if Laura Bush REALLY supported w going to war? If she did not-she better had not said it. I can remember someone trying to get her to get to say and she did not.
fastforward-Sen. Clinton is now running for president-and it is her place to let it be known what her policies would be. (now we already know she and bill do not agree on the columbian trade agreement-so what) do we all think we are so close to the clintons that we should know everytime they agree or disagree about public policies?
once again she is not running for first lady of a past presidency.
she is running for president now.
you reporters stop cherry picking things from the past to report about.
and bill clintons administration is the past.
if she claims any of the successes of bill' administration-you jump her for that (nevermind she is still a citizen-who can say what she liked or didn't like about the Bill Clinton Years)
and
If she is trying to make her present stand known-you jump her for that-and go back and YOU can pick from bills administration- (but you only pick the negative-to tie to her)
you never tie any of the good that happened in his adm to her today.

no what I believe you are doing today
is trying to find the most sensational headline you can give-(always something)
negative) to help quiet the obama/wright fiasco.

and we can always count on you to try and give us something negative about Sen. Clinton.
noway would you let obama get all of this negative press. and not put something negative out there about sen.clinton.
when it is good for obama-it is 24/7 good press
when it is bad for obama-it is get rid of it as soon as possible-and lets get some negative up there about sen. clinton.

so-sen. clinton-having the media spin as much as they can about her in the negative..

what' new?

Rumor has it, that Rev. Wright and his body guards are on Hillary’s payroll. Months ago, Hillary was looking for a few hired guns and she found them. Just last week, witnesses shared that James Carville was seen passing, what appeared to be, an envelope filled with $100 bills to Rev. Wright. Cash under the table???? The meeting was held in a local diner a couple of days before Rev. Wright was to meet with Bill Moyer. Two questions: 1) why would Rev. Wright meet with James Carville who is a member of Hillary Clinton’s posse? 2) why does a preacher need body guards?

I thought a lot of this was rather strange, but then I noticed that Rev. Wright has been in rare form lately…making more appearances then usual, hooping and hollering like some egotistical maniac. And Hillary? Wow…it seems as though she sort of just sat in the corner and watched it all. Noticed how she hasn’t said anything worth mentioning, but managed to pick up a few key endorsements for the next primary states.

Like a big cat stalking it’s prey, Hillary suddenly pounces, joining the ranks of Obama and McCain, along with half the nation, in denouncing Rev. Wright’s remarks. Hey, Hillary…welcome to the parade, but aren’t you a little late? Hmmmm, I wonder why? Hint. Hint. But we all understand, it the right thing to do, politically speaking.

As May 6 approaches, Rev Wright’s comments and appearances will intensify. Obama will look bad, voters will loose trust, and Hillary will come out smelling like roses. In addition, Rev Wright is making all of the church leaders and preachers of all RACES look really, really bad. Now that’s sad!!!!

More excuses for Hillary's unethical behavior. Why can't she or her husband ever just tell the truth? The American people are tired of being governed by power hungry leaders who don't care about them.

Thanks for sending out an alert about Obama.

We are living and working in Kenya for almost twelve years now and know his family (tribe) well. They are the ones who were behind the recent Presidential election chaos here.

Thousands of people have been displaced by election violence (over 350,000) and I don’t know the last count of the dead.

Obama under “friends of Obama” gave almost a million dollars to the opposition campaign who just happened to be his cousin, Raila Odinga, who is a socialist trained in East Germany. He has been trying to bring Kenya down for years and the last president threw him in prison for trying to subvert this country!

Forget the world of the last decade; we have to deal with the world of today!

We have to protect the world of tomorrow.

PLEASE READ THIS!!!!!

Typical Clinton--lying through her teeth again and having a convenient memory loss regarding her and Bill in The White House the first time--She is a FRAUD!!!!!

Posted by: Dan A | Apr 30, 2008 5:31:50 PM

She back these (mistakes) as you put it. NOW different story ,lying out of both sides of her mouth.First she takes credit and now the voters don't want this so she was against it...She is a PATHOLOGICAL liar.....

Posted by: honest | Apr 30, 2008 5:31:12 PM

Hillary had a hand in everything that was good
about the 90's. She disagrees and distances herself
from everything that was wrong during Bill's time in the White House.

Pathetic.

hey i support hillary, absolutely. however unlike obama supporters i want to know the truth-even if the outcome is not favorable or in conflict with my candidate. the fact is nafta worked for some (mostly the corporations) but it did not work for all. i do agree with hilllary's stated postion that she intends as president to make changes to nafta and i believe that she will. unlike obama who also committed to changes and then his staff (behind our back) informed canada that obama's 'changes' wink, wink were merely political posturing. so i will settle for my candidates statement that nafta needs to change-versus obama who only made that commitment to appeal to blue collar voters. i believe that nafta has had disastrous effects overall-i think most of us agree with that. the real focus should be, what are we going to do about it? incidentally ralph nader warned us about nafta and the consequences to american labor. REMEMBER?

Why don't you check out Hillary's connections to Women's Voices for Women's Vote? They have been making robo calls to the preceding primary states using the name "Lamont Williams." Now, they are doing it in North Carolina. It is called voter fraud.

Maggie Williams is on the board. And, other Hillary supporters.
Laws have been broken.

Didn't Bill Clinton let Osama Bin Laden get away while he was dealing with his impeachment? Soon after his wife votes to send us to a unjust war where BIN LADEN IS NOT AT! When will the media talk about that?

Posted by: Erik | Apr 30, 2008 5:10:25 PM

After reading the story, it appears that the Clinton Administration approved the Magnequench sale to Chinese interests with the provision that "the technology and production remain in the U.S." Clearly it wasn't until after Bush came into power this company and all others that make these magnets shipped their plants overseas. I feel that as in NAFTA, the initial moves by the Clinton Administration were sound, but during the Bush Administration any opening was used to ship jobs overseas. When the Clinton Administration was advancing NAFTA and allowing this sale who could have foreseen the horrible way Bush and his greedheads would twist them against the best interests of America and its people.
