It's the "Rocky" Road for Hillary Clinton

April 01, 2008 10:13 AM

Ap_hillary_rocky2_080401_mn In a speech in Philadelphia today, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, compared herself to Philly icon Rocky Balboa.

Watch the VIDEO HERE.

"Well, could you imagine if Rocky Balboa had gotten half way up those Art Museum steps and said, 'Well, I guess that’s about far enough?'" Clinton asked.

"Let me tell you something, when it comes to finishing the fight, Rocky and I have a lot in common," she will tell the Pennsylvania A.F.L.-C.I.O. audience. "I never quit.  I never give up.  And neither do the American people."

Um….Senator?

Rocky lost.

It was a split decision, but the judges (superdelegates?) awarded the fight to Rocky's black opponent, Apollo Creed.

ANNOUNCER: Judge Walker scores it eight-seven Creed... Judge Roseman scores it eight-seven Balboa. Judge Conners scores it nine-six Creed... Winner and still Heavyweight Champion of the World, Apollo Creed!

(As a Philadelphian, I am not going to get into Rockys II through 6.)

The Republican National Committee reminds me that Sylvester Stallone has endorsed Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz. Watch HERE.

If Sen. Obama is the Democratic nominee, it would be a big mistake! I am sure the Republicans are going to make Rev. Wright his running-mate in the fall. They will tie Rev. Wright around Sen. Obama’s neck like an albatross! Having not won even a one major state during the primaries and having manipulated the caucuses with small groups of zealots, but now not in play for the presidential election, Mr. Obama is going to find himself stuck! Remember, old Ralph is in the game too. That will be end of story for Democrats. The best chance of winning the White House for the Democrats is still with Sen. Hillary Clinton.

Then I compare Obama to the group Queen!

WE...WILL...WE...WILL...BARACK YOU!!!
WE...WILL...WE...WILL...BARACK YOU!!!

Go Obama 2008!!!!

I guess yet again, she was going on "the best available information"...

Doesn't seem to working out to well for her either.

This is more the Rocky Horror Show than Rocky Balboa, when it should be the Great Ali. One is reminded of the old rope a dope. The champ has his back to the ropes, while the monster contender throws everything she can at him including the kitchen sink. The crowd gasps in horror as the champ takes punch after punch. Then with a grin on his face, the champ comes off the ropes and in a few deft moves, dispatches the exhausted contender. Wham, Bam, and Obama is off to the White House.

You people who have nothing better to do than trash Hillary, what have you ever accomplished? Hillary has worked hard all her life to help this country. Have any of you read any of her biographies? She is a remarkable woman. It is sad to see a biased press attack her on minor details. They nit-pick every word she says, while no one has brought to light the many outrageous lies Obama has told. In one of the debates he was asked about his relationship with indicted fellon Tony Rezko, and he answered,"My only relationship to that individual is that I did 5 hours of legal work for him as part of my law firm." I guess Mr. Obama forgot about having known Rezko for 20 years, and I guess he forgot that Rezko helped him buy his 1 1/2 million dollar house and I guess he forgot that Rezko has raised $200,000 for him throughout the years! I'll take Mrs. Clinton's little exagerations over Obama's HUGE LIES any day!

Hillary still needs to release her tax records. Obama people need to keep the fire lit under Hillary on that account. Especially now since she's been caught lying about her achievements.

The biggest scam is this idiot logic that Obama finishes with 53% of the delegates, the super delegates MUST vote him into the nomination.

That itself is a scam that has propogated itself in the media.

Nancy Pelosi is a moron. How did she get the position at the House of Representatives? She was ineffective then, and ineffective now. Dem's have the majority but under her leadership--Democrats might as well be the minority.
Why doesn't she open her mouth when it comes to doing some REAL work. Of course she wants to throw in her 2 cents whenever she gets the chance to do so. Dalai Lama took her 2 cents...There is no cure for stupidity.

Senator, Your no Rocky Balboa.

The Balboa character was humble and had integrity. He didnt fight with an "anything to win" style. He faught fair.

Another grandiose delusion to add to the Bosnia sniper fire tale.

Take care.

Facts are stubborn things!!

Posted by: Jerry | Apr 1, 2008 11:57:29 PM

The point is because he is dark skinned, he has let people believe he is African American and will be the first African American president,..he will not be,...as outlined below.

Posted by: Jerry | Apr 1, 2008 11:53:06 PM

Be for real you sound like you are hysterical just like Clinton. I would not have to say I am black to be called black if I was dark enough, that would be defined for me. Obama saying I am not black would be like Tiger when he said it and all I could see was that he was.

Federal law requires that to claim a minority status, you must be at least 1/8 of the descriptor, but for the sake of this article, I've converted it to a decimal fraction for easier comprehension. You must be at least 12.5% of the racial component you claim for minority status. Mr. Obama, claiming to be African-American, is half the legal threshold.

Again, to let it sink in: Mr. Obama is not legally African-American. It is impossible for him to be, in truth, America's first African-American president.

Yet claiming to be African-American is the soul and substance of his claim to fame. It is what he has used throughout his adult life to distinguish himself from other competitors. It is the ethnic identity he proclaims, and it is the ethnic identity he craves. Without it, he is just another mixed race Caucasian Arab with an African influence playing on his skin’s pigmentation.

But no matter what he craves, no matter what he has used to propel himself through life, no matter the racist presumption of seeing his skin and without question calling him black, the hard, cold, genetically inarguable reality remains: he is not an African-American.

Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian, that from his mother. What those who want Mr. Obama to write history by becoming "America's first African-American president" ignore is that his father was ethnically Arabic, with only 1 relative ethnically African Negro - a maternal great-grandparent (Sen. Obama's great-great grandparent, thus the 6.25% ethnic contribution to the senator's ethnic composition.).

That means that Mr. Obama is 50% Caucasian from his mother's side. He is 43.75% Arabic, and 6.25% African Negro from his father's side.

Put another way, his father could honestly claim African-American ethnic classification. He was the last generation able to do so.

Sen. Obama could honestly say, "My father was African-American." Racist presumptions led an Ivy League admissions committee, and lazy "newspapers of record" factcheckers, to presume that if his father is African-American, then Sen. Obama must be African-American also.

But it doesn't work that way. Racist presumptions coupled with sloppy vetting don't turn a lie into the truth.

Sen. Obama is one generation too far removed from the ethnic African Negro input to make the same claim as his father, Harvard's Admission's stamp of approval notwithstanding.

As you can see for yourself, Sen. Obama's African-American ethnic claim, when properly researched and documented, is a lie.

Obama-bots never want any truth. It is just like Jim Jones and his followers,...blindly drinking the Kool-Aid, he can never tell a lie, never do wrong,...No matter what the consequence.

Well kenneththelambinwolfsclothing who gives a damn.

Posted by: Gawania | Apr 1, 2008 11:41:12 PM

Well I guess none of us had to go vote we could have all mailed them in. I am sure that would have been a controversy. Why do some people feel they can disobey the rules and are above themand still feel that they are entitled to the same as everyone else. I just know I do not want someone for president who continually makes a fool out of themself because they have not learned how to respect others.

Posted by: Gawania | Apr 1, 2008 11:38:06 PM

It is not about race,...well he has made it about race,..but it is a big lie. Obama has not made it clear that he is not African American,...because running as the first Arab American presidential candidate would probably not have the same impact would it?
The true racism is that nobody at Harvard or at anytime in his career has done any research because his skin is dark and people "Assumed" he is who he said he was on his application,...all a big lie.

Are you stuck out there in the 50's or something, right now it's not about black or white or woman. Even though Barack is defined black and Hillary woman, I am looking for the person of candor, strength of character, who won't hit and hide his hand. Who can get along with others, we need stability not a figure head. Someone who is intelligent enough to speak without just getting smart with you, lying to you or trying to tell someone off. Someone who will not look like a fool to the rest of the world again.
