Mitt Romney's “Top 10 Reasons for Dropping Out of the Race"
Per Politico's inimitable Mike Allen, Gov. Romney appeared at the Radio & Television Correspondents’ Association dinner, last night where he presented this list:
10. There weren't as many Osmonds as I thought.
9. I got tired of corkscrew landings under sniper fire.
8. As a lifelong hunter, I didn't want to miss the start of the varmint season.
7. There wasn’t room for two Christian leaders.
6. I was upset that no one had bothered to search my passport files.
5. I needed an excuse to get fat, grow a beard and win the Nobel prize.
4. I took a bad fall at a campaign rally and broke my hair.
3. I wanted to finally take off that dark suit and tie, and kick back in a light-colored suit and tie.
2. Once my wife Ann realized I couldn't win, my fundraising dried up.
1. There was a miscalculation in our theory: "As Utah goes, so goes the nation.”

Sen. Obama says he does not take monies from oil exec's but he accepted over $222,000. Obama lied in normal fashion. Saying the Sen. Clinton also took monies does not change the fact the Obama lied again.
Sen. Clinton never denied taking money from these people. Obama said no, no, no .... but the truth was that it was yes, yes, yes.....

Sen. Obama disrespects all the Americans that dies in uniform in Iraq and Afghanistan by maintaining friendships with known terrorist, White Supremist (Farankam and Meeks), and his religious mentor (Wright) that Obama refers to as his uncle. I hope that brothers, sisters, husbands, wifes, etc., didn't die to see someone like Obama become President of the United States.

Does it really matter who wins the race to lose to Mccain this fall?

Maybe Mittens wants to be Hillary's running mate. They are both the same type of politician.
It'd be a natural match.

Romney was funny last night! But, Cheney's was better... he was FUNNY!

Well done Mitt! He would have been a great President - smart and funny! I can't wait to see what role Romney will have in Washington in the future because he has a lot of talent that could be put to good use. The country made a mistake this time around in not making Mitt our nominee.

Cute as Gov. Romney's remarks are, he's out of the race, and of little consequence at this point, but he has given ABC News yet another opportunity to report trivia rather than the real news of the day.
You're better than this, Jake.

50 minutes of tabloidesque dribble devoted to downing Barack Obama with one gentle swipe at the sniper episode (with no follow up)The introductory snippets designed to mark the historical setting should have beamed, Access Hillarywood!
Apparently Biased Commentators only served to feed the frenzy for Sean Hannity and John McCain in determining the agenda. George, guess you're still part of the Clinton team.
Grow up and smell the democracy.

A great many people mistakenly consider themselves to be conservative when they actually advocate government control over large swathes of their lives -- or more correctly -- over other people lives. Huckabee and McCain are actually statists, as was said.
I don't think they like the sound of that though. I mean, they know that sounds bad -- being a statist -- so they call themselves conservatives instead, though they are clearly not.
I don't think being a conservative is a badge of honor, though many politicians seem to.

The statemet posed Obama was about the same group the Bill Clinton had pardon. He was still in the white house. Now excuse for being so non politics, but there's no way that Obama having dinner with the man, dang show was not the same as your president in the white house given memebers pardons. How in the heck did that help Hilary?

Romney has 11 states and 4 million votes in the primaries and caucuses of which just these 11 states would turn into 12+ million votes in the election. Romney would also greatly help McCain if he intends to take California. Most of the other named VP hopefuls will not, including Pawlenty. Romney has also won the Mid-West which is important to McCain if he is to win. Romney won Minnesota, Colorado, Michigan and would have won Wisconsin if he had not have withdrawn from the race. If McCain chooses Pawlenty or PawTy, McCain will loose Minnesota and the Mid-West. McCain needs someone who is well-vetted and already on the national stage like Romney with no real skeletons coming out in the last minutes of the election. Also, McCain needs a VP that will pull the party together and be able to raise funds and who can energize the party. Romney can help with economy issues which seems to be the most important part of this election and will likely become more important as the year extends into November. Pawlenty's billion dollar deficit will hurt McMain. Romney and Huckabee has energized much of the Republican base. It was Romney that drove a record Republican turnout in Minnesota. Minnesota's Governor looked a "little tired" to the Republican base. Romney can give McCain youth. I've read numerous blogs that Republicans will likely not vote if McCain doesn't choose Romney. The only thing that is in the least bit uniting the Republican to McCain at the moment is the hope that McCain will wake up and select a strong VP mate instead of following his buddy system.

Well, McCain and Huckabee were both too statist for me -- since I haven't totally given up on the idea of America yet. McCain in the overt power-crazed way and Huckabee in the back-door Aww- shucks power-crazed way.
Romney was more acceptable before he started seeking approval from the fundies. The best by far was Ron Paul.
I'll be voting for the Libertarian.

out of all the republicans, mitt has been the most pathetic of them all. i mean call the democrats elitist if you want. romney is the most outrageously elitist of them all. son of a governor. spent summers in france. couldnt win in the primaries so he used 38 MILLION dollars of his own money to finance his campaign, $20 million of which went into negative advertising and "research" into candidates.

Actually, I wish Mitt would have stayed in the race longer. He might have overtaken McCain eventually.
Or at the very least, we'd have something else to watch other than the Punch n Judy show over at the Dem's party.

HAHA... not? if he were only capable of writing his own jokes. the man is smart, but has no true wit.

maybe this is Couric's fault, because most people will NOT be watching your "MODERATORS" on nightly "NEWS".
thank you al gore for creating the internet, only God knows where we could have been getting REAL NEWS instead of ABC (All 'Bout Clinton) "NEWS".
SERIOUSLY Jake i want to you to PLEASE find out why a FORMER CLINTON EMPLOYEE (George) was allowed to be a "MODERATOR" on the debate. DOES THAT MAKE ANY SENSE? was BILL CLINTON UNAVAILABLE?

Gotta give him props for humor. Nice Job. Can we add a few?
#11 Ran out of flip-flops, Hillary hid them all in her closet along with all the skeletons.
#12 Decided waiting to die and become God was a better deal.
Add your own!!!
