NRA Lobbyist: Despite New Rhetoric, Clinton's "Name is Synonymous With Gun Control, Like Rosie O'Donnell"
April 13, 2008 9:23 AM
Given the new "Second Amendment" rhetoric of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, (see the New York Times' Julie Bosman's "Clinton Portrays Herself as a Pro-Gun Churchgoer" ) I thought it might behoove hunters to hear what the NRA thinks about all Clinton trying to "out-gun" Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois.
"I'm not surprised by this," says Chris Cox, the chief lobbyist of the NRA. "They know that its bad politics to be on the wrong side of the gun issue. The political graveyard is full of gun control supporters and they are trying to avoid the same fate."
Will Clinton be able to sell this new self to gun rights enthusiasts and hunters?
"Her name is synonymous with gun control, like Rosie O'Donnell," says Cox, so she will have "a very, very tough time."

Apparently, per Gallup poll his comments have not affected Mr. Obama's standing. Of course, many liberal pundits have turned his attempt to trying to tell different things to different people as utter honesty. Certainly, there is something amiss here.
As with the Rev. Wright controversy, Mr. Obama has deflected attention once again from his insincere and "chameleonic" nature.
In the church controversy, the focus should have been on him and not Rev. Wright. And in this case, the focus should be on the consistencies between his remark and his stand on "separarist" religion, anti-NATFA, and his embrace of second Amendment.
As long as the Wallaces, Coopers, Kings, Russets and Simons dominate the people will not be informed of truth.
And, how can we justify going to Fox to get the truth.
So 'hoodwinked' we will be thanks to award-winning journalists.
It is choice of being 'hoodwinked' or being labeled a 'racist'.

I just saw an interesting speaker on C-SPAN-----it was a woman who has done research on what the Media and reporters have said about "Women running for President" from 1874 Shirley Chisholm) to today......they have consistantly denied that women can become leaders because "Women are emotional" and because "Women can't deal with crises". This attitude that prevails in the Media, still today, even---contributes to the MYTHS that women cannot be strong leaders.
It was an Excellent show !! And HOW TRUE !!
In fact, there have been women in History that have been very powerful leaders and have handled many crises very effectively.....they are just "swept under the rug" by people who are threatened by a woman as a leader (and I am also referring to women, as well as men, so I am not "male-bashing" like some of you want to accuse me of).

ANYONE who thinks Barack Obama can CHANGE washington is a BIGGER IDIOT than I can even imagine.
Is this honestly why obama lovers STILL want him to win after the Wright Scandal and now this ridiculous bitter gun totin bible thumping stereotype?
You STILL want him to be president? How?
You have to be in such THICK denial to STILL want this clown to represent all americans.
He clearly DOESNT REPRESENT ALL AMERICANS. He has now said so himself.
He represents LIBERALS.

Obama, you mean? Certainly the press is conspicuously absent on that one. Should Obama -- heaven forfend! -- become the Democratic nominee, the Republicans won't be.

With the Clintons, it always comes back to China. The Chinese government funneled money into Clinton’s re-election campaign in 1996 in a major fund-raising scandal. Clinton managed to survive it, but questions about China’s connections to the Norman Hsu and other fund-raising scandals for Hillary’s bid still remain.

Is including the NRA guy's reference to Rosie O'Donnell (an Obama supporter, it seems -- and who'dda thunk she's be anti-gun?! Maybe she isn't: maybe the NRA guy made it up?) somewhat anti-woman?
I sure don't think Rosie O'Donnell (who's probably best-known for 1. presenting her butt after sort of singing the national anthem, and 2. suggesting publicly what many privately believe, that 9-11 was an inside job) is the first person most people think of when thinking of "gun control".
Most comments here seem NOT to have to do with guns. The Democratic "leadership" is anti-gun, God knows why.
Maybe the idea that the citizenry can dissolve this imperfect union with wrist-rockets appeals to them more than the Second Amendment -- which, like it or not, was meant to guarantee the American people the means to overthrow an illegitimate government. Which seems kind of quaint, maybe, under present technological circumstances.

I have to say I will be happy when this is all done and you all spouting your bologne about Obama and blind support of this woman that MOST of America doesn't like (now even more clearly after this campaign, because of people like me who use to blindly hang on to her as our only hope...foooled as I was... I am glad we were lucky enough to wake up) ...
You all have done so much blind damage with not opening your eyes and listening to anyone besides "your queen" ...I bet more than 3/4 of Obama's supporters have been to Hillary's site and rallies and read her standings (the ones she has) and I bet a tiny percentage of the Hillary supporters have actually gone and done the same (and only you all personally know if you have gone to a site or rally)... You see the predominance of Obama supporters are people who took the time to get to know a second candidate...openly and truthfully in many cases through their own protectiveness of the Clintons.
I am so glad that the reigns of the Clintons and Bushes are almost over. I bet there will be a good chance she doesn't even regain her seat in the Senate after people have finally realize how she risked this all for her own career and "right" to the nomination and all we got out of it was the damage she's done to the party from putting her own career and leadership above the policies that the party stands for (and yes Florida and Michigan not being counted has more to do with the people running her campaign and supporters ...go look up the hearings the DNC had about the rules of the delegate selection process...thank you Rendell, Ferraro and McAuliffe...oh and Clinton who agreed not to count there votes)...
To all of you with your angry vitriol toward anyone who woke up from the 15 year sleep... I say soon...
Ding Dong duh doo doo doo... duh doo doo doo.

I didn't say that Hillary and McCain are Saints.......I WILL say, however, that Hillary has the Plans and the SOLUTIONS to get America BACK ON TRACK-----and she is articulate, clear, has much knowledge of the issues facing America, and is the best person to lead this country out of the Depression we are sliding in to now.......

Obama must be stopped, I guess he can't count your vote...

"wrong Clinton"?
Bill and Hillary enjoy shared bank accounts and both (plus Chelsea) are running the Clinton Foundation. Here's more on China:
Foreign contributions to American-based charities are allowed under U.S. law, but political and philanthropy ethics advocates worry that Bill Clinton's reliance on international businesses and foreign governments to finance his worldwide charity campaigns raise issues of potential conflicts of interest if he were to take an active role in his wife's administration.
"This is a perfect example of why it's critical for both Clintons to provide prompt and complete disclosure of all their sources of income, not just personal sources but also his foundation," said Sheila Krumholz, executive director for the nonpartisan Center for Responsive Politics, a government reform advocacy group.
The Clinton foundation and the former president's library in Little Rock have received millions of dollars in donations from the Saudi royal family and the Middle East sheikdoms of the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait and Qatar, along with the governments of Taiwan and Brunei.
Fueled by such cash, the foundation has grown into a worldwide philanthropic dynamo, using its financial clout and influence with business leaders to streamline solutions for logistical logjams that have long plagued charity operations. The foundation has pressed to lower the price of expensive AIDS medications and set up long-term projects across the Third World.
But like many charities, the Clinton foundation maintains a strict policy of keeping its donations confidential to protect the privacy of donors. Still, partial lists have emerged in the foundation's tax filings and in press accounts, leading to growing scrutiny of the activities of some contributors.
Some human rights activists suggest that the Clinton foundation's contribution from Alibaba undermines his wife's outspoken stance on China's internal crackdown.
"A former president of the United States received a donation from a Chinese firm that is involved in censorship, and now his wife is running for president. This is a shame of the U.S.," said Harry Wu, an exiled Chinese activist based in Washington.
