Regrets, Bill Has a Few (Not Really)
April 11, 2008 1:16 PM
Does former President Bill Clinton regret his error-strewn defense of his wife's Bosnia sniper-fire story? Does he regret mis-informing voters in Boonville and Jasper, Indiana?
"I regret that people like you care more about that when whether she served the troops," he told reporters today in Terra Haute, per ABC News' Sarah Amos.
The former president said that he wouldn't be attempting any long to defend his wife on her story.
"Hillary called me and said, 'Look, I misstated it, you said I misstated it, but you don't know any – you gotta let me handle this because you don't remember it either,'" he said. "So I'm gonna let her handle this."
"I think the fact that Hillary made a factual error in her account and acknowledged it shouldn't obscure the fact that she did go into an area not free of danger and was there advocating for the troops," he said. "Always has, and she got a record that is unequal in doing that. I think that's the important thing."

What is Obama's position on illegal immigration -- social security benefits, free health care, path to citizenship, etc?

Democrats United,
I don't agree with that both Dems candidates are 95% alike...they are total different on gender, race, experience, strength, etc..
This Dems race is totally different than before, it has involved a lot of fundamental issues of America, like, race as gender and personality.. MSM more focuses on those than the real topics people used to be interested...
It is too personal for many supports from both sides..
So how can Dems be united is still very questionable...

True Truth ----------------------------- i understand where you are coming from. The problem with your question is that half the party agree with your choice and the other half disagrees with your view on who the best choice is. The point is that both of these candidates are 95 percent more alike than they are different. That is very important to note. Also important is that whoever loses will be out there campaigning hard for the winner in a huge effort to unite the party.
I remember how strong the Howard Dean supporters were in early 2004 in the democratic primaries. There were strong words exchanged, but in the end we all got behind John Kerry. In 2000, Bush and McCain had a VERY HEATED battle for the GOP nomination. It was very bitter in the end when Bush won the nomination but they united the Party and won the election.

Before, I was going to vote for Obama if Hillary does not make it as Dem. Candidate. However, over the past few months i find my self being turned off by the DNC. The way the DNC has disregarded Hillary's candidacy, with party elders basically telling Hillary to get lost, and MSM consistenly putting her down - I just got turned off and actually rebelled against the notion of always voting for a democrat. The debates showed me that Obama has nothing new or innovative idea to offer. We can all talk about unity and hope until we are blue in the face but without real solutions and plan to get us out of this mess, I'm afraid all the hope and unity we so desperately want to have will be unattainable. Hope and unity we want, but peace and economic stability is what we NEED now...

Democrats United,
You offend no one. However, when you asked people to support whoever the Dems nominee is, that will be a very personal matter...
if you ask Dems should be loyal to his party, then Dems really needs to select a candidate who they believe win over G.E to reward their loyalty...
So are we making the best choice here?

True Truth------------------------- Thanks for the wish for luck. Whomever is the nominee is going to need it. I intend to do everything I can and spread the word and debate as long as I can on behalf of whoever is my party's (democratic) nominee. The GOP and the conservative agenda must be stopped!!!

True Truth----------------------- What personal question have I asked? If I have offended you in some way, then I apologize. A person's vote is a very personal right of all Americans. I just assumed that a Hillary Clinton supporter would have some democratic principles and beliefs. I apologize if I assumed incorrectly. It seems to me though that since you are making your preferences known on this blog that it wouldn't be THAT personal to you, but again, I could be wrong.

If hillary does not win the nomination
get ready for the lowest ge voter turn our ever. no one wants to hear obama and mccain debate
this time around-the smart girl may lose
to the underqualified boys.

So McCain isn't going to apologize for his anti-civil rights votes?

Democrats United,
Correction: no one said the Dems'rule is designed for obama..
Dems' rule is different from Reps and G.E., whether it can select the best and strongest candidate for its party, again, Good luck!

Julia--------------------- You are correct. She should be commended for that. But, at that time Chelsea Clinton would have been 16 years old. If I were President, there is no way in HELL I'm sending my 16 year old daughter into an active COMBAT ZONE!!!!!!!! If the place really was as dangerous as Bill is suggesting, why, oh why Would he have allowed his daughter to go? More importantly, if it were THAT dangerous, would the Secret Service have allowed that Plane to land???

Democrats United,
You have asked a very personal question and the vote is a very personal matter...
Who people vote for will be based on their own best judgment...
I can only say: good luck Dems..

I can smell the interference which will occur in case, and just only incase Hillary is elected as Pres. With this only few examples, I can guess it will be a huge problem for Bill just trying to tell her how to lead and Hillary refusing to listen to him. They will end up in a total confusion and not agreeing to each other!

with the msm, obama surrogates and supporters smearing Hillary,
denying the good work she has done for this country.
Hillary's supporters have no other recourse except to defend her.
no one else will.
It is a fact hillary can run rings around obama on the issue that face us
even the msm almost admit that
and they still continue to smear hillary and support obama.
Hillary is the better for the country right now.

True truth:-------------------- You make it seem like the Dem rules were designed to benefit Obama. Do some research. These are the same rules that have been in place for well over 2 decades. These same rules are what got Governor Bill Clinton nominated and elected President. Obama is only playing by the rules that was laid out at the beginning of the contest. Senator Clinton, who was much more experienced than Obama and by the end of 2007 had outraised Obama by a significant amount, was well aware of the rules. These rules were NOT designed specifically for Obama. He had a better team with a better strategy and he should be commended for that. I just wish she would just concede and be his VP. Together they could fend off whatever the GOP throws at them.

I agree with Bill. Somehow everyone forgot that she did go into war Zone, it was risk involved and carried on a piece mission there. Why is it not counting for anything?
I think it is a trend in media to dismiss anything good Hillary does.
I think she is just not "MAN" enough for most of the people. If she would be a guy, she would be treated differently.

True Truth:---------You sir (or maam) are also entitled to your opinion. I respect anyone who supports Senator Clinton. She is an admirable woman. I will support in the general elction should she win the nomination because I would vote for Donald Duck before I vote for any GOPer. The same should be done if Obama is the nominee. We are on the same team here. These smear attacks will do nothing but create more sour grapes in the general and we will both lose. I think that Obama and Clinton supporters should make a pact not to smear one another no matter what the media prints and focus our attention on McCain. Like Dean said. McCain is making one gaffe after another and is getting away with it because we are all so focused on the Dem's battle!!!

the country is in bad shape right now,
we need some one with a little more experience than obama this time around.

Democrats United,
There is no doubt Obama is running a good Champaign. He is leading because of the stupid Dems primary system and rule..
If the race were the same as Rep or G.E., Obama wouldn't in the race any more.....
Posted by: True Truth | Apr 11, 2008 3:11:59 PM
Democrats United,
Your choice is well respected like anyone else..
However, I believe a lot of people will have a different view regarding his senator from his home town - Chicago... If you think he is able to improve the image of US, then he should improve the image from his home town first - the biggest political scandal in IL history...
