Wayne LaPierre Interprets Obama's Remarks

April 14, 2008 1:13 PM

Wayne LaPierre, the executive vice president of the NRA, has some thoughts on Sen. Barack Obama's "small town" comments that he's sharing exclusively with ABC News.

"American gun owners have for years understood the elitist concept of special privileges for the few," LaPierre says. "The same few who look down their nose at the people who respect basic American traditions like flying the flag, going to church, owning a gun, and believing in the Bill of Rights. Obama’s statement is a crack in the door that gives all of us a peek as to how the 'special' people look at the rest of us. Americans can read that code."

Do you agree?

jozy / Tia - Read Obama's book, he says what was said and not said - His grandmother was complaining about an aggressive pan handler that was in her face that happened to be black, she was not scared of a blackman just walking down the street.

Keep finding excuses for Obama, but I thought he was a great speaker.

My question is why is the MSM giving Obama a Free pass? Is it because they have a feeling going up their legs!

Obama has no substance what so ever!

S: Definitely you are training with the Obama camp. If you are part of the 25th percent who agree with him, then good for you. Again: Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters nationwide disagree sith Barack Obama’s statement that people in small towns “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations." A Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey found that just 25% agree with the Democratic frontrunner while 19% are not sure.

I'm just curious, why have there been 400% more Political Punch stories on Obama's "bitterness" than there were on Clinton's Bosnia misspeak?

Which is better, a politician that is truthful or a politician that lies?

Definatly Common Sense

Here's what I said. Which part don't you understand?

Perhaps

You're clearly in the minority. Polling is showing that almot sixty percent of Americans disagree with Obama's contention that rural folk can't think for themselves.

S. Please go to the Rasmussen reports and try again. I keep posting the link but somebody keeps erasing it. So you might need to go a do the homework yourself. It is easy, you will see the results in the front page. In summary: "Fifty-six percent (56%) of voters nationwide disagree with Barack Obama’s statement that people in small towns “cling to guns or religion or antipathy to people who aren't like them or anti-immigrant sentiment or anti-trade sentiment as a way to explain their frustrations."

Hey Tia,

Did you and Mr Dennis Ghing live at home with Barrack and his Grandmother? If you didn't how do you know what she said to him in the privacy of her own home?

Keep on phishing people - keep America divided

Note these points:

(a) It is possible that one, coming from poor or average, becomes an elitist when he forgets what's like being poor;

(b) It is possible that one, coming from poor or average, always remembers where he/she comes from even if he/she becomes rich.

It is obvious to us that Obama has fogotten where he comes from and what he says he represents, but Hillary gets it even she has more money now.

*sigh*

It is truly AMAZING how hard people can work to keep Americans divided.

United we stand, divided we fall.

Pretty simple concept, but hard for many to understand it seems.

Obama said about his white grandmother: ... " a woman who once confessed her fear of black men who passed her by on the street, and who on more than one occasion has uttered racial or ethnic stereotypes that made me cringe."

BUT Dennis Ching, who was a 23-year-old management trainee under Dunham beginning in 1966. "I never heard her say anything like that. I never heard her say anything negative about anything. And she never swore."

Barack Obama is an egalitarian Liberal Fascist elitist.

I do not think that Sentaor Obama is an elitist: I think there is some merit to his statement. We all know that when there is a crisis in any life, the affected person turns to something that will or is expected to provide some means of stability--something that will not fail--an absence of stance.

On a lower scale, some turn to food; some go into depression; others pray. In the case where there are marital problems, the wife might turn to her mother for comfort, and so on and so on--if you get my drift.

We all have those temporary statuses where we will enter into the victim zone, and cannot find our way until we call out for help.

At least, this is what I have deduced from the statement made by Senator Obama.

And, because he has relayed his message on a level, which all of a sudden no one seems to understand, we turn on him and say "how dare he remind us of our temporary emotional infirmities."

I find it somewhat ironic that Barack would criticize rural America for their anti-trade sentiment when he claims to be NAFTA's strongest opponent.
I find it troubling that Barack would criticize rural America for clinging to their religion during troubled times while he clings to his pastor "What I value most about Pastor Wright is not his day-to-day political advice," Obama said. "He's much more of a sounding board for me to make sure that I am speaking as truthfully about what I believe as possible and that I'm not losing myself in some of the hype and hoopla and stress that's involved in national politics."
I find it sad that Barack would criticize rural America for clinging to their legal guns used for hunting and family protection while he is assuring them that he is pro-gun and will keep the weapons in their hands.
I find it unbelievale that Barack would claim that rural America is "anti-immigrant" when he knows full well that they're actually anti-Illegal immigrant and want secure borders just like Barack does.
I find it a total lie that Obama is saying that Bush and Clinton had the same economic policies and that America fared poorly under Clinton.
Obama: What you forgot to tell is what you think of rural American is what makes them "bitter".

On one and the day Senator Obama been called "boy" (by Rep. Geoff Davis) and Bin Laden was called "Obama"...

America, America...

this is the same organization that was for a armor piercing bullet which only had one function to piece bullet proof vests they argued that it was a 2nd amendment issue--he is a right wing republican of course he is going to put down obama--this is the exact point of obamas comments that the nra and other groups play on people's fear's that the democrats are going to take away their guns--they vote democrat and wonder why george bush has an approval rating of 30% or less and we are is a recession and are spending 3 billion dollars a day in a war that we are policing a civil war between sunni and shiete and fight under the iraqi governments flag--nice

Message to Dashle (go back to school, please) and Obama supporters: Definition of "elitist": "One who despises people or things regarded as inferior, especially because of social or intellectual pretension: snob. Informal snoot. See attitude/good attitude/bad attitude/neutral attitude, self-love/modesty." http://www.answers.com/topic/elitist
Synomyn of "elitist": Barack Obama

THE DEMOCRATS NEED FLORIDA

On today's Rasmussen web page, we learn that "If McCain is matched against Hillary Clinton, the race is a toss-up—Clinton 45% McCain 44%. "

On the other hand, a "telephone survey in Florida shows McCain attracting 53% of the vote while Obama earns 38%"

Posted by: S | Apr 14, 2008 3:36:10 PM

Obama arrogantly pronounced months ago that Hillary would have a hard time winning the Presidency because half the country is against her.
Well, Obama is doing a really good job of outdoing her in that regard.
He's painted himself as the stereotypical elitist Democrat who looks down his nose at hard working Americans and this is a label he will never be able to sweet talk his way out of.
He just attacked McCain as being out of touch with Americans, and McCain's campaign immediately fired back with this:
“It’s hard to keep a straight face when you’re accused of being out of touch by a guy who thinks the whole country is worried about the high price of arugula or that you hunt ducks with a six shooter.”

Obama said he will not afraid to meet with enemies of United States.

Ya... right! Ican just mix-up my words when I comeback to US

My people still forgive me.
