A Saturday Night Live Skit Clinton Won't Be Referencing Anytime Soon
May 11, 2008 10:58 AM
During a recent Ohio debate, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., cited an SNL skit mocking media adulation of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., to make the argument that there had been a media double-standard.
Watch HERE.
The problem with citing a comedy show as an authority is that it can come back to haunt you.
Watch Amy Poehler's "Hillary Clinton" talk to the superdelegates HERE.

UPDATE: Forgetting politics for a moment, THIS SKIT is just brilliant.

Vanessa, if McCain wins then maybe it is you who will have to look in the mirror and blame yourself for Iraq because of the racist, inexperienced, ultra-left liberal candidate you supported...............
HoosierSue, You are so wrong. I will blame Hillary supporters for losing to McCain. Spin this all you want but Obama supporters will support Hillary. So it is you that are dividing the party and voting for McCain. Say hello to the draft. Oh, but you don't care, I forgot. You need to look into the mirror.

Ouch! That video is brutal, but Clinton is reaping what she has sown.

Countallthevotes,
I'm Hillary supporter.
I support her not because I'm a woman but I think she is the one fits me.
I trust her.
I just can not trust Obama not because he is black .
I don't care about color, race, gender as long I think this is the right person to run the country.
It's just too bad if DNC decided not to choose her.
I think they will make a big mistake to do it.

countallthevotes: I know what you mean about the DNC. I tried to contact them several times, and they couldn't care less about what we think. Maybe come this November, they will learn a little humility when their messiah is defeated by votes among his own party.

Vanessa, if McCain wins then maybe it is you who will have to look in the mirror and blame yourself for Iraq because of the racist, inexperienced, ultra-left liberal candidate you supported.
But don't beat yourself up too hard. According to his foreign policy advisor Susan Rice, Obama intends to keep 80,000 troops in Iraq. You see, if you'd been paying attention you would know that Obama talks out of both sides of his mouth, saying one thing to one group and the direct opposite to another. That's one thing he does seem to be experienced at.

Jim: I'm a lifelong Democrat, but I'm not a zombie. I actually have the mental capacity to weigh all of the issues, and make an informed opinion as to who I will be voting for. It just so happens that in all prior elections, I have voted for the Democratic candidate. If Obama is the Democratic candidate in November, then I will make an exception.
One more thing. You personify the Obama supporter who, when lost for making an argument, falls back on unrelated arguments, such as "You're a Republican." Others use the currently very popular "You're a racist" remark. Neither of them addresses the issues at hand.

Countallthevotes,
Great post 5:38:02pm.
That's why he ignores WV and KY.
He though he can fool them not to vote anymore. what a shame!
We need to tell people is not over yet.

Jim: You're trying to use one issue -- abortion -- to convince us to vote for the the most inexperienced, deceptive, ruthless, divisive and racist candidate in modern history. Get it through you head; millions of us Democrats WILL NOT BE VOTING FOR OBAMA, PERIOD.
Posted by: Sally | May 11, 2008 5:56:41 PM
count all the votes:
How can we make sure that West Virginia
and Kentucky are aware that Hillary's
candidacy is still alive and kicking...
and looking forward to their votes?
The media certainly cannot be counted on for anything!

Yeah Jim REALLY. I am not worried in the least, I am voting for Hillary in the FALL. Even if I have to write her name across the ballot. Hillary is deep in the DNC so as usual she has to be political. I am not. I am however against injustice! In order to fight injustice one needs to take a risk. No sweet, rational sounding voice is ever going to change my mind. This whole thing is a total rip off and I will not be part of it! I owe nothing to the party I have worked endlessly for. Hillary is my choice.

js,
I know there is much hysteria surrounding abortion and the right to choose. Perhaps you watched Justice Scalia about a week ago being interviewed on TV. He was charming and thoughtful but plainly sees no right to choose within the literal interpretation of the constitution. However, the point he made was enormously important. If the SC overturns Roe v. Wade, and note they have had infiinte opportunities to do just that and have not, that does not mean abortions are prohibited by federal law. It means that it would then be up to the individual state to determine whether or not there was such a right and set the parameters for exercising or limiting that right. How many people really believe that there state could successfully prohibit a woman's right to choose? This is not the '60's.
McCain cannot prohibit abortions. It is not the president's domain at all. He could appoint a supreme court justice who might appear to take a literal approach to interpretation, like Scalia, Roberts, and Alito, but that is as far as he can go. The right to choose has been determined by SC's interpretation of the US constitution. Stacking the court would be the most a president could do. He/she only gets to do that when a SC justice retires or dies. We have a lot of justices that will be with us for years to come.

JS
The next president will appoint at least 2 supreme court judges
1- Mccain last week said "strict constitutionalist" judges will be his appointments
+
1- yesterday said NO 100% no exceptions even for rape, incest, or life of the mother
=
1+1=2
mcCain just united the party and delivered a landslide to dems 08
73% of americans want abortion safe and legal for at least rape, incest, and life of the mother
Thanks mccain for shooting your campaign in the foot and uniting dems

Er - Jesus if he truely came from the region that is now the middle east - he was black. As were all of our earliest begottens. Go figure - we were mostly the same color at one time....

Jim I wouldn't count on that logic in regards to the abortion issue. The women's vote has jumped ship to the Republicans before regardless of the abortion issue. You also forget that many of Clinton's women voters are older and while they would obviously support reproductive rights it won't be their primary issue.

irma
Really?
Even though Hillary herself has said Obama would be a great leader and that she herself will support and campaign for him 100% 08
Also since your daughters, sisters, and friends will be forced to use coat hangers for self induced abortions that will kill the majority. mcCain stated yesterday 100% NO!!!!!!!!!!!! exceptions even for rape, incest , or life of the mother.
The dem platform has always been 100% pro choice. Yet you will allow mccain to take it completly away?
Fake dem. Repub faking trollish concern to turn dem against dem.
Stop
Mccain just united the dem party and delivered a landslide to Obama 08. 73% of all americans want at least abortion safe and legal for rape, incest, and life of the mother.
peace

I didn't think that video was satire.
I did not think it was humorous.
I thought it was slanderizing Hillary.
The only point I could see as valid was that her followers will NEVER vote for B O ....
Posted by: questioner | May 11, 2008 5:28:48 PM
I wouldn't jump on that weasles ship ever! He and his supporters have been very helpful in making me HATE everything Obama. Obama is a racist in denial. He tries to claim he isn't racist, yet the woman he married, the church he chose and the double standard campaign he runs proves otherwise. I am half black, I know black racists, they exist and Obama is one of them.
Posted by: irma | May 11, 2008 4:52:13 PM
This skit is right on target. It tells how Obama and his support was basically callous and ruthless. I felt it was a sly way to inject the truth under the guise of Hillary bashing with stuff we've heard before, which is obviously ridiculous as the skit shows. In any case, she states several times that Clinton supporters will not vote for him. All the name calling from the Obama camp against Clinton supporters is working just fine, for HILLARY. Not only will racists not vote for him, we DEMOCRATS (former Democrat for me, I am now an Independent) won't either.

just passing through buddy. i dont think im the last ship sailing out of this place. like i said, I dont think this is a place for objective minded democrats.
Posted by: starsailor | May 11, 2008 4:25:52 PM

I dont think this is a place for objective minded democrats (whatever your economic status). lets take our objective selves somewhere else where pretend democrats havent defiled the waters.
