As Go Guam and Mellencamp...

May 03, 2008 9:04 PM

ABC News reports that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., is the winner of the Guam Democratic caucuses today.

With 100 percent of the precincts reporting, Obama received 2,264 votes to Sen. Hillary Clinton's 2,257 votes.

Yes, you read that right. Obama beat Clinton by seven votes.

They will split the four delegates (or eight half-delegates) 50/50, but Obama will be able to say he won.

Curiously, in her concession announcement, Clinton made much mention of issues of importance to Guam residents -- paying them millions of dollars in reparations on behalf of Japanese soldiers during World War II, for instance -- but she said nothing about her promise to potentially amend the Constitution to give them the right to vote. Hmmph.

Here in Indianapolis, John Mellencamp is playing at a concert for Clinton tonight, having serenaded Obama a few days ago.

Mellencamp, like the Democratic party itself, is torn right down the middle.

Just as Supreme Court Juste Scalia said about the 2000 election.

Get over it.

Michigan and Floridaian's vote was screwed by the system for the Primary rules.

Just as the Surpeme Court Screwed the American People in 2000.

Get over it,,, it done.

American9

Is that story for real?

Posted by: Owen | May 4, 2008 12:39:28 AM

Is it total only 8 delegates?
He urged to Recount it.
What about MI and Fl?
What about it Obama?

Owen

To make a long story short.. My take is that Hillary is doing what old Bill has done in his term.

Forget the Rules of the game, Play by my rules because He and She is an Elitist and they make the rules as they go.

Just like the push for the Florida and Michagan turn around of the RULES.

Remember they use to call him "Slick Willy"

Melanie,

Good point.

Can anyone please explain this story about Peter Paul Vs Hillary Clinton? It's on the blogs now. It's about stuff on fraud and campaign finance against Hillary. Who is Peter Paul? Why is no one talking about this? Isn’t this a serious issue in a general election? This has been described as the campaign finance scandal of the new millennium and no one wants to discuss it. Does America not deserve better? I leave it to you guys to decide.

tomdavie, so are so paranoid. This election has been exciting because we have 2 viable canidates. The people voted in the primaries not the supers. But there isn't a clear winner so of course it's up to them. But to say it's an inside job is ludicrous.

Posted by: lisa | May 3, 2008 11:48:32 PM

According to what I am hearing, this whole nomination is an inside job.

The Clinton Base of the party vs Kennedy Kerry Pelosi and others on the left side who want control of the party.

The voters dont get to decide any of it. Super delegates will. Whoever came up with this proportinal distribution system are IDIOTS.

That splits the vote and give the super delegates the real say.

libby | after reading your link.

WoW this article may convince me she is guilty as charged.

It stated:

It's false, though, that the Clintons feigned no knowledge of Paul. True, they hardly came rushing forward to volunteer the various contacts they'd had with him. But they didn't pretend not to know him. Paul's video makes deceptive use of a clip from an ABC "20/20" segment in which reporter Brian Ross asks Clinton if she recalls Peter Paul, and she turns and walks away

Posted by: American9 | May 3, 2008 11:22:20 PM

It is a delegate Race.

It does not matter who got 50% + 1 of the vote. The delegates will be split evenly. O may get an extra Supa D out of it.

OK let me educate the rabid Obamatons who keep pushing the Paul vs Clinton idiocy.

Your Peter Paul is a four time convicted felon. Yeah Obamatons he is a felon!!

Anyway the same BS he is pushing in his court case has been debunked by FactCheck (an independent non-partisan website)

Tina from Florida

As I said you need to take it up with your state elected Officials that agreed to the rules.

They let you down.

Rules are Rules or we have no rules.

no church rules, no police rules, no civil rules, no criminal rules, no political rules.

Posted by: American9 | May 3, 2008 11:11:52 PM

I have to give it to John Mellencamp. He is a true Democrat. He supports both. A lot different than the psycho-rabid followers on the Obama and Hillary camps.

You all so called Democrats could learn from Mellencamp's example.

America9, I always vote even when I am told it will not count. My point, how can an Obama win ever be considered legitimate if all votes are not counted.

While I have concerns about Mr. Obama's candidacy, it is incorrect to assume "some sort of Black agenda". In fact, I believe Mr. Obama will not do much for African-Americans.
What we have to be concerned about is his hidden agenda for some controversial Muslim nations and Hamas. After all, he said in his book that he will side with Muslims when things get ugly. Just what he means by that, God only knows! This man has intermingled with anti-American radicals and conveniently switches story line depending upon his audience.
And we all should know that he is of mixed race. He was raised by white grandparents and after graduation from Harvard he wanted to identify himself with his natural father, who contributed little to his upbringing. He wanted to be "black". Then as his aspirations and desires for power-play rose of late, he wants to get in touch with his white roots. Thus, he demands whites to vote for him. Only racist whites will not vote for him, he indirectly says through his supporters.
When Rev. Wright said that Mr. Obama is a politician and will say what a politician would have to say to get votes, he was absolutely correct. After all, Rev. Wright should know Mr. Obama better after all the 20 years of interaction. How dare Rev. Wright hurt Mr. Obama (by saying the truth about him), the left demanded. So the pastor, who was a great man up until a couple of weeks ago, is now to be condemned. This would detract everybody from paying any attention to what Rev. Wright had said. Again, a clever strategy.

tww Opps there you go..

Most all of these contest in every state the Prediction has been awarded before it reaches 50%. The reason why is that the voters percentage stays about the same after that. How is it that up to 79% (noted that there was an hour or more before it changed) that Obama was leading by 7% and all of a sudden Hillary jumped ahead to tie.

I don't think SO.

Bill pulling out favors again.

Sue, give me a break. Don't give me this stuff about Obama and Wright. I'm talking about running a campaign, much like running this country. She failed miserably. She thought she would have this wrapped up by super tuesday. And that is why she ran out of money and also why she didn't concentrate on caucus states. She doesn't have foresight. Or else she was just to arrogant thinking this was hers for the taking.

Guam found 500 more uncounted ballots!!!! Still hope for Hillary

Losing by seven votes to Obama must be devastating to Clinton's ego.

What about the civil lawsuit, Paul v. Clintons for campaign finance fraud, theft, and breach of contract.
