Funny....the Hillary faction talks
about what a cipher Obama is.......and
the Obama faction talks about what a
an insider Hillary is......and real
voters laugh, listen, and vote for what
they've always voted for......a rational

I can only read three languages... and the word you have in the first line is illegible in all of them.
What does it mean?
And you are wrong when you say that the news is being fairly desseminated by the media. It is not.
Ask any Hillary supporter!

You obviously aren't listening. he volunteered before and after he went to law school.
and yes...that is a pretty big leap of faith to think that volunteering for factory workers out of work was a strong plan rather than take a job in Washington or with a politician or a lobbying firm ...that this was the way to get elected.
Well if it was that is pretty cool if his tactics for getting elected were to spend years volunteering for the people he wanted to represent.
Most of the world thinks Americans made a mistake...yes. They think Bush is a bad man but Americans may not be. But they also know and see that Americans back ed Bush...and most Americans backed Bush going to war...with a lot of angry anti-world/UN sentiment out of the fear that the Bush administration used but we still put us over everyone else in their minds...
Now we have a chance to say we know we made a mistake... and unfortunately we have one candidate that they see as breaking from the road that got us to that point. One candidate that was talking about ideas that seemed so American...the American ideals that made us such an attractive country to look up to.
The world is waiting to see if we make that choice. If we become that "beacon" again.
and once again it will beocme cool to buy American again...to hold up the American flag even if you are not from here...
If you read the world papers...it is not that way now.
and I do not think I have superioir knowledge but I do know what it is like to look up so much to the Clintons no matter what they did... and then suddenly go to all of these candidates rallies and see there is another candidate who is making more sense.
and how hard it is after years of arguing with republicans on behalf of the clintons to suddenly realize they aren't the bar...they were just the only bar I had for a very long time.

I would say 50% of the stories are about Hillary.
as they have been most of the time...
god knows if it's not Hillary than it's barack...if it's not Hillary or barack it's Bill and Chelsea...or rev wright.

dl,
I see you have calmed down. The caps were there so that you could differentiate your statements from mine, I overestimated your intelligence and thought you would understand this - duh.
Obama is a smart man, he wanted a political life. Why do you think he would graduate from Columbia, take a regular job and then "all of a sudden" decide to come to Chicago and be a community organizer. You are living in a fairy tale if you believe that he took a job that paid $18,000/year out of the goodness of is heart. Chicago is a place that Obama correctly recognized as a okace for his political ambition. Once he was here, he saw that all he would have to get a law degree to further his plan, and off he went. Again, you have not commented on his chicago connections. EMIL JONES - he is the President of the Senate of the State of Illinois, and Obama's political god-father. He is the one that was behind the attempt to fix the Indiana primary - do some research.
Obama was not running for US Senator when he made the anti-war statements, he was running for state senator, from one of the most liberal districts in the State of Illinois, there was really no bravery involved. The US was still reeling from the events of 9/11 at this time.
I have been out of the US plenty of times, actually have family that live outside of the US. People do not look down on the people of the US, they do disaprove of President Bush, as do the majority of the US residents.I deal with people from all walks of life, academics, working class, seniors and retired people. They are interested in substance.
You need to start thinking, and stop trying to impress people with what you believe is your superior knowledge. It is obvious to those of who are aware of the world situation that you need to learn to listen and research. Listen to people who have different ideas, and do not accept everything that is spoonfed to you as fact.
This is my last post to you.

GE
I disagree
in the heat of this primary...a lot of people said they will vote for McCain out of anger...
and they will vote for Obama.
It would be hard to look at your kids 20 years from now knoiwing you voted for the guy who chose perhaps three more conservative supreme court justices, to continue running up their bill for this war...meanwhile weakening our military, borrowing more from China, not getting our standing back with our allies, and in the world, voting for aggression that has shown to be increasing the numbers of terrorists...
and the list goes on...
Remember how everyone was feeling before the dems started fighting with each other.
if this ends soon enough we will be back to that.
Not to mention the repub to dem defections that have been happening en masse... in the primaries alone.

"now that McCain doesn't have the cover of Clinton... he is going to just keep sinking."
______________
There's a media blackout on anything Hillary.... so please let me know if she's exited the race.
Has she won West Virginia?
What about Kentucky?
With the huge percentages predicted?
What about Guam? Who won?
Never MInd; I'll find out myself!
"While Obama led for the vast majority of the night's tallying, Clinton needed a strong finish in the municipality of Dededo, Guam's most populous village. And she did - gaining 61% of the 822 votes counted by the Democratic Party of Guam.
Second, CNN reported, "[r]oughly 1,400 votes remain to be tallied in Dededo, about 27 percent of all votes cast in this party-run primary."
Third. Only 822 of about 1,400 votes were counted. What happened there? And why did it take 13 hours to count those votes?"And it took the pollworkers in Dededo a total of 13 hours to count them. When it was over, Clinton won the village by 196 votes; 8 shy. Obama took Guam 2,264 to 2,257."
Fourth, there weren't enough ballots due to high turnout ... even though only half the ballots were counted.
More than 8,100 were printed in response to reports of shortages at precinct sites. But when the final tally came in, only a little over 4,500 ballots were used
Sounds pretty fishy."
(quoted from "AHN May 3, 2008 3:25 p.m. EST )
I think it's kind of fishy too.
8 votes shy...... hmmmm
and they ran out of ballots.... hmmmm.
Maybe if Hillary threw her minister under a bus she could get some well deserved attention...
The Hillary-Blackout proves how, in the wrong hands, the power of the press can be a tool AGAINST democracy as well as for it.
GIVE 'EM HELL, HILLARY!!!

Don't trust the polls. People say they are going to vote Obama and they will vote McCain.
Posted by: GE | May 22, 2008 4:52:35 PM
I blog for the issues and because I really do love this country.
that happens to mean this time around I argue for Obama.
and Vick ...I'm sorry I misspoke I meant for Guam and Puerto Rico to have voting rights...unfortunately that sometimes comes across in my mind like they don't have full citizenry.
I wish they did... but like I say...a chicken in every pot in every state...especially when they are promising chickens that are so big they can't provide without ignoring others...
that is not good to do unless you are truly planning on fighting for something that big.
a constitutional change is enormous...and right now the battles have almost already already been picked for them...so p[romising other huge battles (different in each state) is bad.
Posted by: dl | May 22, 2008 4:51:56 PM
c
the numbers from the polls include defections already...and even with those he either beats or ties Mccain within the margin of error...
and everyone knows those defection numbers are going to decrease because real americans ...real adult americans vote on issues, their pocketbooks, their futures...the war, roe, healthcare, their children being shipped overseas or not having as good a future as their parents had...etc...
rather than out of spite... atleast most Americans
especially smart courageous, intelligent Hillary supporters who care about the issues more than just one woman... which most of them are.
A handful will be angry enough and spiteful enough and/or yes dumb enough (just like if it was obama in a situation like hers) to vote out of that.
especially in a year like this one.

you are still making angry statements that aren't based in facts no matter if you put them in caps or not.
I said that Obama gave up the high paying jobs to volunteer that is true...and you said he did it as a political move...
and I said...he volunteered before AND after his law school... there is no story change... just your idea that it was some political move doesn't hold water unless he was volunteering before school to dot that. Which sounds like a pretty weak argument ...even in caps.
People were still calling people unpatriotic if theywere not supporting this war... it's half the reason politicians like Hillary were afraid to challenge them.
...and yes Obama was running for office when he made the speech (and at the time it was not a popular position in the slightest) about the war.
and his moneys came predominantly...almost entirely from small donors especially in the beginning...that is documented...Hillary had the dem big guns...that is also documented.
and if you don't think America as a beacon has been dimmed ...you obviously have been living in a cave somewhere...or at the least have never talked to anyone from outside this country in the past 5 years.

You can't keep changing your story!
Obama volunteered in communities even before he went to harvard law ...duh.
OBAMA CAME TO CHICAGO IN A CALCULATED POLITICAL MOVE TO BECOME A COMMUNITY ORGANIZER - YOU WERE THE ONE THAT SAID HE WORKED IN THE COMMUNITY INSTEAD OF TAKING A HIGH PAYING JOB.
This war was not about 9/11...you would have to be a moron to still buy into that.
YOU WERE THE ONE THAT SAID HE WAS AGAINST THE WAR WHEN EVERYONE WAS THRASHING EACH OTHER AFTER 9/11 - YOU ARE THE MORON DL.
to say there is no record of Obama sopeaking against the war... what because you have not seen a recording
YOU ARE THE ONE THAT SAID OBAMA SO BRAVELY MADE THIS STATEMENT IN A WELL PUBLIZED SETTING - NOBODY CAN ACTUALLY FIND ANY RECORDING OF IT. I'M SURE IT HAPPENED, BUT AS I SAID IT WAS AT AN ANTI-WAR RALLY, HE SAID WHAT WAS EXPECTED OF HIM.
you are starting to sound like one of those Hail mary" people who are just going to throw out statements whether they are based in facts or not just because you are mad that your candidate didn't win.
YOU HAVE ALWAYS SOUNDED LIKE A OBAMANUT WHO BELIEVES AND SPREADS EVERYTHING THAT IS SPOONFED TO HIM --WHY HAVE YOU NOT RESPONDED TO THE TYPICAL CHICAGO POLITICIAN STATEMENT I MADE. LOOK UP EMIL JONES IN CHICAGO SO THAT YOU CAN SEE WHAT KIND OF POLITICIAN OBAMA IS
Obama has taken down the Clinton machine...who had the backing of every millionaire democrat old party stalwart Lincoln Bedroom renting power broker in Washington when this started.
OBAMA IS THE ONE THAT HAS THE MONEY-PEOPLE IN HIS BACK POCKET, HOW ELSE CAN HE PAY OFF THE SUPERDELEGATES???
the fact that you think the idea of "relighting the beacon that our country was"
and republicans ...political insiders...great americans and historians across the board agreed that Obama's speech was one of the great american speeches...even if a handful Hillary supporters want to belittle it ...because they are angry.
is the dumbest statement I have made speaks volumes to everyone who actually reads these things.
THAT YOU THINK THAT OUR COUNTRY'S BEACON NEEDS TO BE RELIGHTED IS ABSURD. THIS COUNTRY IS GREAT, IT HAS ALWAYS BEEN GREAT. YOU ARE RIGHT THOUGH, YOU HAVE MADE MANY DUMB STATEMENTS SINCE YOU'VE BEEN EMPLOYED AS A BLOGGER BY OBAMA. PERHAPS I WAS WRONG THAT THIS WAS YOUR DUMBEST ONE.

McCain missed 60% (Obama 40%)...the most in the senate...and it is common for the two fron runners to miss many votes in the senate...they have the presidency on their plate...

The SupaDels are gonna break for Clinton Hardcore at the Convention. The SupaDels are Party Insiders, Fat Cats and assorted Hacks. These people know the value of a leader who will say and do whatever it takes to get her way.
They also know that when rules become inconvenient (Like MI-FL rule) they must be changed. Everyone knows this.
They know better then anyone that the promise given was a necessity of the past: the word broken is a necessity of the present.
Rules apply to little people. They do not apply to people like Rove and his subpeona and they don't apply to Hillary.

dl,
You are so mis-informed!
for factory workers who needed help rather than taking the top jobs out of Harvard law
OBAMA MADE A CALCULATED POLITICAL MOVE TO BECOME A "COMMUNITY ORGANIZER" IN CHICAGO AFTER HE HAD INTERNED IN A BIG LAW FIRM - MICHELLE WAS HIS BOSS! HE NEVER WORKED WITH FACTORY WORKERS!!
by being forthright in his books
FORTHRIGHT ABOUT HIS SPIRITUAL MENTOR AND HIS RACIST VIEWS!
by speaking into a well publicized microphone in the midst of a time when politicians (amricans as a whole)were all trashing each other and taking people down for not being patriotic and supporting this war...he stood up and said (in the middle of an election) that this war was wrong and stupid. Soldiers would die, moneys would be lost and our standing in the world would get worse
IT WAS SO WELL PUBLIZED, THAT THERE IS NO RECORD OF IT ANYWHERE! DO YOU REALLY BELIEVE THAT AMERICANS WERE THRASHING EACH OTHER AFTE 9/11?? OBAMA MADE THIS STATEMENT IN THE MIDDLE OF AN ANTI-WAR RALLY, HE WAS NOT RUNNING FOR ANYTHING, IT WAS THE POLITICALLY CORRECT THING TO DO AT THE MOMENT. ONCE HE BECAME A US SENATOR, OBAMA VOTED FOR EVERY WAR FUNDING!
standing up to John McCain his first year in the senate
IS THIS WHAT OBAMA REFERS TO HIS PARTISAN WORK!
standing up and taking down "THE CLINTONS"
CLINTON SUPPORTED HIS SENATE RACE, HE HAS NOT TAKEN DOWN ANYBODY.
standing up and when he was challenged by the country for his pastor's words and giving what most say may be one of the greatest speeches and moments for unity in the history of this country.
ONLY THE OBAMA FANATICS THOUGHT THIS WAS ONE OF THE GREATEST SPEECHES, IT WAS A POLITICAL SPEECH, MADE TO MAKE HIM APPEAR THOUGHTFUL. HE THROUGH HIS GRANDMOTHER UNDER THE BUS, IN FACT, HE COMPARED HIS GRANDMOTHER TO REV. WRIGHT!!! SIX WEEKS LATER, HE THREW REV. WRIGHT UNDER THE BUS, BECAUSE HE HAD THE NERVE TO SAY THAT OBAMA WAS (GASP) A POLITICIAN, AND WOULD SAY WHAT A POLITICIAN HAD TO SAY TO WIN!!!
Yeah
He stands up all right. ...and yeah...he ain't another "gray mainstream politician"
HE IS THE MOST MAINSTREAM POLITICIAN THERE IS - A PRODUCT OF CHICAGO POLITICS - DO YOUR RESEARCH (REZKO)
He is going to be the guy who helps relight the beacon that was once America...after decades of it losing it's way.
THIS IS THE DUMBEST STATEMENT YOU'VE MADE - THE US NEEDS TO RELIGHT THE BEACON - THE US IS A GREAT COUNTRY!!
and that is why the world is going to be rockin the night of this election.
AND THAT IS WHY MCCAIN WILL BE ELECTED PRESIDENT IF HE IS THE DEMOCRATIC NOMINEE!!

mary....I think you need to switch this statement:
The big difference between the two candidates is Obama believes all legal voters should have a voice and their votes counted. Hillary believes only those voting for her should be counted.
Remember the caucuses? Those were real people and REAL votes...
Hillary didn't follow the rules in Fl and MI. In fact the Clintons have an odd way of stretching the truth and changing rules to suit them. It usually works. let hope not this time..
Posted by: truthtell | May 22, 2008 4:02:08 PM
Superdelegates and DNC should all be vitally aware that already McCain is in the lead against Obama. If you want McCain as president you are doing just the right thing by not immediately seating FL. and MI. and making everyone think Obama is the nominee. He is not. This country is evenly split but with MI and Fl Hillary is just abit ahead. You cannot consciously continue this, you are the one hurting the party! Can any of you stand with honor and do the right thing? Who ever is ahead at the end of ALL states voting should be the nominee and if you want the white house the runner up should be offered the VP.
It does not matter which one is where if you really want this party to win.

the terrorists are in afghanistan and Pakistan...
mccain and hillary and their supporters are saying this about Iran that it is as big of a threat as Russia during the cold war.
Iran supports terrorism...but not the ones who drove planes into the US.
duh.
You know they want to focus on Iran and make it a worse situation with this sabre rattling which we have seen over the past 7 years made things worse.
So lets see what is worse...the country with nuclear weapons pointed at every major city in the uS or the country that doesn't have nuclear weapons that may be financially subsidizing terrorists who are attacking an ally of ours and who are using our aggression to defend their stance on getting weaponry to anyone who will listen.
It's not a question of Puerto Rico and Guam getting to be citizens...I am all for it. But it will take a constituional change to do it. and a lot of focus. Hillary promises everything ...that is the problem. Whatever state she is in it is a chicken in every pot. The same as her healthcare program that can never pass (mopstly because it does not work but aside from that...it can't pass...period... even with a strong democratic congress it won't pass...another dirty little secret...and it has to focus on cost first)
Hillary panders. Hillary never apologizes. Hillary fights as long as it does not conflict with her interests.
Guam and Puerto Rico becoming states will take an enormous effort and do you really think that is something somebody should be promising right now in our history for their focus?
Michigan and Florida will be seated as they should be with half of their votes...and that is being generous. It is called a beauty contest because the numbers don't lie. In almost every state where the candidates went to the state and they got to meet them...the numbers swung significantly awat from Hillar and toward Barack. and she had as much national coverage as he did ads.
so start arguing something that is real.

And how many Super D's has Obama rolled out today??
Or yesterday for that matter??
Seems like his little snowball has stopped rolling to some extent.........

dl - Didn't you get the memo about being nice to Hillary supporters? You won't get your paycheck from Obama if you keep this up. Regarding the people of Guam and Puerto Rico. They are US citizens and are voting in the primaries, why shouldn't they have full voting rights? Oh, it must be because they won't vote for Obama! All the votes should be counted. Edwards and Obama took their names off the ballot in Michigan because they knew they would lose to Clinton. Obama was the only candidate that campaigned in Florida, with television ads. All the votes have to be counted, and the delegates need to be seated.

BO is a wuss! Just like on the playground when he was a kid he is still getting his butt kicked. Only now it is Michelle doing the kicking! Big mean old cow!

Laura
you should be aware that the comments on here are now the Clinton camp resorting to paying a lot of people to put up lies even if they get refuted.
It is hail mary time...and hail mary for them has a nuclear button attached. So throw everything...they didn't promise not to.
Posted by: dl | May 22, 2008 3:13:26 PM
nobody should be leading this country if they can publicly say they don't see the difference between a world power with a bunch of nuclear weapons aimed at us...and a third world country without nuclear weapons or the financial or political power to influence the world powers to let them get those weapons.
...unless they can argue to the world community they have to "protect themselves from nuclear obliteration threats from the US imperialists...see here the video of their presidential nominees threatening us...the same video that the terrorists are showing in training and recruitment"...
If you can't tell the difference between the two ...you are not someone who should be even close to being allowed near any decisions on a nuclear attack.

No BO is not "grey" because he does not stand up at all! He goes on about everything but never votes for anything. He does not want to be held accountable for making a stand in case it doesn't go his way. He is a disgrace!

Majorpain - let me know when BHO decides whether or not Iran is a threat to the USA.

Left-wing is not mainstream.
No Obama 08
Posted by: Mack | May 22, 2008 3:01:08 PM
...and just to clarify
where is this information that Obama missed more votes than McCain in the senate during this election...
that's bologne... but Clinton supporters try to throw everyone's eye of the road with Obama winning.
throw out a lie and hope no one calls you on it.
I guess your leader set that tone.
Look at how they are trying to get Michigan reinstated where obama and the others took their names off the ballot...
yeah she is downright disgusting. Everything that makes America look bad at this point.
Posted by: dl | May 22, 2008 2:47:52 PM
Just how is she going to pull off the promise of full voting rights to Guam?
Oh wait it's "old school" politics tell the people what you think they want to hear so they will give you what you want.
Time for a change to the old school ways of Hillary Clinton and John McCain
Obama 08

its almost memorial day where is the gas tax holiday bill she proposed!?!
is she writing that up??
MARY,
when you said Obama wants only the votes he won to count, did you mean Clinton?
she only wins popular vote (that doesnt matter, well depending waht month you are in with the clinton camp, supers, states, popular vote wahtever lets her win, sniper fire, no sniper fire, gas tax holiday)
if you give zero votes to obama in michigan
and zero votes from caucus states
Why is she a champion for these votes only now that she absolutely needs to have them?
Wow she seems like she would be a really good president

NJH - Because you don't win the game scoring 4 runs in the 9th of a game you are behind by 20 runs.
Simple.

If this contest is over, then why are people still chosing Clinton? She won 150,000 more votes than Obama did in the OR and KY contests this week and in the contests since the beginning of March, she has garnered more than 500,000 votes than Obama. Obama is still riding the gains he made in February, before he exacerbated class, race and gender rifts with his bitter/cling, typical white people and "sweetie" comments. Now that people see the disconnect between his rhetoric and reality (he does not transcend racial partisan divides, he exacerbates them), he is in for a very rough ride.

Geevil,
People know in IL he never press the button. He just proposes everything and never even finish it.
i'm afraid it will happen when he becomes president, because right now people voted for him because of his empty promises.
Posted by: catleya | May 22, 2008 2:15:06 PM
geevil, verrry interesting! Maybe someone should be sure he knows the President can't vote "present" or claim to have hit the wrong button. It's the toughest job in the world and it requires a person of resolute strength and deep convictions who is willing to stand up and stand strong. Come to think of it, a person like Clinton or McCain.

My 4-year old son is now a little aware of what's going on in politics. He says, "Hillary is good; Obama is bad" I never taught him that but he was just watching Fox News with me. It just came out of the blue....

Go Hillary!

Show the bravery .
Thanks.

Obama has the worst track record of all 3 candidates when it comes to getting back to the Senate to vote - he's missed more votes than either McCain or Hillary. Kind of makes you think he only wanted that Senate seat as a stepping stone to the presidency.

Gas is always more expensive in Chiago but right now Indianapolis is higher than most. Gas here is $3.99. I paid 4.19 for premium this morning. CRAAAZEE!

Just realized that Mondale is the "Where's the beef?" guy. How apropos! This just gets better and better.

The same questions were directed to Chelsea Clinton repeatedly in Puerto Rico. They want to vote for the President. Statehood is a very hot topic in PR with strong factions on both sides. Her reply was that her Mother was in favor of process to enable the Puerto Ricans to determine their own future.
Take a look at how many Puerto Ricans serve honorably and well in the US military and tell me they don't honor America. Take a look at the history of the 64th Brigade in the Korean Conflict and the name of Sgt. Rafael Alicearivera, then tell me we return the honor well.

Mondale's people are choosing Obama's VP? Good luck with that!
Back on topic, I believe each Guam SuperD only represents 1/2 vote; in other words, they have 4 SuperD votes but 8 delegates.

As Guam goes, so goes the nation.

Jake,
Yesterday, Martha Coakley, AG from Massachusetts, announced her endorsement of Clinton also. Did Hillary promise MA voters full voting rights also?
Posted by: countallthevotes | May 22, 2008 1:46:06 PM
Obama might not even win Illinois. Have you heard that Chicago has the highest gas prices? Have you heard about the shootings in Chicago? If 30% of the people who voted for Sen. Clinton vote for McCain, Obama will not win Illinois.

Actually, Clinton has her finger on a very sensitive issue which is not unique to Guam but pertains to most of our "territories". Though small (George Wills considers it too small for representation as our reps "on avergae" have 670K people they represent. "On average" is key here since in rality some have much less than Guam's population) Guam provides a valuable military base for the US. Since it is not a state, it has no real rights so it cannot discuss any decisions made by Congress and the military. It is factually an occupied territory with minimal rights in Congress. None of our states would allow themselves to be robbed of their rights while at the same time having to provide so much. Residents of Guam also serve in the U.S. military and can be conscripted when there is a draft. Yet they cannot vote. In this uncertain world we can either lose these territories if they decide to go independent or we can pr
