How Badly Is the Presumptive Democratic Nominee Going to Be Shellacked in W.V.?
May 10, 2008 5:20 PM
Doesn't look good anecdotally for Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., in West Virginia this Tuesday.
Party insiders say Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-N.Y., might beat him in the Mountaineer State on Tuesday by 30 points.
Yikes!
You want to know why superdelegates are trickling but not stampeding to Obama's side? His electoral weaknesses with white working-class voters, as evidenced by this pending stompage.
Of course, that doesn't change the daunting delegate math for Clinton. West Virginia has a mere 28 delegates, followed by Kentucky (51) and Oregon (52) on May 20; Puerto Rico (55) on June 1; and Montana (16) and South Dakota (15) on June 3.

questioner said ::: are you confirming that Obama is going to attack anyone who doesn't vote for him and send his troops out to riot and pilfer?
Nah blacks usually only murder loot and burn down buildings where they live then blame the whites. With Liberal Democrats cheering them on. The news loves this so also blames the WHITES

JUST WONDERING:
At least 31,000 OF THE N C VOTES FOR
B O were double-counted.... not that it counted there B U T
Obama, always did so much better in caucuses and we know there was a lot dirty stuff going on in Texas.
Isn't it plausible that there was a lot of underhanded voteknapping and switcheroo in the other caucus states as well?

and lets not forget-yes bill clinton had an affair with a woman in the white house.
but the impeachment was a witch hunt and all right thinking people know it.
it was the dumb right' way of trying to hurt him. and he stupidly put a bullseye on his back. but as far as helping the american people economically bill clinton did it.
and he did what he could to level the playing field for the poor black people.

LA in Indiana: You have no clue what you're talking about. Bill Clinton left office with a 65% APPROVAL RATING IN THE POLLS! GW Boosh was NOT appointed president because of Bill Clinton! GW Boosh and his SCOTUS STOLE the election. He was never elected and Bill Clinton was loved by a MAJORITY of people in this country when he left office. Get your facts straight before you insult one of our GREATEST Presidents EVER. Okay?

mai,
YOU ARE CORRECT.
dirty politics-
but no matter obama will not win in nov.
once they put obama and wright and ayers up against mccain the war hero. the american people do not know enough aobut obama
he will not be president.
and before someone says something about hagee and mccain
first mccain didn't sit and listen to hagee for 20 years.
obama dumped his preacher for politcal reasons
mccain grabed on to hagee for politcal reasons.
and i will still bet mccain the war hero will win out.

Perhaps the reasons so mny superdelegates are on the Obama bandwagon is because he has promised financial help during their next election or even maybe a high-paying government job when he is elected. That is the kind of campaigns and politics he has always followed and will continue to follow. It has absolutely nothing to do with best qualifications and best character. It is just very dirty politics.

Bluebird,
Don't be afraid if people saying you are racist for saying it.
I don't think it's racist.
I keep saying it too.
I know I'm not racist myself, I favor black people .I watch their movies,I listen to their songs, I make friend with them.
It's tha fact. Sam Donaldson said it on the George S this morning. He said probably people might call hin a racist after his comment.
Obama should face it in the GE.

The number of elected delegates won
in the primaries and the caucuses is the only thing that matters.
The number of states won, the popular vote, the specious electability argument and other similar criteria count for nothing. Superdelegates have never nominated a candidate who finished with fewer delegates in the
primaries and the caucuses.

Oh, really. The contests are not over until June 3. As I pointed out before, Clinton has a voter pool of nearly twice that of Obama, giving her West Virginia, Kentucky and Puerto Rico, and giving him Oregon, South Dakota and Montana. On the strength of this alone, the probability is that Clinton will wind up with a larger popular vote, more PLEDGED delegates (she's only 78 off the pace at this point) and yes, her potential Electoral College strength, based on performance to date, will count for a lot, as will experience and knowledge. As I said before, "Super Delegates" do not matter at this point. They should not be counted, as they are not PLEDGED to any candidate, even though they may have endorsed one. Some, as you may have noted have switched their endorsements, which is proof of what I am talking about. An endorsement does not equal a vote, period. If it goes to a DEADLOCKED Convention, then the "Super Delegates" matter, but not before. Therefore, the true scorecard, as of May 11, 2008 is: Obama 1,410 and Clinton 1,332 with a difference of 78. Of course that will change on Tuesday, won't it? But it won't be in Obama's favor.

rant-if hillary does not try to speak up for the rural people, who is there to speak for them? obama is not? if bill is there saying whatever he is saying to them-it IS because no one else is speaking for them.
if the rural white have been neglected it is obama who has neglected them

the truth is obama supporters, you may have won the battle of beating sen. clinton (and maybe, in your short sight that is all you wanted to do) but if you really thought obama would be president-he will not.
because of your choice in the primaries
we will all be hearing the name
president mccain-in the end (even if it is against they better interest) no way will obama win against john mccain the war hero. after we get finished with see the video' of mccain getting off that plane a freed pow. against obama and rev. wright-obama will wish he had not run for president.
no matter that mccain voted against offering more for the vets of today.
it will be interesting to see how he will cut down mccain.
obama will not win the POTUS

Hillary is the one that's trying to cause a major drift between some of these white blue collars by making it seem as if she's the ONLY candidate that can make this demographic vote democrat in the general election. Bill Clinton, on his many town stop speeches, will tell the crowd that Hillary is here because of people like 'them' and she's the only candidate that will fight for people like 'them' painting Obama as some kind of out of touch elitist – this is the kind of tactic one would use to total separate a voter’s frame of mind againt a candidate and you’d think the Clinton’s would realize that they are hurting someone in their own party. This division the Clinton campaign wants to create and they could care less if they destroy the party. If Clinton will step out of the way or at least stop her negative one-sided campaigning, Obama will be given the opportunity to do even better with this group. But right now it appears that Hillary is prolonging this fight to make it more difficult for Obama in the general election. Shame on her SNL yesterday was right.

To Mr. Graniteman, you are 100% correct John McCain will be President and the "change" candidate will have a November 5, 2008 Wednesday morning "NO" prayer breakfast with John Kerry and Ted Kennedy and John Edwards. In 2004 John Kerry won Ma,RI,CT,NJ,DE, Wis, Min, Ill Wash,Org, Calif, MD. DC, Pennsylvania and Michigan
HOWEVER THIS TIME JOHN MCCAIN WILL ALSO WIN PENNSYLVANIA AND MICHIGAN; WITH TOM RIDGE ON THE TICKET. I HAVE CANCELED MY CLEARWIRE INTERNET SERVICE FOR THE NEXT 4 YEARS EFFECTIVE TOMORROW. NO CHANGE, NO HOPE, AND NO FUTURE IN BLOGGING ABOUT POLITICAL MATTERS I CANNOT IMPACT HERE IN FLORIDA. BEST WISHES TO ALL. ON FEBRUARY 19, 2009 I WILL NO LONGER HAVE TELEVISION SO I WILL NOT EVEN CARE WHAT PRESIDENT MCCAIN DOES WITH THE WAR. JOIN ME AT WHOCARESHALLOFFAME TO REMEMBER THE FUTURE THAT COULD HAVE BEEN.

As I recall from high school, math isn't as much fun as stomping someone.
Remember, we are uneducated rednecks who don't understand Obama. Stomping the smart kid on the playground we understand completely.
This will go down as the weirdest election in American history.

Truth about the Clintons years -- A MIXED BAG THEY WERE!
1. If the 'Clintons years' were that great, why did the American people DID NOT want to continue the Clinton legacy with Al Gore?
After all, the 'Reagan years' were gambled with for at least 4 more years of Daddy Bush?
2. American people were so put off by the Clinton barefaced lie ('I did not have sex with that woman').
3. Americans were put off by the Clinton bad example of 'cheating on wife' to America's husbands.
4. Americans were put off by the Clintons taking advantage of Monica Lewinski, a woman young and naive enough to be their own daughter.
5. Americans were put off by Clinton debasing the White House that they DID NOT want a continuation of the Clinton years.
6. Americans were so put off by the IMPEACHED Clintons that they did not want Al Gore continuing the corrupted legacy of the Clintons.
7. Economy was great during the Clinton years.
8. The self-centered and self-absorbed Clintons SELFISHLY DESTROYED THEIR OWN LEGACY, just as Hilary is REPEATING before our eyes!
9. The Clintons debased behavior denied Al Gore AND ENABLED BUSH!
10. Clintons years were a MIXED BAG of self-absorbed highs and selfish lows.
11. The Clintons mixed bag so disgusted the American people that they gambled and 'committed suicide' with a bungling Bush!
12. Please!
No more about the 'Clinton years'; because the 'Clinton years' caused the horrible horrible Bush years!
Time for a change to something better for good and decent Americans.

LA in Indiana -
Your post makes no sense. She did nothing but be similarly discraced. It would be a reason to vote FOR her, not AGAINST her. Find another phony reason to hate - this one doesn't work.
