Obama in Montana: Republicans Spreading Muslim Rumors About Me
May 20, 2008 9:35 AM
In Bozeman, Montana, last night, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, said "the Republicans, they're trying to make this is not about you, it's about me. They're trying to say, 'Well, Obama, we don't know him that well, he hasn't been around that long, he's got a funny name, maybe he's a Muslim.'
"You know, they've been perpet- they've been saying that a long time now, it doesn't matter how many times you tell 'em I'm Christian, they keep on trying to perpetrate this...they want to make people worry about me."
Watch it HERE.

Listed below are links to weblogs that reference Obama in Montana: Republicans Spreading Muslim Rumors About Me:
This election is about you and i and the conditions of this country, you accepted Bush and his failed policies for 8 years, look around and see the mess we are in and now you are distracted by questions that would never had been mentioned if Obama was white. when you were born were you born a christian or if was father was a murderer does that make you a murderer, or can people hold something against you that someone else said. Has anyone questioned the truth of Rev Wright's words or jsut dumped the blame on Obama. if we dont stop being so easily distracted from the truth, such as high gas prices, the economic situation, affordable healthcare, etc.. we are bound to continue in the same failed policies of the current administration. these are the issues which affect us all, black, white, latin, asian etc...

Well, Obama lied in North Carolina, "the American flag drapped over my father's casket.".......His father was buried as a Muslim in Kenya. His grandfather served in the military. Just more of Obama creating his own story...all fiction.
Plus, there appears to be a video of Michelle ranting and in a rage at Trinity and she uses "whitey". That will be McCain's October Surprise. Find that tidbit at pro-Hillary site, No Quarter.

While I am a Christian it has long bothered me that too often members of the GOP forget that they must serve all member s of the country and we are a country of Christians, Muslims, Buddhists, Atheists, Wiccans, etc.
I've received far too many of the Obama is a Muslim emails. It is just ridiculous.

EYES WIDE OPEN: The Republican leadership not only believes that they are in the worst shape they have been in since 1974, they are telling congressional candidates to go it alone. Last week they lost three congressional contests - all in deeply red territory - despite Swiftboating from their opponents. There are more registered Democrats than anytime in my life, and there is a huge war chest - perhaps the Democrats are far ahead of the Republicans for the first time ever. The richest man in American has just endorsed Obama. 80% of the country believes that our Republican president is leading the country in the wrong direction. The Democrats are in trouble? Turn off cable news and buy a newspaper.

d5k,
He said Mr Wright helped him to write the book.

For those who say they don't understand who Obama is, or that he seems like a blank slate, and doesn't relate to the american people, I urge you all to read his two books, Dreams From my Father and The Audacity Of Hope. They both are very insightful and give testament to his strong character. Unlike other politicians who use ghostwriters when publishing their books (John McCain), Obama actually drafted and wrote the entire books himself. Before you are fooled by the media and the pundits, take some time to learn about the candidates characters yourself.

you know i'm going to be razzing you tomorrow about obama (:>
obama is not the one.
i would have preferred to wait for harold ford.

but we have watched harold grow into his own.

To my dearest "jgaw”, I for one must be the bigger person, to admit & thank you for the proper "blogging" etiquette. I apologize to you personally, if I have offended you in any way by my use of caps. That being said, was the message clear enough to understand the deeper meaning of my words? Now the reason & the ability of me being able to speak directly to you & not feel offended myself, is because I am a Christian first & foremost, but also being a man of color, I do come from a patchwork of intricate threads & patterns that which make up my American experience. May I suggest, you watch a great movie called "THE GREAT DEBATERS" W/ DENZEL WASHINGTON, there you may see but a glimpse of the disrespect w/ which is carried almost daily. But now there is a viable candidate w/ which we may finally identify w/, & it’s then again that hatred from others, for just being black rears its ugly head. Because "we" as people of color were only given “white men" as our only voting choice. Now if BO was a man who spoke of doing the exact same thing that has always been done , I for one would not submit a vote of confidence in that person’s favor. In conclusion , I say to you we are all called to treat one another w/ respect & love & if correction is the only hand that you may extend towards your fellow man & w/o love ,, well , I ask you how should I take it?

Nope not married don't beleve in it..
Do you wear a flag pin? I also think Mcain would do a good job but I don't like the war. I don't think he has a very good economic policy and I also I'm scared of his conservative judge deal. The thing I don't like about the GOP is their pushing of what they think are good morals on me. I'm free to think how I want and to do what I want.My uncles and grandfathers died to give me that right. The GOP has gotten away form their own values what happened to small government low taxes kind of protect your own mentality they used to have. Now were strung all over the earth spreading "freedom" this to me feels like a crusade I don't beleve in. I was for Ron Paul but the GOP pushed Mccain and ROmney on me whatever
Posted by: Joe | May 20, 2008 1:42:07 PM
annie, McCain has lobbyists from foreign countries working on his campaign...he just got rid of five of them. Why does that not concern you about McCain as president??
Why does it not concern you that bill won't release library donors? Don't we need to know they are not beholden to some foreign entity, or is that ok?
If Joe Lieberman is not in his ear, he can't keep the Iraq warring factions straight....why is that NOT a concern to you?
I don't hear anyone discussing that to the degree we attack Obama. Why?

Re: In the words of Jeremiah Wright....
It's not deficient, its just different!
I rest my case..there you go!
It's ok to be different. It's ok to be different looking. It's not ok to decide who gets special treatment due to their race, gender or color. Our society (to survive), should not be able to punish people who have more by regulations/taxes. It's wrong for any man/woman to condition humans to feel bad if they have more. Don't you see, you make yourself less. You do good deeds for others because noone asks you to do. You do it because you want to. Michelle's comments show she and Obama see each person as different not equal. They want to regulate what is set as an equal society. Sorry, won't ever commit to that logic because it's wrong and destructive to your own brothers and sisters.
Posted by: annie | May 20, 2008 1:41:04 PM
You hit it on the head Joe.
What I don't understand is why people call what she said 'radical'. What in the h*ll is radical abou that....she's right! You can go on any college campus in this country and prove her right. I went to have lunch with my daughter in the dorm cafe on the Purdue campus....same thing, but we think nothing of it. That's just the way it is.

Worst thing that have happend to america than obama:
slavery
cival war
pearl harbor
ww1
ww2

Gorge Bush
Oil dependnce
Iraq
Veitnam
The point made by HP in Boston is not very smart.

Hi Joe. Seeing her and listening to her, gives an important insight to what they do talk about as adults. Have you ever been married! A wife has an important role/input to their spouse Obama even said that. He rants bad messages about our president..he's gonna be the same ole kind of liberal leader! If he brought change, don't you think I wouldn't be for it. He's not the real deal since he's just the typical power player. There are too many questions about him. Why wouldn't he even wear a flag pin? Some of us can see it and refuse to put any party/any person before the country. McCain's a good man, deserving and well informed. And he's PATRIOTIC, that trumps any historical logic for a vote!
Posted by: annie | May 20, 2008 1:30:54 PM
It's also a know fact that people are more comfortable with people who look like they do. In high school everone wants the same crap there friends have as an adult most people that are libral don't hang out with conservatives. Now is it just a shock that Michelle pointed this out? I really don't understand the point on this one because what she said is true. If you give a white man a choice between hanging out with 30 black guys or 30 white guys 9 times out of 10 the white man will choose to hange out with people who look like him same with a black man. I'm not saying that its right just saying thats how it is. I know I'll get the biggot racists thing shouted at me but whatever I don't care. We need to discuss things like this in order to form a more perfect union.
Posted by: Joe | May 20, 2008 1:27:39 PM
annie? what was wrong with what she said??
Its the truth! I noticed most people in this country don't like the truth, whether it comes from Hagee or Wright. YOU might not have been raised in that type environment, but others were.
In the words of Jeremiah Wright....
It's not deficient, its just different!
Posted by: LA in Indiana | May 20, 2008 1:27:27 PM
We DON'T know him well enough.
When he began running, all we knew about Obama was the self-serving hype of his two semi-biographical novels, and the passage of (other legislators') bills given him by Emil Jones in return for some pork bellies.
Almost everything we've seen and heard of him since serves to cast doubts upon his ability to be president, and having Michele in the package doesn't increase it's value.
No matter WHO wins, the DNC is broken.
In fact, it is UN democratic!
As for the media, it's like they drew a dark curtainn over anything "Hillary" and augmented everything... down to the last fart... of BO's.
As for me, I will either vote for Hillary (the best) or, if necessary, for McCain.
Country before Party!
GOOD LUCK, HILLARY!!!
Posted by: EYES EXTREMELY WIDE OPEN | May 20, 2008 1:24:57 PM
I can't spell today, annie, sorry, that last post was supposed to say "I'm sure we have..."
There are racists in both parties, but they shouldn't be running things. Most people in this country are in the middle....all races.
I don't like the racist sentiment I have seen with the dems either, that is why I think its time for a third party. You don't tear down one race in order to lift another.
I wish you could have experienced the campaign Obama has here in Indiana....every race, every age....people are just passionate about Barack Obama and the change this country sorely needs.
Posted by: LA in Indiana | May 20, 2008 1:20:56 PM
Annie... SO WHAT.. What does that mean for you or me? I don't like Hillary's wife so what? He's not running for pres. I don't like her preacher SO WHAT? He's not running for pres. I don't like her daughter so? I hate their damn dog. What does that have to do with her policies? If I liked her policies I would still vote for her because she would be the decider as George would say.
Posted by: Joe | May 20, 2008 1:17:30 PM
I still think Obama's not president ready. There's nothing been written to make me see that. I have to be honest, I don't like his wife. Anyone to say they haven't like their country who has those kind of deep views makes me worry.
Michellw Obama statement she touted in South Carolina:
Mrs. Obama: We don't like being pushed outside of our comfort zones. You know it right here on this campus. You know people sitting at different tables, y'all living in different dorms. I was there. Y'all not talking to each another, taking advantage of the fact that you're in this diverse community because sometimes it's easier to hold onto your own stereotypes and misconceptions, it makes you feel justified in your ignorance. That's America. So the challenge for us is, are we ready for change? the end.
My thoughts..Her and her spouse no question been influenced by Jeremiah Wright.
Posted by: annie | May 20, 2008 1:13:10 PM
Just remember the repubs or the demos aren't racists parties. Repubs. freed the slaves I just don't understand why everyone thinks the GOP is the protector of moral values in this country. They don't share my values. They led us in to war they drove us in to debt they let our jobs go over seas they cut aid to the poor in this country. They have kind of a mission to spread western style democracy when we should celbrate devirsity and let some other counties build thier own gov. as they see fit.
Posted by: Joe | May 20, 2008 1:08:52 PM
Obama is the worst thing that ever happened to America. Wright was right when he called him a politician. He sucks at that too, whining about the rebuts already!
They will call you many names BO, get ready, you are going to be blown away in the venom and truth. I will never vote for him, never.
ANYONE BUT OBAMA! ANYONE!

Re: and you are absolutely correct annie...I'm we have at least one in every state in the nation.
But I don't live my life worried about who is racist and who isn't.
The people that say the GOP is a racist party are wrong. They have been wrong for a long time. They get away with promoting hate which = power to those who lust for it. I think the new racism on display is in the democratic party. Both parties have good people supporting them (and extremists supporters) but the way I see it the radical left have taken over one party. The other party is so PC they are stuck! I just cannot for the life of me can't see why most people cannot work together for society (not for special groups or their agendas). Good is bad and bad is good...now..we are getting sooo far off the morality track. You have to keep morals and standards/rules in anything to get productive results.
Posted by: annie | May 20, 2008 12:58:55 PM
I never called you a racist. I think you have a right to be offended. I think I have a right not to be bothered by it. Isn't that fair enough?
Posted by: Joe | May 20, 2008 12:55:49 PM
Nat is right on that last point most black folks I know let you know right away if they don't like you. While most if not all the white people I know will be nice to your face and talk smack behind your back. But then again I'm in montana I only know like 4 black people.

Posted by: annie | May 20, 2008 12:40:45 PM
JRinLA....go google Dr. Robert Strecker, please
He is white, and he is one of the first Drs in this country, after research, to 'find' and state that AIDS was created in a laboratory, and injected into homosexual men in NY, SF, and into blacks in Haiti, as the hepatitis vaccine.
Then where did AIDS first develop you ask? In NY, SF, and Haiti
hmmmmmmm
Children are not born racist JR...
Racists are made. Remember that.

It speaks a lot that Hillary cannot beat this guy. To me, in reality, she has but Obama's media wants him. Obama cannot win on his own. Think about it. You notice the odder the candidates are for the dems, the left will defend them to the planet. The repubs do throw out their people. Why are leftists so messed up. I do think it's a mental issue. I use to think when people said that..it was kind of dumb but it can explain a lot. Because they are sooo angry..that's not normal nor good. They want to remove God, the moral issue out of all public domain...then watch out! That's it..take to the bank!
Posted by: annie | May 20, 2008 12:36:33 PM
lol Joe I did hear the wonder bread reference once before.
After 40+ years of having to deal with race, I don't think people (on all sides of the color wheel) are as ignorant as they used to be. All those terms are not as derogatory as they were once meant to be. And I believe, for the most part, we all get along a lot better than we used to.
This election is not about race, its not about gender....its about US citizens coming together and working to bring back to the forefront, We The People...
Posted by: LA in Indiana | May 20, 2008 12:27:33 PM

White Grandmother and Black Grandfather (born a slave, freed at the age of 6) on one side.
Black Grandmother and Indian/French Grandfather on the other side.

NOTHING can prepare you to be president! I hear you need to be a CEO or a a gov. of a state or 10 years in the senate. Ok. fine! but those people who have that experiance have gotten us to were we are today. Plain and simple. In debt, in war, no jobs, no security and no education.. we need CHANGE

I have listened to Hillary. I don't like her health care plan. I think this gas tax thing was just political posturing for her because she is a very smart woman and she knows it won't work. Also her fake sothern accent thing really annoyed me. Then you have her trying to tie Obama to tese radicals when she used to work for a law firm that used to represent these radicals. Then the Bosnia thing were she says she misspoke? She wrote a book on it! how do you misspeak on somthing you wrote a book on? I dont think she has the experiance she is talking about I don't think I should have to have health care. I'm a single white male blue collar worker and I don't want to have to pay for another adults health care thats BS. I'm not worried about Obama taking my guns because well I own guns and thats the only thing me and the NRA have in common. No matter who is pres. they only get my gun if they pry it from my cold dead hands!

McCain will win by a landslide. People that I see in the mall, at the post office, standing at check out lines and while eating out..they are furious about Mr. Obama. What you see on TV, a packaged make believe by the media. The media hires the most simple minded people/see Obama/see Chris Matthews/Oberman nut case/doesn't he need to be medicated. The far extreme logic, they have overtaken the print press for years. They don't hide anymore, do they! See Obama. He's such a mixed up person. No one can say anything about him and he wants the job as CIC. Hello! He had 143 days in his seat when he announced his run for the presidency. He gets all kinds of favorite treatment by the media. They know he believes the message of Wright. His wife touted that in January '08 in South Carolina. Hillary was apart of the system that stuck a knife in her back. She build that system for the blacks too. She supported to have the government paying for abortions. She supports welfare and tax and wealth distribution. You know, they think because they tout this crap of tax disturbution (their gimmick) that the average person will look up to them as such a good person but in turn, you cannot fake that. They think it makes it ok. Look at Obama, wanting to talk with our enemies with no pre conditions. Even Joe Biden, said wait a minute, Obama! They have problems. Hillary's getting her payback and she should stand up to her party who betrayed her but she brought it on herself. There are too many people on her side that just simply hate other people who disagree with them. That's what we have. One side doesn't want to work with the other side to work for America. See John Edwards and his 2 Americas logic. Hillary didn't mind her media to bash President Bush nor her supporters. It's bad out there but people are really ticked off at the media. I quess it will take more attacks before people realize all of this energy of fighting among ourselves will ever heal and stop. I hope President Bush fights all that he can. He's made mistakes but I would never wish Kerry on our nation nor Obama, Michelle and Wright. Can you image seeing Wright in the WH for breakfast prayer!

Nat Turner thinks a large vocabulary is proof of superior intelligence. Well, sesquipedalia doesn't win elections. And, I doubt very much that we will see Mr. Turner at the inauguration in 2009, since it won't be Senator Obama being inaugurated.

if you are reading nat turners post with the hating and owning people and obama 08 stuff.
i believe this must be what most of the black people voting blindly for obama are thinking if they help obama get elected-somehow their lot is going to change. and it will be black on top.
well this is not the way-my black people must try to forgive and white people must stop with the thinking they are superior to black people.
we should have all stayed in the middle with sen. clinton-and let her help us with leveling the economic playing field for all.
and left the uniting of black and whites to the preachers and your own church.
but with obama and the church deal, obama has been a part of a church for 20 years. and all we have heard from his preacher is hate.

If Obama would just give us the facts, he could get rid of the rumors.
But he won't. He thinks we're not entitled to know about this man who would be President of our country. It's all very unfair!
Fine. I know nothing about Obama, and will vote for McCain.

on the issue of michelle obama and obama saying don't talk about his wife,
what about bill clinton? he is a spouse
michelle said she would like to scratch his eyes out.
and the main point is michelle obama did say what she said.
obama has tried to say the economy under bill clinton was not that good.
so i say if mccain, sen. clinton and barack obama didn't want anything said about their spouses, they should not have them on the campaign trail.they should stay at home. or at least stay away from a microphone.

OpusRooster---So, you are saying that George W Bush didn't earn his post graduate degree from Harvard, but Senator Obama did earn his? Of course you would say that. Anything else would put a crimp in your world view. Let's see, Bush managed to dupe the entire Congress, and most of the country, but he's an idiot who didn't really earn his MBA. Makes sense.

and nat, i am glad you don't have the time to share your intellect with me,
the little bit you have shared is crazy and disjointed.
your kind of intellect explains nothing and enlightens no one.
it only leaves questions about the writers sanity.

LA in Indiana the word 'really' came in a second speech not the first!!
Posted by: spock | May 20, 2008 11:14:44 AM
Nat Turner,
You seem very impressed with yourself. Perhaps you could be more effective if you were to stop denigrating any who point out inconsistencies in your posts, or who just disagree with you.

Darlene, I am probably more Christian that you are. My guess is you voted for bush/cheney the last 2 elections. Does it bother you that we are in a war that could have been avoided. Does it bother you how many kids will never see their father again? People like you need to put your brain in gear before you open your mouth. People that pretend to be Christian but act the opposite offend me the most.

Buford Gooch -- It tells me his daddy bought his degree for him. Son, George, darn sure does not have the brains to EARN an MBA from any university. He has proved it to the world time and time again.

Obama proves his Marxist blindness perfectly when he tries to defend his proposed increase on capital gains taxes.
Belief in punitive marginal tax rates is a tenet of good Marxists in the US.
Charles Gibson pointed out that revenues increase with lower rates, but Obama clung to his playbook, unable to deal with facts contrary to his learned responses.
Obama is a disgrace.

Did anyone see how many people gathered at a rally in Oregon for Obama? 75,000...you don't generate that kind of excitement unless there is some real appeal. I attended a rally in PA that had 50,000. Can you imagine people getting this excited over mccain. He really doesn't stand a chance in the fall. Obama 2008!
Posted by: pt | May 20, 2008 10:51:46 AM
BobF...Now you are really getting carries away...Why are you blaming Obama for his parents. He did not choose who to be born to. What difference does it make how and who married his parents. Wow, you Hillary Bloggers are on a role..

nat turner,
what right track would that be?
you just explained how bad america is,
you just said how 45 years ago obama could not sit on the bus,
so back on what glorious road are you talking about. you said "back on the right track" well when was that?
yes with obama well go a long way
so far he has shown he went from sitting on the back of the bus
to not only driving the bus, but throwing people under the bus.

If I understand you correctly, you are saying something to the effect of, "Listen only to what I say, and pay no attention to what I've actually been doing for these past couple of decades."

Obama frequently twists the words of others in his mocking, arrogant monologues, so why shouldn't he expect the same? The only people who think Israel provides an excuse for militant jihadists are people like Obama. It appears that he does not know the difference between good and evil. Like Wright with his chickens coming home to roost, Obama suggests that there is an excuse for militant islam. He is an apologist for those whose views are morally abhorrent. He sees all sides and takes none. Does he truly know the difference between good and evil, right and wrong or are all views one vast and morally equivalent continuum from his perspective?

How anyone can honestly believe Obama is a change from the same old political games is beyond me. He said his association with Rezko was a 'dumb' decision, that he didn't know Wright was a rascist, that he wasn't putting down small town workers, that he wants a bipartisan administration. He was voted "Most Liberal Senator" title last year, he wants gun controls, made a deal with Rezko even while knowing Rezko was under investigation for corruption, lied about not knowing Wright's agenda, and told a liberal San Francisco audience what they wanted to hear about rural 'hicks'. He told Judicial Watch he had no records from his term in the Illinois legislature and is using a Madison Avenue slogan 'Change We Can believe In' to try to get in the White House. He comes from a wealthy Hawaiian family even though he tries to portray himself as one of the downtrodden. 100 years ago he would have been called a snake oil salesman.

if the msm had done its job-and properly vetted obama-he would not be in the lead now, and the dem party would not have this problem of being on the slick road to losing in nov.
why did superman choose to be a newspaper man as his alter-ego?
because he was suppose to save the people from harm coming from with in the country and out of the country.
oh superman, oh clark kent,
where were you when we needed you?

Barack Obama! You are in the big league, now! A word to the wise... toughen-up and get use to it! BTW, do you want some cheese to go with your whine?
Posted by: OpusRooster | May 20, 2008 10:35:57 AM
Obama=whiner
Posted by: Trud | May 20, 2008 10:29:30 AM
Equally appalling to the ongoing Wright saga was watching Obama's fellow parishioners clapping, hooting, dancing and cavorting during Wright's hateful, anti-American, anti-white sermons.
These are the people Obama has CHOSEN to associate with for nearly A QUARTER CENTURY. And he’s our great uniter? Give me a break.
Obama is bad, bad news.

Samantha....the media covering up? What exactly did they cover up?
John McCain just had to fire some from his campaign....lobbyists with ties to foreign countries. I don't hear you disingenuous folk talking about that. For what reason is that NOT important to this election and to this country?
bill clinton won't disclose his library donors, some for sure from foreign countries. For what reason is that NOT important to this country?
Again, all you have is smears. You can't talk issues because then your selected candidate wouldn't look quite as good. It looks more and more like mccain and clinton are the lying dogs. Your double talk looks more like a double standard.

I'm sure who BO is suppose to bring together. It looks like he has already done more to divide than to unite!

no la in indiana that would be axelrod doing for obama what rove did in past with geo. obama is the black geo bush.
sen. clinton has never stopped talking about the issues, she tells us how she will pay for the things in the plan and everything.
obama tell people what they already know. and then talks about what his opponents have said. he has told you nothing, he is showing us all he why with everyday why he should not be in that white house, claiming to be able to run this country.
I believe HE NEEDS to make this an issues because he is so weak on the real issues.
michelle obama was not talking about issues when she said she could just scratch bill clintons eyes out.
Posted by: jgaw | May 20, 2008 10:24:20 AM
After 15 months of "hope and change" Obama backers now want to discuss issues? Sorry, the only issue that matters in a McCain-Obama match-up is character, experience, and judgment. If you wanted a race centered on issues, you should have supported Hillary.

Waaaaaa. Yeah that's right I (Obama) am a Christian because I haven't really been sitting in the pews of that Rev Wright's church the last 20 years. I got married and my children have been baptized etc. HOW CAN OBAMA HAVE IT BOTH WAYS?
