Rupert Murdoch Effuses Praise for…Barack Obama?
May 29, 2008 11:50 AM
At the Wall Street Journal's "D: All Things Digital" conference, Rupert Murdoch, chairman and CEO of News Corporation -- owner of Fox News Channel, and the New York Post, among other platforms many consider conservative -- was practically gushing about ….liberal Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois.
"He's become a rock star, it's fantastic," Murdoch said.
(Watch video excerpts HERE and HERE.)
Murdoch said Republicans were in for a tough time this November. "You've got the Obama phenomenon; you've got undoubtedly a recession," he said.
As for Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., Murdoch said McCain has "been in Congress a long time" which means he's made "too many compromises. So, what's he really stand for? He's a patriot, he's a friend of mine, a very decent guy, I think he has -- and I say this sympathetically -- I think he has a lot of problems."
Asked point-blank if he had anything to with the New York Post endorsing Obama in the New York primary, Murdoch said, "yeah."
The Alley Insider also reports that Murdoch said, "I want to be convinced that Obama is the real thing, that he can really carry through. I'm open to that."
He said Obama "might not carry Florida, because the Jewish people are suspicious of him, and so are Hispanics... and while people won't talk about it, race will matter."
And Clinton supporter Hillary Rosen writes at the Huffington Post that Murdoch also said of Obama, "I don't think he will win Florida.....but he will win in Ohio and the election" plus "I am anxious to meet him" and "I want to see if he will walk the walk."
What the heck…?

Ha. You guys have all been had. Of course Murdock is praising Obama.. he and the republicans would rather run against him. Again, we've been had and out strategized again.

Sorry people Obama has a message that is ringing out loud and clear. America needs and wants CHANGE YOU CAN BELIEVE IN. Why are some of you so hell bent on taking a negative outlook on this?
Bill and Hillary have been a household name for over 15 years and a guy named Barack Obama came out and is actually beating her at the game of politics.
There is one major difference he is not part of the "Good Ol' Boys Network". That is what makes Cbama have a chance to work on both sides of the aisle without a problem. Give him a chance and let America heal it's failing economy. Mc Clellan is telling it all and Mc Same is in it to be a 3rd Bush extension. NO WAY, Vote Obama 2008.

Anne and Mary, aside from the fact that Obama sat for three hours and answered every question from dozens of reporters from the two big Chicago newspapers about Rezko, I'd love to know who your candidate is so I can write a huge paragraph on their associations and transgressions. I guarantee that their associations are more dangerous to your pocketbook and way of life than Obama's. I bet you have some shady associations yourself. But it's ok, cuz you can hide behind your keyboard for cover. Cowards!!!

The love fest for BO at the unfair and unbalanced news network is pure BS...they so do not want to run AGAINST HILLARY. This is the next nail in her coffin, they have no interest in BO at all! Beware of the devil you know, Murdoch!

I can live with OBAMA maybe shutting a “deaf ear” to what his preacher taught him for some 20 years, probably because he believes the teachings but would never speak the philosophy to others because he knows it is radical. But it is really hard for me to believe that he never expected to payback or give Rezko anything in return for his generous gifts? His biggest fundraiser, personal real estate advisor. THIS MORNING it was announced that Antoin Rezko has been issued an arrest warrant for corruption-related charges by a Las Vegas judge for large gambling debts. This man was giving money to OBAMA like there was no tomorrow and it appears he had no money to give? Reason? Rezko told the federal judge in Illinois that he was $50 million in debt. Rezko besides giving mega bucks to OBAMA for his campaign, he bought the lot next to OBAMA’s home at a mere $650,000.00 to help OBAMA purchase the home. OBAMA knew well that his friend was under investigation for corruption LONG before he bought the house, which has been satisfactory proven in court, long before he accepted the money for his first Senator campaign. Never anything in return of any kind to Rezko, just accepted these as “gifts” because he is a “nice guy”. This should clearly tell you what OBAMA thinks of the average US citizen – gullible, easy to fool, naïve, he is fleecing America with his speeches.

Anyone supporting Senator OBama is supporting a Socialist/Marxist. His interest is not with the average American citizen but with the Hamas, PLO and other terrorist groups and individuals who lean away from moderate democratic ideals.
Say no to Obama.

Murdoch must like and knows O'bama can win that is why Bill O'Reilly was defending his show last night stating that he does not lean too far to the right unlike Hannity and Limbaugh. He was talking about how conservative shows are going to be "shut down" after this election...interesting...

Now there's a valid reason for Obama to be president...he's a rock star.
That probably sums up why he gets all the young voters.
America is in big trouble...

If Murdoch is hedging his bets and openly complimenting Obama he must think there is a very real chance Obama will win this election. Murdoch likes to think he's a "king maker" but he likes even more to be on the winning side so he can try to call in the favors in the future. If Murdoch and his empire start backing Obama I think it's all over for Mccain.

I don't like the way his cable network operates...far from 'fair and balanced' but you must admit the guy is no dummy. The hand writing is clearly on the wall. McCain's flip-flopping and gaffes will prove fatal in November. Not to mention his BFF W.
