Still No Clinton Campaign Answer on Guam
May 03, 2008 3:57 PM
The Clinton campaign was pretty quick getting back to me after Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., blasted how a lobbyist for Shell Oil defended Sen. Clinton's, D-N.Y., gas tax holiday proposal on CNN. ...
But seven hours later, still no response from them on what exactly Clinton meant when she promised the people of Guam full voting rights.
Do you think we'll ever get an answer? Are they sitting there in their campaign offices saying, "C'mon, Jake, you know she didn't really mean it. It's just one of those things politicians say!"
Or are they gathering the data on the constitutional fight she will wage to bring full representation to non-states?
- jpt
UPDATE: The answer was the latter -- they did get back to me. Check it out HERE.

Here's the deal: the race is over, period. Clinton folks don't want to believe this but do the math, and the math is the only thing that counts - all the way to the Convention. She can't catch him. He's ahead in delegates, number of states, POPULAR VOTE, and nothing is going to significantly change by June 3. She's simply in it for egoic reasons to prove to the world that she's some sort of "mega-fighter" so her senatorial time is still considered valid. It's the same thing Huckabee did. We don't need a "fighter-type", we need a "unifier-type". Fighting is an outdated reptilian-brained activity left over from the giant lizard age. Let's get on with fully supporting Obama in a big way so we can create the next evolutionary wave in getting our act together as a unified country.

oh yeah, this week's Obama word is "pandering"; I remember a short time back when it was "myogenist".... and it was pandered so much for a short period of time I thought I was living in a woman's cash register.
But here's something for you:
"The choice is simple: Senator Obama wants the American people to pay the gas tax this summer but Senator Clinton thinks Big Oil should.
The Clinton gas tax holiday is financed exclusively through a tax on windfall profits from oil companies and keeps the Highway Transportation Trust fund intact. Hillary opposed a plan in 2000 for a gas tax holiday because it was financed with transportation funds.
Sen. Obama voted three times for a gas tax holiday in 2000 when gas prices were less than $2 a gallon."
How quickly we forget.
A vote for B O is a vote for chanCe;
A vote for HIllary is a vote for
$$$$ C H A N G E $$$$

Why don't we recount EVERY state Senator Obama won?
As Hillary said "He Can't Win".
It's really pathetic that she couldn't "close the deal"...
Posted by: s_ben | May 4, 2008 12:08:45 AM
There will be a recount! :)
For those of you who are not very familiar with elections, when the difference in votes in so small in percentage. In this case, less than 1% ..., there is always a revote.
Good night. :) and Hillary 08!

The gas tax holiday isn't enough! I want CANDY! When will Hillary promise me CANDY???
Posted by: Demetrius | May 3, 2008 11:57:59 PM
"A win is a win" says Hillary when she wins by the skin of her teeth in a state she's expected to win by big numbers....but when Barack wins in any state by any percentage, she just says. "he was expected to win there" or "I cut into his lead." Guam is ANOTHER win for Barack like it or not.
"Clintonspeak" started with Monica and hasn't stopped since.

Everyone has forgotten about Health Insurance and the war in Iraq. the big news of the week has been about suspending the gas tax... for the summer . It's called HUSH money and designed to keep you quiet for at least a couple of months. At first I was concerned that perhaps there were a lot of Hillary supporters blogging.... then I remembered Lush Rhimbaugh and his operation..... It seems to me that the Republicans are going out of their way to get Hillary nominated, because they believe she would be the BEST opponent against McCain. That would be great ..... getting to pick your own opponent. That's what they do in wrestling... isn't it ?

Barack Obama's Immediate Gas Price Relief Options for Bush to Implement in this EMERGENCY!
Bush is the only one who can help Americans in a practical way.
1. Release oil from the Petroleum Reserve, or stop saving more oil for now!
This Petroleum Strategy of gradual releasing oil into the market will have the effect of increasing supplies and lowering prices.
2. President Bush can call on Oil executives to DO THEIR PATRIOTIC DUTIES in this moment of national need (much like our people in Iraq are doing).
If our people in Iraq can surrender lives, limbs and mental health for the good of the nation in need, then surely the oil executives can SURRENDER SOME PROFITS. And keep gas prices down for the working Americans and small business who are heavily dependent on reasonable gas prices.
3. If so many Americans are hurting while some companies are making exorbitant profits, then the nation does not have a situation of SHARED PAIN in this moment of crisis! And that is bad!
IT IS UNPATRIOTIC of the oil company executives.
For think about it, fellow Americans, if the oil companies were in a bind, THE AMERICAN TAX PAYERS WOULD HAVE BAILED OUT THOSE COMPANIES.
So this is the time for oil executive PATRIOTS to step up to the plate and SHARE THE PAIN in the same way that they share the joys of America!
Pandering to voters and preying on their distress at a serious time of need will solve nothing!
And the gas tax gimmick is disgusting.
Presidential candidates have no power to impact gas prices at the moment.
ONLY BUSH CAN IMPACT GAS PRICES NOW! AND HE WILL NOT! BUSH DOES NOT CARE!

Some people are throwing their vote away by voting for Hillary so I guess they want something out of it. I guess they think 30 dollars is worth it.

Can anyone please explain this story about Peter Paul Vs Hillary Clinton? It's on the blogs now. It's about stuff on fraud and campaign finance against Hillary. Who is Peter Paul? Why is no one talking about this? Isn’t this a serious issue in a general election? This has been described as the campaign finance scandal of the new millennium and no one wants to discuss it. Does America not deserve better? I leave it to you guys to decide.

They didn't get back to you because they're too busy working on even more pandering soundbites.

HRC is uninspiring to Democrats, she is so unlikable. It would be easy to vote against HRC in a general election. Now, add in the dishonesty factor, the lies about sniper fire in Bosnia (that would be exploited and linked to disrespect for U.S. soldiers) and you have a big win for McCain in Nov. If you want the war in Iraq to end, if you want the economy to improve, if you want a president that upholds the constitution...then Barack is your candidate. He cares about seniors, education for young people, and giving our veterans the resources and the respect that they deserve. I am looking forward to an Obama Administration. Our country will once again be a world leader and a peaceful nation. Obama '08 Yes we can!

The ONLY American politician who can impact gas prices RIGHT NOW is BUSH; and he will not; because Bush DOES CANNOT CARE about the plight of ordinary Americans!
No candidate for Presidency can impact gas tax now!
So McCain & Hilary is just pandering!
Hilary is just playing politics as usual'!
Bush can tap into the OIL RESERVE; since we do have an emergency.
And Bush can appeal to his oil buddies to ROLL BACK GAS PRICES as a PATRIOTIC DUTY!
The Special Interest Congress WILL NEVER pass a windfall tax.
And the BUSH WILL NEVER SIGN a windfall tax on oil executives!
Now is the time for the PRUDENT Presidential candidate to AGAIN remind Americans to CONSERVE, and of the NEED FOR AN EFFECTIVE ENERGY POLICY!
SUPPLY OF OIL IS LOW!
So prices WILL go up even more if we do not conserve!

Senator Obama plays the average voter for a fool and unfortunately, he is right. He will say and do anything to get their support and it is working on stupid people.
Do you really want someone who is flattered that a terrorist group supports him to be your next president. Who would he shoot at in case of another war?

Getahun Leta, You keep posting what semms to be Clinton campaign newsletters? As an Independent voter I would like to ask you some questions:
Why should I vote for someone who I simply have no faith in telling me the truth?
Why would I trust anyone who would turn on their friends in a heartbeat to further their political objective?
Why would I trust someone who has adopted the campaign tactics of the Republican right-wing conspiracy that was supposedly was used to persecute them?
Why should I trust that someone immersed in the dirty politics that exist today will change the politcal dialogue in Washington?
Why would I vote for someone who as first lady with her husband was involved in scandal after scandal before and during her husband's term?
Why should I believe that she and her husband have now changed and I should put my trust in them by voting for them?
Why should I believe that the Clintons are concerned about American workers when it was their policies that began shipping jobs overseas and importing foreign workers to take American jobs?
And just so you know....I voted for Bill 1992 and 1996. However, there is a saying that goes "fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". Convince me as to why I should be a fool a third time. And don't just give me standard campaign rhetoric that is so meaningless. And don't start telling me about experience and how Obama is also untrustworthy. I want to know why I should vote for Hillary not why I should vote against someone else.

Hillary is running for "panderer in chief" that's why.
