Does This Mean No Vice President Clinton?
June 16, 2008 1:53 PM
The Obama campaign announces Patti Solis Doyle will be Chief of Staff to the Vice Presidential Nominee. Solis Doyle, Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, was last in the news when Sen. Clinton showed her the door back in February. The New York Times asks if this means "Obama is really considering Mrs. Clinton for the No. 2 position, and wants to have an ally of her in place to ease the way? Perhaps."
I would argue the opposite. Clinton and she parted ways in February. If anything this appointment could be seen as questioning Clinton's judgment for having fired her.
Another interesting addition: Stephanie Cutter -- who, as the communications director for the erstwhile campaign of Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., in 2004, knows from spouses getting unwanted headlines -- will serve as Senior Advisor to the Campaign and Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama.

I will be with Hillary all the way but I will be with the Democratic party only and only if Hillary is on the ticket. If Hillary is not on the ticket as VP, I will close my eyes and ears and stay away from the general election. Our family might even consider an overseas trip in November.

I would love to see Hillary as VP. When someone calls and asks for the President I'm sure Bill, Hillary and Obama would all answer (parallel to Three Stooges). Then Bill and Hilliary could send Obama on harmless trips around the world.

Just because obama hires Patty Solis Doyle, DOESN'T mean that that is going to get him any of Hillary's supporters to "soften and throw their support his way". If that is obama's objective by hiring Solis Doyle for his campaign, then obama is even less intelligent and more naive than I think he is.....
It sure can't be that Solis Doyle would be a tremendous asset to his campaign--Solis Doyle didn't do such a hot job in her position in Hillary's campaign----that'w why she was let go by Hillary's side.
I would tend to surmise that obama wants to continue to try to "morph himself" like Senator Clinton----at the start of the campaign some almost 2 years ago, Senator Clinton had clearly spelled out her plans and solutions for America's problems. Then, lo and behold, as each debate between Clinton and obama went by, obama started echoing Senator Clinton's ideas and solutions to fix America's problems. Soon, he sounded just like her. Yikes. Now he is hiring her fired staff. For WHAT? More ideas and information on how to try to further convince Hillary supporters to come to his side and vote him in as President? .......ain't gonna happen, friends.....

How many senior advisors do you need? This is what we can expect if BHO ever becomes Pres. Overstaffing, huge expenses and tons of taxes. Way to go! As for him hiring Clinton's ex-chief of staff....I would think that whoever the VP is that they would hire their own. How controlling is this.....As for why...this woman is the wire of a man who is and has been on Obama's campaign since the start. I give Hillary credit for keeping her that long. Conflict of interest and tons of pillow talk! The woman should have stepped down herself.
Can't wait to vote McCain.

it is a moot point, i will be glad when this story line has died down.
sen. clinton can continue to do her good work, and can get more good work done for the people of this country,
she does not need obama, and he does not need her.
sen. clinton will be able to do more good work in the pvt.sector than michelle obama will be able to do as first lady.
sen. clinton does not want or need to be the vp.her good work will continue

again sen. clinton does not want to be obama; vp. period

Smart? This is America; you can vote for the nominee of your choice:
You can vote for the one who can't wait to nominate Supreme Court Justices who will overthrow Roe v. Wade;
You can vote for the one who voted AGAINST equal pay for women;
You can vote for the one who voted against health care for women as being too expensive.
You can vote for the one who helped give up the Iraq war.
You can vote for the one who can't wait to "Bomb, Bomb, Bomg" Iran.
YES YOU CAN!

I say anyone that wants to vote for John McCain please vote for him. You'll get the same war, the same economy, the same healthcare and all the other wonderful things George Bush has given us for the last 7 and a half years. Need I forget "four dollar" a gallon gasoline.

I can hear Hillary now:
"I COULD'A BEEN A CONTENDAH!"
Posted by: rhbate | Jun 17, 2008 7:14:42 PM
same here,
I am with sen. clinton all the way,
right up to when she ask me to support obama.
she may need to encourage her supporters to vote for him.
but i will not do it.
and she still has my support.

Based on evidance, I believe Obama has no substance as a nominee. If the American people continue to wake up to this, he will NOT win the GE.
I support Hillary Clinton for president in 2008 and I wouldn't like to see her have anything to do with the Obama camp, i.e. the VP position.
However, if Senator Clinton continues to praise and support Barack Obama, I will start to doubt her judgment and her credibility. And then where do I go?

an a Jamiacan reading all your posting and it is astonishing that a First World country like yours can make such stupid mistakes your economy is in a pickle, folks are loosing their homes, kid are being killed in an illegal war and folks are here advocating for John Mcain to win it beyond me. Leave that to persons who are from third world countries who are less educated and poverty stricken, what new leadership can you get form a 71 year old who has been a part of the system for more than two decade.

sen. clinton does not want to be obama' vp.
and even if psd told him everything sen clinton knows, unless it is written down for him, sen. clinton will need to comeback and tell it to the people for him.
again sen. clinton does not want to be obama; vp. period

" I agree with Sen Clinton" so he hires a person who can feed him all of Hillary's ideas.
No Hillary no Obama!

The only reason he wants Hillary's ideas is so he'll know what not to do. He doesn't want to run a failed campaign like she did.

Everyone steps around Obama because they are afraid to speak up and be called a racist. The media did the same thing through out the whole campaign.
He is a man running for president, I don't care if he is black, purple, green or blue. If he doesn something wrong, call him on it. They did it to Hillary the whole time so why not Obama?
Guess the media was afraid of being sued.

Of course he had to pick Hillary's spokeperson - he didn't have a thought of his own during the debates " I agree with Sen Clinton" so he hires a person who can feed him all of Hillary's ideas.
No Hillary no Obama!

I believe as many do that the appointment of Solis-Doyle signaled that Clinton will not be the VP. And that's fine. The choice is Obama's as the nominee. But to appoint the VP's chief of staff before the VP is bizarre. And to appoint a top level Clinton staffer who left because she did such a poor job is also bizarre.
Can only be seen as Obama going far out of his way to stick it to Hillary. Puzzling move when you are trying to unify the party behind you.

The Obamans must be desperate indeed, to play the Algore card.

-----------------------------------
Desperate indeed, as well they should be.
The women of this country are fed up with the machine that spits out spoiled, lazy boys to run amuck in our government.
Time to slap them up the side of the head and and vote the woman as a mark of HISTORY and write in Hillary on your ballot. That means millions of NO votes to Johnny and Barry!!
NEVER OBAMA!

JULMUD:
"Why would any person who really loves this country vote for John McCain. This man is unstable, hates our mothers, loves war, and is unwilling to tell the American people the truth, just to begin with"
YOU GET THE AWARD FOR BIASED CREATIVE
WRITING FOR TODAY!
Did you ever think people might vote for McCain because he epitomizes patriotism and has been an effective member of congress for over two decades?
From whence cometh your lack of facts?
Has Obama written still another semi-factual book?
He hates Mothers, and loves War?
Aside from being slanderous and untrue,
that's outrageously stupid.
Vote for whomever you want..... but cut the lies!
As for me, it's
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY!!!

Orlando B from..
Coincidently, I'm back.
Thanks for assuming that I'm a nice person.
But unfortunately, I still don't agree with you.
Nobody 100% perfect in this world.
Hillary is a politician but as you said the good role model is a good parents not a politician.
To me and to most of people think she raises Chelsea very good.
I even admire her for that.
You don't like her sniper issue, I agree about that.
Actually there was a dangerous battle ground at that time and they transfered her to the other airport.
She got mixed up.
BTW,whom are comparing her to?
If you compare her to Obama. Obama also lied about his parents met and about his uncle story also.
He did take drugs. I guess that is not a good role model for your kids.
As I told you there is not 100 % perfect as a human and as a politician.
