Does This Mean No Vice President Clinton?

June 16, 2008 1:53 PM

The Obama campaign announces Patti Solis Doyle will be Chief of Staff to the Vice Presidential Nominee. Solis Doyle, Sen. Hillary Clinton's campaign manager, was last in the news when Sen. Clinton showed her the door back in February. The New York Times asks if this means "Obama is really considering Mrs. Clinton for the No. 2 position, and wants to have an ally of her in place to ease the way? Perhaps."

I would argue the opposite. Clinton and she parted ways in February. If anything this appointment could be seen as questioning Clinton's judgment for having fired her.

Another interesting addition: Stephanie Cutter -- who, as the communications director for the erstwhile campaign of Sen. John Kerry, D-Mass., in 2004, knows from spouses getting unwanted headlines -- will serve as Senior Advisor to the Campaign and Chief of Staff to Michelle Obama.

Catleya, Whith all do respect! If you read my whole post, you would have seen that I never questioned what Hillary Clintons role with women around the world has been but I will say it's very hard to take her serious sometime when she tells the world that she was shot at by snipers and then admits that she lied or the whole peace deal in Iraland which she took a great deal of credit for, that also turned out to be a bit of a stretch. My point with this post is that whatever great things she might have or might not have done for women has been cheepend by her own doing and know one else. In my opinion Hillary Clinton is no role modle to women and certainly not to my two young daughters and son. That's the whole problem these days we want to justiy bad behavior and sale our souls for a win or a little money etc because it feels good for the moment but long term you pay a bigger price and the price being paid is your selfrespect your character, is that the women Hillary Clinton you want your kids to say is their role modle? I dont! We need to reach that moral high ground and stop selling out our morals to what we know in are minds and hearts is wrong. I teach my two girls and my son to work hard and to treat people how they would like to be treated and that will gain you the respect and a internal happiness that you will always be proud of, if you live by that, then you will not have to lie our stretch the truth. Some of us adults could use a little teaching in this area. I'm sure your a very nice person and I mean no disrespect but Hillary is not the right women for the job! Maybe it might be my daughter or yours if you have one that will be the right women for the job. My daughter talks about being president all the time and she is only six, she likes the idea of being the boss and riding around in Limos LOL. The goals she reaches for have nothing to do with Obama our Hillary it's me an her mother who tell her she and my other kids can be anything they want to be with out lieing and cheating if their willing to work hard and play by roles it will pay off. I must also say that my children are all honor roll students, my preschooler is gonna be skiping the first grade and go into the secound and I am very proud of her.She will be the next president of the united states atleast thats what she has told me. My oldest daughter is 12 and this my softball girl and she to has worked hard to be a big time picher. The real romodles are the parents not the politicians.

Why is it that people who love America should not vote for an American hero who laid his life on the line and then some in enemies' prison? Why should they who love America put in the WH a couple whose associations featured so many America-haters for so many years?

What is the matter with so of you? You can tell the uneducated people by the ignorance they display in there posts. Why would any person who really loves this country vote for John McCain. This man is unstable, hates our mothers, loves war, and is unwilling to tell the American people the truth, just to begin with. I don't think that we will have for a long time to come the opportunity we have with Obama. If Obama looses, America will suffer greatly in so many ways. Not only will we have John McCain for our president, we will have God as our enemy. This is America's trial, not Obama's.

irma,
obama won't pick,
sen clinton does not want to be vp

I don’t believe that in the end Obama won’t pick Hillary for VP. For one, we all know this race was extremely close. Obama received more delegates and Hillary won crucial GE states with a slight lead in popular vote. That is a draw. You can argue rules or whatever, but it’s a draw to the majority of us. The majority of us find the “Dream Ticket” appealing. Once they are together, Obama will fulfill the title of “Uniter” and Hillary will continue to persevere as a “Fighter”, with both making history. A huge portion of us will insure a strong lead win in the General Election and the motivators, workers, open-minded, better world seeking people are obviously ready to cooperate in a new era . I think Obama will do the right thing and make Hillary VP. Let’s get together and get to work on the Renaissance of America. Let’s heal the wounds on us and the world.

The fact is, Patty Solis Doyle was ready to leave the campaign and on good relations with Hillary. It's the media that tried to turn it into some sort of soap opera symbol. Doyle continued to be a Clinton supporter, they go way back. All this speculation is just silly.

I support Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Al Gore, and the Democratic Party. Irregardless of what any of you think, we will prevail in 2008 and the world will soon be a much better place to live. It cannot get any worse.

"keep on blah-blah-blahing as you pay nearly $5.00 a gallon for gas and keep seeing our people getting killed overseas for NOTHING."

The One says he's okay with the price of gas going up.

And his groveling to AIPAC, and voting for every Iraq funding bill, and back-pedalling on his supposed anti-war views, suggests he's okay with the U.S. continuing to pay for perma-war in the mideast.

"Not yet.........but he will be!!"

And I will be Queen of Rumania.

If you guys would THINK in a logical manner, you would see that Obama is the BEST CHANCE WE HAVE of recovering OUR DIGNITY as a country, OUR ECONOMIC STABILITY (although it will take a while to clean up the MESSES G. Bush made), and our sense of peace and SECURITY. I am in awe of how many people actually believe that they are INTELLIGENT when they downgrade our best chance for a better country. You LIKE the way things are now? You LIKE the changes G. Bush made? Yikes! Criminy Cricket, keep on blah-blah-blahing as you pay nearly $5.00 a gallon for gas and keep seeing our people getting killed overseas for NOTHING.

Wow!

In just one move, Obama sends a strong message to (1) Hillary Clinton, (2) women, and (3) Latinos.

The marginalization of Hillary "Enemies List" Clinton has begun.

Yep, Gore got pretty screwed by the Clintons. Saw Meet the Press clips over the weekend of him defending Whitewater, Lewinsky, Hillary's healthcare snub. No wonder Al and Tipper no longer speak to the Clintons - don't you think they would've stepped for Hillary from the get go?

Posted by: Pembleton | Jun 16, 2008 8:07:21 PM

Truth be known...there's a hair's worth of difference between the two parties.(really we NEED Ralph) If we want balance in government and want to avoid the power grabs like we saw in the late eighties with the dems...like it or not the dems did the very same thing the rebublicans have done in the recent years with the Bush administration. We need to vote for McCain and vote dem for senate and congress. The only real difference in the parties is the "religious wrong"..and a balance in the government would keep them in check.

American10,
"I KNOW THIS ABOUT OBAMA "HE DID NOT SUPPORT THE IRAQ WAR",

When Obama opposed it...it didn't matter. He was a STATE senator, not a US senator. Big difference.

"He is
the Democratic nominee.

And he will be elected POTUS
in November."

No he isn't, and no he won't.

Posted by: Mama Knows Better | Jun 16, 2008 7:21:18 PM

Too many posts on these
message boards say that
Obama has not authored
major bills or that his
resume is thin.

He had been preparing to run
for POTUS. He has done very
well. He pulled the plug on
the Clinton machine. He is
the Democratic nominee.

And he will be elected POTUS
in November.

A smart person. Takes one to
know one.

Clinton spokesperson

Patti will be an asset and good addition to the Obama campaign. After nearly two decades in political life, she brings with her the ability to tap an extensive network that will be a huge asset to Senator Obama. As Senator Clinton has said, we’re all going to do our part to help elect Senator Obama as the next President of the United States," said spokesman Mo Elleithee.
