Hill Back on the Hill
June 24, 2008 2:19 PM
So Bill Clinton has announced he will back Barack Obama as his wife, Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, returns to Capitol Hill.
Across the Capitol, House Speaker Nancy Pelosi, D-Calif., today said that women "are wildly enthusiastic about her candidacy. Not just a woman but this woman, this talent, this intellect, stamina. I think her candidacy was a bright, bright moment for us and she may run again."
If you haven't read it already, check out New York Magazine's "The Fall and Rise of Hillary Clinton: What She Won By Losing" by John Heilemann.

Power is addictive to politicians. One dose and she/he is hooked. Senator Clinton could have walked away with honor. Instead, she is staying with a party that deserted her during the primary. It's very sad.

They stabbed Hillary in the back during the nomination fight. Now, they need the votes.
They tried to tag Hillary and Bill as racist.
I know scores of democrats who will be voting for McCain.
The mainstream media is willing to close their eyes and not question Obama about his past associations and flip-flops.
It will be left to the rest of us to educate one person at a time about Mr. Obama's character.

I suspect this is a sign that the Clintons think Obama isn't gonna be elected. A show of solidarity while they see the writing on the wall. He's surging now - perhaps peaking. They toe the party line now and bide their time til 2012. Anyone know the story of Bill losing the race for AR governor in the late 70's (after his first term)? He was heads-down prepping for his next shot.
Pelosi probably senses the end of Obama-hysteria. The media and DNC frenzy to bash HRC was so great, folks didn't realize what was going on. When the dust settled and they started wiping the blood from their chins, they realized they inadvertently backed the wrong horse.
Worse yet, there may be something coming on the beloved BO. It's like a monthly thing with bad news about his background. The dems hope the next shoe isn't too big. Or, if it is, that it happens before the convention. Hannity and the Right Wing have been extraordinarily quiet. I suspect they're waiting til after the convention.

Molly, Thank you.
I hope there is a concerted effort to see that Pelosi doesn't get re-elected - and Harry Reid too. What the two of them have done to our party is destroy it. I will hold my nose and vote for McCain.

I am sick to my stomach about the way Obama abused Hillary, and how he got the party elders to help. Now they are marching her out like a war criminal to push their propaganda. Just disgusting..

ADD - yeah I see your problem. You think Clinton has a bigger problem than Obama? Seems she garnered practically the same # of votes as Sir Obama.
For every HRC vote in the primaries, Obama got a vote. For every HRC supporter, Obama will see 1/2 a vote in the GE. HRC supporter does not = lemming...does not = Obamabot...does not = blind democrat.

Miss Nancy - WHERE was all this support last month??? YOU were first in line with your party leaders to push Hillary out, You were Silent to the constant bashing of Hillary by the media & obama group. Do NOT come to unite the party now - we do not care about the party - only our country. The DNC have picked the Weak guy - who will never win.
McCain - 2nd Choice.

everyone be sure to read the article in the new york mag. jake has referenced, it is a balanced articles, and sen.clinton looks great in the pictures.

If you really want Hillary back at 2012, you must vote for McCain....if you write in Hillary---Obama will steal your vote again.
Posted by: carpenter.nyc | Jun 24, 2008 4:19:08 PM
also,
you cannot just write sen. clinton' name in without sen. clinton having reg. in the state she is availabe to be a write in candidate. so the write in stuff is probally all just heated talk.
find out your states laws.
Posted by: jgaw | Jun 24, 2008 4:14:25 PM
Those who are threating to write Hillary on the ballot, should think twice. Voting laws are different in different states. Please check with your local SOS about what is acceptable in your state. Writing Hillary on the ballot may in some states mean a VOTE FOR OBAMA. Now if you are serious about not voting for Obama, please check with your local Secretary of State and confirm how you can go about this. You may just want ot sit this one if you do not want to vote for McCain.
All Best,

43,000,000 Lies and still going.
THAT IS FORTY-THREE MILLION LIES

Why the concern about Clinton all of a sudden? Her voters aren't stupid. Obama is on his own now.
Posted by: geevill | Jun 24, 2008 4:02:56 PM
John McCain,
Of 18,000,000 votes for Hillary, 40% of the votes will be yours! Please start counting them now!
Posted by: Sandy | Jun 24, 2008 4:02:46 PM
Sorry Hillary, you have my vote but NOT OBAMA!

_____
Yes, Obama had a lot to do with the shift of Bill Clinton in the public eye
from the affectionate title of "first Black President"... to a racist!
bur B O is "a Uniter.... not a divider".
Didn't we hear those very words uttered by Bush in a couple of HIS campaigns!
Be careful who you vote for.
Be very V E R Y careful!
COUNTRY BEFORE PARTY!!!!
