Quinnipiac: Obama Ahead in Four Key Battlegrounds

June 26, 2008 10:16 AM

Far more important than the national polls in this race for 270 electoral votes are the credible state-by-state polls. And new Quinnipiac/Wall Street Journal/Washingtonpost.com polls out today show Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, with a lead over Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., in four key states:

COLORADO: Obama 49 - McCain 44
MICHIGAN: Obama 48 - McCain 42
MINNESOTA: Obama 54 - McCain 37
WISCONSIN: Obama 52 - McCain 39

Also key -- Obama leads by eight to 21 percentage points among independent voters in each state.

COLORADO: 51 – 39 percent among independent voters;
MICHIGAN: 46 – 38 percent among independents;
MINNESOTA: 54 – 33 percent with independents;
WISCONSIN: 50 – 37 percent with independents.

Read more about the polling information HERE.

But pride goeth before a fall, Mr. Obama.

Warns Peter A. Brown, assistant director of the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute: "Sen. Obama should not be picking out the drapes for the Oval Office just yet.  His lead nationally, and double digits in some key states, is not hugely different from where Sen. John Kerry stood four years ago at this point in the campaign."

Consider this as a reason for becoming an American Hero.

What military service does McCain TRULY have other than being a POW for 7 years?

You place 894th in your military graduation class out of 899 after coming out of a military family? DUMB OR DUMBER?

You have to do remedial flight training even though your Dad is a 30 year Admiral with wings. NOT ACTUALLY A CHIP OFF THE OLE BLOCK IS HE???

You leave your first wife who stood by you while you were a POW and when she becomes disabled, you leave her for a rich meth and coke addict. He’d better hope that Obama doesn’t embarrass him and his meth addicted CINDY. LESS THAN HONORABLE, I WOULD SAY

Doesn't know the diff between Sunnis and Shiites after visiting Iraq 7 times? SENIOR MOMENT or just PLAIN STUPID?

Doesn't know the diff between pre surge and current numbers of troops in Iraq after visiting Iraq 7 times? ANOTHER SENIOR MOMENT or is STUPIDITY A GOOD CALL?

Doesn't know where his buttermilk is? TIME FOR A DEPENDS CHANGE

THIS IS YOUR JOHN WAYNE?

BLOWOUT MY FRIENDS

There are 14 members in my bridge club and not one will be voting for Obama. Think Obama supporter are over-stating the support for the Possum.
Money can buy anything except honesty and intergity.

All Obama supporters are blind to what Obama really wants. Right now he is just telling the foolish Liberals what the like to here. Obama is flattering them

Nat Turner. Who cares if you don't believe in the Bible or GOD.

God has the last word. He will destroy and lay to waste country's that turn away from him and do things such as gays and Abortion. This country's days are numbered and Democrats will accelerate it into doom faster.

After reading all the previous comments, I have come to one conclusion: the Obama supporters are really ignorant about what Obama wants to do. He will raise the capital gains tax to 30% - that means anyone in the middle class who sells their home will have to pay a 30% capital gains tax (instead of the current 15%) - anyone selling stock will have to pay 30% capital gains tax (that includes many people in the middle class), etc. Get my point? Wake up, America! Obama is nothing more than a far left socialist - if you think the economy is bad now, wait for the Obama Presidency (God help us) - Obama will take this country into a deep recession - this is not the time to raise taxes; it is the time to cut taxes! Not to mention his lame foreign policy. Obama is just too inexperienced and naive and so are the Obama supporters - Democrats better wake up and smell the coffee!!! Obama is just wrong for our country.

LMAO, the daily kos kiddies, are out in force today, left wing Blame everything on America, ABC, will publish anything to make obamie look good. The latest Gallup poll which is more accurate than any, Has It TIED. now go sit in the corner and eat your buggers and let grownups handle the voting

With Colin Powell and Senator Hagel soon to endorse Obama, McCain really looks pathetic.

An emerging Democratic coalition of women, minorities and younger voters is propelling Illinois Sen. Barack Obama to leads of five to 17 percentage points over Arizona Sen. John McCain among likely voters in the battleground states of Colorado, Michigan, Minnesota and Wisconsin.

We haven't even had the first debate yet.

MY FRIENDS, CAN YOU SAY BLOWOUT!

So this isn't new ethier. Old geezer or a young smart man. Looks like it isn't a compition. Once we get Hillary squared away and they start bringing us together its just going to get worse for Mccain.

Your said it INDY!!!!! I am a Clinton Supporter, but above all a democrat. In 2008 I will vote for my party, I will vote for Obama. My prayers are with him and his family, as well as Senator Clinton, Senator Kennedy and the Democratic's on Capitol Hill.

Posted by: Joan | Jun 26, 2008 12:15:07 PM

I SAY AGAIN.

Three things will happen to McCain during his "experience" in the GE.

Exposed

Embarrassed

Eradicated

Man, this is going to be an utter crushing of McCan't and all cynics who incessantly whine about what Obama can't and won't do.

YOU KEEP WHINING. WE'LL KEEP WINNING.

See you at the inaguration SWEETIES!

2005 Meet the Press Interview:

TIM RUSSERT: The fact is you are different than George Bush.

SEN. McCAIN: No. No. The fact is that I have agreed with President Bush far more than I have disagreed. And on the transcendent issues, the most important issues of our day, I’ve been totally in agreement and support of President Bush.

"STRAIGHT TALK EXPRESS" EXPLIANS WHY PEOPLE WON'T VOTE FOR HIM. MR MAVERICK HAS BECOME MR BUSH.

Posted by: All about McSAME | Jun 26, 2008 12:09:17 PM

to blindly vote for your party's candidate is to be a neo-conservative, they who have supported the slow destruction of the United States these last few years

Posted by: chris | Jun 26, 2008 12:08:48 PM

how can we trust the judgment of a candidate for the most powerful political office if he is ignorant enough to take his own name off of a ballot in a state that could reasonably be potentially important in both the primary and general elections?

Posted by: chris | Jun 26, 2008 12:06:59 PM

All I can say that my in-laws are in their 70s and 80s. One is a Navy vet from WWII.

With the rise of Obama they have been saying "I voted Democratic all my life and I don't know what to do."

Well, John talking about NAFTA to Canada changed their minds--"Why doesn't he come here and say that" is what my wife heard on a visit last week.

Posted by: Mr. Coffee | Jun 26, 2008 12:05:48 PM

If they are internet polls they do not count.

Obama has insite a list of daily polls which is clickable for his followers to vote in.

One of his followers said emptying cookies he can vote more than once.
Another said if he uses proxies he can vote as many times as he wants.

So Obama Numbers are and most likly by fraud voting. Padding the results.

If it is a national phone poll it would be more credible.

Posted by: Sharon | Jun 26, 2008 12:05:22 PM

Hey angie every white person that is a democrat that i talk to is going to vote for McCain. No poll can tell you that. Obama is going to lose in a landslide.

Posted by: inmo | Jun 26, 2008 11:58:47 AM
