Things to Do in Denver When You're Dead

June 07, 2008 12:37 PM

Sen. Hillary Clinton is planning on "suspending" her campaign today, not closing it.

There's a lot of buzz in Democratic circles about what this means, since there's a lot of buzz that Clinton has floated the idea to friends that she wants a roll call vote of her delegates at the convention, supposedly for Chelsea's sake.

There's a lot of pushback to that idea, as you might imagine.

Suspending the campaign as opposed to shuttering it, though, will allow her to try to retire her more than $30 million in debt (if you include the at least $11.5 million she and Bill Clinton lent her campaign).

It doesn't really mean much in terms of this "What if it turns out Barack Obama is really a cyborg" fatalism. Whether or not her campaign has been suspended, she would have a rightful claim to the nomination if Obama self-immolated and the party suddenly needed a sub.

If God wants Obama to be President... He will be President !!! No matter what those
few people do that say they will vote for McCain or write-in Clinton's name... When Obama wins, let them argue with and cuss-out God... Because I am almost certain they will do it....

Lots of Republicans here posing as pretend Clinton supporters. The spin you spew doesn't work folks. Obama has energized REAL people into the change that America desires and requires. Hillary saw this as well and has wholeheartedly endorsed him. No more lobbyists trying to shell out favors for money. The econonmy, the war in Iraq, and change is what the people care about. McCain is on the wrong side of all of these issues. Americans in Iraq for 100 more years, according to McCain. He is also clueless on the economy. McCain is not qualified to run this country.

SJ,

You are absolutely right.
They all now worry about Obama can not get women, working class, elderly voters .
We've been heard this since he was the nominee.
I usually never watch MSNBC but today I was curious what they were going to say.
So, I watched them and I just couldn't believe what I heard.
Chris Matthew said can Hillary help Obama to get her supporters vote for him and tell them , Obama is 99.9% better than McCain.
They even asked Bill Clinton to campaign with Obama, the reason because Bill Clinton knows and has very good relation with all governors, politicians.

They said if Hillary can get him wins WV and KY just like he wins 50 states already.

Why this whole time they said Bill Clinton is racist .
Now, they need his help?
Why when Hillary won WV and KY the media did not even bother to make into a big news?

I wonder do they even have shames at all.

The DNC nominates a candidate that they know will split the party down the middle yet they did it anyway.

Now they are saying unite, well for god sakes did they not think that what persons were telling them would happed if they put Obama ahead was not going to?

Now people are telling them they will vote McCain I guess this is another statement that the DNC will feel they will overcome.

Where are all these AA voters, these new voters, these young people that would all be so upset if Hillary got the nod, all I am hearing not is I hope Hillary gets her people to vote for Obama, I hope Hillary goes to the states that she won and help him.

Why did they take such a gamble , why nominate the candidate that makes it harder for them to win, why put themselves in a position that if Hillary supporters don't buy into the Obama game they will lose.

Its not like they were not warned, I just cant understand how the top level people in the DNC could be so dam stupid

Barrack Hussein and Edwards campainged for uncommited voting in Michigen purposely. So all Hillary Dems can unite to put her name on Ballet in November and vote for her. Let's play Michigen on Obama.

It is amazing to me that at this time anyone with any concerns about our country /people would even consider a person with absolutely no experience in running anything but their mouth would be considered for the presidency. This is not a time for a novice to learn as they go.You and our country needs someone to take control .No aprentices please.

Oldgaman,
I'm planning to write Hillary Clinton in as President in November. Who do you suggest for Vice President? I'm considering Obama but I still haven't figured out if he's qualified. He still seems like an empty suit guy to me.

If you are not voting for Obama, don't vote for McCain. WRITE IN "CLINTON".
We can still put her in.

The news media will blame Hillary with what ever bad happens to Obama. They have sold their souls to him. In this Country it is hard to win anything if the new media isn't with you. They stay up day and night thinking up ways to discredit you or jump at a chance to start a lie about you or just really enjoy calling a female names. I think America would be much better off if all the news networks fired all their people and start all over with new people and fire anyone who isn't objective in their reporting. I use to love listening to the news; now I could care less if I ever hear another word of news from these stuffed up so call reporters, journalist, etc.

I think people should put Country before party. If they do, they for sure will not vote for Obama nor will they vote for anyone who has tried to push him down our throats. I have always been a democrat but I'm so disgusted with the whole lot of them. I can't be a republican but I can be an Independent.

People who say they wanted Hillary but will now vote for mc-more-war are either liars or just STUPID. Do a little research, read a little about the issues. Put your brain in gear before you open your mouth. mc-more-war is another bush term. Think abouth that when you're in the voting booth. Think about a war that was unnecessary, think about the 4000+ dead, and the many wounded. Think about the fathers that will never see their children again. Then say who should be president. And how do you like paying $4 a gallon? Obama 2008!!!

She did not concede.
She SUSPENDED...there is a difference.
We can read between the lines.
We are with Hillary if she chooses Independent, see the polls.
70% against nobama and anyone else for that matter.
If she chooses to run with McCain, good for her. Of if she sits it out, then fine, we go to McCain.
Hillcrat 4 McCain 08
Hillary 2012!!!!!!!!!!!!
The democrat party is sick and needs to be overhauled and that will happen in the next 2 years.

Today Hillary surrender to the
black radical party.......
She knows surrender IS VERY UN-AMERICAN.
She didn't do the right thing to fight
her case in Denver and later to declare
independence from the black party.
She deserves to lose........
Her surrender is very UN-AMERICAN.
AMERICANS NEVER SURRENDER.......

That is exactly she is the more experience still and classy dame!

RuthieM,

You asked too much!
This is not the inauguration day.
Isn't it enough she lost and she had to come out to endorse him, supports and asked her supporters to follow her to support Obama?
She mentioned, President Obama also.
Do you expect her to say President Barack Hussein Obama??

Think about if you were on her shoe and Obama on her position.

Posted by: catleya | Jun 7, 2008 7:00:16 PM

Oh..this title of the article is cruel.
Don't have compassion at all.

Posted by: catleya | Jun 7, 2008 6:54:50 PM

I have supported Obama from day one, and gnashed my teeth at many a comment by Hillary. BUT, the good things said about her are true, her concession speech was wonderful and I admire her guts. Just too bad she got painted with the same brush as Bill Clinton, who would be a disaster hanging around the WH, checking out all the skirts.

I think that Hillary ought to be given a good spot at the convention (maybe monday night, with her husband) and if there is a decent prominent Clinton supporter to be keynote speaker, why not through that is as well (Evan Bayh, if he isn't VP candidate??)

Whether or not the GOP trolls want to admit it or not, the Democratic Party will be united in 2008. Obama and Clinton just won't let it happen any other way. Its in neither of their interests to let it happen any other way. The party won't forget if it appears that Hillary lost Obama the election in November, but they won't forget it either if she does all she can to help Obama in November.

Anyone who says they are voting for mc-more-war because HIllary didn't make it is a LIAR. They are rush limbaugh listening idiots who would have voted for mc-more-war anyway. These people like to make noise but in the end won't really matter at all. A real Hillary supporter is smart enough to realize that Obama policies are very close to Hillary's and mc-more-war's are very different. Obama 2008!!!

Posted by: pt | Jun 7, 2008 4:29:12 PM

If obama loses, we can get Hillary the Dem nod in 2012! Join me in tolerating McCain for 4 short years so that we can get Hillary in the White House!
