Len, the problem is for Obama is the Europeans are not voting here. The American people are. I notice he is now hiding Michelle at home so she won't make any more of her comments. Smart man!!

"If the US media doesn't cover his trip, they will lose out on one of the biggest news stories in Europe this year."
The Europeans have been hanging the Americans out to dry for the last six years. They are the last non-voters we should be concerned with. We're electing a President, not the headliner at the Albert Hall.
And yes, it is time for the US Senate to hold hearings on the unbalanced coverage by the mainstream media holders of FCC licensing for the broadcast spectrum. This has gone way beyond being in the tank. This is the blatant disregard for the fairness doctrine by the major networks in an attempt to unduly influence a national election.

Please don't tell me the people in Europe will be fooled by Obama too.
Just what he needs to increase his already huge ego.
Posted by: riley | Jul 18, 2008 12:10:58 PM
Obama's arrival in Europe will be huge news there. I have friends in London that plan on attending his speech there and friends from Denmark that plan to travel to Paris to see him there. If the US media doesn't cover his trip, they will lose out on one of the biggest news stories in Europe this year.
McCain just doesn't garner the kind of excitement that Obama does.

Come on people! Wake up!
Obama's tour is the beginning of his campaign for UN Secretary General. Haven't you noticed how quickly he gets bored of an office once he's there? On second thoughts, he's not the President yet, I got fooled by that pretty 'Obamaseal'.

Obama ought not push hisluck with McCain.
McCain is a Patriot.
Obama is risky and radical.
Too many oddball friends and mentors.
Obama is not only risky, he's dangerous from his ignorance.
The media ought to keep demonstrating how risky this man is rather than braga about a man that mentored with Farrrkhan and Rev. Wright.

The commenter is right that we can't blame Obama if the media decides to accompany him.
On the other hand, when three anchors go the perception that concentrated ownership of media is having a negative effect on the US elections is pronounced. It is time for the US Senate to hold hearings on possible violations of Section 315 of the Federal Communications Act.

"In Obama we finally have a leader who's not afraid of the rest of the world!"
He's no "leader", he's a placeholder.
In Obama, we have a guy who's desperate to get out of town.

"The MSM tries their best to paint Obama as the "president"."
Europe AND the mideast: first he can talk about going, then about HAVING gone. In between, a lot of airplanes and stage management.
It's like that stupid seal.

JUST REMEMBER GANG WHAT THE LAST 8 YEARS HAVE BEEN LIKE---WE HAVE BEEN SOLD OUT TO FOREIGN COUNTRYS AND BIG BUSINESS---OUR WEALTH IS GONE---OUR JOBS ARE GONE--OUR MILITARY IS NOT WHAT IT SHOULD BE---IF YOU THINK FOR A MINUTE THAT MCCAIN WOULD BE ANY DIFFERENT--REMEMBER THAT HE IS FROM THE SAME O-L-D SCHOOL OF THOUGHT.
Posted by: rodney | Jul 18, 2008 9:06:27 AM
mccain and the rest of washington dinosaures should be put out to pasture.
alzhimers is a fact of life.mccain went to columbia to sell us out with a nafta big business type deal----i suppose china is next--oh i forgot we borrow money from china now. what a bunch of losers.and we pay for it.

OBAMA WANTS TALKS WITH IRAN----repubs make fun of him--and guess what the repubs are doing------obama must be acting pres. as they are copying him----must be nice for the parrots.

Listen folks.....I agree that the media does seem to be supporting Obama more than McCain and making a big deal out of anything that Barack does. But, somebody explain to me how this is Obama's fault.
If you don't support the man, fine, but blaming him for what the media does is a very weak argrment.

i wonder how SUPER PARROT MCSHAME WILL TOP THIS ONE.

that should have read
Don't low-rate the hollywood actors.
anyway-obama is a humbug indeed!
HUMBUG!
Posted by: the patriot | Jul 18, 2008 7:56:40 AM
seah,
Please low-rate the hollywood actors, by saying obama is one of them.
How many Hollywood actors do you know of that can keep flubbing their lines, and still be in front of a camera?
if obama had been a hollywood actor, he would have been fired a long time ago.

No Truer words ever spoken.
"The world is Obama's Stage"
He is one of the Greatest actors of our time.
Of Course Mr Obama owes the world. He has used people from other nations to campaign for him. He has used other country citizens to make phone calls and collect money for his campaign.
He did tell his followers He is out to save the world. So I am sure he will be campaigning in each country he visit.
Rather odd, and dangerous for a jr Senator to visit other nations and presume he has the right to campaign
in those countries.
He will and continue to make fools out of the USA and himself. Probably Anger a few nations. While using his mind conditioning on their people, as he has done here.
Me Obama is just a Hollywood showman, marketing himself off as a Politcan.
His marketing team with his PR team and a nice speech, actually have people believing it. He should win an oscar, a emmy, a grammy and every award possible for his acting. He and his team have pulled it off so well.
I hope he does not do to much damage on his travels. I hope the other nations realize, he is just a Jr Senator right now, and not our leader or anything.
God Bless America, We are gonna need it.
Posted by: seah | Jul 18, 2008 7:26:36 AM
It's amazing that the United States is so immature when it comes to politics. The rest of the world has grown up, yet we struggle to get past a 4th grade mentality.
Perhaps that's why we get the caliber of candidate we do. The truly best people wouldn't put themselves through this.
Some day we'll figure out how to get a better world. Then we'll look at a candidate differently.
Until then, we'll continue to act like kids and discuss the color of shoe laces, while the rest of the world continues to prosper and advance.

Mr. Obama's doing anything for himself with the donors' money.

With the "MEDIA ELITES" now part of his tour and fact finding trip. The seeds of Obama's Waterloo have been sowed.

The US propaganda is playing on the stage. The MSM tries their best to paint Obama as the "president".
Posted by: amy | Jul 18, 2008 2:52:45 AM
So let me get this straight: Obama travels to a few places for a week, and that gives him foreign policy credentials to be Prez? Heck, I've been to more countries than he has, I could be President too! Chancellor Merkel is not about to let a not-even-nominee yet take the stage in Germany. Obama will embarass this country, why are we even allowing him to do this, he doesn't represent the USA at all! And why, oh why, is the media following him like little puppets? Why are ALL three news anchors going with him? Did any of you go with McCain on his world travels? Your unhealthly love for him makes me sick, what makes him so special???

What the heck? For real this is truly a victory lap before the actual race. Stupid waste of my donation. How do I get back my donation? Seriously , I want my money back.

This trip paid for by taxpayer's money is a PR and photo trip. Senator Obama has already stated his position on the Iraq War and his plans to bring it to an end. Why should he speak to the German people; they can not vote for him. Waste of tax money.

hey koolaid drinkers please tell me what the prcious ment when he said in colorado that he wanted a civilian security force equal to the us military, please dont tell me he did not say it as ive heard it from his own mouth,of course the transcript been scrubbed but the tape hasnt.sounds to me like his own verision of a secret police force.

Lynn, there is nothing vacuous about supporting the better candidate.
The rest of the world knows that too which is why the press abroad is eagerly anticipating his arrival. Germans are said to be amongst Obama's greatest international supporters right now.

I am sick already of hearing about Obama's trip . . . especially the part about the fawning media accompanying him. Our political process has all the sincerity and intelligence of "American Idol". The real shame is that we have to show the rest of the world just how vacuous we really are.
Posted by: Lynn | Jul 17, 2008 10:26:34 PM
As an American living and working in Malaysia, I am disappointed at Obama for not having a single tour stop in Asia; a continent that is becoming every more important in today's world.
Besides, people are really enthusiastic about his candidacy here...guess he already has all the media attention he needs.
Posted by: Carla | Jul 17, 2008 10:25:54 PM
this must be kool aid sipping time for the obama supporters.
i understand they have black velvet picture that that turn black lights on lay down on cushions and start the kool aid.

that began with a mystical hand
hip hooray, the american way
the world is obama' stage for
entertainment
Posted by: the patriot | Jul 17, 2008 9:56:02 PM
Why should obama be able to do a victory lap around the world, before he has won.
I hope the majority of unaffected americans will see through this, and be turned off by this sort of pagentry and not vote for him.
What will be a shame will be when he gets over there among all of those large crowds that he likes, where many of the people cannot understand what he is saying and he get up there to give his prepared, half memorized speech and starts
uhuhuh,and studdering and fumbling along.
Posted by: the patriot | Jul 17, 2008 9:45:44 PM
Now that he has that stage I hope the empty suit of a politician can think of something original to say, not something copied from Deval Patrick, or something spoon fed to him by Axelrod, but something that indicates he is capable of thinking by himself. I've only heard him stutter when he gets a surprise for which he doesn't have a spoon fed answer. Frankly, I doubt that he will change. He's more like a word processor than a poet. Same as Dukakis.

The media is sickening.

I am a democrat and even I think the media coverage of Obama's trip is unfair to Senator McCain. So much for the free press...
Posted by: rafraf | Jul 17, 2008 9:37:52 PM
I agree with you Ann, but when it comes to Obama, nobdy will listen. It is so sad. Obama is the presses' darling who can do no wrong. Everytime someone points facts out, somebody comes along to clean up his act. Let him win. Maybe the country needs to see. Chicago is a grand mess! Obama is everybody's man and everybody is his fool.

will the mode of transport around europe be chariot or donkey?

or will he be riding a donkey?

we are also aware of what happened with one of the local hospitals that his wife was on the board of.
turning away people. and charging them more than other inner city hosp. although the care was substandard.
It really makes no difference if he or mccain are in country or out. as far as the voters go. it is just window dressing.
this is a done deal. and obama and crew have bought and paid for him to be president. the voters and their votes this year is just a sham.
he will go into the white house a lame duck and will come out in four even lamer.
Posted by: the patriot | Jul 17, 2008 9:28:07 PM
McRove has neither the courage nor the vision for this kind of gesture.

Posted by: Snarxon | Jul 17, 2008 9:22:26 PM
Yes go to Iraq, Europe tour and take the focus off Chicago........
30 murders in one weekend this summer in Chicago. Will the National Guard be deployed to protect the citizens of Chicago? Does America want to elect a President that can’t even keep his own home city safe to run the entire country?
Obama’s new video (now playing) states that he reduced the welfare rolls in Illinois by 80%. This is a complete lie. Obama opposed the 1996 Welfare Reform Act. When questioned about his stance he was quoted as saying ““I’m not going to re-litigate what happened back in the 90s”. What Obama is taking credit for is the implementing law that the State was required to pass after the reform.
