Only in America :
The dangers American fighting men face
abroad, compared to the stab in the back
at home are what a pinprick is to a scimitar slash. The more undeflectable
for its coming from the quarter YOU ARE
PROTECTING [viz the movie 'Haditha'and
the HBO billboard sporting 'Generation
Kill']
Of course abroad they love the pinched- in & propped-up candidate, it cannot be otherwise judging by the filthmouthing
America is receiving over there.
America's enemies are cheering the prospect of participating in the final HALLALI.
Well done Americans, the foreigners are already suffraging for you.
Another reason for their rejoicing is a
certain impeachment debate going on right now in Congress. No doubt that hyperextensive use will be made of MM's
collage "documentaries" in building the
case for impeachment.
But again, the Final REAL Picture Is One Of BLAZING GLORY For AMERICA And American DEMOCRACY.
"There is no freedom if there is no
freedom for our enemies to criticize
us" Rosa Luxembourg

be apolitical but is
displaying a Republican

Troops are not a photo op
Again, Sen. Barack Obama reveals his true colors when he lied about what the Pentagon told him prior to his decision not to visit the wounded troops in Germany. Obama claimed that the Pentagon said that he should not go because it would be seen as a political event. The Pentagon verified that what they told Sen. Obama was that he could visit the troops but as a sitting Senator and not as part of a political event.
Instead, Sen. Obama decided to go to the hotel gym and work out and did not visit the wounded troops. In similar fashion, although Obama has been chairman for oversight of Afghanistan, to day Obama has not held one meeting. Because of Obama’s recent visit to Afghanistan, Obama believes that he fully knows what is best for the crucial area of responsibility (AOR) that his committee has oversight for. Now Obama believes that pulling 40,000 troops from Iraq and redeploying them to Afghanistan will some home be relief for what is already an over tasked military.
As one that deployed to Iraq and Afghanistan including twice during the same deployment, I can assure the Illinois senator, that the deployed days in Afghanistan are not different from those in Iraq. The only difference is the operational territory is mountainous. But the enemy is equally deadly in both countries. Obama should stay with bashing American’s in Germany and Europe versus trying to make anyone believe that he understands and is fully knowledgeable of what warfighters go through in combat. Obama should let Sen. John McCain teach him a few things in this area so that the nation will not live through another Bush outcome. Obama like Bush, both came from unaccredited universities reserved for wealthy Americans. Americans taught to become politicians and use our proud history as hype or referred to as “political jargon”.

Steven:
"His trip to Iraq was a Senate visit(which is why he visited with the troops, including a private moment at a military hospital)"....
You're not talking about THIS visit, are you?
The one where many soldiers were more than a tad perturbed that they got short shrift and the cold soldier from B O?
Was there ANOTHER visit to Iraq that was made by him... possibly as a shape shifter in the guise of Stewart Little?
And he actually visited the troops in hospitals?
WOW! Are we getting conflicting stories here!
The trip YOU describe... sounds like a senate trip..
The trip as described by "the media" is a horse of a different color.....
hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm.

Questioner, unless you are insisting that Obama fly back to America on his campaign plane, then fly back to Germany as part of a Congressional Delegation(and with his Senate Staff opposed to his Campaign Staff) and then go to the Military Base, you obviously don't understand the difference between a Senate visit and a campaign visit. His trip to Iraq was a Senate visit(which is why he visited with the troops, including a private moment at a military hospital), once he left Iraq on his Campaign plane and with his campaign staff it became a Campaign trip, and any visit to a military hospital would have been viewed as a political visit, not a senate visit.

"And the Pentagon reminded Obama that any visit to the military hospital would be done as a Senator from Illinois,"
SO why DIDN'T he go????
He IS a senator from Illinois...!
You can tell that from the still -unfinished housing developments begun under his watch... just about nine years ago.
You can TELL from the way his earmarks landed... with his erstwhile church ($15,000,000), with Michelle's boss (over $1,000,000) who rewarded her with an outrageous annual raise, in Obama's pocket.... (monies supposedly intended by Rezko to heat his broken down tenements during the reign of B O).
As for the ideas... there are better ones from McCain then there are from Obama.
John has promised a hefty award for a new kind of self-propetuating battery, provides encouragement to get going with drilling for oil... and enthusiam for windmills, and nuclear power.....
Obama is too busy campaigning to come up with any new an viable solutions....despite his team of 300 advisors.
McCain definitely doesn't have the glitz that Obama blinds with.
But he has been reelected to Congress, has served honorably in the military,
has reached across the aisle to work with both democrats and republicans, and unless something happens and Hillary becomes the nominee... will get my vote!
COUNTRY BEFORE BROKEN DOWN DNC WITH
IT'S FORCE-FED DONKEY !!!

Seah, have you actually listened to anything Obama has said? I mean, really listened to it? Not a 15 second soundbite, but the whole speech? These speech was a call on Europe to do it's part in protecting freedom. Doing it's part in spreading technology. Doing it's part in stopping genocide and climate change(which of course, the Germans in particular, are way ahead of us on). It wasn't a condemnation of anyone(Bush and McCain weren't even mentioned), he wasn't "With me"...it was "Europe, whatever happens in America in this election, you must do your part"...it was direct to Germany, who received the support of America at it's lowest point, and has been rebuilt into a thriving nation. And it was a general speech to all people, from everywhere, that the challeneges of the 21st century can be met, but not by America alone and not by Europe alone, but together, as one world. It wasn't a policy speech(he'll save those fo the States), he didn't offer any new plans or details, and he shouldn't have. It wasn't about America, it was about Europe and the World working with America, no matter who is President.

Obama is a marketing and PR superstar
With out all the money wasted on the marketing and PR, There is only a speech left.
Every Rock and Super Star has the same marketing and PR, that is what makes them. Mr Obama is Mr Hollywood. he has no substance or anything to back him. Just ads, speeches and marketing, At least the Rock Stars can sing. Obama comes up under the Actor side, speaking and acting.
We need a real President, Not an actor or a person Hyped up to be what they are not.
Obama needs his ego deflated a bit so he comes back down to earth.

Trettione, you really think Obama visiting the troops wouldn't have turned into an even bigger attack for using them as a "photo-op"? Puh-leaze. The McCain camp is in desperation mode in July, it's kind of sad really. And he can't even offer any ideas, all he can do is attack Obama.
Posted by: steven | Jul 25, 2008 2:45:49 PM
Marty, McCain supporters trying to claim Obama can't work without a teleprompter is kind of funny. This is the guy who gives greats like "Czecheslovkia" in 2008, "Iraq-Pakistan Border", and "The surge happened before the surge was even discussed!"
of course McCain is even worse in front of a teleprompter(awkward laugh) my friends.

You guys will say anything to make yourselves feel better. Free bands vs. they just really wanted to hear the man speak because they just might like him. Reality people...

B.s.meter...do you know any acts that can draw 200,000? Miley Cyrus might be able to do it. When they were still around, the Beatles might have got close. Reamonn is not some world-renowed band(how many of their songs do you know? don't look at their Wiki entry). And did it occur to you that Bands who play at Political rallys and speeches do so For free? This crap your trying to sling was attempted after the big Portland rally that drew 75,000...and was disproved.
And the Pentago reminded Obama that any visit to the military hospital would be done as a Senator from Illinois, Obama chose not to politize the Troops, but the McCain camp attacked anyways(anybody have the draft of the email they were going to send out if Obama did go? Something along the lines of forcing a photo op on the soldiers or something?)

Forthcoming box office movie hit, a terrifying thriller, nailbiting, see the raw fear in his wee beady eyes. Yes it's
"Teleprompterless"

JakeD...It is curious that John McCain does not have the courage to be the true independent republican he was back in 2000.He supports "W" all the way. There are very few differences in what he wants to do vs. his pal George W.Bush

Len, my post was pure contradiction of the Anti-Hope posters who rely on a week long, week old poll that Fox News just released as being evidence of no-bounce. The fact is, overnight there was a bounce, and as daily tracking numbers are 3 day averages, it will likely rise by Sunday(which, based off of our 24-hour news cycle, would be when any bump ends...if he sustains his lead we will see).

William....Another republican!! Never!!
Obama 2008
Posted by: Len | Jul 25, 2008 2:29:42 PM
Steven.....Say what you want but I am not naive.I am well informed as to why I like Obama vs. another Republican like McCain.
Posted by: Len | Jul 25, 2008 2:24:59 PM
Can televison media please report that Obama campaign ASKED the German rock band Reamonn and other acts to perform BEFORE his speech.....so Americans can better figure out how the Jr. Senator could get 200,000 in the park. Campaign had enough $$$ to pay for that but didn't want to visit our military guys on campaign $$...wow.
If someone could just find out how much they paid for Reamonn and Patrice and permits for food vendors.
