No Bounce? Rasmussen Daily Tracking poll: Obama 49-McCain 44(yesterday 48-45, day before 47-45, 49 is Obama's highpoint thusfar in Rasmussen)

Gallup: 47-41(yest. 45-43). And this is just with 1 day of post speech, let's see what the numbers are on Sunday before we start talking about no "Bounce"

Just shows that Germany (like America)has a whole lot of naive people--not the ones that went for the free concert, but the people going to listen to Obama.

It's unbelievable how much power people give Obama. Who is he to deserve this?
He spent 143 days as a Senator and didn't take a stand on anything.

It just all seems like a phony publicity stunt. The arrogance of Obama and his staff will eventually destroy him.

"The size of our forces was no match for the much larger Soviet Army."

He said that? Good grief and no one laughed? Too much beer and schnitzel I guess.

McCain is right. He knows absolutely nothing about military operations. The numbers were disproportionate but so was the weaponry. Massed tank forces aren't much good against tactical neutron weapons. It was a war no one could afford to win so no one tried. Both sides knew it was a stalemate. That was the idea.

BTW: if that is what he said, he used the same kind of scary noise the Pentagon uses to get bigger budgets. For years they told us Ivan was nine feet tall with superpowers. It turned out Ivan was four foot eight with zits.

Jo -- I just read where many of the younger people in attendance complained his speech was nothing more than a US election talk. They were indeed there for the music.

What band will Obama book on his next speech? If he comes to my home state and hires Bruce Springsteen, even I would go! How about Hannah Montana? Then Obama & his team could claim ALL the young kids are for Obama. I see lots of possibilities for these free rock concerts, ooops, I mean Obama rallies. (wink, wink)

Lol. The truth is soooo different from the reality, ain't it?

Live it, learn it, love it.

The polls are out and there was no bounce for Obama. In fact, McCain has closed the gap in key states.

As I said before, when can we arrange another tour for Obama?

:)

geeevil,

LOLOL. Thank you! I love it!

By the way, I'm sooo glad Obama gave his speech and made the HUGE Berlin gaffe.

And everyone witnessed it - so there is no covering it up!

Even Christianne Amanpour said there was no euphoria after the speech (she was perplexed)....

Another tour for Obama please!! Lol.

hopesprings52: "Whenever there's a perceived weakness in his armor, Obama goes to the big teleprompter speech with adoring crowds and lofty rhetoric."

This is patently untrue. When he was in difficulty in the primaries, he became a little event extradinare - choking down beers for informal discussions with voters and letting 4 year olds bowl a frame of his game. Do you think the public is so stupid they'll believe your lie over what they remember from only 3 months ago? Come on, try attacking his positions (well laid out in policy papers on his website, not soundbites in the media) - there are differences between him and McCain rational people can debate and disagree about.

"On the eve of Reagan's visit, 25,000 protesters marched through West Berlin, smashing windows and fighting police in a protest against Reagan's international policies"

************
And those international policies gave birth to Al Qaida. Chickens, meet the roost!

Just as in Oregon, Obama and his team provided a FREE concert with a VERY popular band -- thus the huge crowds.

Nice try again, but some of us read.

LOL.

Next.

Jane,

Europeans didn't like Reagan either. You remember Reagan, don't you? One of America's most beloved presidents of all time.

So that tells you all you need to know.

Nice try though. But you lose again.

MAYBE IF McCAIN AND BUSH USED BRIBE TACTICS AND GAVE FREE CONCERTS IN THE PARK BEFORE SPEECHES (70,000 IN OREGON IN MAY AND THE BERLIN PHOTO OP YESTERDAY) YOU'D SEE CROWDS TOO.
***********
YUP! Crowds of protesters!

McCain couldn't get 200, let alone 2000. You are funny!!!

And what opening act would you choose? Lawrence Welk is dead!

Jerry: Senator Obama paid for his trip to Berlin from his campaign funds. The fact that his trip was personally funded is exactly the reason the Pentagon cited for requesting he not visit the troop in Germany - he was traveling as a candidate not a Senator. I find it very disingenuous that you ask for the facts when being glaringly ignorant of them (or while deliberately implying lies).

If you want to tear down Senator Obama, attacking some point of his proposals laid out in detail on his website - far greater detail than Senator McCain has provided - would be a good way to do so.

Posted by: jhw539 | Jul 25, 2008 1:12:31 PM

We learned from the Pentagon last night that the visit would be viewed instead as a campaign event," the adviser, retired Air Force Maj. Gen. Scott Gration, said in a statement.

"Senator Obama did not want to have a trip to see our wounded warriors perceived as a campaign event when his visit was to show his appreciation for our troops and decided instead not to go."

Bush was there, riots broke out, they had to close the streets, not much flag waving, but a bunch of flag burning, LOL!

It was the Pentagon that blocked Mr. Obama from visiting the troops in Germany. Whether you support McCain or Obama, it's crucial to slow down and either listen to or read the news - as much as possible. Distortions and half-truths are flying everywhere.

Obama's trip really put a nail in his coffin. His gaffes were there for all to witness. Can we please arrange another trip for him ASAP?

Lol.

BHO has left the political world and is attempting to become the savior of the world. He would great taking the place of Billy Graham.

Posted by: William | Jul 25, 2008 1:01:15 PM

All Obama accomplished yesterday was giving the people of Berlin a free concert with a platinum selling German rock group (Reamonn) and a reggae performer Patrice.....THAT'S why 200,000 turned out.
Plus, why should he stop to thank our military if there are no cameras around.....with or without cameras OUR SERVICE MEN AND WOMEN ANR NOT VOTING OBAMA IN NOVEMBER!!!
McCAIN ALL THE WAY!!!!!

Whenever there's a perceived weakness in his armor, Obama goes to the big teleprompter speech with adoring crowds and lofty rhetoric. Since he delivered his keynote address at the Dem Convention in 2004 we have known he makes an excellent speech. But speeches don't substitute for getting things done and solving problems. I judge a preacher or a prophet by his sermons, but I judge a politician by how he solves the gritty problems of the day.
