Obama Anti-Smear Website Names Alleged Smearers
July 09, 2008 11:57 AM
On the Obama campaign's "Fight the Smears" website the senator's smear-fighters are now naming names.
"Who is Behind these Lies?" the campaign asks, then listing a group of names -- David Bossie, Bob Perry, Floyd Brown, Craig Shirley, Bruce Hawkins, and James Lacy -- and organizations that the Obama campaign calls "Smears Inc.," tying them to previous political attacks such as the Swift Boat Veterans for Truth, and the Willie Horton ad.
Interestingly, the Obama campaign fails to connect any of the "Smears" it disproves to any of these charter members of Smears Inc.
Not "Michelle Obama Says 'Whitey' On a Tape" nor "Barack Obama can't produce his birth certificate" nor "Obama's Books Contain Racially Incendiary Remarks" nor "Barack Obama Won't Say the Pledge of Allegiance & He Won't Put His Hand Over His Heart."
Nor does the website tie "Smear Inc." to the newest and latest smear making its way around the net: "Fake Maureen Dowd Column Alleging Obama’s Fundraising is Coming from Overseas Non-US Citizens." The fake MoDo column, allegedly from June 29, includes some nonsense about non-American citizens donating to the Obama campaign.
"FACT," says Fight the Smears, "Dowd wrote no such column. Her column on June 29th was about Hillary Clinton supporters."
But again, the MoDo smear is not tied by the Obama camp to Messrs. Bossie et al.
It's not as if "Fight the Smears" is reluctant to name names; the website ties the "Whitey" rumor to talk radio giant Rush Limbaugh, GOP operative Roger Stone, and Hillary Clinton supporting blogger Larry Johnson.
So what gives?

Jerome in MO,
"Without Hillary, Obama is yesterday. Hillary made it clear, dance to my music, or I will run as an independent. Obama has no choice."
Well, as an Obama voter, I hope Hillary does take this approach. It would definitely take McCain's votes and ensure a landslide victory for Obama!
Go Limbaughts go! Didn't even use "half my brain" for that one -- heehee.
Obama 08!

I would like everyone to step back from their political positions, put aside the hate mongering and partisan animosity to think just for a moment about the sad shape our world is in. We all know the many problems our country, and the world face. Who would you rather have in charge in the coming years: Someone who is so old he has no real connection to our future, or someone who has a personal stake in our future by virtue that he will be alive to experience it. I know this is simplistic and just a bit ageist, but I ask that we all just take a moment to consider it.

Olivia: Your are wrong. Hillary and Obama had differences of opinions on issue especially Healthcare. Yes, I have read comments before on Obama being dangerous. What they mean is that the terrorists are waiting for him to become president. In fact, Bin Laden and Al Qaeda must be laughing at us right now because they already know all about Obama and his lack of knowledge on foreign policy and politics. Get a grip and read more. Obama can become a dictator because he is half Kenya and that is in his blood. If you can't tell that when he is speaking on the platform then you don't know politics. Listen to him trying to sound like MLK sometimes. What a mess this country will be in if he is elected.

Sylvia Johnsen: You are absolutely right. For a Harvard graduate he is unable to form his own words using the speeches of RFK, JFK and MLK. His words of hope and change came from the speech of RFK which I seen on the internet. He also used the speech that the governor of MASS. used at one time because he didn't know what to say on the platform. I also read that on the internet. He is not capable of running this country and never will be. He knows it and so does the DNC but they do not like Hillary and that's why they cheated her out of the delegates in MI and FL. Nancy is so jealous of Hillary that she didn't want Hillary to become president. Nancy wants to be the woman in power. Everyone knows what the DNC did to Hillary by pressuring the superdelegates to vote now before the convention. Reid, Dean and Nancy made deals with them to switch their vote. Obama knows about it because he did the same thing. He is the most underhanded candidate that ever ran for president of this country. When he was running for the senate, he played dirty pool to the woman running against him and took her to court making false claims about her and won. He is desperate to make history like MLK and is using the white people to do it. This country better wake up and think before they vote.

It's my name, I supported Clinton and I will never stop voicing my opinion: Barack Obama is not worthy the presidency!
Clinton won the popular vote, a virtual tie with Obama. 352 superdelegates and Al Gore is wrong. Clinton beats Obama on merit, issues and character.
It's my name. I don't work for any Smear Inc. supporting GOP, or Fight the Smear Inc. blogging for pay to support Obama. Obama can't buy my vote!

jdona - Obama dangerous? He and Hillary agree on just about every single issue- there was never much difference in their platforms. If his ideas are dangerous than so are hers.

I AGREE!!!!!!!!!!!!!
McCain is getting by on his past glory. Today's McCain is nothing more than a cranky, hot tempered pandering senior citizen that will say anything or take any position to get elected. People like you flip over this flop

Since Obama is going to lose, he should give up and at least save the Democratic Party. If he fails to do this on his own the DNC will probably have to take matters in their own hands.
Obama for the sake of the Party, Give it up!

I'm a HUGE Obama supporter.....but that "kool-aid" stuff is funny.
ps. Too bad it's not funny enough to give McAncient a win in November.

THE PARTY CURRENT LEADERSHIP ARE ASSOCIATE AND PARTNER OF JOHNSON JIM CEO [FINANCIAL CORP, JOHNSON-JIM, DOING DEALS BEHIND CLOSED DOORS. REV.MANNIG AND LARRY SINCLAIR SAYS THAT THE WHOLE STORY HAS YET TO BE TOLD.SOMEONE SHOULD INVESTIGATE

in the first place, Hillary's debt has been cut in half due to an intensive fund raising drive on July 4 by her grass roots supporters. We will once again have another fund raising drive to try and retire the other half. Raising 10 million bucks in a matter of days is no easy task, so for those of you questioning where Hillary's so called suppporters are, we were working our butts off to raise that 10 million dollars. And we will do so again. We support her, we will continue to support her, and we will NOT support Barack Obama.

Senator Obama has flip-flopped on over half of the issues and guess that is the reason he does not want the truth spoken, hence the anti-smear group. He is not presidential material and is losing voters' respect every day

If Hillary actually had the "eighteen million voters," she claimed to have every time you put a microphone in front of her, the she has no problems: Just ask each one of them for a dollar.

by this point people pick and choose what they want to believe out of rumors on both sides so smearing someone at this point is pointless! people pretty much distrust each other and about everything they say unless it fits what they want to be said..
fox news is on a whole different can of worms after the whole "terrorist fist jab" thing i think even people who are against obama laughed that some one calling that news. how sheltered would you have to be to believe that? even bush did it..

Angie: Good for you. I'm a democrat and I am voting for McCain. And if you think the republicans are smearing Obama how about the DNC that went behind the scenes to make sure the superdelegates throw their vote to Obama. Nancy didn't want Hillary to become president because she wants to be the woman in power. Get real. And I am glad that the black conservatives have an anti-Obama ad going along with the VETS. Its about time he got smeared. And there is only one Messiah. It is not Barack Hussein Obama. If he thinks he is let him walk on the water.

rhbate,
"Hillary has no shame! This multi-millionaire is asking for donations of $10.00 and up to help pay for a campaign bill "
The news stories I have read the big donors were asked to help. Not the smaller ones that contribute to him.

I don't think she is asking "big donors" to help with a $10.00 donation. Go to her Website. Even you can contribute $10.00 if you choose.
