ABC News' Natalie Gewargis Reports: Sen. Barack Obama’s campaign has printed fliers advertising his upcoming address in Berlin. . . in German.

The presumptive Democratic nominee (who represents the state of Illinois. . . in America) will be speaking in front of Berlin’s Victory Column in the Tiergarten on Thursday, as you can see by this flier. . . if you speak German.

For those of us who don’t speak the language of der Bundesrepublik Deutschland, Obama’s website offers an English translation.

How about creating a new political party please- take the best of both sides and make term limits mandatory and... sigh- Okay now........

Just how tolerant are the German people-If the Germans, could deal with BOH as their political leader, then I would really be amazed- until then I think their homogenous nature and their less than liberal social policiies kinda clash with Barry's 'Hope message'

Do the German courts tolerate litigation and do they give great judgements? Do they allow abortion and what do they do with those Down's syndrome babies... The Polizei go to (used to at least) school for four years to be policemen- their actions are final and not scrutinized by their media unless gross abuses occur-

I spent five years in West Germany in the early eighties and if there ever was a person the then West German's I knew would deplore and really worry about living near the Fulda Gap it would be B H Obama.

Using all of his European/Middle East Victory Tour Photo Ops- can't wait to see the photo montage in Denver...
Why not use a quaint East German hamlet to do this photo op? Or can't they put a lid on the unemployed new aryan types running amok with no jobs and less hope-Maybe Barry can show them some Hope like we have here in the US?

It is pretty sad that all the academic types supporting this man will rally around all this hoopla, convienently choosing to forget history.... History, who needs it anymore- We have had a few Executives who have chosen to write their own and/or invent it (for personal gain?) like a Vice President who became self proclaimed 'King of the Internet' and then Environmental Issues... Hmmm, no wonder why our banks have issues, people learned that they can make money and then we would all pay to correct the situation- Ask some Norwegians about this situation....

We are a stupid country and if/when we let this happen, we deserve what will happen to us- Can you say Cuba, remember that Kennedy thing with the missiles- those pesky soviets/russkys are now rattling their swords by threatening sending Blackjacks there.... and then when the EMP 100 miles above Kansas eviscerates our infrastructure.... I am not that whacked, just pretty scared about where this country that I love is going to...
Can we start a new party, please>

Obama did not pick Germany for his rally, because he wants to change the Germans attitude about Americans, he did it because the pro-Obama mania, was already in place and the polls are sympathetic . Why will they cheer? Because they see a less influential America coming with a Obama presidency, they see a bigger government, fewer personal freedoms and a lower standard of living--in short, Americans a lot more like Europeans. Trying to influence American voters with a campaign rally of people who loathe much of what America stands for strikes as a POOR JUDGMENT!

I new he was getting desperate but really Mr. McCain - now you want to say that Obama is responsible for the gas prices rising.

Please learn economics so you can stop making irresponsible statements.

McSameLovers, if you have not learned from 8 years of WBush-Cheney-McSame failled policies, then continue to vote for republicans. Now we cannot put gas in the tank of our car, we have to put our houses on foreclosure, lose our jobs, not be able to send our children to college. All of that because of the 8 years of faillures of WBush-Cheney-McSame's policies. McBush has no vision for America no program for its leadership inside and outside. The world is ready for America's leadership and it is demonstrating it through its support to Obama.God bless America and God bless Obama. OBAMA08.

I live in Germany and have to say that I find the fact that Obama is coming here disgusting. He is a US senator who has little to no influence whatsoever on anything to do with Germany or other foreign policy. Yet they roll out the red carpet for him and allow him to make a speech here. And guess who has to pay for it? The German taxpayers. He is blatently using the German people and government to polish his image and for 'electioneering'.

How would the American people feel if a meaningless junior member of parliment from somewhere like Australia made a trip to the US so he could look good at home, and the US taxpayers had to foot the bill and got nothing out of it?

It was "Americans Abroad for Obama" who provided this free advertising?

Maybe he IS running for emperor of the universe; his head is certainly big enough..... and his mindset presumptuous enough.

Perhaps it was this group which redesigned the presidential seal in B O's image......

hmmmmm

It was Americans Abroad for Obama who gave out the flyers. NOT the Obama campaign. There is an excellent article on Huffpo regarding this.

Is it just me, but I get a sense of a Third Reich, Hitler kind of vibe from that poster. I wonder if that was intentional to make The OBama look like a world leader in the eyes of Germany..

Wow, this is just weird lately. The Obama wants to become President of the entire world. God help us all.

Snarky,

That's what makes America. You are entitled to your opinion.

I am not petty enough to judge your motives or method of reaching that conclusion.

Did you live thru the consequences of the way we left SE Asia?

Do you know any Cambodians who lost everything?

Any Laotians?

Any Vietnamese?

Ever see any movies like "the killing fields".

Lots of people were convinced that we were right to throw them all to the wolves too.

But you are entitled to what you think. Alec Baldwin will save a seat on the flight that he will not take then either for you. IF McCain pulls it out.

Posted by: Ziggy | Jul 24, 2008 1:40:05 AM

Has McCain accepted responsibility for being WRONG ABOUT THE WAR?

He should. He voted FOR IT. He CAMPAIGNED FOR IT. IT'S HIS BABY.

IT WAS A HUGE MISTAKE IN JUDGEMENT.

ABSOLUTELY HUGE.

Barock the vote in November folks ...

We are going to win this thing ...

the Siegessäule (Victory Column) is hardly a Nazi shrine; it was erected to celebrate the Prussian victory against he Danes in 1873, a long while before the National Socialist political movement came into being.

As for Obama holding political rallies on foreign soil, the damage done to America's reputation in the world community by the Bush administration is practically immeasurable; You want acts of political ego? You need look no further than the Bush/Cheney axis.

I welcome Obama's efforts to let our foreign allies know he intends to regain their trust by championing America's commitment to global responsibility.

Posted by: Mark | Jul 24, 2008 1:25:30 AM

It will be absolutely fascinating to watch the reactions if McCain actually does manage to pull it off. Given that the people have seen how empty the Dems have proven to be since 2006, it is entirely possible.

The screaming from the left no matter what the numbers will be.....

The Samaritans will have to open 24 hour desks on the Brooklyn and Golden Gate bridges.

Posted by: Ziggy | Jul 24, 2008 1:25:29 AM

Snarky,

Obama is completely untried, not saying that in 20 years or so he might not have proven himself but I don't think so.

He is a snake oil salesman. You talk about Rove being behind the scenes but have you watched (or heard) your "golden child" without a teleprompter when his 300 advisors are not able to feed him his lines? Why do you think he resists open forums so strongly?

IF I VOTE for McCain it will be holding my nose but Obama is a complete shell.

As has been said, "there is no there, there".

Posted by: Ziggy | Jul 24, 2008 1:14:07 AM

Mein Gott!

Obama's ego is unglaublich (unbelievable).... and it has affected his staff. When asked if his rally were more political than substantive, they replied that often presidential rallies have the element of both. The reporters had to point out that he was not the president.

Perhaps his staff can ressurect Leni Reifenstahl to produce a rally worthy of the Senator's magnitude. It worked for the Fourth Party Congress... Germans love spectacle!

Barrak, Barrak, uber alles!

Snarky....what does Michael Jordon have to do with this Presidential race...I don't get your analagy, as 80% of NBA is black. Is Jordon going to get into politics? He's about as qualified as Obama.

Posted by: Debra | Jul 24, 2008 1:12:47 AM

Debra: Yeah, and Michael Jordan only made it in the NBA because of his skin color. I heard he was let in by Affirmative Action. He only dunked the ball once, but the biased MSM kept showing the same tape over and over and they made him into a star.

But he wasn't one, really.

Posted by: Snarxon | Jul 24, 2008 12:49:03 AM

Seriously, all you Obamaniacs may well be "counting your chickens before they are all in one basket" to mix references.

If this shining star is such a clear-cut superior human (Germany is the right place for THAT anyway), then how come he's been no better than neck-and-neck with a 71 year old, OLD tired man with old, OLD ideas???

And they keep going back and forth, never more than a couple of points apart.

No sure thing for old Barry yet.

Posted by: Ziggy | Jul 24, 2008 12:48:34 AM

Obama is on his "we are the world" tour instead of "proud to be an American tour" and our troops just don't think like that. He'll be lucky to get 14% of the military vote, like he's getting 98% of the 14% of black Americans vote.
Good luck with that. Thank God for Fox news and conservative talk radio (80% of political talk radio is conservative, like the bulk of this country). This guy is the most liberal candidate ever and truly has only got this far on his skin color and Oprah endorsement.

Posted by: Debra | Jul 24, 2008 12:42:15 AM
