A Line That Probably Sounded Tougher to Obama Than It Did to McCain
August 19, 2008 11:04 PM
"I am a big believer in winning," said Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, in Raleigh, NC, tonight. "I don’t intend to lose this election...John McCain doesn’t know what he is up against right now."

Unless you take Obama literally. As in, McCain is so senile he really doesn't know what he's up against - in fact he doesn't know what happened ten minutes ago.

Comrade Obama said, we are not allowed to question his patriotism.

Marika, how many years would you have wanted us to wait for Saddam Hussein to comply with the conditions of the 1991 cease fire? After 12 years of diplomatic efforts, including sanctions, failed should we have waited another 5? Another 12? And what if it had turned out that he had WMDs and used them once again on his neighbors? The UN Security Council thought 12 years was enough so the gave Saddam Hussein one final ultimatum. HOWEVER, the UN Security Council made it very plain that they would not follow through on their ultimatum. So President Bush made his final ultimatum and kept his word, when Saddam Hussein still refused to comply, by rescinding the 1991 cease fire and resuming the 1991 Gulf War.

John Mcain is not a presidential material, the WORLD is now in big caos, so we need someone who would NOT start a war, just because we want to as Bush and Mcain did,but let use all other option what we have and we would NOT loose so many Young lives. So people wake up, we had enough of Bush-s and Clintons, we need a new blood in the WHITE HOUSE. Marika from Texas

Mau-mauing McCain, huh? How Chicago. How "I'm the guy who brings a gun to the knife fight". How Care Bear turns thug.
It's Obama who doesn't know what he's up against -- that 11% of "undecided" voters in the polls are probably Democrats who intend to vote for Nader, McKinney, or Barr, and don't care to toss that information into the total-surveillance system.
The Democratic delegates can fix this next week, by nominating someone ELSE. Mob-style manipulation of the government hasn't worked out well under Bush, and it wouldn't work out any better under this "post-partisan" fraud.

Cincyr, you wrote: "I think they're (the Obama campaign) saving all their ammo for the fall campaign."
There is just one more week before the roll call vote. Now that one poll has Sen. McCain up by five, IF others show a similar lead within the next couple of days there may be some vote-switching going on next week. Sen. Clinton only needs about 3 switched votes per state to rob Sen. Obama of the nomination.
You Obama supporters tout Sen. Obama's great judgment. Sen. Obama should NEVER have allowed Sen. Clinton to have BOTH a speech and a roll call vote. There was nothing he could do to stop a roll call vote since Sen. Clinton had more than the required signatures to place her name in nomination. HOWEVER, Sen. Obama could have told her that she gets one...either the roll call vote OR the speech, but not both. Sen. Obama used his "great judgment" to let the Clintons right back into the picture!

The Obama campaign has not really gone after McCain and the Republicans. And there's plenty to go after, especially McCain pushing for the Iraq war even before Bush. I think they're saving all their ammo for the fall campaign.

Lot's of "independents" too! LOL.

I have never met so many Hillary supporters in my life. It's like the whole GOP supports Hillary... Who knew?

Of course McCain doesn't have a freaking clue about anything except getting himself elected.
He doesn't understand the economy. He thinks your middle class if you make 3 million a year. He has 10 mansions, owns his own jet, and shops for shoes like Imelda Marcos.

Polls are meaningless, but so are Obama's answers. uh, uh, you know.

I guess Obama didn't catch up to McCain in the hallways of Congress to push him around and give him a stern talking to. Lieberman must have warned JMc that Bad Bama was a'comin'.
Threatening wrinkly old white haired guys has a way of looking thuggish. Obama doesn't look the part so the walk and the talk don' jibe.
Obama looks silly when he tries to get tough. I guess because his being humorless, it is hard to tell the difference. One thing is certain, given recent world events, Americans won't vote for a guy who can't make it believable because he is passionless in a fight.

McCain is up against a weak, inexperienced, propped-up candidate protected by money and the media.
Obama voted against a bill that would save infants that survive abortion.
And to hide his extreme radical abortion voting history he lied.
Well he finally got caught.

ChrisNBama, I agree with you. My take is that the media plays this up just like a major sporting event with the intention of attracting viewers, which in turn attracts advertisers, which in turn pumps money into the "news" corps., which in turn trickles down into the pockets of the punditry.
Cable news is bad, and unfortunately the so called MSM are following right behind.

I am an independent.
I am not charged up over either McCain or Obama.
All of you who blame Bush for you woes the last 8 years should be blaming Congress for the last 2. The last 2 have been the worst.
Pelosi and Harry Reid have done more to ruin this country in the last 2 years than any previous leaders (and I use the term "leaders" loosely) of Congress. NEVER in the history of the USA has Congress had such a low approval rating. So much for the promise of getting things done in the first 100 days.
Pelosi and Reid went on vacation instead of addressing critical issues in Congress. Pelosi has been busy promoting her non-bestseller and welcoming the "blessing that God has sent" to Democrats.
To all of Congress -- it is way too partisan. Whoever is in power spends too much time trying to make the other guy look bad and playing "gotcha" so they can win elections, have power and spend tax dollars.
None of them put "America" first. They all put their party first because they want POWER!
Congress has accomplished absolutely NOTHING since the Dem's took over.

The media has been wrong before. Many times, in fact. Just because Jake says it, doesn't necessarily mean it's so. Don't forget, Obama was on vacation last week and McCain was firing his big guns at him, and the polls barely moved.
Not a time to panic or gloat.

Oooooo, McCain is quaking in his boots. Bring it on weakling!
Posted by: marylou | Aug 20, 2008 9:33:27 AM
I agree Angie, the polls are pretty meaningless at this point. But they sure do cause the pundits to speculate. I've had to stop watching cable TV because its become so asinine.
Posted by: ChrisNBama | Aug 20, 2008 9:20:02 AM
Obama is sounding more and more like a cult leader in his last days.
Posted by: geevill | Aug 20, 2008 9:15:51 AM
The polls don't mean much until after Labor Day.
But John McCain should watch his back. The Democrats in Chicago are known for "voting early and voting often". Democrats just don't see "dead" people -they let "dead" people vote.
