WASHINGTON (AP) -- Presidential candidate Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, is hours away from naming his running mate, with the corpse of Big Foot surging as a last-minute finalist.
Democratic officials say that Big Foot -- who as a female from the South has appeal to independent voters -- was one of the few Democrats whose background was checked by Obama's campaign, and she was a finalist for the job. Her prospects were thought to dim after her corpse showed up in a Youtube video. That corpse was later revealed to be a gorilla suit, making it seem even less likely that she would be tapped.
But Democratic sources say Big Foot is among a small circle of people mentioned, including Virginia Gov. Tim Kaine, Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius and Sen. Joe Biden of Delaware and Evan Bayh of Indiana. Obama was expected to text message his choice later on Friday or Saturday.

dl: If you think you have it bad now you haven't seen anything yet. If Obama gets elected this country is going into a disaster like you never seen it before. Apparently you don't screen candidate's actions when their speaking. You need to read more about Obama to find out the truth about him. Most of the public knows already but they don't care if he was just let out of jail. They would vote for him anyway. And I don't care if that happens because I have nothing to lose.

dl: Obama cannot answer questions like Hillary or McCain. Obama hesitates or stammers before answering. The only reason he can speak on the platform is because he studied the speeches of MLK, JFK and RFK who spoke the words hope and change. I don't know how he graduated college. Biden will be running the country while Obama is president in name only. Obama needs extensive school in politics and foreign policy and this is fact based. You better understand what your reading.

Those Obama/Bayh stickers are not made the way Obama makes his stickers and Andrea Mitchell just said that she talked to someone who told her that Obama called Bayh and informed him that he isn't the choice.

and Martin again
Chet edwards is on the short list no doubt but I said...he will never be picked...
no experience... unkown and anti-gay rights...
no way...sorry if that upsets you but there's no way.
He was on the short list out of respect for Pelosi.

I believe people after I have seen them speak many times...
and I have seen both Obama and McCain speak many times...and Biden twice...
(I am a political junkie who lives in NH ...moved here just to be able to do that)
Obama gets it...like a normal person.
McCain has always been hawkish and early on when he didn't look possible...he was very matter of fact about his "economic strength"
Biden and Dodd were the smartest about specifics on issues.
Hillary and Mitt the best pols...(I got off to a bad foot with Hillary when I swas volunteering for her last year and she acted like royalty at every function when she walkedin...left a bad taste and it was before she started to lose and became scrappy). Giuliani was the most fun. mccain was fun too but that was because he uses it to fill his "gaps" or get around the aggresive political war stances he would be saying at the same time.
Obama was the most logical. he answered the questions in a way that you could tell were his thought process...not someone writing it ahead of time...
Biden and Dodd did the same...but they just didn't get the one on one well...enough. Biden was great and all but I even said on this blog a year ago...a little like the uncle who you want second in command...not the one running the whole team.
Mccain is an ex soldier from a soldier family. there is nobility in that...
but those aren't the traits (atleast alone) for the President of the United States.
we want the smartest guy...not the guy who tries to act the toughest...and mcCain has finally made that slow jump/evolution to what I thought he would become...Napoleon...a funny wealthy trust fund ...napoleon.

You've got a HUGE oversight in your article here.
Big Foot is from the Pacific Northwest... not the south. Unless you want to claim she's a carpet bagger you should probably correct the article.

No comment about Barry discontinuing ads in 7 "red" states? I guess Howard Dean's dream of a "50 state" campaign will have to wait for a better candidate -- one who can pull it off.

DI, in your own words, how dumb is Obama if "HE Isn't that dumb"? Your words.

Whoever McCain picks will be the president if McCain wins because he is so old but not to old to get all up in arms about women's access to birth control and abortion.
Why he cares so much about this I will never know....oh wait because all he cares about is winning an election not human beginnings or Americans.
Can't wait for 4 more years of restricting access to abortion and birth control. Oh and the defining hatred of gay people.
Republicans, big government...a big problem.

Now, Hillary fans, it's a know fact that your candidate was 'stiffed' by Obama. So, give it up! The DNC, Dean, Pelosi and other ultra-liberals have won and Hillary is persona non grata. Did you really think Pelosi would share power with another woman?
Choose wisely now. McCain best suits the democratic party and it's principles. It's really impossible to say what Obama represents.

According to Politico, Chet Edwards is, in fact, on Obama's short list. Read it!

dl -- who told you that Obama is the person to get us out of this mess? What exactly has this man accomplished to PROVE to you that he can do this? Or is it that he told you he was going to "change" things, and you believe him? Do you always believe things other scam artists tell you without any proof?
And this event, Obama's picking his VP, is an important event in your life? I don't know whether to laugh or cry on your behalf.
But go ahead and gush. I actually am looking for to who he picks to, to see what lame sucker Obama chooses to share in his path of utter self destruction and embarassment when he loses the election as America gradually realizes he is a total fraud.
Tootles!

Interesting speculation, but I have to believe an Obama-Big Foot ticket would be viewed as threatening by many middle-class white voters living in crucial swing states.

"It's like waiting for Skywalker to meet Han Solo"
Actually, more like Lando Calrissian meeting Chewbacca. And you know how well that went the first time.

why is everyone waiting with such baited breath to see who Obama picks?...
one reason and one reason alone
we need help to get us out of the past 8 years...
It's like waiting for Skywalker to meet Han Solo
or Andy meeting Red in Shawshank Redemption
America has been in a tunnel for so long and the guards are running for another term...
we are waiting to see who will be Obama's "number one" lol
and if it is the "a$$-kickin" Biden...game is on.
that is why everyone is waiting...
the most precarious time in my life and I am almost 40... for this country because the bad guys...need to go.

Could someone dissect the Washington Post article out today on Michelle Obama and David Axelrod?
"Don't use our emergency room...we don't want the public aid population"
"They are seeping in"
The entire article is above my pay grade.
That was interesting article. As far as can understand - seems that Michelle was hospital administrator who wanted to promote poorer residents without insurance to use local health clinics, instead of using hospital ER as primary care doctor. She then had hospital purchase services of Axelrod's PR company to promote this idea in the neighborhood. Wonder how much he got paid for that?

Honestly, the way the media fawns over this Precious Obama is appalling. Who will Precious invite to the prom! What will they wear! Don't you think there are more important and scary aspects of his past that you need to follow up on? the fact that the National Enquirer is now doing more responsible and investigative journalism than the MSM is shameful. Notice how the NEQ got Edwards right first. And notice how the MSM, including the NT times, closely followed the Bigfoot story, which the NEQ ignored. Turned out to be a fraud.
William Randolph Hearst would be ashamed.

When ABC is going to report on this:
Obama's extreme abortion stand has been further revealed by a audio tape in which he was heard to say:
"And that essentially adding an additional doctor, who then has to be called in an emergency situation to come in and make these assessments is really designed simply to burden the original decision of the woman and the decision to induce labor and perform an abortion."
I am pro-choice, and I am also a mother of a five year old. I have never thought one can be so stone-hearted to deny a baby, no matter how he or she comes to the world, necessary medical help. Obama is a so cruel.
I remember he said he doesn't want his daughters to be burdened by babies. for him, babies are burdens.
I can't stand him. No Obama!
