Barack Obama: He Completes Us

August 30, 2008 11:42 AM

Comedy Central provides the Obama bio video the Obama campaign actually would like to have played Thursday night.

In actual news, HERE is the Obama campaign's new TV ad about Gov. Sarah Palin, in which it tries to make the case that George W. Bush, not Palin, is Sen. John McCain's true running mate.

The script reads:

NARRATOR: Well, he's made his choice. But, for the rest of us… …there's still no change. McCain doesn’t get it, calling this broken economy "strong." Wants to keep spending ten-billion-a-month in Iraq. And votes with George Bush ninety-percent of the time. So, while this may be his running-mate…  (VISUAL: McCain/Palin)…America knows this is John McCain’s agenda.  (VISUAL: McCain/Bush) And we can't afford four more years of the same.

BO: I’m Barack Obama.  And I approve this message.

Do you?

Clarity...you lack what we humans call a sense of humor.

From Andrew Halcro, who was one of the Republicans who ran against Palin in 2006.

The campaign of John McCain has sent a staff of eight people into Alaska to conduct background checks and vetting on Governor Sarah Palin.

Word is they have have eight rooms reserved at a Wasilla hotel.

...................

McCain Exhibits lack of judgment for impulsively giving Palin the VP without sufficiently vetting her, Poor Judgment. If he can't get the VP process right, what else will he fail on?

tasteless...comedy central...I didn't laugh!

Citizen AJ: I am friends with several republicans and they are thrilled with Palin because she is a true conservative, with actual accomplishments. The fact that she is a woman helps, but if she brought nothing else to the table their would not be such excitement in the republican base right now. The whole McCain picked her because she is a female and Hillary was not picked, ect. is just a response that democrats have come up with because they consider Palin to be a real threat. After all she is the only person out of Obama, McCain, Biden, and herself who has any executive experience and guess what she is asking to be elected to an executive role.

To Gloria: I don't thin McCain took the easy way out. Most people do not have anything to do with politics till right before the conventions. So they know really little about what any candidate has said or done over the past year. Plus since Palin was such a surprising pick the media and everyone else are going to be analyzing her with a fine toothed comb. By the time election comes around she will be a known candidate in whatever way really matters to the public.

These attempts to connect Senator Obama to Ayers are really stupid. That is the best and most polite term I can come up with. They are also hypocritical. This white American man who attempted treason on the United States of America is living large and in charge in a plush neighborhood in the burbs of Chicago enjoying a long, prosperous career. Only in America. Yet, this is not discussed, a flimsy, at best, link to the candidate who cares for hardworking families is attempted.

Lets face it people, and you all know this, this kills John McCain's "country first" ramble. Picking Governor Palin is an OBVIOUS attempt to win over the women that are still in conspiracy world thinking that the democratic nomination was "taken" from Senator Clinton verses her just losing it. Even the e-mails and memos that were mysteriously released to the news indicate the confusion and mismanagement in her campaign. Yet, again, this is not discussed or realize. Blaming the DNC and everyone else is the reason why Senator Clinton lost. Boy, this is EXACTLY how this country ended up with TWO terms of Bush/Cheney.

Karl Rove blasted Senator Obama on Face the Nation 3 weeks ago saying that if he choses Governor Kaine of Virginia, Governor Sebeillus of Kansas, or Senator Bayh of Indiana they would be picks based on winning the election not governing the nation. Now, Senator McCain has went and done JUST THAT. What does Mr. Rove have to say now.

It was Senator McCain who said that Senator Obama would rather lose a war and win an election. What does this pick say to that? Was she REALLY the best choice for VP? Yeah, the media and the republicans are trying to sell everyone on her but in reality, they no they are trying to pass off a lemon for something legit.

Amazing to watch the crassness of the "tolerant" liberal left. You dishonest dems might as well face it - Palin has more experience than "present" (as opposed to president) Superman Obama.

Gloria

Who can't he pick her anyway?

She's likely going to have Biden's lunch.

Posted by: drjohn | Aug 31, 2008 7:12:26 PM

OK, let's see McCain run an ad with Obama and his real running mate, Louis Farrakhan.

And then one with Wright.

And then one with Rezko.

The real powers behind the throne of the princess.

To Mary Ann:
You are missing the point in comparing Obama with Palin. If she is so good, and capable and interested in running the country, then she should have joined the primaries. Why didn't she?

Presidential candidates are judged and nominated BY THE PEOPLE through a gruelling process called primaries, where:

a) Both candidates McCain and Obama competed and Won against many competent and formidable peeers and opponents;

b) The country got to know the candidates over the course of the entire primary season of 12-18 months;

c) Their appeal and organization capabilities are tested in the public arena.

Basically at the end of the primary season, I was satisfied with both Sen. McCain and Sen. Obama. I believed both are unique, capable leaders and will put great efforts to bring some reform.

However, John McCain, being the oldest candidate ever, had the burden to be extra careful on the kind of VP he selects.

WHen that time came to HAND-PICK his BACKUP using his own judgement, John McCain choose an easy path to get through the election, instead of focusing on the real needs of the Presidency and the Country.

Well, I would much rather see Obama in office than that moron McBush. Lord knows we cannot afford another four years of the Bush Dictatorship!

The Liberals don't get it ...

Picking Palin is not about APPEASEMENT of the Obama camp.

It is about electrifying the Republican Party's MIGHTY SOCIAL CONSERVATIVE POWERHOUSE,... AND unleashing a stunning torrent of campaign cash, as the McCain camp raised a staggering US$7 million !!!!....in the day-and-a-half since Mr McCain named Mrs Palin on Friday.

The evangelical conservative grass roots of the Republican Party, which helped secure two White House terms for Ronald Reagan and George W. Bush is erupting in delight just in time for this week's party convention.

Move over Obamamania ... this is GOP's version of Palin-mania...she is the new headlines. BHO is yesterday's news.

Enough with this "heartbeat away" crap. It's ridiculous. McCain just may live to be 90, Obama may slip and fall over his own ego once he renames streets, libraries, churches after himself. Even if that doesn't happen, I'd still vote for even the slightest chance that Gov. Palin would suddenly become President before I'd even shudder at the thought of Obama actually being President.

"Speaking of her kids, how can she effectively take on the challenges of vp campaigning with four kids and an infant with Down's Syndrome? One of two will invariably suffer. Of course, there are also the issues of her inexperience along with her lack of vetting which bring up serious questions about McCain's judgement."

Sorry, kat. Wrong on all three points.

1. Her statement was that if the position wasn't full time and difficult, she wouldn't consider it. With that stature, they're family will have so many staff members to watch those kids' every minute of the day. That is if Chris doesn't just want to give up his oil biz and be a gasp! full time dad.

2. She has more domestic and foreign experience in her little finger than Obama has in his whole body.

3. McCain has shown extremely good judgment in picking her. It gives the Dems nothing to whine about without looking ridiculous except for maybe "OMG, she's pro guns! The horror of it all. Wait, wait, she likes to fish too."

I'm willing to bet, she'll become one of the most effective international diplomats since Princess Di and Jacky O.

McCain/Palin 08

Palin is simply evidence that McCain has a real thing for beauty queens.

Most Republicans know that there are women who are much more qualified for McCain's selection as VP: Hutchison, Dole, Snowe to name a few.

Who knew that Tapper's blog was so jam-packed with ideologues? This is NOT my grandmother's Republican Party. She would be horrified. My 83 year old now-Independent mother is supporting Obama.

Posted by: Deborah J. | Aug 30, 2008 11:50:23 PM

Oh, okay, Gloria what about the credentials of Obama the guy you support? His experience is not any better than Palin. But what can I expect from the an Obama Junkie. It is okay for their guy not to have experience but it is not okay for the other guy not to have it. You guys are so darn predictable! What a joke! And, I am a Clinton supporter, and I am not dumb, I am weary of the beatings that their own party gave to the Clintons over the last few years. It has really soured me against I grew up with and loved dearly. But, it has mutated into a branch of the Republican party and I don't mean a good branch like Arnold from CA or McCain. I mean a branch like Carl Rove. Obama is a a bad Republican in Democratic clothing. What a liar! And, I am not an imposter Republican posing as a Hillary supporter. I think that you cannot get it through your heads that we are so infuriated with your leader and your behavior that we would NEVER give him our votes.

Great speeches from Obama, but not very convincing.

Posted by: Mimi | Aug 30, 2008 8:13:57 PM

Agent of change Obama picks an old white guy to be his VP running mate.

Old white guy McCain picks a woman to be his VP running mate.

Wow...

That's gotta torque Hillary and Obama supporters!!!

Their heads must have snapped backwards and spun around a few times when they heard the Palin VP nomination.

I never thought I'd vote for McCain as president, but damn, now it would be fun to do so, just to watch Hillary and Obama supporters cry, *****, and moan for another four years.

Posted by: dom | Aug 30, 2008 6:33:47 PM

I think its ironic that Obama has voted with democrats 97% of the time. (yeah those same democrats that voted for and approved of the Iraq war)

Posted by: greg | Aug 30, 2008 6:24:41 PM

Obama has destroyed the democratic party. The new democrats are crass, predudiced against women and fully drunk on the sugary sweet kool-aid. There is no substance to Obama, he has never done anyting but run for president.

Palin is a little too far right for me but I have to say after the savagely sexist attacks on her yesterday I am reminded of the same sexist remarks that were directed at Hillary by Obama's party.

Sexism, lies and Hillary hate.. Obama's new democrats.
