Florida Dems Hit McCain's Wealth -- Including Cindy
August 22, 2008 4:11 PM
In this new ad from the Florida Democratic Party not only is Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., attacked as wealthy and out of touch -- but so is his wife Cindy, who is shown on CNN talking about jetting around Arizona.
Faced with attacks against his wife Michelle by state Republican parties, Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, has argued that "families are off limits."
Obama told CBN's David Brody that "I would never consider making Cindy McCain a campaign issue, and if I saw people doing that - I would speak out against it. And the fact that I haven't seen that from John McCain I think is a deep disappointment."
McCain spox Jill Hazelbaker said in a statement: “It is profoundly disappointing to see surrogates for Barack Obama attacking Cindy McCain, particularly after Obama himself claimed that ‘families are off limits’ and pledged to ‘speak out against’ attacks on spouses in this campaign. If Barack Obama expects the American people to believe he is a man of his word, he has a personal responsibility to condemn this ad.”

Cindy McCain has devoted at least the last 20 years to her worldwide charity to bring medical care to disadvantaged kids. Michelle has been a corporate lawyer. Oh, where are the liberals attacking Michelle for her evil occupation.

The house thing is so disingenuous. The properties are really Cindy's and her kids live in some and some are investments.
So which of those qualify for a "home"?
But golly, if "hate the rich" class envy is all Democrats have...

Obama a liar?
I am shocked, I tell you.

What is up with all the wealth envy. Is that not the same as the Bible calls coveteousness. So the McCains have made good financial decisions and they have paid off well. The cry babies out there looking down on them are the ones who have made stupid decisions with their finances or lack of education and want the government to bail them out of their mistakes or support them for life.
We should be looking at the two men and look at the decisions they have made and might make as president.
Obama wants more government, we need to ween people off of government support. No one will ever become self supporting waiting on the government. We need to get back to the principles that this country was built on. Personal responsibility.
By the way, Obama should reach out and give his brother George in Kenya a helping hand. Charity begins at home.

The point is that Obama and his supporters are constantly saying that Obama doesn't take money from lobbyists.
It is, of course, what we quaintly refer to as a lie.
He not only takes money from lobbyists, he takes money from oil people -- all while trying to demonize oil companies.
I think there's a word for that. Hypocrite.

Peach,
Apparently you missed the post where I said that Obama has received nearly $395,ooo from oil company employees since the primary campaign started. McCain has received over $1,300,000.
That would be 4 times as much money for McCain as opposed to Obama.
And only 1 of those guys is saying drill here drill now.

Obama's not running the ads. The Floridians are, independent of Obama's campaign.
Obama need not apologize. McCain is allowing his anger to vent through more attacks. Proving just how bad a choice McCain would make as a leader. We'd be in WW3 in no time.
McCain is proving irrational, easily provoked, and he covers up his blunders by blaming other people and hiding from the press.
Man up McCain. You put your foot in your mouth. Grow up and deal with it.

McCain is simply a guest in his wife's houses. Thats really all there is to it. It would be really tacky for him to ask her how many she has. If I was dependent on someone else for the roof over my head I wouldn't want to anger them either.

Rich coming from the party of John Kerry and his sugar momma Terry Kerry.
Didn't seem to matter to the Donks in 2004.
Keep flailing, Democrats. Not all of us are 8 year old children with no memory or without a frame of reference.

With Jesse Jackson's plan for Obama, he would make a great pick for VP...

Obama has to have the thinnest skin of any presidential candidate in modern history.
When the GOP ran an ad of Michelle saying she'd never been proud of her country before, Obama has a little hissy fit and said his wife was off limits.
But now Obama is running an ad making fun of Cindy McCain saying that it's impossible to get around Arizona without a plane.
Oh, and I'm sure Obama takes a bus when he makes different stop in the same state. /sarcasm

So much for Obama doesn't take in oil $$:
Sen. Barack Obama continued accepting donations from oil company executives and employees last month even as he aired ads in which he stated he took no oil company money, his campaign finance reports show.
Obama has taken at least $263,000 from oil company executives, family members and employees since entering the presidential race last year, including $46,000 last month. At least $140,000 has come in chunks of between $1,000 and $2,300, the maximum permitted under federal law.
Texas oil executive Robert L. Cavnar of Milagro Exploration and his wife, Gracie, have helped the Illinois Democrat raise at least another $50,000 by helping host a fundraiser earlier in the campaign.

Ryan -
I am having quite the little chuckle at your post that McCain is in bed with oil companies when it is your buddy Obama (otherwise known as The Empty Suit) who signed onto the 2003 Energy Plan giving oil companies tax breaks.
John McCain voted against that legislation.
Not that it's stopped your bud from making up lies.
Posted by: Peach | Aug 22, 2008 10:01:36 PM
Oh, we'll have energy independence under a Pres. Obama. We'll be using newspapers to light fires to keep our houses warm.
Remember when he said this:
"We can't drive our SUVs and eat as much as we want and keep our homes on 72 degrees at all times ... and then just expect that other countries are going to say OK," Obama said.
"That's not leadership. That's not going to happen," he added.
The guy is worse than an empty suit. He's a fool.

Ronaldraygun, I wonder why people believe that "drill here, drill now" means that oil or gas refined from that oil will stay in America? Not only do the oil companies already have roughly 68 million acres to drill on, the exports soared in the first quarter.
The public is being manipulated.

Debra, just typing something does not make it true. The Google is very helpful in doing research and getting the truth.
From Bloomberg:
Obama has more Wall Street support than McCain.
Obama Bests McCain Among Bush-Backing Bankers, Drug Companies
Some excerpts:
John McCain's presidential campaign lacks the support of several Republican-leaning industries central to President George W. Bush's record-setting fundraising four years ago.
Democrat Barack Obama has captured $9.6 million in donations from employees working for securities, mortgage and drug companies, compared with McCain's $6.6 million. In 2004, people in those industries gave $10.6 million to Bush and $5.4 million to Democratic nominee John Kerry, according to the Center for Responsive Politics, a research group in Washington.

Yep, they sound scared to me.

...John went there on Rezko apparently forgetting his own financial misadventures with the Keating 5. Gloves off NOW, Obama! And with the next attack on Michelle, you might want to have Cindy's drug theft adventure ready to go complete with sad music soundtrack.

I think bringing up Cindy McCain's wealth is different than previous attacked on Mrs. Obama. It is Cindy McCain's wealth that funds the lifestyle John McCain enjoys. Everything is in her name or the name of a trust. Even their taxes are separate.
Why is it any different than if McCain actually earned that money and you were saying that McCain is out of touch due to his wealthly lifestyle.
Ironic that the republicans paint Obama as elitist.
Sound like McCain is a kept man.

RYAN:
"His IL senate achievements were handed to him by Jones -- he begged Jones to make him a US senator."
Who is the Jones you are referring to here? "
His name is "Emil Jones"
And it's true that he supplied Obama with tons of legislation struggled over islators in the Illinois Senate to pass as his own.... to provide another step up his political stairway to the US Senate.
Apropos of nothing, Emil is retiring next week and providing his son with a political niche as well.
