GOP Lumps Obama With Madonna and Clooney in New Quiz

August 01, 2008 8:56 AM

Gop_site_080801_blog

Seeking to further push the notion that Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, is an out-of-touch empty-headed celebrity, the Republican National Committee this morning launched a new interactive website --
-- where users can guess whether Obama or a member of the glitterati uttered a particular quote.

For instance: "You have only a short period of time in your life to make your mark, and I'm there now."

Was that said by Obama, Madonna, David Beckham or George Clooney?

Or: "Anybody gone into Whole Foods lately and see what they charge for arugula?" (Choice: Obama; Cameron Diaz; Jessica Biel; Matt Damon.)

We had our own quiz on this subject yesterday, though we were trying to make a slightly different point.

McCain will be a great president, and will be good for our country. We dont know how Hussein Obama would do in the White House With Michelle. If he Will reduce our Military force and replace it with a big civilian police force that will mean we will be policed more then we will like.

Obama's friends are rappers like Ludacris and Fity Cents. He said he loves to listen to that stuff and his ipod is full of such vulgar music. Can you imagine foreign dignatories in the White House presented with vulgar lyrics from Ludacris and Fity cents as "entertainment" during dinner parties? They say that a person can't be that different from the friends he has chosen.

Republicans have a positive agenda. Actively defending the country against terrorism, instead of simply responding after their next attack against civilians. Energy independence. Reducing taxes. Reducing pork barrel spending. I could go on, but that is 4 more agenda items than Obama has produced although he pretends to be the candidate of "Change". He keeps saying "Change" but the only "Change" he comes up with is changing him from a senate trainee into a President trainee.

I'm glad that Obama is so arrogant he just doesn't get it when everyone starts laughing at him and his dimbulb toadies. This is like Laurel and Hardy coming back to life and running for President!

All voters should be able to view his records as listed by hfp's post. Makes one wonder what more he is hiding.

@Larry Clifton --you are so correct.

I'm confused as to why the party that celebrated Ronald Reagan and Arnold Schwarzenegger is trying to get traction with an anti-celebrity argument. Isn't Reagen the conservative ideal to aspire to? Wasn't there talk among conservatives a few years ago of changing the Constitution to allow Schwarzenegger to run for President? The inconsistency is puzzling.

T lost all respect for BHO when I found out how he managed to win his first state senate seat. It was by eliminating all three opponents by devious means. He whole political career has been through devious and corrupt means. No credibility at all--just talk and bogus promises.
His policies were stolen from other candidates or manufactured by Axelrod.

Obama rise to fame is filled with lies and marketing...he should become a preacher I think he missed his calling that way he could actual have an impact on people...his trip abroad was a joke and publicity stunt...all camera action and marketing...he was critized for not going to Iraq and he failed to really meet that challenge not pretend to be the President and represent Americans...he missed out on being with the soldiers what a phoney...yet people continue to believe in this marketing scheme...race and sexism is his way to win not it is race and age..he started playing that card before he won the nomination...when will America wake up...the dems missed the opportunity to have a real nomination when they picked this loser over Hillary

-Obama's a ZERO with a psychopathic megalomaniac ego.-

"The ability to get people to follow you is a leadership trait, but being charismatic to the point of manipulating people is a psychopathic trait. They can sometimes be confused." (Baliak)

He chose not to visit our troops overseas because cameras couldn't be present. This guy loves publicity and the average American loves a celebrity. I am not your average American, I voted for McCain in 2000, he is independent and votes how he wants. He is not looking to be a star but instead is looking to continue to make a difference. He is much different than Bush and I think he will be one of our greatest Presidents. So many Americans are just too caught up in celebrity status that they dont care about experience.

Someone wrote" By the way what President on our currenct does McCain or Bush look like? "

Answer... if McCain had hair, or a powdered wig, he could pull of a respectable George Washington. Bush, on the other hand looks like some guy on the play money the children's board game uses.

I've yet to see Obama's Columbia and Harvard records. We know where McCain placed on graduation; what was Obama's GPA?

Still remember the 2004 where all knew Bush's Yale records, but Kerry kept his secret till a year+ after the election was over. He allowed himself to be billed as the "smart" one during the election...only to be know once the record was out that he had the same academic average as Bush.

We've had eight years of scare tactics, eight years of corruption.

Eight years of one republican being indicted after another for various crimes.

Eight years of being lied to and deceived.

Can anyone really say this tactic by McCain and his party is any different?

Can the group that had total backing from the religious right over those years really tell me the republican party reflects their christian values?

McCain's OFFICIAL US NAVY IQ IS 135 which based solely on Obama's pathetic performance trounces Obama's!
Considering this guy wants to be president, We the People have a right to know who and what he is. We deserve to know.

Obama's DONE NOTHING BUT CAMPAIGN HIS ENTIRE CAREER. He's never written anything scholarly. He voted present 130 times. He's only passed 2 bills, one to fund The Congo (wasted) and another to rename a post office. He's never negotiated on any legislation and remains the farthest left winger in the Senate. Obama's biggest resume brag point is working as a community organizer for ACORN which was found guilty of registering tens of thousands of nonexistent voters in many states with such names as "Jive Turkey".

Obama's a ZERO with a psychopathic megalomaniac ego.

Partisan Tribalism is killing this country. It makes sure the Ruling Class posts record breaking profits, while you and I lose our, job, our home, our dog, and finally, our Mind when we decide to support McCain and vote for 4 more years of decline, decay, and dementia.

Sandra E - just one comment there Obama admitted to being a drug addict in his book!!

But that is not the comparison, it is to compare how the media puts them on a pedlestool and are awed by them. the Media are acting like Entertainment reporters not true journalists

Sandy - What is Obama's agenda? please all he is doing is crying about being questioned or what attacks that have not happened!!

By the way what President on our currenct does McCain or Bush look like?

The ad showing Britney and Paris smiling and showing off to the cameras and Barack Obama doing the same thing is not racist. It merely showing that Senator Obama big PR and photo-op overseas was for attention. There was nothing racist about it anymore than seeing a black and white person on the same TV show or together watching a ballgame in the stadium. Those who say this is racist do so because they are racist themselves. Every time, it has been Obama who is race baiting. End of story. By the way those two young women are very well off from selling their music and fashion goods around the world.
The Obama campaign is losing points in the polls and do race baiting for all the wrong reason.

Obama's energy plan: 65 Billion-dollar tax on oil. No drilling for American oil. No nuclear power. Put more air in your tires.
Obama's foreign policy: Surrender - now!
Obama's economic plan: raise taxes on Americans and American businesses.
Obama's multi-cultural back ground: The right and rightous reverend Wright.
Obama's committment to America: Okay, allright, I'll wear your stupid flagpin - if it helps me get elected.
Nobama!

It's been said that we get the president we deserve. -------- On Monday Obama held an intensive and high-level conference with top economists, from all schools of thought and political background. It was behind closed doors but still I thought there would be some comments, some leaks, some bits of news coming out on what was said about this most vital and critical issue. ---- In looking for those tid bits that might shed light on Obama's economic point of view and the type of options he is considering, or at least learning about, I found a list of attendees, a statement that Obama had made opening remarks before the door was closed (although nothing about what the remarks were) ....... and all I ever wanted to know, and much more, about Britney, Paris, Tom Cruise and their "role" in the presidential election. --------- Which is the chicken and which the egg? Are Americans so shallow that, while we want to complain about the economy, we only want to *think* and *learn* about the unimportant but sexy? Or is the press so eager for cheap stories that drive up ratings that they ignore important issues and important news about those issues? ---- We get the president we deserve. Sometimes that is a very frightening thought.

John McShame has gone from maverick to prostitute, which is sad to me that he's sold his soul to the RNC. All his negativity smacks of desperation, and if Americans are ignorant enough to swallow the lies about Obama, then we don't deserve any better, and we will continue our decline into that of a third world country, instead of being the most powerful country in the world. And BTW, it is the McSame camp who began the racist meme, NOT Obama. To relate celebrity, the McCain camp could have used a great number of folks, yet chose white-blonde young women who are known for their sexuality. Disgusting, and they should be MADE to stop the BS immediately. The polls are wrong, as they call the same idiots and never any cells, which is totally archaic. Democrats will win so huge in November, it will make the Rethus heads spin. AND KARL ROVE WILL GO TO JAIL, so he won't be available for the racist, divisive ads he's so famous for. Didn't any Rethuglicans learn from 2006??? Take all the polls you want, Obama is going to win hands down, all the the while retaining his decency and respect. Mclame has lost all credibility.

Obama has already had as many debates as any presidential candidate in history - 22 in the primaries.

Yeah, but he had been saying "I agree with Senator XYZ", "I agree with Governor ZYX", "I ehn, arh, ehn, yeah, ehn agree with you in what you asked".

Except the last one, after which he was so afraid, and could only be a cry baby and ask for House Mommy's rescue.
