Hillary's Ringing Endorsement
August 25, 2008 3:49 PM
Why are so many supporters of Sen. Hillary Clinton, D-NY, convinced that she doesn't actually want Sen. Barack Obama, D-Illinois, to win?
Might it have something to do with comments such as the following, which Clinton made today in Denver?
"Eighteen million people voted for me," she said. "18 million people give or take voted for Barack."
Give or take?

What does Hillary have to do, kneel down and kiss Obama's ring? What is good enough for the Obama mites?
Do they want to make her a public spectacle for having the audacity to run against a black man?
Hillary has earned the right to be dignified and glorified--Obama has not yet done the work that Hillary did.
She did better than any other concession speech such as Ted Kennedy's gritting his teeth conceding to Carter.
Carter went on to give us the most disasterous policies, the southern snake.
No matter how bitter the pill Hillary had the guts to attack McCain, Michelle Obama did not. Michelle had the opportunity to attack McCain but instead chose to tell us how much she loves her girls. Yep. Boring and no substance, she instead should have attacked McCain's continuation of the Iraq war, there was so much she could have done but a missed opportunity.
Enough already, Democrats...wake up...smell the coffeee.....concentrate on the economy ..something McCain knows very little about. Democrats...get over it..and move on-its what Hillary would want of you all.

It's comical to watch democrats fret over this for one single reason. The Clintons are simply doing what they've always done, and that is act on behalf of the one single thing about which they have any interest: The Clintons! But, now that their malignant narcissism has turned inward onto the Party itself, democrats are just shocked, shocked!
And, Senator Obama's decision to hand over two full nights of the convention to the Clintons speaks volumes about his obviously faulty leadership skills. It suggests that as president he might send Putin in to keep peace in Georgia.

shrillarly's last moments as a national candidate are this week. her "supporters' have sealed that deal with their pouting. the rest of the DNC will circumvent her aspirations at every pass henceforth.

"then people will remember come 2012, 2016, or whenever ... "
-----
Nah. "People" can't remember the Iowa caucuses.
Speaking of less-than-enthusiastic speeches, Caroline Kennedy's intro for Ted Kennedy, apparently a word-for-word re-read of her original "endorsement" of The CHANGEling, was memorably flat.

I watched Hillary's remarks in Denver today. I took note of the "give or take" remark, but everything else she said was fully supportive of the Obama campaign and she specifically explained why supporters of hers should vote for Obama over McCain. Sometimes the media is quick to point out the isolated comments that make it sound like there's more division than there is. I think most people who actually watched Hillary's entire segment today would have thought she sounded like a fairly enthusiastic Obama supporter.

Linda.... on your ratings is a two high..... or low?
And could you decipher this for me in regards to Obama:
"Federal Years = 4 State Experience - 6 Total = 10 ?
Thanks.

Let McCain have the presidency. He is so much better than Nobama. However, to keep him in check so he doesn't give us more of the same Bush style of governing, make sure the democrats take over a larger majority in the senate and the house so they can keep a tight rein on him. The majority they now have has been ineffectual in curtailing Bush's antics because it is not large enought to override the veto happy jerk.

I love it Linda!

eyes wide open, I'm not saying I wouldn't vote for Hillary if she were to run again. I just don't know. But I'm sure a lot would be adamantly against it, just like Hillary supporters such as yourself that would never vote for Obama.

Cave,
Iowa, Nevada, Washington & Maine Have Not Released Popular Vote Totals.
The non-partisan Real Clear Politics site estimates with Michigan the following:
Clinton: 18,046,007
Obama: 17,869,542
She got 18 million and he got 18 million "give or take".

Obama has the same or more experience than several of the higher rated former Presidents:
Barack Obama
Federal Years = 4 State Experience - 6 Total = 10
Hillary Clinton
Federal Years = 8 State Experience - 0 Total = 8
Abraham Lincoln
Federal Years = 2 State Experience - 8 Total = 10 Rating = 2
Theodore Roosevelt
Federal Years = 2 State Experience - 4 Total = 8 Rating = 5
Ronald Regan had eight year
Federal Years = 0 State Experience - 8 Total = 8 Rating = 8
Dwight D. Eisenhower
Federal Years = 0 State Experience - 0 Total = 0 Rating = 9
Woodrow Wilson
Federal Years = 2 State Experience - 2 Total = 2 Rating = 11
Grover Cleveland
Federal Years = 8 State Experience - 0 Total = 12 Rating = 12
Franklin Roosevelt
Federal Years = 6 State Experience - 6 Total = 12 Rating = 3

it's worth pointing out that neither one of them actually got 18 million. both got 17.something. but 18 million has become part of the CW by now, i guess that's the way it is.

Didn't Hillary just say a few days ago something about "my opponent"?

"Commander-in-chief"
Posted by: Sammy | Aug 25, 2008 5:47:28 PM
Whatever potential damage a McCain presidency might or might not do, the damage from an inexperienced and politically naive President should also give you pause.
If Hillary were the nominee we could have a lengthy debate about policy, but with her out of the picture we have to have a debate about minimum competency for Commander and Chief.
No matter what a candidates position may or may not be a weak President will be and ineffectual one. How far back did Jimmy Carter's Presidency set the Democratic Party?
Do you think Obama is the next Kennedy or the next Carter? And how bad do you think a McCain presidency would be? Those are the questions to ask.

And I'm afraid some will blame the Clintons if he loses."

Hillary DESERVED to win because she was the most knowledgeable and thought provoking of the candidates... not because her last name was Clinton!
Obama BOMBED in every debate they shared! In the final one, his words got so stuck to his sinuses on the way down through his tonsils that be the time they came trippingly off his tongue, no one could remember the question.... not even him!
But he acknowledged himself the presumptuous winner... even though he would not grant Michigan and Florida full voting rights at the time because that might have changed the tenor of the race. Of course, since then he has rescinded... quelle joke!.
I don't like him.\You can have him;
He's to "slim" for me>
BUT when he tanks... and he will..
DO NOT BLAME HILLARY!
BE A GROWN-UP!!!!!

Please stop the back and forth attacks. Please start thinking about the issues and the severe damage from a John McCain Presidency. Our financial future has been mortgaged for generations to come from the Republican deregulation of the financial industry and futures trading. The Iraq and Afghanistan war cost are not included in the huge deficit figures.
The primary force behind the damaging deregulation was McCain's friend of 26 yrs & his financial adviser "Foreclosure" Phil Gramm & his wife that belong in prison
Within hours of 9/11, McCain started to attacking Iraq, Iran and Syria. “There is a system out there or network, and that network is going to have to be attacked,” Mr. McCain said the next morning on ABC News. “It isn’t just Afghanistan,” he added, on MSNBC. “I don’t think if you got bin Laden tomorrow that the threat has disappeared,” he said on CBS, pointing toward other countries in the Middle East.

"If Hillary Clinton was so completely unbeatable in a general election...then how come she lost to a first-term junior senator?"
__________
He wsa hand picked by the DNC and pushed at us by the no-longer free press!
He was never vetted and, even today, there are questions concerning his birth and whether or not he is even able to carry the title and duties of
potus should be win.
Why is THIS possible?

"Ask yourself these two simple questions."
But remember one more thing. People never change. How Obama is now is how he'll be after you pull the lever. If questioning him now makes you a racist then you'll be a racist again if you question him. If he's automatically *entitled* to your support now, he will be later...
