Who's in the Good Seats Around the Stage?
August 28, 2008 10:07 PM
Sitting here, stage right, third row, I see Michelle, Sasha and Malia Obama; Sen. Joe and Jill Biden; Senate Majority Leader Harry and Landra Reid; House Speaker Nancy and Paul Pelosi; Craig Robinson (Michelle's brother) and wife. There are other family members here, too.
But most of the folks down here are not of the well-connected. They're grass roots volunteers, first-time delegates, and the disabled.

Geevil is right Obama is a liar...McCain made a joke about "what is rich" (when asked by Rick Warren) and he joked, and as soon as he said it HE KNEW THIS BOZO WAS GOING TO USE IT AGAINST HIM.
Thank God, McCain has a sense of humor, because I have seen the dark angry eyes of Obama and it ain't pretty.

I meant his wife and sister

I don't believe Obama's granny is that sick....she was given a gag order long ago, or maybe she's not really speaking with her grandson, like mom, Ann. Two years BO and mom weren't talking before she died of ovarian cancer, alone in a hospital.
Thank God, McCain's 96 year old mother is sharp, healthy and beautiful....and able to tell us about the character of her son.
Isn't it wierd BO has no one but his wife and Michelle to speak on his behalf....friends? colleagues?
Joe, Hill and Bill have known him for 2 minutes....where are the long term associations? Oh, that's right....Ayers, Wright and Rezko are not good character witnesses!
HILL SUPPORTER FOR McCAIN!

Obama's grandmother is too ill and frail to travel.

I took note of Senator Biden's mom who is 90 or so on stage yesterday at his acceptance speech.
Where was Obama's grandmother???
I don't hear any mention of her only during his visit to Hawaii.

Talking about Pelosi occupying a prime seat, one would have seen how much displeasure was written all over her face, and how disappointed she was, when President Clinton was getting the extended standing ovation yesterday and made his incredible speech. And when Sen Obama came to join Joe Biden on stage, she was the first to rush to the edge of the box and tug Sen Obama in adoration for an unbelievably long period of time, as if her own son has become the nominee. The bias was clearly visible. It also points to the allegations how she was one of the architects, along with the likes of Dona Brazile, to influence the Rules and Bylaws committee, to reward Sen Obama with the votes from Michigan and Florida. She should be the one who should be shown the door when she faces the next election.

"Biden has been there longer"
Biden has a long list on his Senate-record that is stellar, and only two that are horrible: voting for the war, and voting for the credit card industry.
McCain has made a few decisions in the past that are stellar or at least okay. But since his embrace of the rightwing fringe, his record is truely horrible.

A great scholastic mind, brought on by his mother waking him up at 4:00 in the morning to read a book, afforded Obama a scholarship to college. And although Affirmative Action really benefits white women mostly, thank goodness it was in place. Otherwise, you would have people like Governor George Wallace of Alabama who stood in the door to block the admission of two black youngsters to the University of Alabama; who, in his 1970 campaign ran ads saying, "Unless whites vote on June 2, blacks will control the state".
But even George Wallace redeemed himself in his last days.

Stanley Kurtz doesn't have "information", he has lies and smears.
He has a right to right to smear anyone he likes, but the one who is being smeared has an equal right to rebut and protest.

@Jack
Not if I'm a politician and this deal is being giving to me by a known crook who's going to want something in return
................
Yes, but when you just want to buy a piece of land who would ever think that something criminal would be associated with it. I could see if he were buying arms or something seedy, but a piece of land, and what could he give the crook in return when he was just a junior senator? Who knew he would be the democratic nominee for president when he bought the land?
