Bipartisan Panel Finds House GOP Was Right, Republicans Won Controversial 2007 Immigration Vote
September 25, 2008 3:40 PM
Fox News and The Hill weigh in on a story I've been following and will blog more about later -- the August 2007 "Stolen Vote" on a controversial immigration issue that Republicans actually won, but Democrats ruled that they won, instead.
The six-person bipartisan panel ruled unanimously that: "the vote tally of 212 yeas and 216 nays that was finally announced is incorrect. It is either 215 yeas and 213 nays, which would have reflected the tally at the time the chair prematurely announced the statement of result, or 211 yeas and 217 nays, which would have reflected the tally had (House Minority Leader John) Boehner’s well card been processed.”
More later.

obama is not running his campaign. he, like mccain, has a campaign manager. good grief - stop saying he can be president because he runs a campaign.

And this deal that’s on the table now is not a very good deal. Twenty percent of the money that should go to retire debt that will be created to solve this problem winds up in a housing organization called ACORN that is an absolute ill-run enterprise, and I can’t believe we would take money away from debt retirement to put it in a housing program that doesn’t work.

House Republicans refused to support the Henry Paulson/Chris Dodd compromise bailout plan yesterday afternoon, even after the New York Times reported that Treasury Secretary Henry Paulson got down on one knee to beg Nancy Pelosi to compromise. One of the sticking points, as Senator Lindsey Graham explained later, wasn’t a lack of begging but a poison pill that would push 20% of all profits from the bailout into the Housing Trust Fund — a boondoggle that Democrats in Congress has used to fund political-action groups like ACORN and the National Council of La Raza:

The numbers you give don't match your headline. It does seem like the vote was miscounted, but not that a definitive "yea" or "nay" could be reached.
Unless you've made a mistake?
215:213 means the Republicans won
211:217 means they didn't

Economic experience - Obama read a book
- Never ran a company
- Never ran a group other than an election campaign
- Never ran a governmental entity ie town, state where he had to meet a budget.
International experience
- Majored in International Relations
- unknown what his grades were, transcripts not released.
- Was a child in Indonesia
- Met foreign leaders on a whirlwind trip
- Committee chairman of Nato and held no meetings
His economic experience ranks ranks below Palins and international experience just a smidge above Palins.
But Obama does excel with a teleprompter better than any other.

According to reports I've read Davis left his company in 2005 and has not received any income, stock or options from his firm since he left.
The same article said while he was with the firm he never lobbied on behalf of Fannie Mae.
I could be wrong but I believe Davis stopped being a registered lobbyist in 2005 as well.
I do know his old company continued to get payments from Fannie Mae after he left.
Do you have any info to the contrary?

HERO - Are you aware that DAVIS is STILL getting money from Freddie Mac - Davis, as in one of McCain's top advisors - and a longtime lobbyist? Remember the good old days when John McCain was a maverik who fought lobbyists? I miss them too. Now he surrounds himself with them - including some of hte scummiest - like Charlie Black. I wouldn't bring up ties to Freddie Mac and Presidential candidates - John McCain is in bed with them.

Ex Republican Is he still giving speeches? Yes.
Is he still playing politics? Yes.
What exactly has John McCain stopped doing - except pulling out of a debate?

You didn't want to tell us that McCain threw the bailout because of Capital Gains - so you have to go back to a 2007 Immigration vote? Hello? Is anyone out there?
Send John McCain to Ole Miss and let someone with intelligence, economic experience and integrity deal with this mess. John McCain is an embrassment to the man he once was.

Barack has had plenty of time to prepare for the debate while McCain was negotiating a resolution to the economic crisis. Obama would rather the economy dive than him fail in a debate. If he's such an amazing politica force, why doesn't his record reflect it? Where's the beef, Barry?

So what if McCain spends $5,583.43 on a makeover? You can put lipstick on a pig, but its still a pig.

Is McCain playing politics ?
Lets see, Is he still campaigning ? Yes
Are his ads still running ? Yes
Is palin still campaigning ? Yes
Are his campaign offices still open across America ? Yes
Was there a deal on the tabble before all this ? Yes
Is the McCain campign still doing phone banking ? Yes
Is McCains campaign still doing literature drops across America ? Yes

Seems the Democrats have been doing more damage to this Great country and trying to pawn it off on everyone else.
Even with the economy crisis and oil crisis they did not seem concerned as they should of been.
The majority rule of Democrats in congress has hampered this country more than it helped.
Time to heed the warning now.
Mr Obama is still more concerned about himself, his image and him getting votes than anything else.
Seems the Democrats have got the peolple and country to where they want it right now. Could it be part of their winning at any cost.

On Wednesday, September 24, 2008, Obama and the DNC filed a motion to dismiss the Philip J Berg lawsuit that states Obama is not qualified to be president.

Who cares what McCain does or what the republicans do? Who cares what the Clintons do?
This is our time, it is Barack Obama's time. He was meant to win this election and he will.
Obama will deliver us from the chaos of our lives. He is the chosen one and there is no doubt about that.
