Conservatives Embarrassed About Palin (No. 4 in a Series)
September 30, 2008 7:20 AM
"I think she has pretty thoroughly — and probably irretrievably — proven that she is not up to the job of being president of the United States," David Frum, a former speechwriter for President Bush who is now a conservative columnist, tells the New York Times today. "If she doesn't perform well, then people see it."
Frum compares Palin to former Vice President Dan Quayle, also mocked as an intellectual lightweight, perhaps unfairly.
"The story of Dan Quayle is he did probably 1,000 smart things as vice president, but his image was locked in and it was very difficult to turn around. And Dan Quayle never in his life has performed as badly as Sarah Palin in the last month," Frum said.

Palin, McCain, Obama and Biden and other political leaders are a reflection of our American consciousness.
ALL countries deserve the politicans they get. We made our choice and the outcome reflects us. We chose Bush to lead us for the last eight years, and the others before him, and before, and before.....these choices brought us to this point in time. The results are staring us in the face.
America WAKE UP!!!
Vote for a man who chose to direct his time, energy and hard-won expertise to assist his fellow Americans to reclaim their voice and power, those who lost their jobs......
Obama's life demonstrats his commitment to America. McCain' represents a man who was brainwashed by a military legacy..... he demonstrated his belief that might makes right; that brawn (military service and power) wins over brain (diplomacy, understanding and community service).
There is hope yet! The principals and aspirations America once stood for can be restored.

Palin's lack of knowledge and understanding of foreign policy is absolutely terrifying. She didn't even at least seem to be AWARE of the dynamics of the mess in the Middle-East- the usual stuff that can be found in the newspapers.
She said in her Couric interview that we should not second-guess Israel. WHAT?! Look, Israel has at times carried out questionable air strikes that killed not militants but innocent Palestinian civilians and children. Palin and went on to say how we must protect our only friend (Israel) in the Middle-East, even if it means letting them do what they like.
Well, Gov. Palin, have ever paused to wonder why America has SO FEW friends in the Middle East?
She has the nerve to call Obama "naive" over wanting to sit down with Ahmadinejad. Excuse me, is she ONE to talk? Does she not understand at diplomacy is? The purpose of it- so that hopefully we can solve the problem in Iran without spending money on another stupid war and getting more soldiers killed and further destabilizing the Middle-East. Ahmadinejad mainly feels the Palestinians should have their land back-he doesn't want to nuke Israel off the map- that will make it uninhabitable for a few hundred years.

I never thought I would see the day that someone would make Bush seem smart, but compared to Palin, he is a genius. I have relatives in Ohio who traditionally vote Republican, but this time, half of them are voting for Obama and half are voting for Barr. Palin should should step down or hut up! She sounds like a ding-bat!

Ok...so another McCain campaign rep had to clarify Palin's comment on Russian...McCain had to clarify her position on Pakistan...I think I see where the problem is:
in order to understand what Palin is saying , WE NEED A TRANSLATOR and only the McCain campaign understands her language!
Gosh, she's not dumb, we are just not understanding what she is saying!
Thank you McCain and Co. for being there for us. If she gets elected, I wonder if she will still need translators? And I can't wait to read the translation of the debate, maybe they should just have subtitles when Palin speaks to tell us what she is really saying.
Palin: "we will cross over if necessary"
McCain campaign subtitles: "we will not cross over"
Palin: "we should drill in the preserve"
McCain campaign subtitles: "I believe in preserving wildlife"
Please save us, save this country!
Obama-Biden all the way!

Please will somebody stop the insanity??? The country is in free fall and we have the vice pres candidate claiming to be "Joe Six Pack" didn't we just have one of those mindless ninnys for President?? McCain-have you completely lost your mind?? So Palins healthcare plan and her economic recovery program involves giving every american prozac to get through this crisis?? as an independant, hillary supporter-

Forget Free Palin; let's free McCain. The campaign is in free fall; maybe if he showed some semblance of the man he was, he would have a chance. Since July, he has shown himself to be a man incapable of the character and temperament to be president. With this erratic behavior and the selection of Palin, his lack of judgment is the final straw. Enough is enough; these are serious times and require serious leadership. Neither McCain or Palin can offer that. Obama is a good man with good character and values I can relate to. I disagree with him often (health care notably) but at least I know I can trust him. McCain wants me to have faith in his gambling ability. Too risky. Putting my country first and voting Obama. I am hopeful my party will nominate someone optimistic, forward-thinking and strong in 2012.

OH!!!!! Sarah you appear so savvy and confident at your new and scripted CBS interview, with your dad at your side (Sorry I mean John sugar daddy McCain)! The question is if this old block becomes the next President and die? You will be the next commander on chief? YOU MUST BE JOCKING?
Joe Biden was chosen for VP, for his honesty free spirit and his experience!
He’s supposed to make a point when is needed. Sarah Plain was chosen for the position after only one meeting .The decisive factor was only the women’s vote and the prerequisite to be the John McCain cheerleader. She makes only scripted interviews and has very thin Resume. Sarah Plain VP? Thanks but not thanks!

dumb dumb dumb...
what you will see (and are seeing) is that conservatives will take back the Republican party before McCain screws it up any more. it does not help Republicans to elect a democrat and idiocrat.
if McCain wins, do we really want the future party leader to be Palin in 2012? not i. who knows, though, maybe she'll be a genius at the debate and all of this is to sucker Biden into a false sense of security.

Gargoyle,
Are you really trying to draw a comparison of Palin's mindless ramblings to Obama's alleged mispoken words. C'mon Gargoyle, Obama is a Harvard graduate with honors. Palin can't hold a candle.

This Palin is the biggest JOKE of this campaign.
She is the dumbest bimbo. Compared to her, idiot Bush suddenly looks like a big genius!!!
Good for the GOP! Keep finding such lousy weirdos and dump them on Americans!!!

Gargoyle,
And John McCain and George Bush said there were WMD's in Iraq and that Iraq was played a role in 9/11 and over 4,000 troops have died since that lie.

The McCain campaign doesn't belive it's own media. She stood up to special interests, and yet now they can't even let her speak for herself, McCain has to tag along.
That just made me cringe, they made her look like a little girl who had to be defended.
But Why doesn't Sarah speak up for herself, and insist they quit muzzling her.She is supposed to be a maverick, no? I gather that is somebody who goes against the tide. Good work Sarah!

Obama said we had 57 states
Obama said Iran was a tiny country and not a threat
Obama said the fundamentals of the economy were strong
Biden said FDR was in office in 1929 and on television
Biden said Obama was not qualified to be President but that he'd be honored to support or serve with McCain
These are just a few examples yet none are reported by the mainstream media. I wonder why there is such a double standard? It's obvious that nost of the media is in the tank for Obama.

Now I hear Palin claiming to have been hearing Joe Biden speeches since "Second Grade".
OK, let's see now: Sarah Palin was born in February 1964. I expect she was in Second Grade in 1971, when she was seven years old (like my daughter is now). Biden was not elected to the US Senate until November 1972, so I guess she was listening to his speeches when he was a world-famous member of the New Castle County Council.
Sarah Palin, the pathological liar...

If the conservative pundits viciously attacking Palin would just read the transcripts they would know Tina Fey did not copy Palin word for word in her Saturday Night Live Satire. Ms. Palin never said Bono was the King of Ireland.

Ryan C.,
What ever the case may be, the republicans kept Hillary from being the candidate. We at least knew she was sleaze, but had no idea this guy would be worse.

MEW: "How did I lie? "
You stated: "Think I remember republicans crossing over to vote for him to prevent Hillary from being on the ticket."
This is in fact the exact OPPOSITE of what happened according to polling data, campaign statements from all sides, and a highly publicized effort by Rush Libaugh to support Hillary's intraparty discord.

Ryan C.,
