Dem Senate Candidate Helps Craft McCain-Bashing SNL Skit
September 21, 2008 11:00 AM
Scoop from Politico: comedian/Democratic Senate candidate from Minnesota Al Franken helped craft the opening skit on Saturday Night Live, which satirized Sen. John McCain, R-Ariz., as a politician who will level seemingly any charge against Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., regardless of the truth.
Appropriate or inappropriate? As with the fundamental question about the skit -- funny or not funny -- you be the judge.

Lorne Michaels caters to the young and ignorant audience and I expect this satire...however the funniest skit so far was Obama in the White House as "Presiden Obama" calling Hillary in a panic at 3AM because he couldn't handle it and was smoking again....he couldn't even find the heater. He will be THE MOST ADVISOR DRIVEN PRESIDENT OF ALL TIME....SOCK PUPPET.
I guess this is why Lorne Michaels (Exec. Producer SNL) is supporting/contributing to JOHN SYDNEY McCAIN not Barack Hussein Obama.

I think the skit is appropriate in that it represents what a lot of people who supported him in 2000 are feeling right now - that he will do anything to win, including using the Rove tactics used against him by Bush.
It's also payback for that ad portraying Obama as some kind of sexual pervert for voting in favor of a bill to help kindergartners protect themselves from sexual predators.

SNL segment was nothing new. We are watching this show any time John McCain appears on TV and struggles two put two sentences together always against OBAMA.
I don’t have any problem in characterizing McCain .He is a Republican! According to his own campaign, Republicans are corrupt and incompetent. Obviously he has inside information.

He is just and ole geeza being told what to do because he doesnt have the bearings to orchestrate such a rove'esque campaign by himself.
hopefully his handlers reeled him by now because he went waaaaay off message last week.

My Name is Omentum and I approve that message. Where was the humor?????? It's the clear-eyed stark truth.

Funny SNL is always attacking anyone but Obama (Hillary, McCain, and now Palin)....where are the Biden satires....he's a human gaff machine, which is why Hillary will be repalcing him Oct. 5. BO is desperate for Hill's 18 million (many left for McCain as soon as BO gave Hillary the bird and won't come back).
CHECK McCAIN'S SUPPORTERS/CONTRIBUTORS..
LORNE MICHAELS, EXEC. PRODUCER TO SNL.....SUPPORTS JOHN SYDENY McCAIN, NOT BARACK HUSSEIN OBAMA!!!!

HP BOSTON es verdad lo que dice ud.
i agree hp boston, as a hispanic i also noticed that obama largely ignored us until now when he needs our votes. he is all over colorado and new mexico almost daily.
obama did make this election a black and white issue forgetting all about the largest minority group which is hispanics.
an undecided purple person who will always believe that hillary would have been the best choice.

This just proves that NBC stands for National Barack Channel.
ABC stands for All Barack Channel.!!!

From NoQuarter:
“Let’s start with the numbers. Why is a first term Senator pulling down almost $300,000 a year from Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers, Bear Stearns, Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, AIG, Countrywide Financial, and Washington Mutual? He has not even completed his fourth year in the Senate and received a total of $1,093,329.00 from these eight companies and their employees. (all data from OpenSecrets.org). John McCain’s numbers, according to OpenSecrets.org for the period 1990-2008 (i.e., 18 years worth of data) only collected $549,584.00. In other words, Barack is receiving $273,582.25 (and 2008 is not over) per year while McCain raised a paltry $30,532.44.
Want another shocker? Barack Obama has received more from one source–Goldman Sachs $542,252.00–than McCain has from all of the companies combined. Who the hell is more beholden to lobbyists? And why does a junior Senator from Illinois rate this kind of dough?”

I don't know much about politics or Wall Street, but that John McCain was great on Saturday Night Live. He's a natural.

Obama treated Hillary like a candidate for President, and not a woman running for President. I can read double standard in both Spanish and English. There were hurt feelings on both sides, But vote for McCain I am sure he will overturn Roe v Wade the first time he gets.

Really.... I thought it was Drill Here Drill NOw oil bill. And the fact that the Republicans caused it by deregulation over the past 6 years, do you really think the Democrats can undo what they did. Republicans do what they always did this Congress filibuster and prevent votes. That is why they hold the filibuster record for this Congress.

It's funny. And for a parody, bears a striking resemblance to the state of McCain's advertising.

McCain did LIE several times in ads and on the trail. 2 see my comments earlier about the fabricated issues you brought up.
I think McCain assoiciations with lobbyist is more terrifying then Obama associations.

MM...Democratic controlled Congress was asked 17 times by Bush to address the Freddie and Fannie situation...Democratic Congress gridlock is the problem..which is why McCain is the guy with the RECORD OF WORKING ACROSS THE AISLE and really working as bipartisan...COUNTRY FIRST, AMERICANS FIRST. party second...unlike Obama...ego first, ego second, ego always.
McCain will appoint Dems to his cabinet and wants the best and brightest with no bickering over credit.
The only choice...McCAIN/PALIN.

What did Clinton deregulate? Nafta did deregulate to open the markets to globaliztion but that had alot of problems.

Thought it was pretty funny and I have just a slight feeling that both campaigns are being run in this manner. Throw a bucket of smelly stuff on the wall and see what sticks. The sad part about both is that they are promising things that will be difficult to accomplish. It would be nice if anyone had the courage to say "look, we don't have the money to do all these wonderful things that have been promised, let alone ones that we are promising."
It is real sad when we as citizens want to vote for the guy who will promise to give us or our interest the most money and it is particularly sad when such bright, well educated men and women sometimes well meaning - other times not
have inadvertently made a mess of our economy.

MM correct if i am wrong (no need for insults) i really am trying to understand this.
but if memory serves me correctly was it not bill clinton who first implemented deregulation?

Last couple of weeks the Obama plan and their minions were to use the word lie and McCain as much as possible. Not going to work, however, when Obama has lied about so much you can google a list that takes hours to go through. Deal breaker lies for me were 3 of BO's bedfellows....Wright, Ayers and Rezko...Obama can act ignorant all he wants about a racist, a terriorist, and a criminal....BUT AMERICA KNOWS THE TRUTH.
I'm wating for the Hillary to replace Biden shock that is expected to happen in early October, due to Biden's "health" problems. Obama needs her and her 18 million votes, but it still won't work.
HILLARY SUPPORTER FOR McCAIN, even before the Palin pick.

.
Claiming Media bias won't change the fact Republicans' and McCain's record on DEREGULATION caused this mess.
