Diddy Weighs in on Sarah Palin; Meghan McCain on Bristol
September 02, 2008 12:35 PM
Says Diddy: "Attention John McCain, attention John McCain, my name is Diddy…I had to check in with you to tell you that you are bugging the f--- out. I don't even understand what planet you're on right now.! This is the job to be the leader of the free world.
"Ok," Diddy continues, "No disrespect. I love you. I want you to live to be 110, but things happen. What if, God forbid, you got a running mate, you become president -- Alaska? Alaska? Alaska? Alaska? Come on, man. I don’t know if there's any black people in Alaska.
"John, like, come on!" Diddy entreaties. "Sarah Palin? Yo, if you really think that we're gonna let you win this election with these, like, crazy, these crazy decisions that you're making, you're buggin'. "
Meanwhile, over at the blog of McCain's daughter Meghan, some thoughts on Gov. Palin's daughter Bristol.
"The first political convention I ever attended was when my mom was pregnant with me in 1984 and the Republican Party nominated Ronald Reagan for a second term as President," Meghan McCain writes. "I have been on political stages and in campaigns since before I could walk or talk. If there is one thing I have learned, it is that it is difficult to establish your identity and independence as the son or daughter of a politician.
"When I was 14 years old," she continues, "a reporter questioned my father about me having a hypothetical abortion, had I been pregnant at 14. This reporter's question single-handedly changed my life. This story comes up in almost every profile written about me and in almost every interview.
"It's a rough go being the son or daughter of a politician," she writes. "I have not known Bristol Palin very long, but there is a certain kinship I feel to her as I do other political daughters such as Chelsea Clinton, Jenna and Barbara Bush and Mary Cheney. You can't fully understand it unless you have lived it. So I just wanted to let it be known that I support Bristol and the entire Palin family."

Diddy is a comedian right? What does he do ? I am not familiar with this guy?
If all these people want money, why do they vote for No-Bama? He is going to tax the hell out of Diddy.
Oh wait, no he won't . Diddy will take his money out of the stock market so he doesn't get taxed.

First of all, what in the hell qualifies Sean Combs to be a political commentator? Does this clown not remember his little gaffe in the 2004 election? After all the crap he talked about getting the youth out and voting, then HE doesn't vote. What difference does it make how many black people there are in Alaska? The fact that he would even make that statement demonstrates a level of ignorance that even David Duke would be proud of. I hate to break it to everyone, but if you think Sean Combs is in touch with the working class black community, you're sorely mistaken.
Another thing I'd REALLY appreciate is for everyone to stop using the name Barak Obama in conjunction with the term "First Black President". Yes, he's half black. He's ALSO half white, which means, by definition, that he's every bit as much a white candidate as a black one.

Race IS a legitimate question. Why is it legitimate to talk about whether or not Obama can represent white people, but it's not legitimate to ask of Palin can represent people of color. Obama was raised by white people. Palin has rarely met another! We need to know how both she and McCain plan to represent a diverse nation rather than just white Americans. The only time Sarah Palin met a black person was when a Black woman beat her in the Miss Alaska contest. Let's hope her losing to a Black competitor then was foreshadowing for this election.

Ok..I have read the comments on here...and I too think there is no reason to bring racism into this...What really matters is why do the people of this country even care what any entertainer thinks. Research both individuals yourself, be responsible for learning about where they stand and what the candidate's are actually going to do. And experience does matter.
I do think however that those of you that think just because Palin was the governor of a small town does not give her experience is wrong. If you want to take that avenue Obama was a community organizer, while very admirable, he did not have to make executive decisions that affect a town or a whole state. Also when he was a State Senator he voted present 133 times instead of taking a stand on those issues. I would rather have someone willing to make a stand whether it be popular or not, than being indecisive.

HOW DOES the experience of Sarah Palin stack up against the experience of Joe Biden? There are some people who confuse seniority in the Senate with experience. In the Senate you get to be Chairman of something or other if you sit around long enough until all those with higher seniority pass out of the picture. Merit has nothing to do with it. That's how Biden got to be chairman of the U.S. Senate Foreign Relations Committee.
Most people don't realize that the SFRC is one of the dustier corners of the Senate, largely populated with snoozing Rhodes Scholars, UN-firsters, and people who intuitively know how to pronounce the name of Kyrgyzstan and how to use it in a sentence. Occasionally someone gets on the committee who is more interested in American relations with other countries, rather than their foreign relations with us, and that wakes up the committee. Usually, ambitious politicians go elsewhere. The committee's main business is to pass the Foreign Relations act, which authorizes money for the State Department and its overseas operations. Occasionally, a treaty wanders by. Sometimes the SFRC doesn't have the clout to get its bills to the Senate Floor, so it gets ignored while all of its functions are packaged into the appropriations bills, without new authorization.
No Senator on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee has authority under the U.S. Constitution to conduct foreign relations or to negotiate treaties. That's why Biden has no experience in foreign relations, and Palin does. He just talks about foreign policy, and talks...and talks. Biden's long tenure on the Senate Foreign Relations Committee is not necessarily a red badge of courage. He thinks he has experience, but most of his experience is wrong. We can look at a few examples of the results of his experience, and ask What Would Sara Palin Do?
If Sarah Palin were campaigning for President, she probably would not have made the centerpiece of that campaign a cockamamie plan to divide Iraq into three autonomous regions.
Sarah Palin probably would not have told General Petraeus that he was "dead flat wrong" on the surge.
Sarah Palin probably would not have voted against the first Gulf War.
Sarah Palin probably would not have opposed the United States designation of the Iranian Revolutionary Guards as a terrorist organization.
Sarah Palin probably would not have told top Israeli officials, as reported in the Israeli press, that Israel would just have to learn to live with a nuclear-armed Iran.
Sarah Palin probably would not have assumed that the answer to failed diplomatic negotiations with Iran was more diplomatic negotiations with Iran.
The word "probably" must be used because we can only speculate on the basis of her barracuda-like instincts.
But there is one thing of which we can be sure: If Sarah Palin had been in the Senate in 1973, she would not have been one of the five Senators opposing the Alaska Pipeline Bill.

Give me a break, Obama doesn't even know what the Joint Chiefs of Staff does!
BARACK OBAMA: I'm going to call in the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and give them a new mission, and that is to bring the war in Iraq to a close. We are going to get out.
There's only one problem. The Joint Chiefs of Staff does not have operational command of U.S. military forces. That authority resides in the commanders of the various Unified Combatant Commands. CENTCOM is the command with responsibility for Iraq [and 26 other countries including Afghanistan and Pakistan]. Earlier this month, the Senate confirmed Pres. Bush's appointment of Gen. David Petraeus as CENTCOM commander. Lt. Gen. Raymond Odierno is the new US commander for Iraq, replacing Gen. Petraeus. Those are the people, along with the Secretary of Defense, to whom the orders Obama spoke of would be issued.
CNN never noted this troubling lack of knowledge on the part of the man who would be Commander-in-Chief. Will any other MSM outlets call attention to it?

I think Didder makes some great points covering some ground breaking issues. I seriously regret ever buying an album with P Diddy's name on it. What a racist no talent A clown!

IF OBAMA HAD MADE PALIN THE VP - republicans would have had a field day and you know it! And Diddy would have said worse about Obama. The truth hurts.

Yes, Diddy, Alaska is part of the United States and has been for a long time. In case you were not sure given the fact that you mentioned it on your tirade at least five or six times. You wondered if perhaps there were no crack heads in Alaska? If there aren't, is a good thing. Wouldn't this show that Palin is actually good at being a governor?.
You know the saying "money can't buy you class" You are a very good example of it.

The entire transcript of "Diddys" tirade is not posted above. What he actually says is far worse. Diddys supporters are showing their true colors in their comments.

Diddy is like Kanye...ignorant. They think Republicans are prejudiced. Hello? Condolezza Rice? Come on now!

I think Diddy makes some excellent points and his incredulity equals my own. I was already terrified thinking of Palin holding the reins internationally, but Diddy's commentary made me realize how ill-equipped she is to handle domestic issues as well.
Her experience is ridiculously limited -- and her skewed judgment, spare knowledge of law, and knee-jerk actions to dismiss anyone who disagrees with her are all terribly troubling. She doesn't give any indication as being someone who will learn or care what other people's lives are like.

If in Alaska 17yr old Bristol is considered a minor, does that make Levi who is 18yrs old guilty of statutory rape?

If it were true that Obama believes women shouldn't have positions of power, would he have dated and married Michelle Obama, a women in her own right holds several accolades & career achievments, she is a women of power and affluence....

No disrespect but if ANYONE votes for Mr. McCain is basically saying "Hey, I'm okay with everything that's going on in the U.S. and all the problems that occur around us." We don't need a Bush 2.0.
