Female Democratic Guv: Palin a 'Novelty' for Republicans

September 10, 2008 12:30 AM

Kansas Gov. Kathleen Sebelius, a longtime supporter of Sen. Barack Obama, D-Ill., said of Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin that "certainly there's an initial excitement about having a woman on the ticket. It's a novelty ... the Democrats had a female on the ticket 24 years ago."

Continued Sebelius, "That will get an amount of attention, but at the bottom line, I think voters, male and female, will be looking at who is going to lead this country, what direction they're going to take us."

Obama, what a pathetic imitation of JFK with his performance at Berlin! it´s a pity Michelle wasn´t there to complete the show dressed like Jackie, so that Camelot has returned again. The Kennedys should ask Obama for copyright.

So, wait...she's saying that ANY woman who has a shot at high office is a novelty? Nice going Democrats. You are winning over new voters every day.

eddit,

sorry buddy you are wrong. She said that dinosaurs were ugly lizards that displeased god so he turned them to oil.

"And you're wrong, the Taliban didn't just refuse to give up bin laden, they supported the terrorist network."
-----
It was the US which empowered bin Laden, when he was fighting the Russians. The CIA built his "caves", and so on.

If it isn't "terrorism" to bomb people without an air force, as the "US" did for a dozen years, under Obama advisor General McPeak, in Iraq, as in Afghanistan, what's "terrorism"?

It's when less-powerful people fight back ANYway. Keep oppressing people, keep having "terrorism". It's not complicated.

According to Palin dinosaurs are mythological creatures since the world began only 5000 years ago.

"God's will has to be done in unifying people and companies to get that gas line built, so pray for that," she told members of her church. - Sarah Palin, politically positioning herself at church

"Our national leaders are sending them out on a task that is from God," she said. "That's what we have to make sure that we're praying for, that there is a plan and that plan is God's plan." - Sarah Palin

People should do their homework on Palin. Apparently she thinks oil comes from decomposed dinosaurs!

your future:

And exactly which National Guard has Obama been "ceremoniously" heading lately??

Posted by: SandyB | Sep 10, 2008 10:41:30 AM

On the eve of 9/11 Belle Starr writes: "That 3000 mostly-civilians were killed is too darn bad -- but it's a drop in the dead-civilian bucket the US fills again and again, all over the world, every day"

I wonder how your view on this would be changed if you were actually in nyc during the tragedy.

And you're wrong, the Taliban didn't just refuse to give up bin laden, they supported the terrorist network.

Palin did not say the Iraq War was a task from god. Her words were deliberately distorted.

She prayed that the choice to go to war was consistent with what god's will.

Quite a difference.

Keep spreading the lies and the backlash will only get worse dems.

JA nice try but those are her word exactly.

Barbyrah, look it up!

I'm a college graduate. I have a BS from University of Idaho in journalism. I'm mayor of Wasilla, population about 5,000. I hired an administrator to run the town. I'm governor of Alaska with less than two years of experience. I have never ordered the Alaska National Guard to do anything, but I did visit them in Kuwait once. Other than Kuwait, I've been to Germany........oh! and Ireland too, for a fuel stop.

"Sarah Palin believes the Iraq war is a task from God."

Unlike Obama, though, she didn't vote for every opportunity to keep it going.
-----
Um, that's because state governors, small-town mayors, and PTA presidents don't get to vote on the federal budget, don't you think. I'm really not sure I see your point. Obama never claimed divine inspiration for any of his political views that I know of.

--------------

Does Obama believe that escalating the assault on Afghanistan, which he's campagining on, is a task from "God" --
-----
I think he believes it's the best way to go after al Qaeda and the rest of the real anti-US terrorists (and that's why he'd like to wind up Iraqi operations, to free up resources for Afghanistan), which is what Bush should've done instead of invading a country where there was no al Qaeda presence nor any real anti-American terrorist presence (and specifically no September 11 plotters). And billions of dollars and thousands of dead later (our dead, not even counting Iraqi civilian and military casualties, a much higher figure) we now have an Iraq that will never be free of anti-American sentiment, and will probably never be able to be free of American occupation. Nice going, dubya. Was that cheap oil you got in the bargain all that cheap after all?

-----------

or just a message from his mentor Brzezsienski, on the way to war with Russia?
-------
No, that would be John McCain who is marching us in that direction. "Gimme a G! Gimme an E! O! R! G! I! A! What's that spell???" "In your face, Russia!" WHAT'S THAT SPELL?!?!?" "IN YOUR FACE, RUSSIA!!!!!!"

Unfortunately, what I see on this blog is incessant "Taking the ball and running with it." People have already created THEIR OWN STORIES about Palin in order to bolster their biases and prejudices, and no amount of fact is going to shake them.
While I understand this is not, in any way, limited to only one political party, it's interesting that with the plethora of information we've discovered just this past week about Gov. Palin - everything from her per diems for sleeping in her own home...to her family's admonishment by [her sister's] divorce judge to knock off the constant denigration of Wooten and even threatening to award child custody to the guy, calling it "emotional abuse" of the children...to that whole "Bridge to Nowhere" fiasco...to the Wasilla Sports Complex fiasco...etc. etc...none of it seems to matter to some folk out there.
My heart sincerely goes out to them. The world is changing, this country is changing, and it can't be stopped. Must be terrifying to those who hang on to the past.
I wish you well.

Belle Starr, do you know why we are even in Afghanistan?

Spock,

I will be frank with you here. I am not voting for either Candidates.

I needed to have a clearer head to look at the plans of the two "gladiators".

I have friends in all the Continents of the World and our discussions lately, have centered on American Elections.

My advice to all is that we should make use of the leverage the Internet has freely given us to feel the pulse of other Countries as it relates to US affairs.

There are many Counties fighting side by side America servicemen in Iraq and Afghanistan.

They fight, bleed and die together.

They are stakeholders in the direction America decides to follow come November.

Their lifes also depend on this election and they are not Americans. Can you see the irony?
