Joe Who?
September 14, 2008 6:22 PM
When Democratic presidential nominee Sen. Barack Obama's running mate Sen. Joe Biden, D-Del., walked onto the Denver stage at his party's convention the evening of Wednesday, Aug. 27, the spotlight of the entire nation was shining solely on him.
Less than 48 hours later that had all changed with two words: Sarah Palin.
Almost as soon as word leaked on Friday morning that the little-known Alaska governor had been picked as Republican nominee Sen. John McCain's number two, the attention paid to Biden quickly vanished into the Mile High air.
Since the Delaware senator left Obama's side and ventured out on his own on Labor Day, he has hardly garnered any national media interest at all.
His plane, a blue chartered 737, now crosses the country with about three-quarters of its seats empty, rows and rows with nary a warm body to be found.
Biden's supporters maintain that he is connecting with voters and garnering positive media interest on a local level. They also say that Biden is a "governing" pick, not a "political" pick, unlike Palin. That is, Biden will actually be able to help Obama govern; he's not just a cynical selection to help his boss win the election.
Either way, as Air Joe flew from Wilmington to Charlotte, Sunday, the only reporters onboard were off-air reporters from the five television networks and correspondents from NBC and Politico. There was only one camera crew. The back of the plane, reserved for press, sat totally deserted.
The New York Times? Gone. The Washington Post? Not seen since the first days of September. The otherwise ubiquitous Associated Press? Left even before that.
And when the senator spent two straight down days at his Delaware home this weekend, the press corps dwindled further, with some members bolting the "small wonder" state altogether, leaving Wilmington a media ghost town.
On Saturday, only four reporters were around to cover any Biden action. Not that there was any.
Meanwhile, in marked contrast thousands of miles west, a media circus of approximately three dozen followed Sarah Palin's every move, each one wondering if the woman who would be a heartbeat away from the presidency will ever brave their ranks to answer questions.

Those women protestors against Palin didnt look like the kind of woman you would want to hang out with to me. Who knows, Obama sent 30 lawyers to alaska, maybe he sent some money to support that protest, wouldnt surprise me since he's always braggin abut the money he's raking in, during economic hardtimes.

Wow, ABC has almost run a negative story on the Dems. Not really negative, but highlighting what a bad choice Biden was. Imagine if Hillary was VP choice? That plane would have no empty seats, Obama would be leading big time in Ohio and Florida, and this election would be a landslide. Bad call Barack, poor judgment based on personal feelings. This is not personal, strictly business, Obama better figure that out soon or he is toast.

Seriously, aren't you more worried about Biden being President than you are that Palin might have to? Stress kills 40-year-olds every day.

Puma - I see your point. There seemingly are no answers to the questions about Ayers, ACORN, CAC, etc., that would paint Obama in a positive light. Better to stick to Bush bashing.

abc did a real number editing her answers. if you read the entire transcript she did a great job, and had a good grasp of the issues....by the way there is no "one" bush doctrine. she was correct in asking him to clarify...

Funny how the left likes to criticize those with whom they disagree as stupid, crazy, ill informed, etc., but they don't counter with any facts. Please don't change though, you're making our job easier. McCain/Palin landslide in November.

Clinton should have been the presidential nominee... despite the DNC and press waging an unholy war against her, she still won more votes than Obama. She's a proven vote getter alright and there's no doubt she would have lifted him to victory as his VP pick. But Obama is an arrogant, disrespectful man who has never missed an opportunity to take a slap at her and her 18 million supporters. The last thing she should consider doing is saving his sorry butt now.

Joe Biden is one of the most knowledgeable and dedicated legislators alive today. To even compare him with Sarah Palin - who has already demonstrated her VERY TENUOUS understanding of foreign affairs, and just about everything else - is ridiculous. The American public SHOULD see through the pseudo-feminist gimmick that is Sarah Palin.

A certificate of Birth is also a Birth Certificate. Both are issued by the Federal Government. You just switch the words around and said A passport of the U.S. is not a U.S. passport.

*********************************
a certificate of live birth can be obtained after one is born, ie., if born abroad you can return and get a colb. A birth certificate has what hospital you were born in, signatures, and are notarized, etc.
bho has never said which hospital he was born in. there are two theorized hospitals, but neither has been sured up.
had bho been born in kenya, as is speculated, heis mom could have returned to hawaii and gotten a colb. then, even though his mother was a citizen, the law says you must have lived in the country for five years after your 14th birthday for your child to be a citizen. the other issue is his registration as an indonesian with the name "barry Soetoro" when his mom married lulolo soetoro and took bho to indonesia. with citizenship there he is ineligible for president. there are many questions and the suit filed in phil. will get answers. by 09/24 for bho and the dnc, and 10/21 for the fec.

forget where i read it now, but there is a prof of bho that spoke about him being into black "groups". at this university (where there was a prof who was a member of the weather underground--not ayers--)the prof reports that these blacks formed groups, one of which called them selves, "The weathermen underground. Fairly coincidental.
Apparently "someone" looked up 300 people from his class, and NO ONE knew of him in school.
the students in indonesia he schooled with, say he was a muslim, and prayed with them.
his family in kenya say he was born there.
is interesting how absolutely no one except his wife have evry extolled his virtues, etc.
where has he been, and who was he with for his entire adult life. we have virtually no pictures of him either.

Bill Ayers, ACORN, Chicago Annenberg Challenge, Rev. Wright, those missing years at Columbia U - we know NOTHING about Senator Obama, NOTHING. Unlike McCain, Palin or Biden there is no one from Obama's past who steps up and talks about his character. No one except his wife. Where are his Columbia undergrad or Harvard Law fellow students, his community organizer buddies - there is no one. Who is he really? More importantly, who is behind him?

Democrats in Alaska! Wake up! The Safety Commissioner has publicly stated that he was not fired, but resigned after feeling only pressured for not canning a seriously deficient Trooper Wooten. Wooten even told reporters that he hadn’t even been contacted by the lead investigator of the panel brining the subpeanas! So, why are you chasing your tails?? Oh, yeah, you don’t want the talented Republican Sarah Palin and John McCain to win…

Our nation is at a crossroads, we the American people must examine our core beliefs and vote accordingly. We must vote on the issues, not on spin and gut feelings. We must make long term plans, of which prayer is included but is not the only effort made.We used to be a world leader based on example - now it's by force. We used to believe in and practice the Geneva Convention - now we torture (not here) we have hidden places overseas for that! We used to belive in education, now we think we can run a country with undereducated bottom of their class, individuals and continue to "dumb" down our educational system so God and science are not in opposition. This administration has cured me of ever voting Republican again.
If you can't take the time to listen to Joe Biden - if you constantly have to be entertained by the media then you are not asking yourself the right questions. When a man owns 9 homes and a private jet and calls Obama an elitist you might want to check the facts. When this nation is reeling in debt, borrowing money from China for a war in Iraq so China can get the contract to develop the Iraqi fields at $6 a barrel - you might want to read more.
We have a crisis everywhere, war, healthcare, education, security of ports and borders, immigraion, infrastructure, nationl disasters, and a failing economy with a falling dollar and the bailout of airlines, banks, and an energy crisis that cannot be solved overnight. If you care about this country please read page two! Read about the issues - believe the fact that more of the same will not make a difference! WAKE UP AMERICA!
VOTE!

How many of the reporters covering Palin have mentioned the huge (ok, but huge for Alaska, the biggest in its history) anti-Palin women's rally? Not one! How many media outlets covered it compared to how many covered her rally there even though her rally was much much smaller? None.
Not a free press...just cheap.

it has nothing to do with Biden!

Just to remember: The Clinton campaign went always negative in the primary, like McCain now. And you wonder why Barack didn't choose Hillary ? Hillary would have been the pest pick for the Republicans to trash her. The Clintons have a samsonite factory.
Hillary is a powerful woman, but her campaign was disastrous.

I imagine all the reporters are busy investigating John McCain's efforts to cover up Cindy's drug abuse and help her avoid prosecution.

Re: MM "It takes guts to Call McSleaze/Lyin the couple for America. It takes guts to call a +1 majority Democratic controlled. It takes guts to ignores McCain's and Palin's irrevalent eduations. It also takes guts to lie to yourself and vote against your self interest. Let's face it your not voting on the issues."
